The Bingham Light Continued Pt 2

Hey guys!

I will be taking you back to my "Bingham Light" encounters. To give a bit of backstory on the history of this "ghost light" and my very first encounter with it, you can check one of my past stories titled "The Bingham Light".

The Bingham Light is something that I've been going to see on an irregular basis over the past 14 years being as I live not too far from the location (within 25 minutes away). My first encounter was back in 2010. I have since been out to the sight over 80 times, but so far I've only actually seen the light maybe 7 or 8 times out of all of those visits - including recently.

Within the past 2 1/2 weeks I have been going out to the site and (very surprisingly) I saw the light on each occasion - which makes 3 times, not counting my past sightings.

As I just alluded to, sightings of this light are very rare, but what I've come to notice over the years is that it seems to be more active during the cold winter months. I can not say that this will guarantee any sightings for anyone else who may want to see it around this time, but that's just a pattern I've come to notice. Maybe there is some correlation with this spirit? Perhaps that is when the incident happened that caused the person's death? Or maybe it's something else.

Anyway, to get on with this... There really isn't much of a story or anything significant. I am just simply reporting recent sightings.

So the first time was on December 15th. My younger sister and I decided to go out to the site after we had just got back into town for a night out at the mall and doing other things. However, we didn't see the light on this visit.

The following weekend (December 21st I believe) we went out to the site again. I had just come back into town from an outing and decided to pick her up and take her out there being as there was nothing else going on, and it being rather late.

We didn't have any intentions on seeing the light this time. In fact, after the few times I've taken her out to the location she kind of gave up hope on seeing it because it would never appear during those times. We parked in front of the huge corn field on S. Butler Rd (the main location where the light is often seen) and we just chatted for a while, mostly about paranormal stuff that we've experienced in the past. After a while we finally called out to the light a few times (yelling "Bingham Light, come out!") but like before, it never appeared.

A little later I saw an illumination off in the distance behind us. This was no Bingham Light this time, this was a car coming down the dirt road. It was still a good distance away and only the trees were illuminated faintly from the light. Not knowing who it was or if it were one of the rangers that occasionally patrols the area, I yelled to my sister "Let's get outta here!". We ran back to the car then left quickly!

As we were nearing the end of the dirt road we saw the car behind us, still off in the distance. Not really worried about it any longer as we were far enough ahead of them, I decided to take a left onto the main road (Hwy 34) and go down to the other side at Reedy Springs Ct (another dirt road in the area about a mile or so away).

We parked and I shut all the lights off, then proceeded to call out to the light several times from the windows while we chatted a bit. As a side note, the whole area in itself is creepy without any lights, but Reedy Springs Ct is INCREDIBLY creepy, even more so than over at the S. Butler Rd side in front of the field. I guess because the area over at Reedy Springs Ct is more enclosed by woods and you never know which direction that light is going to come from!

After a while something suddenly caught my eye from the left, startling me. I saw a light slowly gliding through the woods about 10-15 yards ahead. I at first thought it was someone coming out of the woods shining a small flash light so I was about to peel out of there but I stopped. All the while I was yelling to my sister to "LOOK!" "DID YOU SEE THAT?!".

The light was bright and appeared to be a white or light blue color but it didn't shine or illuminate anything around it. It looked as if one of the stars from the sky was hovering a few feet above the ground, and it was gliding at a steady pace. That was the exact appearance.

We watched in awe as the light came out of the woods, but what was weird was that the light disappeared immediately when it got onto the edge of the dirt road, then it immediately appeared directly on the opposite side of the road at the edge of the woods! That part definitely freaked us out! It seemed to just entered the woods and then disappeared, at least for a few moments.

I tried to reason for a moment that maybe it was a firefly, but given the behavior of this light it definitely was not a firefly, and I've seen plenty of those out in that area in the warm months.

We were filled with excitement, and especially my sister as this was her first time finally seeing the light! The light continued to flash in the woods on the right side of the road at various times after that, but this time the light was more "muted" and showed in flashes like it usually did when I seen it before. When it first appeared moments before it wasn't flashing. It was just a steady glow and it was brighter.

