I'm a newcomer here, but I've been reading for a while now. Forgive me if this story seems a bit tame. It's not exactly the scariest event in the world. Any feedback would be appreciated.
I'm a student at the University for the Creative Arts, in Rochester (Kent). I live in a flat in the university's halls of residence. The way my bedroom is laid out, my desk is directly underneath my windowsill, so I am always facing it when I am sitting at my laptop. I'm sitting there as I type this. The room itself doesn't feel haunted or particularly affected by the paranormal in the slightest. Okay, so I occasionally feel uneasy, but I'd say that's normal.
One time, however, something did happen, a few months ago now. I was sitting down at my desk, mooching around on my laptop in what was probably nearing the early hours. My curtains were closed, as I live on the ground floor and don't want any weirdos peeking in. I looked up from my screen, and protruding from underneath the curtain was a single, limp, reaching hand. It was that colour that's midway between flesh coloured and grey, as if it was dying. I stared at it for a few seconds until it, for lack of a better word, dissipated. I didn't see it disappear, but after a few seconds, it was just gone. Seeing it didn't scare me much. Of course it shocked me, but it was one of those moments where you think "did that really happen?"
To this day, I am unsure whether or not it was actually there. But even so, I have a particularly vivid image of it. It was a left hand (I think), and it looked as if it had been passed through a paper shredder, or something. I haven't seen it, or anything else, since.
I don't know if anyone will believe me on this, as I know it sounds like something straight out of a horror film, and I don't much care whether you do or not, as I know what I saw. But if you do believe me, please offer your thoughts. Thanks for reading.
