Unexplainable House Events

Yesterday while sitting at the dining room table, the door to the deck opened softly all by itself and then closed softly all by itself. It was done so precisely and softly that it almost appeared like it had been done by a person. It was not windy and there is no back swing to the door if it is manually opened. After the whole family actually watching the whole door thing happen, my family was more intrigued and curious than scared.

Then, today while sitting at the dining room table again, we thought we heard the shower running. My sisters went to go see and the shower was on! It had turned on all by itself. They screamed and ran out and the shower turned off shortly afterwards. We went in to see if the nozzle had been turned and it was in the off position.

We were at first thinking that maybe because of our location on Kiawah Island and this being a new house that there may be an Indian burial ground that was disturbed, but then we remembered our grandmother passed away about a year ago from cancer. She frequently visited this house because it belonged to my aunt. Her and my aunt were best friends. We think she might be trying to get our attention and let us know that she is here.

If another paranormal event happens does anyone have any suggestions of what we should do? Can anyone maybe help us understand what's going on or if it might actually be our grandmother?

Angel - Dialogue is dialogue whether you ask a question or give a statement. Either can invoke a response from the other party (wanted or not).

Being able to eliminate the possibles is how you arrive at the probable, it's called deduction (you eliminate the "nots" to get the "is"). I have my reasons for saying what it's not and I shall stick by those (if curious then email me in private).

Seven - See 2nd half of my above comment. Just because I left out reasons behind my statement of what it isn't does not mean I am wrong. I felt going into that much detail was a waste of time.

And yes I *DO* know what it is and is not.

This is a nice story 😊
I think this is your Grandma and you don't need to be scared or worried when she is around. Just talk to her when you feel her near you to let her know you feel her presence.
Similar things happen in my house, when we talk about my late Grandma, she usually comes to me in a dream to let me know she's ok. 😁

Well, my suggestion is to try talking to the spirit.

Ask if it's your grandmother, and ask why she has come back to that particular area.
If she answers with positive answers, you know she isn't meant to do evil quests.

(: Just a suggestion.

If that happens often, the shower and the door thing, then maybe it IS her, trying to get your attention. If your aunt is there, then maybe she wants her to know that she is watching over you guys. (: Good luck!

There should be no indian burial grounds on the island, I am from the area. If you do not like this happening (I know that I would not) just pray, read your Bible and simply say God Rebuke you, an it will leave, if it is anything.

Why not talk to the spirit? Sometimes that's all they want. You may not be able to hear them, but it doesn't mean they can't hear you. Does there presence make you feel at ease? Because when my grandfather is around I always feel as though a wait is taken off my shoulder, don't worry if it doesn't though I was just seeing if you shared the same thing as me.

Quote from RayvenHawk:

"Last thing: Just to nip this in the bud, what is at your home is *NOT* a demon, an angel, a dark entity, etc etc etc. (I'm sure some comments will attempt to tell you that it is)."

Oh, so you're the absolute authority on the truth! We can finally get this all cleared up! Thanks man! 😆

RayvenHawk, there is a difference between asking a question and making a statement. One requires an answer; the other does not.

If you are unable to say what this "is," you cannot -- with any surety -- determine what it "is not." You have no way of knowing, either way, this being's intention. Many times, evil masks its true intentions in the beginning of any relationship. (True of people, as well as spiritual beings.)

I'm NOT saying this entity is evil; I'm saying we CANNOT know either way, at this point. Proceeding with caution is always advisable in situations such as these.

"Fools rush in where angels fear to tread."

Cheers,
A.

angelfeathers - I never stated to do automatic writing, re-read what I said. I told her to write down her DREAM. Big difference there. Communicating in the manner I put is not going to open any sort of door way. It is in no way any more harmful than your suggestion of telling them to go into the light (that is STILL dialogue BTW).

As for knowing what it is, never stated I did I just stated what it was not.

NO ONE can say with any certainty precisely what this is; but I would tend to agree that it's a residual haunt.

Rather than undertaking "automatic writing" -- something that can open the door to the spirit realm by making you a quasi-medium, which doesn't always end well and can invite indwelling -- I would recommend that you talk to Grandma and your aunt and tell them that it's time to go into the light. DON'T ask questions. (Again, through dialogue, you're inviting a relationship; and if, by chance, this is not Grandma or your aunt, do you really want some unknown being poking around your life?)

Hope you'll keep us informed of any developments.

Blessings,
A.

Wow, you live in Kiawah Island in SC? Ha! I live in Goose Creek, about 45 minute away from you. I have heard of a place that is haunted on Seabrook but not Kiawah. There could be some history there, you should do some research. I've also heard that the entire U.S. In an Indian Burial ground.

Very well could be your grandmother, but not interacting with you directly but with the enviroment, meaning she assumes she's alive and takes a shower, does mundane tasks (you don't see, or haven't seen yet) and leaves the house through the door.

If it's just her repeating tasks she's familiar with then the paranormal stuff should continue at this level, at most a few additional things as you become more aware of it. Otherwise if she's trying to get your attention, she'll do more noticable things to get it. If that's the case, talk to her. Avoid the ouija board (while I don't see it as evil, just an unnecessary tool at this point), talk to her just before you go to sleep and tell her to visit you in your dreams, ask her your questions just before you lay down. When you lay down, tell her "see you soon grandma (or whatever nick name you had for her) ". As soon as you wake up, write your dream down, don't think about it don't try to recall it. Just grab a pen and paper and start writing (don't worry if it's not in order, doesn't need to be at that point). Once you're done writing more than likely you'll need to reconstruct it in the proper order (but the odds of it being complete are very high). Look for symbols, words, events that stand out as something you wouldn't normally dream.

For example you ask: "Grandma why are you here?"

You dream: Your skydiving into a river and then appear to be white water rafting to only reach a waterfall, as you go over the edge you end up in class trying to finish your test.

Translation: Something is unfinished for her.

Note: The events need to happen together, to have those events pop up at various points in the dream means they are not tied together.

Last thing: Just to nip this in the bud, what is at your home is *NOT* a demon, an angel, a dark entity, etc etc etc. (I'm sure some comments will attempt to tell you that it is).