My sister called out to the light to "COME HERE!" and after a few minutes it flashed just a few yards from the car on her side! We stayed out there for a bit after that. I even called my older sister and we were reporting what we were seeing. After a while we finally left, satisfied that we seen the light!

On my next visit a week ago I went out to the site again, but this time I was alone. I didn't go over the the field side on this visit being as the dirt roads were still a bit wet from a previous rain. S. Butler Rd has the tendency to bog you down or even slide you off on either side of the road into the deep trenches, but the dirt road on Reedy Springs Ct isn't near as bad.

I parked, shut the lights out, then made the call. After just a few minutes I saw faint flashes to my left in the woods not too far from the car, so I left quickly.

The last time I saw it was just last night. I had just come from a club in North Carolina and it was after 3 going on 4 am. I wasn't quite ready to go home yet so I told myself I would head out that way to kill a little time.

I first drove down to S. Butler Rd to go to the field. At the time I was doing a video documenting the experience live, but the video got cut short due to a malfunction. "No worries" I said.

I didn't bother making the call to the light over at the field side, nor did I see anything, so I drove over to the Reedy Springs Ct side.

After I parked I shut off all the lights and opened my sunroof and made the call to the light about 3 times. It wasn't long after that when I saw a light suddenly appear from the edge of the woods on the right side of the road about 20 yards ahead of me, then the light came out into the road. This time the light appeared bright like it did the time before last when I saw it with my sister. When I saw that I immediately clicked on my headlights and the light was instantly gone - just like that. I decided to leave being as I was alone and not knowing if that light was going to come up on me! Nonetheless, the experience was exhilarating!

So this has been my recent experiences involving this "ghost light". It continues to be something that fascinates me now as much as it did when I very first saw it! No one knows for sure what it is, although it does have a legend behind it. There is no doubt however, that the light is definitely something paranormal, and interesting all the same.

Hi valkricry!

I'm not for sure but I'm under the impression that the light just didn't want to be recorded based on the way everything happened.

There is definitely an intelligence behind this light, that's for sure. That actually makes it even more freaky when you think about it...

Wow, Dee, you're update? Just - wow! It does sound like it doesn't want to be recorded. Or perhaps its frequency/energy is too high to record?

Hey all,

So I'm back with another update. My last conversation regarding this phenomenon on this post was with [at] Lost_Voyage_11, but as always, anyone is welcome for discussion (bar any trolling, mind you).

I've been going to see this light every week still and have seen it on every occasion. Nothing new. Blah blah. It's just the usual story to tell as nothing out of the ordinary happened. However, tonight was a different story...

I ventured out to Bingham to see the light tonight sometime after 9pm. Being as we had a little bit of rain in my area earlier today (although it didn't last long and it did get sunny most of the latter part of the afternoon forth) I didn't bother to go down to the first dirt road on the field side (S. Butler rd) due to the risk of getting bogged down on the wet road, so I went down to the "woods side" (Reedy Springs ct). My intention tonight was to finally record this light so that the world would finally get to see it, but it didn't quite go as planned...

As I got to the "turn around spot" on Reedy Springs ct, I parked, shut off all my lights, and had my phone ready to record, so I rolled back my sunroof and talked to my phone a bit while recording stating my intentions that I was going to try to record the light and ask it a few questions. So, I did just that...

I said to the light as I made the call "Bingham light, I mean you no disrespect or harm in any way, but I would like to record you tonight so that the world may finally see you. I would like for you to show your light bright for me tonight! Thank you!" (I must note that I chose doing it through the sunroof because it is TOO SCARY to roll down the side windows in that area. You really won't understand how creepy it is unless you go out there yourself. It just feels much safer having the sunroof open and recording/communicating with the light that way).

Anyway...as I held my phone out through the sunroof I was actually seeing the light with my bare eyes in the lefthand side of the woods just a few yards ahead, but it was very faint and matte, whereas prior to this I actually asked the light if it would show up bright for me.

