flashy_elf: The last part of that story's the ONLY part you're unsure of? 😆...Think about it: if insects bit one's face off, down to the muscle, who the hell would think, "Oh, I'll just throw on some more foundation"?...In your friend's great x5 Grandmother's day there wasn't any such thing, and there certainly weren't bathrooms LOL...

I suggest you do a little research about Mary I, daughter of Henry VII and Catherine of Aragon... And try not to be so gullible 😊

most people have heard of bloody mary and don't even know the story!
Well, this is the version I have heard the most at school:
Mary had just bought a new locket and she was wearing it. A stranger came up to her and said "Bad things will happen to you." Mary thought he was crazy and ran away.
The next day Mary was walking and her locket flew open and spiders went all over her face. They bit her skin off so it was just muscle. Mary tried to cover it up with makeup but the next day it got worse and the spiders bit the rest off so it was just bone.
Mary ran into the kitchen bleeding like hell and stabbed herself. Her parents said they SWORE that they saw a something fly into the bathroom from Mary's body.
The parents were so sad about Mary that they moved out.
New people came in and there were two sisters. They'd heard about Bloody Mary and wanted to try it out.
They went in the bathroom with a candle and stared into the mirror and said Bloody Mary 3x. Bloody Mary jumped out of the mirror and pulled them back in.
And apparently on Halloween if you close all the windows and doors, turn off all the lights and hold a candle, fog up a mirror, stare in the mirror and chant Bloody Mary three times, she will appear.

Not sure if that last part is true but I'm too scared to try it.
I know the rest is though... And my best friend's Great Great Great Great Great Grandmother Annie apparently went to school with Mary and was Mary's best friend and one day Mary disappeared and Annie never saw her again.

Well she isn't bad I assume. I guess it depends all about intention of the person summoning her. She is believed to have been a Queen in England [or some other kingdom] that was killed by her husband [sentenced to death by Guillotine]...sadly. =/

What do you think would have happened if you did not do anything about the stuff swinging open and did not prey. What do you think would have happened? Would Bloody Mary show herself?

So one day I was walking out because it was warm and you know! Summer is great, but I got a beeping noise coming from my iPod touch! I checked to see who it was. It was my friend Abbie (I changed her name to Abbie on this story because she doesn't like her name to be on the web) and she want me to video tape myself saying "Bloody Mary" I told that it doesn't work on camera. I was just scared because last time I said that I saw her but instead with red hair.t

The legend of bloody mary comes from mary queen of scots, after she died, mirrors were thought of to be a portal to the spirit realm or something, so people chanted the persons name they wanted to talk to and then they saw them

Someone had chanted bloody mary and claimed she had come out of the mirror and attacked her, this rumour then snowballed into what we know today 😨

Why in the World are we pulling up stories from years ago? Anyway... I posted these replies on another story here some time ago... I'm combining them here as one post...

I feel that this is a situation of an attention seeking spirit taking on the form of 'something' to gain the attention it seeks. Sensitives are more likely to feel/see something.

Here's why I think this. Spirits are attracted by energy, and a lot of energy is put out by those 'playing this game'... Nervous energy, fear, anticipation...

This is where the attention seeking spirit enters, picks up on the 'preconceived images' of whomever is 'expecting' something to happen and then the spirit uses that energy to manifest itself, looking like the image of the 'game players' mind. Any injuries could be caused by the hasty exit from the restroom or may even be psychosomatic. (ie: person is convinced it happened so the injuries appear)

Belief is not the factor here... The energy from the 'players' emotions is the focal point for the 'prankster spirit'. The spirit does not care if those 'playing' believe it's going to work. The players themselves are focusing their energy on the game, which allows the spirit to 'feel' that energy and that's what it is drawn to.

Then, if given enough energy the spirit is able to manifest and the end result is that "some people who completely don't believe in the game" go running from the room not understanding what just happened to them and looking for explanations that fit their definition of 'the world'.

I wonder if there is a way to test this theory... I've played this game before, and the room got colder and I felt as if I was being watched, but it could have just been nervous tension as well.

Just my two cents.

Respectfully,

Rook

lol, I wonder if bloody mary ever tires from being flung into all of these slumber parties and adolesant bathroom experiments. I can just see this scary witch hear her name called, sigh, shrug her shoulders and walk through some portal. The show must go on. Thanks for sharing your story... And what did we learn? By the way, does anyone know where the ideal of bloody mary comes from. Ithe name reminds me of mary queen of scotts, but I am sure you can understand why.

