Now, I'm sure everyone has those nights where you just wake up randomly and can't go back to sleep. Well, I was having one of those nights. I usually don't have these kind of nights, so as I lay on my bed I thought about what I should do. I decided to pick up a good book I had been reading for the past two days. I sat up in bed, turned on my lamp that sat on my night stand, picked up the book, and started to read.
Now, I had woken up at about 3:00 AM. And, I believe it was at about 3:20a.m when something very strange, mysterious, completely terrifying happened to me. I started to hear a woman cry. Now, at first I just sort of ignored it, and tried to read my book. But these cries were like sobs, and it was almost painful to hear these sorrowful cries. At first I thought it was my mother upset about something, but she never cries. I just knew it wasn't her. Dad? No. I had no other siblings, I'm an only child.
I quietly set down my book, and just stared at my door. Now, there were three things that made this experience terrifying. One, there was something IN THE HOUSE that was crying. It sounded like a female, and it sounded distressed. It wasn't my mom; I had NO CLUE what this was. Two, it was in the middle of the night, and I was the only one up, so I was basically on my own. Three, it was coming from behind my closed door, not the closet, the door that leads to my bedroom! For a second I wanted to open the door and see what it was, but of course I quickly crossed that out. Then as suddenly as it came it went away. The whole experience lasted maybe nine or 10 seconds. But every second was horribly terrifying. I feel asleep soon after that, and when I woke up it was about 9:00 in the morning. I knew my parents had to be awake, and I knew that I had to tell them. You have to remember at the time, I was hoping that it was my mother crying that night because I didn't want it to be paranormal. (I've had experiences at my house where paranormal type things happen.)
I told my parents all about what had happened and asked my mom if she had been the one crying. She just looked at me and shook her head slowly. Both of them believed that I had heard _something_, but they weren't sure what it was. Mom thought it was a ghost, dad didn't. Then about four days later, something amazing happened. Mom and I were sitting at the table eating our waffles, and then dad came into the room. He looked directly at me and said; "Becca, I heard the crying noise last night, and let me tell ya, it was pretty freaky."
This was the last time any of us ever heard "the crying noise". The experience happened about 6-7 months ago. To this day I've always wondered what it was, but to this day I still can't figure it out.
Thanks for reading this story, it is appreciated! More of my unexplained experiences will be posted soon!