To shorten the story a bit, this went on for some time, but what I noticed that every time I would pull my phone back into the car with me and start talking to the recording session and then end it to start a new session (as I didn't want to make the sessions too long) the light would THEN SHOW UP brightly while I didn't have my phone on it recording it! (In other words... When the coast was clear) That right there told me something...

So...this is where it gets freaky... I then decided to ask the light the questions whether or not it was actually an alien, interdimensional being, or was it really the spirit of a person, and I mentioned that if it didn't want to answer me then just let me know without harming me. I was talking to the video recording saying all of this first, then I stuck the phone out the sunroof and yelled the exact question to the light.

Right after that I had just seen the light a few yards ahead, this time coming from the left side of the woods and quickly going to the righthand patch of woods when IMMEDIATELY after that I felt a BIG THUD BEHIND my car as if something intentionally bumped up against it!

IMPOSSIBLE!

I can see if I didn't even see the light at all or maybe I seen it somewhere around my car going towards the back, but it was at least 10-15 yards ahead, if not a little more, immediately before this happened!

Although I was startled and looked all around me, I stayed put telling myself I'm not moving until I know for sure I got this light recorded. I started checking the recorded footage and that is when I felt the wind pick up even more (It was already doing so the whole time, but it just did it more in this instance) and then I felt a STROOOONG PALPABLE sense of dread and terror coming from the back seat of my car. It was just as if the light was back there telling me that I'm tired of you, get out of here NOW.

I immediately peeled out!

When I got to the end of the road at the stop sign, I stopped and told the light "I thank you for showing yourself tonight. Again, I meant no harm to you in any way and my intentions were genuine. But DO NOT bring your [at] $$ home with me! Stay here where you belong and I'm not playing!"

I just wanted to make sure that I was firm with it so that it would not follow me home. I did that for the simple fact of the sense of dread I felt inside my car while I was further back down the road. It seemed that it was in the car with me.

As I pulled onto the hwy (34), just a few yards ahead four or five deer ran out across from the left side of the road. I was only going about 30 mph but I ended up hitting the last one. It rolled out in the road several times in my lane before it quickly oriented itself back up and ran back the way it came from while the others continued to cross.

I cussed up a STORM as I kept driving and eventually pulled over about a quarter mile ahead to get out and check the damage. Luckily from what I saw, there was only some fur and the left side headlight cracked, but that was it.

When I finally got home I went through all of the footage that I recorded tonight and I did not pick up ANY bit of the light whatsoever. But I did manage to see it with the naked eye a few times when it did show up.

Having said all of this, I think that the light didn't want to be recorded and that's why it behaved the way it did, and the last bit of what happened to be was the light itself warning me...

Hello [at] The_Lost_Voyage_11. My apologies for the late response. I have been busy the past week and haven't had a chance to revisit the site.

You have provided some very wonderful thoughts here to take into consideration! Especially regarding the portals.

The portal you found in the abandoned logging facility near you seems very intriguing. I am going to check out your story the first chance I get because that is intriguing. I really wonder what made a portal form there myself.

You may be onto something about the inter dimensional being theory and I'm really considering it now, whereas before I (along with MANY others) thought the Bingham Light was the ghost of a man with a lantern. I really loved the way you explained your theory on this.

I do agree that there seems to be some sort of shift that is thinning the veil between dimensions. Whereas before the normal thought was that the physical world was all that people believed in, now more and more people are now having paranormal experiences and waking people up. The frequency is indeed raising and there is a shift. It's fascinating really.

I really thank you for everything you provided here. Very deep and wonderful thoughts that I resonate with!

In regards to the Bingham Light, I haven't been out there the past weekend or so because we had some rainy weather and I don't want to chance getting bogged down the dirt roads in the area. Whenever I do make it out there again, I really do hope that I'm able to come back here with something especially interesting! We'll see how it goes!

Thanks for the discussion!

Hello Dee-J, I'm glad that my comments resonated. It's definitely something really amazing that you're engaging with.

I can add a bit more since you appear open minded. We don't yet know why these portals form where they do, there could be something about the area, water, laylines, a host of different things coming together. Sometimes human emotion can play into it, particularly if the place is infused with strong emotion. It doesn't always have to do with a traumatic death or murder or some sort of ritual performed there.

