Shadow Person Or The Grim Reaper

It happened when I was around 9 years old. One night, I decided to sleep in my living room couch after growing tired of my bed. Tucking myself in, I fell asleep. After a few hours, I awoke. I turned my head to check the time and after adjusting my vision to the dark, I could see it was 1:00 A.M. As I turned my head to go back to sleep, I suddenly froze and the feeling of fear engulfed me. I could not move nor could I speak. In front of me, was this very dark cloaked figure what appeared to be floating in my hallway. The figure was darker than the hallway.

Back and forth, the figure would float into my brothers' room (the door to my brothers' room was closed) and past my parent's room. I got the feeling that the figure did not want me to notify anyone that he was present at the moment.

After floating a couple of times, I was finally able to move and hid my head under the covers until I dozed off. The oddest part about this experience was the fact the cloaked figure held a scythe.

To this day 10 years later, I cannot explain exactly what I saw. I do not know if I saw the cloaked Shadow Person or the Grim Reaper. I have trouble talking about this experience in the fear of not being believed and because it scares me. I wouldn't blame anyone for not believing me especially after mentioning the Grim, but it really happened and I was truly awake. If anyone can help me, I am open for suggestions.

Omg I looked outside and then saw this on a tree yes its not special effects you might not see it but others do the the first pic its not clear but you see a lady hugging a little girl and in the second on you see a cloaked figure with a little girl standing next to him. Unfortunately I can't show you the pictures but ill post them somehow I find the cloaked figure one disturbing we live near a cemetery so I'm not sure what is means!

I've had similar experiences but the reaper I see is always a little girl with white hair and shes never really scared me but after that two of ny dogs got hit by cars and died. But I also see a lot of other entities. I see ghost a lot cause I'm so open to the paranormal and I also feel them if they don't want me to see them. ❤ ❤ 😊

i had a similar thing happen to me exepct it was quite short so I had just got finished taking a shower and I was about to go to bed when I swear to god I shouted help asloud as I could this shadow person or grim reaper (execpt it looked more like a person in a normal hoodie with no face) peeking round the corner of the door and I swear I was not insane I may sometimes think I see stuff but this was real I cry thinking about it now I felt cold even though I was in a warm bed I felt COLD I hid under the covers and heard my mum come down she ran into my bedroom and asked what happened I said I was about 8 when this happened so I said "a man was staring at me and he had no face" my mum said where was he I said he was looking around the door I was scared so much I didn't get much sleep I knew about the grim reaper when I was 8 so I thought he would come back I seriously do not think you are insane 😉

hauntedcricket: Thank you 😁 It is reassuring to know that there are people out there that don't view me as crazy. What you say about the shadow person does sound a lot like what I saw and now that you mentioned it, what I saw was also tall. I believe in your theory and it would make sense at the way he was acting when I saw him.

By the way, do you see this figure everyday? Also did you feel anything when you saw the figure such as fear or any negativity?

I no longer live in the home. My cousin now lives there and he has reported hearing and physically feeling strange things there. I haven't told him about my experience. All he knows is that I too have experienced strange things there. Thank you for the advice. I will make sure to remember that if I am to ever encounter such thing again 😁

Hey,
I just found this site and saw your post. So, I don't think you are crazy. We have a similar annoyance where I am living. The shadow person I saw was sort of abnormally tall and thin and solid black. He hangs around outside and seems to peer in the window of the living room and is around the perimeter of the house but can't seem to get into the house. My theory is that he and your visitor were just negative when they were alive and held onto the negativity after death. He or she is probably just confused and looking for answers. But ignore them. You can't help them.

OH. MY. GOD. My house is desinged EXACTLY like yours! With the living room in the same spot, my brother's room in the same spot, my mom's room in the same spot, etc. AND I saw the same kind of thing in the same place before! 😨 It looked exactly the same except it glowed white and it carried a walking stick, not a scythe. But it was hooded, and it floated around the same exact places as the thing you saw!

Please allow me to reword my question: HOW were you able to SEE a BLOOD stain on a black Shadow? Generally (Come to think of it, I do not ever recall hearing the opposite), if someone bleeds on black, it is NOT seen. Red on Black. Black cancels out Red.

Yeah its happen to me a lot seeing black shadow that I feel its mean they not happy and need to see someone who can help them find into peace or light that was I believe! But its will not hurt you and you just special!xx

That's scary! A blood stain? Creepy!
There was nothing weird about the shadow just that it was there and the scythe. Other than that, he was just pitch black all over.

Did you see anythang weird about the black shadow caus last night I was walking around town and I ran into a black Shadow just standing on the side walk looking at me and he had a blood stain on his robe

Nephele: The scythe was visible but there was no detail. It was just pitch black. It could have been. I found it very odd as to why it kept floating back and forth.

Shadead: It really makes sense. Never really thought there were more than on reaper. I never thought about that. Thank you 😊

Doubt it was a demon in the first place possible a reaper but think one reaper to 6 billion population is a bit of a BS task like ol Kris Kringle (Santa Claus) Most likely and this is my 2 cents:

General idea would state that with large population of the world numerous reapers ould roam a section of the world and collect the souls required hence the scythe, that could be what you saw.

was the scythe visible or was it a shadow of a scythe?
And if it was death then somebody may have died...
Maybe it was some sort of demon of death and was going back and forth communicating with angels that changed someone's fate.

There were single-bladed scythes commonly used back then as well.

There are also some with straight handles, but I can't find a good picture of one.

Sometimes spirits will tug on people to make them aware to the prescence, or to get their attention. Many spirits that have not crossed need to complete something that they did not complete in life, or need something of theirs found. I would look into a map of which farmers owned which bits of land, and see where your cousins/your old house falls, and research from there.

Thank you for the picture. However, what I saw did not look like that, rather it was what appeared a blade on a stick. Did farmers have a scythe with just the blade on stick?

Pendragon: It makes sense how spirits wear a cloak to maintain an easier form. Well, my cousin told me that he has experienced a couple things in that house, but he only told me of one. He said that while sleeping in the room (where my parents room was at) he awoke in the middle on the night to being pulled by his ankles. He asked his girlfriend if she was pulling him and realized she was sleeping right next to him. He couldn't explain what it was but he assured me it wasn't his girlfriend

Oh, by the way; in the late 1800's, early 1900's, farmers were indeed still using scythes that looked much like a reaper's scythe;

Actually, many ghosts can appear "cloaked", instead of having a human shape. It is easier for them, especially if they lack enough energy to pull themself into a human shape. A cloak, because of the fluidity and general "blob-iness" of the shape means it's an easier form to maintain.

It's good to know that no one did die in your family, though. What sort of things has your cousin experienced? Any specifics?

blood2121: I have never heard that the Grim could do that. That's interesting. I have seen one other spirit but it wasn't in that home. However, there have been things that occurred in that house before that was unexplainable. My cousin that lives there now has felt some very creepy things. Thank you. If I need to talk, I will text you.
