Everyone seems to have ghost stories about places old buildings they worked in and my job then was no exception. At the time, I was working the second shift (from 3 pm to 11:30) as a stock clerk in an electronics manufacturing plant. Soon after I had begun working that shift I began to experience someone feminine saying my name softly but I could never find anyone near. Since I have bad hearing in my left ear I put it down to someone saying "hi" on the passing and the softness due to that. This continued although not every night. Later on I started to feel tugs on my coat as I walked. Considering my balance is a bit shaky due to the same cause that resulted in the hearing loss, I just put it down to my coat getting caught on something or just a slightly hard step in my walk.
Finally one night, I got a stronger tug on my coat and my name was called with a giggle. I turned to see who did it. There was no one there or even nearby. Later at break, I was discussing it with my friend's. One, who had worked the shift longer. I was told it was actually a common experience to the more friendly employees although not as much as mine while the others joked it was probably because they seemed to really like me to harass me. As we had never talked about such subjects before I had no idea of the ghost stories surrounding the plants. I learned many of the stories then.
This harassment, as my jokey friend continued to call it, would continue until I went back to working the day shift but I never did forget it. Now it is part of my "life experiences" stories to tell.