Thats so creepy! 😭 me and my friend are just on a sleepover now! Its weird because every body says that B Mary is black haired or blond haired! I saw a redhaird girl when it happend! I was with my friend and I choked out "I know who really killed your child!" I was scared but her knife she holding faded into a rose! ❤ ❤! I am so happy I said that or else my friend would have to tell the story for me! I don't believe B mary is so bad somebody needs to understand her!

😆 😆 😆 read this! About B-Mary! Its not TRUE! Its not even mary to begin with... Its a different spirit!

1.) why is it there so many different version?
It is because its no blood mary tho its the ritual that attract a spirit to show up...

2.) why doesn't b-mary show up? That's because there's no b-mary its just a different spirit...

-there ye go!
Sorry for my wrong grammar... I can't concentrate on p.c!

And say B-Mary because if ou say the full name on Friday the 13th (day she died I believe) she will come and haunt you! Please be as careful as you can!

bloody mary, Bloody Mary, BLOODY MARY!, these were the last words I heard come out of my friends mouth. I was only 10 when this happened. I was with my friend Sarah doing a sleepover at her house when she decided to do Bloody Mary. I warned her I said " Are you crazy or something Bloody Mary is not a myth going to get yourself killed! She is real for crying out loud Sarah your going to get yourself killed. So don't do I am serious!" and she had replied "Well how would you know you never did it." I said "i know but my brother did and he saw her he doesn't lie and if he does he can't do good ones and he saw her so she is real and he has the scar to prove it!" she replied " she isn't real and watch me prove it okay why would you believe in a stupid ghost like her she isn't real." at this point I started thinking she is crazy but I am not stopping her if she wants to do it let her. That was really mean when I thought it and I totally regret it. So I said "fine Sarah go in there but don't come crying to me when she scratches you because she is real and she doesn't like people waking her from her rest." she said "that's real nice. Okay I will come out with no scratches just watch me." she goes in and starts chanting it she becomes louder and louder then I hear a scream and banging on the door. I try to open the door but it wouldn't budge I start screaming "Sarah!" over and over then the door swings wide open and Sarah comes running out dripping in blood then she fainted. I stayed with her trying to wake her up but she didn't until like 30 minutes later when she was cleaned up and wasn't bleeding she had like 1 huge scratch on her and like 20 little I tried to ask her what had happened but she wasn't speaking apparently she was in such a state in shock that she wouldn't talk anymore poor Sarah 😭 now I know Bloody Mary is real and vowed to never let any one do it again no matter what they say 😢 so this is why I believe in Bloody Mary. 😐

I return to talk about this matter. I strongly encourage understand of this matter. I myself have faced thousands of spirits, some friendly and others not so much. You must understand that some spirits are connected to this world through specific objects, like Mary is connected through all mirrors (more specifically the glass). Most spirits have unpredictable outcomes. As years pass however, the spirit grows weaker. If you mock it for so much time, it lose it power of vengance. You need to learn that the stronger the spirit, the more recently desceased they are. Mary is a cery powerful spirit and has condemmed herslef to make others suffer for all time to those who mock her. She is one of the leading spirits that can live forever. Some however are not so vengeful. It also depends under who's name they come back from.

To torment the spirits of the old times is very dangerous action to do. Some are blind to the connection between the worlds and cannot experience the "pleasures" of fear as everyone else. However there are those more able to relate to the world of the dead. If you must, then commit actions between the worlds but at your own risk. Even though you want your friends near you at the time, I'd prefer you not. If you truely love your friends then you shouldn't subject them to death. However the more life that exist in an area where you commit ghostly mocking then you will eb safer but you must think of which spirit you wish to challenge.

Even though you may not believe it, God is a great barrier against ghostly apparitions. You must believe he will help you or else he can't protect you. I will write more about this matter later on this story. I hope you have questions, if you do then email me: newyorkhighschoolstudent [at] gmail.com

