The Helpful Spirit

A few days ago, my husband was on the computer watching videos online. He had his headphones on and the volume up quite loud. Everything was quiet and I knew he had his headphones on, so I didn't try and talk to him. Right when I was about to get out of the shower, he asked me what I wanted. I had no idea what he was talking about since I hadn't said anything to him. He said that he heard someone say his name. He said it was a girl's voice and he said it sounded really similar to mine. The exact same thing happened a day or so later.

Other odd things have happened recently as well. Nothing scary or bad, just weird. There was one day when I had already left for work and he was still home getting ready to go. He tends to forget either his phone, keys or wallet a lot. Well on this particular day, he had walked outside locking the door behind him, thinking he had everything with him. He went down to the truck, only to find that he had left his keys in the house. He called me up and asked me what time I would be home from work, since he had locked himself outside and wasn't able to drive anywhere. I explained to him that I wouldn't be home for awhile. So I guess he just went and sat in the truck to wait or something. He tried turning the ignition without the key, and to his surprise, it turned on! He was able to go to work on the other side of town, the bank and even drive home... All without keys. He tried doing that again to see if maybe his truck was messed up or something, but nothing happened. This all happened on the same day he heard the voice say his name for the first time.

Another weird thing that happened took place last night. We are in a drought right now where we live. So when it started raining last night, we were both really excited! After about an hour of listening to the rain on our tin roof, my husband realized he had left the truck windows down. He panicked, thinking all his tools and such were getting wet. He ran outside, only to find that the windows were all rolled up. He came back in and started saying that his uncle must of come by and rolled them up for him, until we found out his uncle had never come by last night. He swears he left them rolled down. Which makes sense, since the truck doesn't have air conditioning and it gets really hot during the days out here. So how did they end up getting rolled up before it rained? Maybe it was the same spirit that has been calling his name... I guess we'll never know.

I do know that whoever this spirit might be, we are grateful for the help.

Hello Amy, what a wonderful view of this ghost you have. I think I would welcome a ghost who wanted to help out around the house, the Great Spirit knows how I seem to run out of time to get everything done! How wonderful that only good things seem to come out of this. I wonder who the ghost is too, must be someone who in life was a helper, that part is obvious. Have you had any more experiences? Thank you for the story.

hello amy! It's nice to have a friendly ghost, same as we have in my grandparents house. They really do help us out, one night we're all in a deep slumber when suddenly I heard my name been called out 3 times until I finally woke up, right there and then I smelled like burning electrical wirings, I woke my aunt up and look for the source we found out that it came from the main electrical wires outside the house, this can really cause fire since we have trees all over. Thanks to our friendly ghosts! I always say thank you to them. But sometimes you won't be able to have these friendly types, some are bad and sometimes you have both. In my case, we have both (black and white). Just say thank you and for sure they will appreciate it! 😁

If indeed it is a spirit of one kind or another, I wish all of them were that helpful. I had one that liked to turn on my computer for me, just not when I wanted it on. I have posted the story, so if you want you can read my post. 😁

Dear amyradvan,

I swear I have read this story before was this story on the sister site, psychic-experiences or filed back on this site somewhere? Sure read exactly like the "familiar" for me?

Well, everything you speak of within your story could be attributed to a ghost or spirit helping out or hindering. Maybe even your husband's chaotic, forgetful emotional state could be a part of the mix.

There could be a logical explanation for the ignition being left on if it was already loose or broken which made for easy turning in order to turn the ignition on without the keys. Broken ignition switches do occur. As for the windows being rolled up, could be he forgot they were rolled up or it could be the ghost or spirit, a paranormal cause or help. As always, the final call is up to you and your husband to decide.--Abby

Right after I posted the last comment I remembered an episode on the tv series "Angel" where Cordelia has that helpful, loving ghost "Dennis" that lived in her apartment. Well, this kind of reminds me of that. I don't know if you even know what show I'm talking about but it was my favorite tv series. My daughter (14) commented that she wished she had a "Dennis" and so do I! =) -shelby ❤

Great story! If only all ghosts could be so helpful and less scary. Your husband is very lucky to have the extra help when he needs it and to know that he is being looked after by, possibly, a loved one who has passed. Keep us updated if anything else happens. Shelby <3

Thanks once again for all the comments! 😊 We've been living in this apartment for almost a year. My husband is 23 years old and his cousin actually passed like 3-4 years ago. He was only 17 when he passed. He said that they were really close. He also had an uncle pass not too long after that. So I wonder if maybe it is one of them?

Very interesting story. Sounds like for some reason, the'entity' feels your husband could use a hand.

Has anyone close to him or that used to be close to him recently passed? Just curious. Could explain what is happening.

What if any history do you have on the land your home is located on?

Thanks for sharing with us,
God Bless!

Hi Amy. I liked reading your story. Have you been living in that house for some time. Maybe this is a ghost of somebody close to the family who is checking on you guys. Maybe it is someone from your husbands side. Keep us informed. Hope to hear from you soon and take care

Hi Amy, that was a great story! I really enjoyed it. You've got a pretty thoughtful spirit living with you, it sounds kind of fun! It sounds like the spirit is more attracted to your husband, maybe if you're really nice she'll start helping you out just as much! I hope you'll keep us up to speed with any new developments, it's so interesting to read. By the way, I'm glad you finally got some rain! Thanks for sharing your story with us. 😊

Athena, I don't think her husband is an antique at least not yet. 😆 Though he might have been a pre owned model. Sorry Amy, just kidding. Pretty interesting story though. Makes you kind of wonder who the spirit might be. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Peace, Love, and Luck be with you.

Those are some very interesting events! How long have you guys been living there? Have you brought home 'once used' purchases? How old is your husband? What explainations do you have for these events? Could there be a mundane explaination? That is sooo Cool that his truck started without his key- kind of hard to explain away! Glad you are getting 'extra' help. 😊
