The Lilydale Police Officer

My brother picked me from work one night. It was a Friday night, we were getting ready to hit the clubs and meet some friends. To hype us, he cranked up the volume and turned on the bass in the car. We were dancing and being really rowdy. The next thing I knew, red and blue lights were flashing behind us from a really far distance. My brother saw it too, so he lowered the sound and hit the gas to get away from the cop. Within a blink of an eye, the police car caught up with us already. He pulled us over for loud music. I was too afraid of hearing a lecture from my parents that I didn't pay attention to the cop. My brother was swearing the entire time, for sure my parents were going to take away our driving privileges.

We didn't go out that night. We kept this away from my parents. I worked my butt off to pay for that ticket. That Friday when I got my paycheck, we headed right away to the courthouse to pay for the ticket. When we got there to the front desk, the lady said we could pay for it with her. I was pulling out money to pay for the ticket then suddenly the lady was laughing. She said I didn't need to pay for it because the police officer who gave us the ticket have been dead for a long time on Lily Dale Drive. She said there's a lot of people who come time to time to pay for tickets issued by this deceased officer and she still get amused from it.

This is Lilydale in the Twin Cities MN area, have anyone heard about this or had any experiences related to this officer?

Might be that of Clyde Nelson, whom I never heard what happened after he left Lilydale as Chief Of Police.
I use to live there in Lilydale, late 60's to early- mid 70's.
Any one know of a Haunted House for Rent or Sale?

I live by lilydale. Its a road along side of the river. Back in the 1930's it was a community called the lower westside. There is also caves that are haunted on the other side of it. You will experience weird activity surounding the area. There is a ghost lady in white that walks and crosses the street to the Holiday gas station on wabasha and then disappears.

What is the officers name? Did you still keep that ticket. Which street did you travel? I live in Oakdale, MN. Is Lilydale, MN is close to Mendota Heights? I'm not going to try but that's freaky and it's awesome like Frawin was saying, it would be nice if we all get tickets from dead cops.

Hi Lee! I think that this does sound like an urban legend. However, a lot of the stories on this site could be legends or just false. I think that would be pretty darn creepy to get a ticket from a 'ghost police officer'! Thanks for sharing your story. ~Shelby ❤ 😊

hmmmm, I wonder if every town has a legend like this? Almot like cry baby bridge. If indeed you have the ticket, I would be very interested to have professionals take a look at it and maybe do a handwriting analysis, just to be sure. I would then check into a program that could investigate and telivise this place.

God Bless! ❤

I remember going down that road with my friends all the time. They REFUSED to blast the music because of the Lilydale police officer. It is a creepy road, though.

My cousin said this he's met the dead officer. But I'll agree, with the rest - sounds like an urban legend.

I haven't had experiences like this but I have to agree with Martin that this pretty much sounds like an urban legend, but yet I neither will judge.

I'm sure I've heard something like this before. It was something about a motorbike. I'll have to ask my dad, he's the one who told me.

wow, thats really odd! I wonder if it is another cop who just likes to play jokes on people from time to time or something. I mean, the ticket was only for loud music, right?? Nothing too destructive.

Sounds like a urban legend to me, but who knows, I'm publishing it anyway, who am I to judge. I wonder if other people who have experienced it will pop up.