I'm not sure B Mary is real. I remember a Girl Scout meeting at my old house two years ago had ended when our troop, which was very big at the time, decided to go in one of my house's bathrooms to do B Mary. We went in in groups. One of the times I went in with someone who's older sister is one of my best friends and a ghost believer and we did B Mary. We turned off hte lights closed our eyes, said B Mary's full name 13 times. We opened our eyes. I didn't see, hear, or feel a thing. I don't know if she really felt this but my friend said, "Ow!" "What?" "She kicked me in the butt!" I just laughed and we came out of the bathroom. I don't thing that's credible. However it was just me, her, her older sister, and my best friend in my living room, which was right next to my bathroom. We were walking around randomly while the other girls did B Mary. We heard them scream and they all ran out of there. They all said they had seen a lady with wings and a bloody lip. I don't know why the lady had wings, but that's what they said. If they had been joking they would have told us 4 right away, like a few minutes later. They never said they were kidding at all. Last December our Girl Scout troop held a Christmas party. It was at my current house now and we were eating pancakes at my dining room table. One of my friends who was in that group who claimed they had seen B Mary was sitting next to me. Somehow all of us girls at the table had started tallking about ghost stories and I mentioned some I read off of this site. Then my friend sitting next to me mentioned doing B Mary that one time at my old house. She said they had actually seen something. I don't think she had kept a lie for two years. I think maybe those girls saw at least something.

me and my friends did that in school a couple times.
1 We did it and a teacher caught us we didn't care we really wanted to see her 😲
2 So we tried it again, we got scared, turn on the lights, and then left
3 The third time was the scariest one yet, it was three people me, vianny, and kiera. BLOODY MARY (10 TIMES) span around twice waited nothing happen we turn on the lights omg there was a big scratch on the mirror we ran out and screamed as loud as we can we got lunch detention
4) this was OK it was two people me and Ellen we did what I did in the third encounter. Tap tap tap tap like water was in the stall in the we overcame our fears and said I GOT YOUR BABY AND I KILLED IT I saw her behind me I supposed we shouldn't of said that we turned on the lights she disappeared and I got lunch detention again 😁 😭

I am glad you are safe from her. I heard from a legend that if you call out her name about 13 times, and if she is holding a knife, you must run away or switch on the lights, if she is holding a rose or bear, you are safe, and if she does not come out of the mirror, she will haunt you for the rest of your life! I did not actually try it out but my friend tried it out at 12:00am, and she said that Bloody Mary is smiling at her and she asked to speak to her beloved deacesed grandfather and Bloody Mary agreed. My friend came out safely. So Mary isn't that bad right? 😊

RayvenHawk,
For one, whoever told you that Lizzie Borden is the inspiration for Bloody Mary is the one with the overactive imagination, and you fell for it. For two, divination and spiritual contact through mirrors has been around since mirrors were invented (around 6000B.C.) and long, long, long before Lizzie took her parents lives in 1892.'Bloody Mary' is one of the countless variations of the same routine. More likely it is rooted in Queen Mary I who was dubbed "Bloody Mary" by her subjects due to her persecution of Protestants. Also she had a number of miscarriages (which some speculate were intentionally induced) throughout her life. Therefore some variations of Bloody Mary is to taunt her to appear by telling her you killed her baby, or know that she's the one who killed her baby. Thing's like this can turn into children stories and rhymes very easily through folklore, and hey, who knows what happens to people alone in the dark? There's more, but I'll let you do some research on your own since you apparently haven't yet. 🤔

Hehe, she has the same name as me. Spelt differently though.
Anyway,
It might be a dream, or a nearby ghost. Maybe not Mary. But I have seen Bloody Mary, oh yes I have. I did it at my 11th slumber party, with about 8 girls at 12:01 (and I know the time because one of the girls had a digital watch) a.m. We turned off the lights but the room was only lit by a single candle. Mary appeared in the mirror, holding a bear, thank goodness.

May your life be filled with love and hope.
God bless,

Cassii ❤

Wow a lot of people here with overactive imaginations. First of all Bloody Mary is an urban legend, she is based off of lizzy borden (who was real). The simple explaination is you all caused the occurances. It wasn't a demon, ghost, poltergeist, entity, bloody mary, candy man, etc etc etc.

As for the 13 thing, see my comments first line.

Now as for the comment about the rose or knife or whatever... Please direct your attention to the first line of my comment.