For example, I encountered a high vibration energy portal near my home in an abandoned building. The building was until a decade ago used as part of a logging facility. There should be no reason that a portal should be there, based on some of the suggestions I made above, yet it was there. There was a small stream, nearby, a HUGE amount of electricity was funneled into the building at one point and there were cell towers nearby. All that combined could have assisted in the portal being there. I don't know and if you are curious to know more, you can find the story under my profile.

The other thing that may help, is that if this is an inter dimensional being, the laws of physics and reality for that matter may operate differently where they are from. That's why they appear as a light and move the way they do. We know that when a loved one passes successfully and comes back to visit, it isn't always easy. Sometimes they appear as a light, or a smell (like cologne or a cigar they enjoyed in life) or maybe even in our dreams. It's because they are of a higher vibration and have to try to come down to our level as best they can. Ghosts are different, they haven't fully passed on and are stuck in a sort of in between place. To manifest they have to draw energy from their environment. They are of a lower vibrational frequency.

This being could be a very high vibration which is why you can't see it clearly and how it moves could be akin to the difference between how a man moves on the earth and how he moves on the moon. Still it seems like the gravity would be denser here on earth, but if the being still maintains the higher frequency... All in all I'm speculating but it gives you the general idea.

One last thing, is that these kinds of bizarre phenomena and much more are being reported in greater frequency, all over the planet, whole communities talk about strange encounters, time slips, landscape changes, etc. The veil between the worlds and what we consider reality sure seems to be thinning. I honestly think our overall vibrational frequency is higher which enables us to see and access more than ever before.

You are a pioneer my friend, with true curiosity, exploring what many would run from or refuse to accept. Logic and rational have served humanity well until recently, but logic is a tool used for dealing with only a small part of reality, and this planet we live on is contained within a much broader reality! Good Luck!

[at] The_Lost_Voyage_11, Greetings! I just wanted to say that I am very honored that you have been following my updates on this experience! It makes me glad to know that there are others also fascinated by this!

I definitely agree with your sentiments. This "ghost light" is definitely intelligent. It does seem to sense fear, intent and the curiosity of those who come to visit - which seems to explain the way it interacts differently with different people. On my very first visit back in January 2010 I was VERY scared being as it was my first time. It came from a distant tree line behind a huge field and seemed to approach us as if chasing us. Ever since then I have been going back for the thrill of it. I have only seen it sparsely since despite my curiosity, but here lately since this new year came in it has been showing itself to me readily. Perhaps it senses that I'm genuinely interested in it and I have no ill intent with it (like cussing at it, pranking it, etc), and as such it hasn't done anything to try to harm me as it has often been reported to have done to some other visitors.

I think you really nailed the correct term for this thing as being "Interdimensional" rather than "Extraterrestrial". It has characteristics of a "ghostly lantern" and of course an intelligence behind it, but I am still curious as to what it exactly is. Maybe if it is interdimensional it may still perhaps be someone's "spirit"? I think that would only be answered if perhaps I or someone else would finally brave up to it and come out with some recording equipment and ask it some questions of its origins. I cannot lie though, upon seeing that thing I am not sure if anyone would want to without running, lol!

There is definitely something about the area it haunts. I am not sure exactly what happened in the 1800s since this phenomena was first sighted, but something definitely caused it to become a portal for this thing. The legend behind is that a man was killed by a train that used to run in the area long ago in the 1800s but that is just lore. No one knows for sure.

Now this part is definitely interesting... I just looked on Google Maps, and the whole area that the entity roams is confirmed to form a triangle (prior to this, I always thought it formed a rectangle) and the dirt roads in the area are all connected (S. Butler rd & Reedy Springs ct). That's WILD! So there may actually be something to that in terms of a portal being there!

You brought up an interesting and important point - The next time I go out there I MUST remember to ask it kindly if it would reveal itself on film. Being as I have visited it so much and it has become so used to my presence, perhaps it just might! We will definitely see!
Once again, thanks for chiming in!

