When my partner and I were at our old place, living in Buckinghamshire, I always felt like there was a presence. I do not have a scary tale to share, but what I do have is a memory of a strange cold unexplainable feeling that surrounded me whenever my partner was out.
It did not matter if it was summer, spring, autumn or winter, the cold feeling would still be there. It only happened when I was alone. I could not put my finger on what it was. We had central heating so even when it snowed outside in winter, the home was warm in every room. It was a small place on the corner of two quiet Mews. The Mews were cobbled and relatively old but the homes were not that old, but old enough to have squeaky floors and walls as they adjusted to the change in temperature from morning to the cool of the evening.
I told my partner often about the feeling when it happened. It made no difference burning sage, or incense. The cold feeling still surrounded me.
We moved after a couple of years, not because of the odd feeling but because my partner got a good job and commuting was out of the question. (Trains were too expensive, driving was not logical.)
I would like to try and understand what it was all about so any comments will certainly help somewhat. Strangely, it has not happened since.
The Mews were not on burial grounds as far as I know. No one died in the place to my knowledge. That is as much as I got out of the neighbouring folks.
However, in my situation, there was not a breeze, it was just a cold eerie feeling. It is somewhat difficult explaining other than, I felt a chill and felt like rugging up. It didn't matter how warm it was outside.
As soon as my partner returned, I felt quite warm and the cold feeling lifted.
I appreciate you reading my unsolved tale of sorts.
Cheers,
Ken