If you want something to happen bad enough, then guess what it's probably going to happen.

wow, freaky. Apparently, as I have been told, if you see a girl covered in blood walkin down a set of stairs with a knife (when you say bloody mary 5 times into a mirror) then you need to run or she'll kill you, and if you say bloody mary into the mirror 5 times and see a girl covered in blood walkin down a set of stairs with a rose in her hands you can watch her because youre safe. I tried it once and saw the rose, and felt really warm and safe. Weird, huh. 😕

well this is a very exciting yet scary experience...
It may just be a spirit playing around with you... Or it could be bloody mary, however no one really knows of her existance except those who really saw her and were murdered because people who come away from a mirror safe could just be seeing things, you never know:)
Great experience, praying does keep spirits away and if this ever happens again
You could also say "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ" or "By the Blood of Jesus leave and do not return"
Never let spirits scare you

i don't believe about Bloody Mary, but I believe in you though. If it happen to you that's great. I never seen her, my bro did though, but he jokes around alot. I tried it once, nothing! Is just people get spooked, becuase they see what they want to see. That nught when I tried it, I didn't wanted to see who mary really was. Iv'e seen things in a mirror that are hard to explained. Mirrors is general are portals to the spirit world and you can;t escape. I believe in ghosts, just not in Mary. Mary is an urban legend, that's all!

Even though people say it's just a myth I always wanted to try it but as I said before: I won't because people say that if she will apear she will scratch your face or kill you and if she doesn't apear she will haunt you for the rest of your life! ❤

Wow...I just read this story (I was recommended by Succubiluv because I wrote a similar one called A Hard Lesson Learned) and I had a very strange experience too. I've heard of all sorts of things happening but I didn't believe it until I did it. Rook made a comment on my story that I think may ring true for this one too: it sounds like a wayward spirit preyed on your energy and decided to scare you a bit with these various happenings. I'm glad you're alright now, and I think these experiences have given me some insight as to how the "game" works. Perhaps it only works for people who are "sensitive?"

Warmest blessings,

DA

Then I woke up in my bed but my nose was still bleeding and I had a scar on my arm I still got the scars for proof and my girlfriend was asleep wierd

The comment under me is true, and you really shouldn't say her name if you're under 13. I'm 14, and I...can say it. But, it's 13, because, well, 'ya know, 13? Get it? I once lived in a house, and I moved there on Friday the 13th, and it was Febuary, and the adress was four THIRTEEN, and, um, yeah. And it had an evil, little girl phantom in it. BEWARE!

Dear Nikki,

I do believe in Bloody Mary, and I'm just glad that you weren't hurt. But, there's a legend about her that if you ever SAY her name in your WHOLE life, on Febuary, Friday the 13th, (the next one is in 8 years) she'll give you a "fright night." But... I still say it, 'cuz that stupid legend isn't real.

I tried that once with my friend while in a bathroom, we only saw the face of a small child with red hair and frekels, she said hi, and dissapeared. We freaked out and ran! I haven't tried it since! Anyway- good story! 😉 ❤

I thought that Bloody Mary was just a story to scare people... I still do believe that. I also believe that you attracted a spirit with all of the energy you gave to the other side. You story was pretty creepy. The scariest thing about all this is that this is happening in front of your eyes and you have no explanation. ❤ Jazz

It's just a myth.
Suprisingly, they say that Bloody Mary can even give you a vision of your future.

Most likely about marriage. If you however see a skull, it would mean that you would die, before you got married.

Here's are some things that will happen when you summon bloody mary.

1. Die - Get your face or eyes ripped off/out
2. See a vision of your future - Marriage or Death
3. Speak with a loved one who's passed away, for only 1 minute (only at midnight)
4. Die from intense fright
5. Feel an unimaginable feeling of warmth and goodness.

So she's not all that bad. =]

i remember one time I stayed over my friends house, and we were bored. My friend isn't afraid of anything mind you and we started talking about ghosts... Well I did. Lol but she said "Oh come on jess don't tell me you believe in that stuff. Theres no such things as ghosts..." I started telling her about bloody mary and how it was the "in" thing in elementary school. She got excited and decided to try it. She said "watch jess I'll prove to you there's no such thing as bloody mary" an I told her that I knew that but I wasn't going to try to bring anything back and she kept calling me a chicken she even actually tried lifting me up an putting me in the bathroom. Haha she did it but she took it as a joke and that was that.
im glad everything turned out fine with you.
good luck

Yea, you must of been scared! Well, I know that you maybe wanted to see if it worked and stuff like that (because sometimes I get like that too), but it can get off track. Once, my friend was possessed for a bit and it wasn't cool. It was annoying.

I've heard many horror stories of the late night Bloody Mary routine, nothing happening at the mirror, but you've stirred something up - you've basically welcomed the idea into your home. And I think that in itself along with fear feeds whatever it is that you've summoned. Be careful.

Dear Nikki,

Yes, let us hope all is peaceful, and it will be left that way. No sense in stirring up trouble where none already exists. 😉--Abby