Hello Dee-J, I have been following your submissions on this Bingham Light and find it quite fascinating.

I did want to share that the overall feeling I got from your latest update is that there is intelligence here, 'it' is aware you are looking for and observing it and 'it' is looking to interact with you. The light, whatever it is, is curious about and drawn to you. To be clear, I don't sense any danger here, these encounters feel positive.

This appears to be extra dimensional, not so much extraterrestrial. There is a portal in the area enclosed within these roads. I wonder if they even form a sort of triangle. Either way it moves in and out of this dimension or plane of reality. Because of the difference between the planes of reality, that may be why it 'appears' as a light or moves as it does.

Something else that occurred to me, is that if you choose to film it again, ask ahead of time, before you begin filming if it would be kind enough to reveal itself on the film. I don't know why, but try it and see what happens. I'll be curious to see what develops and await your next update! Good Luck!

Ok guys, I'm back again with a little mini update about this Bingham Light thing. Ever since my last comment on this story I've been back every single weekend since then and I saw it every time. I stated in the story and previous comments that sightings of this phenomena is RARE so I'm "enjoying" it while I can. However, nothing significant happened on those visits so I didn't bother writing about it.

Just tonight though, my younger sister (from the story) and I went out to the site again together. We started to go down to the field side at first (on S. Butler rd) but I decided against it because something felt "off". I don't really know why but as I peered down the road this time it made me want to turn around. We were only a quarter way down the dirt road and pulling up right at this old church that sits there passed a mini trailer park. After turning around and getting back to the stop sign, we made a left on to the main highway (Hwy 34) and down to Reedy Springs ct about a mile away.

Making the left to turn onto the other dirt road (Reedy Springs ct) we got about ¾ of the way in and we saw the light flicker in the woods to my left, and this was just right in the area that I was about to pull into so that I can turn my car around and face the direction we came from (The "turn-around" spot is a T-section in the road, just to give you a visual)

We saw the light a few times before we even parked and had the chance to make any call out to it, so it was already roaming in the area - which is FREAKY.

As per usual, I turned off all of the lights in the car, rolled back my sun roof, and we proceeded to chit chat a bit about the light and other paranormal things.

After seeing the light within the first few minutes we were there we noticed that we hadn't seen it after a while, so I proceeded to call out to it - "Bingham Light, come out!" "Bingham Light, show your light!".

Several minutes went by and it did eventually come out.

To make a VERY long story short, as we sat there in the car for about two hours, we saw the light MULTIPLE TIMES! This is the most I've EVER seen it in one visit (although of course this is probably one of the longest times I've ever stayed out there too).

We noticed that there was something about that particular patch of woods just ahead (around 5-15 yards) that the light stayed around. It didn't show up anywhere behind us or around us to the sides. It would show up on either side of the woods at random. It would either flicker in woods or it would come out towards the edge of the woods and disappear right before getting onto the dirt road, then IMMEDIATELY appear on the other side of the woods as if it didn't even cross the road. Sometimes it would be a faint flicker and then sometimes it showed up as a bright flash like a shooting star or a lantern. The latter was more freaky as it looked JUST LIKE an actual lantern flickering out, except that it didn't illuminate anything around it. It was always either low to the ground or about mid-height.

My sister and I were talking more about it and I brought up that a commentor (on this very story) as well as someone else I talked to recently both suggested that this thing may be of extraterrestrial origin instead of an actual "spirit".

As we discussed further we both saw it again a few times at random, but we both noticed that the area would always look "fuzzy" or "pixelated" right before it would appear. It was THEN that she had remembered that there was either a documentary or something that she watched once having to do with alien abductions and there was a section explaining that anytime there was a "portal" in an area you could tell because it would either look "fuzzy", "smeary", or almost like "wrinkled plastic". It was crazy because we were actually seeing certain spots in the woods around us looking fuzzy or pixelated but it didn't last long.

As time went on we continued to see the light in the woods at random intervals. After finally having our "fill" and satisfaction of seeing the light so many times we finally decided to make our way back home. As we were leaving we yelled out of the sunroof thanking the light for showing itself and we yelled that we didn't mean any harm or disrespect to it.

