Jav and Cosmo - after reading your comments and doing some brief research, I agree that my seeing faces in mundane objects is matrixing. Thus, not exactly paranormal... Or is it? 😉

You're "rip in time" theory is interesting. Stephen Hawking talks about "wrinkles in time" in much the same way there are "wrinkles" or "ridges" in even the smoothest looking objects when they are magnified enough to see them. Honestly, my first thought was, "time is not tangible. So, how can there be wrinkles?" But I need to do more research. This is an area of great interest to me as I am working on a long term (already 4-5 years in the making and likely to be 3 to 4 times that) project to debunk the Big Bang Theory. Alas, that's a story for a different kind of website.

Cosmo - yes, the 'noise" is hard to describe. The TV analogy was the best I could come up with and that's a rough fit at best.

Thanks for the comments and the link. I'll check it out later. Time for bed!

That's a pretty good example Cosmo. And yes, I'd really like to hear what he would have to say about this experience. It's right up his alley I think.

Oh yeah, Rook would have a great time discussing this. In fact I am remembering the story he posted on YPS about seeing that building in the middle of the park. Remember that. TruthInDarkness, I think you would enjoy that story. Here is the link.

Jav, I'm so glad you were thinking the same thing. And you are right images in trees, towels, and such do fall under matrixing.

I think Rook knows about that stuff, at least a lot more than I do anyway. It would be interesting to see what he has to say, huh?

Plus, the alternate universe theory is related to the string theory isn't it?

Cosmo,
I was kind of thinking about the rips in time myself, after I reread this account. I think you might have something there.

Oh I misunderstood, I thought you were seeing actual images now, but much larger and at different times. So I was asking if those images were connected to something that happened after you saw them. Kind of like a premonition. But now I see you explain these images as "noise" and almost transparent. So in my head I'm picturing the snowy stuff on the tv when there is no signal and those wavy lines that come up on a tv show or movie when someone is remembering something from the past. LOL I hope that made sense. It's kind of hard to describe. I am going to throw out a theory and say that you could be seeing rips in time, or a doorway of some kind to an alternate dimension. I'm not positive about it, just bouncing a few ideas around. 😊

Seeing faces or objects in tree bark, towels etc. Wouldn't that fall under the Matrixing category?

TruthInDarkness,
That's interesting. Because you say it is more difficult to bring these images up now. So I'm wondering if it may be because of failing vision, even though it is only slight?

Jav - I used to have better than 20/20 vision. Unfortunately, not anymore. Probably about 20/30 or so.

510mot - It's interesting that you bring up seeing faces... More on that in a moment. As a child, I had not expectations. I didn't try to do it; at least not at first. It just happened. I don't know for sure that this particular type of experience is caused by anything paranormal. Maybe. I did occasionally see people. Keep in mind that these images were not life size. I would not necessarily see the person head-to-toe. And it usually wasn't anyone I knew, but could have been someone I saw on the street or in a crowd at some point. Most of the time it seemed like random unrelated objects.

Bacchaegrl - That's correct. The experiences that I described above were not of seeing faces in mundane objects. Also, I was rarely frighted by what I saw.

Cosmogal926 - It very well could be my mind creating images (i.e. Random firing of neurons) just because it was dark and my mind "wanted" to see something. The other stuff does happen in real time. The interference or noise. Like I said, the interference is nearly transparent, but I can tell it's there. It usually appears as "sea of noise" across the floor. Covering the floor, but just above it. Since this is "noise" and not really an image, it does not have any meaning to me. It just is. Does it ever come up again in the same place you mean? Probably, but I don't really focus on where I am when I see it. So, I'm not sure.

Seeing faces in mundane objects... This happens every so often and at random. In other words, I won't be thinking about anyone in particular or trying to see something. I've seen faces in towels, floor/wall tiles, tree bark, wooden items (not carved to look like faces), and on other strange items where I wouldn't dream of seeing a face. It's never someone I recognize and had only been a bit unnerving once or twice; mainly due to the face looking angry or evil. Never on a slice of toast, potato chip, popcorn, or anything of that nature though.

Here's another thought. Do you have 20/20 vision? I tried to go into this theory I have about vision on another story but it did not pan out. It has to do with being far-sighted. But never the less, this is an interesting topic that I'd enjoy delving into.

You have a very interesting topic here. I can relate to these visions in the dark as I have done the same thing when I was growing up. It was told to me that it was just my eyes adjusting to the dark and my mind creating images or playing back things that you have seen throughout the day. I also agree with 510mot regarding recognizing images in certain patterns. I believe that is what they call matrixing. Now you say you seeing images bigger and at random times of the day. Do any of those images have meaning to you? Do they ever come up again as something that happened in real time?

510mot, I don't know if that is the case here. He isn't describing seeing faces in mundane objects; I think he is describing seeing things that shouldn't be there, like visions of some sort.

Am I right, TruthInDarkness? You are seeing things that shouldn't be there? Odd visions? I don't know what that is. I've never heard anything like that before. Except in hallucinations. I don't mean to say you are hallucinating, but the mind is a complicated thing, who knows what's going on inside of it all the time? Good luck with getting a paranormal team together. I bet you could look a team up on line and ask them if you could tag along. I've tried doing that though, without much luck. If I lived in Virginia, I'd totally be on board!

With the mind's subconscious ability to recognize facial patterns in random objects (i.e. Jesus in a slice of toast), what you seek to see you often will. When staring into the darkness, do you have expectation of seeing something paranormal when you have seen paranormality? Likewise, were you out to see "anything" during the times you saw the more mundane things? The mind is indeed a powerful tool but nontheless susceptible to suggestion.
