A Ghost On My Chest

This is not a dream.

I could be having a dream about me being rich or it could be a nightmare. When I awake from my dream and try to get out the bed I can't get up. I can't move I can't roll off the bed it feels like something is sitting on my chest. This is very real when I finally get out the bed it's like I'm out of breath, my heartbeat is abnormal.

This has happened to me on more than one occasion. I feel like I'm being told by a ghost to kill myself or something of course. I would never do such a thing but this is the vibe that I get from this. I have to say that it not only happens at my home but at friends houses that I have stayed at. So I know it's not the house, what am I to think?

I have spoken about this to a number of people and they said they have had the same thing happen to them. I've tried to compare any similarities in the people I've asked and all I could get is that we are all around the same age, which is 19-21. If this happened to more than one person is this what the people who commit suicide experience before the they commit such a thing.

Does a ghostly spirit visit us every night and some of the spirits stay a tad bit longer because they like your sole. I don't know what to think.

What do you think of this?

well me growing up I was told there are different types of ghosts. And THIS ONE IS THE MOST COMMON ONE, it happened to me twice and it happened to my mum all the time when she was young. But there's no harm to it. Well I have been told that it basically lays on top of you and you cannot speak or move and like you, you feel out of breath later on. But I heard it is because of the position you are sleeping in.

It sounds like sleep paralysis. I get that from time to time, it passes. It won't hurt you, it's just that some of your brain is still asleep and it can induce auditory and visual hallucinations at times. It can be completely scientifically explained.
It can be a terrifying experience.

If you still think it could be demonic do whatever you think will help. Stress and exhaustion can contribute to SP so if you feel better having cleansings etc do so.

I had the exact same thing happen to me in 2006. And yes, it is a Demon. I was possessed for almost 3 months because I ignored this first warning sign. I won't say it's name on here for obveious reasons. My advice to you march2 is get your house blessed by a priest. Hang a Rosary above your bed, whatever it takes. Because if you don't fix this quick, because it only gets worse if you try to ignore it.

I used to have a similar problem let me tell you what it is; a demon; a bad spirit; a deviant entity, a t*at! The only I got this to stop was saying a short prayer which I was taught when young and sleep on my right. I doubt your a Muslim, so I suggest you do this instead; SLEEP ON YOUR RIGHT, do not sleep on your back face up; this gives demons the oppoortunity to attack you. When I had night attacks, after I could move I would immediatly turn to my right (say prayer) and trust me that nasty good for nothing evil piece of work had to look elswhere for his sick ghostly kicks!

I experienced similar for years, except for the thing telling you to kill yourself, it sounds like sleep paralysis.

People will disagree but I say to prepare for the worst, that it is a malevolent spirit.

Prayer really works... The name of Jesus is something they do not like. Who doesn't like Jesus?

very interesting story... I think this is an old hag... Its also called sleep paralysis... But some people call it The NightMare due to thiere experience Physiologically, sleep paralysis is closely related to the paralysis that occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is known as REM atonia. So Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the body paralysis persists. And this leaves the person fully conscious, but unable to move. The paralysis can last from several seconds to several minutes "after which the individual may experience panic symptoms and the realization that the distorted perceptions were false".ISP appears to be far more common and recurrent among people of African descent than among whites or Nigerian Africans" and is often referred to within African communities as "the Devil on your back... Very scary but... Yeah almost everything... Good Luck

Fear not! Sounds like a classic SLEEP PARALYSIS. It's something I regularly experience and have learned to work my way around it! Here's something I wrote if you're interested: http://mydeliriumdreamsicle.blogspot.com/2009/08/sleep-paralysis-my-regular-guest.html

Not to make light of your situatiojn at all, but this certainly sounds like a cliassic case of sleep paralysis. You can research this phenomenon on the inter net, google it. There are some very helpful tips to conquering (or at least understanding and learning to live with (this problem).

God Bless!

I have similar experiences like this but I am able to get up and push away the preasure on my chest. It feels asthough someone has both hands on your chest and are pushing down, making breathing almost impossible. I tend to lie on my side when this happens and it stops. Sometimes I get the feeling that when I close my eyes someone is staring me right in the face, vertually touching their nose with mine. And you can feel the breeze on your skin asthough their breathing on you. I get scared to open my eyes sometimes... 😨

Perhaps it is some sort of thing that is testing whether you want to live. If it happens again say in your mind 'I want to live get off and leave'. ❤

I would say its probably sleep paralysis. I've had this happen to me a lot and I understand how scary it feels but I don't think you're in any kind of danger. I've been experiencing this for years and its gotten easier over time. However if it bothers you or seems to get worse you should definitely seek help. Good luck!

Doesn't sound like a ghost sounds demonic to me and it is possible that it is affecting each of you. I saw something on paranormal state once about a womans sister that she said there was something in their house and shortly after moving in she killed herself. I would deffinatly be cautious you don't want something like that getting in your mind. Each of you are at risk and I would try to find some help.