So folks, the light is still out there. Again, I've been so lucky to have seen it on every visit since the new year began. In fact, I've seen it more within the past month alone than I ever have over the past 15 years!

PS: I meant to mention earlier on that on the past two visits I actually did a live video of me documenting the experience, and when the light did show up it never appeared on the video or any of the stills. It was just darkness. The light seems to be too dim for that. I ended up deleting the footage thinking that it would be of no real use, but next time I go out there I may try it again to see if I can actually capture it on video. That would be a historic moment and proof of evidence of this ghost light's existence after over 200 years of sightings!

Rajine - You know what... I SWEAR it's crazy that you say that, because just last week I was talking to someone else about this, and they suggested the exact same thing!

I wouldn't be surprised really if it turns out to be something extraterrestrial rather than an actual "spirit" of some sort, especially considering that there is other very similar "ghost light" phenomena in other areas of my state and elsewhere, with very similar lore behind them as well.

It really does make you think...

Hi Dee-J

Fascinating encounter, here's a wild thought, what if it is extraterrestrial, maybe some aliens out and about 😅.

I'm intrigued to read about the legend behind these lights, if you can share it?

Hey Berggraf38! Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely be checking this thing out again soon and report any details!

I've been having a lucky streak lately, having seeing it 5 times in a row. This is very rare as it doesn't always come out. So I'm enjoying the encounters while they last, lol.

Hello all,

I'm leaving this as a comment as opposed to an edit to the original story (for obvious reasons).

So...I was following my older sister back from "out of town" (just 40 minutes or so away) and on the way back to our hometown we ended up on hwy 34, which inevitably led to the community of 'Bingham')

Since I was following behind her I called her and told her to go ahead because I was going to stop by the Bingham Light being as we were literally passing right by the dirt roads.

I first drove down to the field side (S. Butler Rd) and like the 4 previous times there was nothing, although I didn't bother calling out to either, so I drove around to the other side (Reedy Springs Ct)

I ended up seeing the light TWICE there.

The first time, I parked, turned the lights off and made the call per usual. After a few minutes I looked to my left at the edge of the woods about 10 yards ahead and saw what appeared to be "fuzz". In other words... That little area started to look "pixelated" and thought I saw what appeared to be little red dots but they were very faint.

My eyes were "just adjusting" I told myself

I had the sunroof open being as that's how I made the call. I glanced up through it briefly and saw a plane up above blinking in the sky... Which was an odd coincidence given the current circumstances.

Just a few moments later, to my right and a few yards ahead in the woods I saw a couple of flashes coming towards my direction.

It was the Bingham Light.

I quickly turned on the lights and peeled off.

I left rather dissatisfied, so I was debating to myself whether or not I should turn around and see it one more time, or just leave the light alone and respect the "spirit".

I got a couple of miles up the road then I finally turned around at a "T-section".

When I got back to the area and parked I immediately felt the sensation that I should not be there. Like the light or the area itself was telling me to leave. Nonetheless I braved it and told myself that I don't mean any disrespect to this light if it's indeed a spirit, but I gotta see what's up with it".

I reasoned too that being as I'm pretty much the only person in recent history that's documenting this phenomenon, I wanted to get as much information as I can.

I made the call again to the light a few times and several minutes later it came out again, but this time from the left side of the woods about 10 yards ahead or less.

The light this time was a little brighter and it did the EXACT same thing as one of the recent times just the other week when I came with my sister. It floated in a straight line from the woods and completely disappeared as soon as it got to the edge of the road, then IMMEDIATELY appeared on the opposite side at the edge of the woods! I was like "WHOOOOAAAH!"

Instead of peeling off this time, I told myself that I would stay put and see what's up with this light.

It flashed a few times in the woods for a few moments and then it seemed to be coming closer towards the car as if approaching me.

After seeing that, I admit, I couldn't take it any longer so I turned my headlights back on and bolted out of there! As I was leaving I saw it flash one more time on the right passenger side of my car by the ditch!

I finally left a little more satisfied this time.

There is definitely something to this light.
