Oh also, I almost forgot. My mom saw one too, and she complained to my grandma that she hadn't seen any since she had been a kid and lived with my grandma. I told her that I'd seen one, and she said that it seems that sometimes they appear as a black animal. It caused me to have a flashback to when I was a little kid.

My mom had been taking me to my elementary school, and I looked out the window. There was a black cat with orange eyes running across yards, staring at me. I looked away, then looked back, and the cat had vanished. I thought nothing of it because cats are commonly black.

Once, we went out of town for a week-long vacation. Twice in the same day, I saw a pigeon that was completely black and had orange eyes. It stared at me both times.

Could these have both been the Animal Shadows that youngd spoke of?

I think I've seen something similar, except I didn't smell anything. It was like a shadow ghost. I'd see it out of the corner of my eye, but when I would look right at it, it would disappear!

My kitchen and den are one room, and my grandma and grandpa derrel were sitting in the kitchen. My grandma saw a human-shaped shadow out of the corner of her eye, then the basket of clothes on the couch in the den flew off the couch!

Thank you for your reply. Since posting that question I have been doing searches on Google to try find the answer. I am happy with one of the answers that I have found, which I will post here.

One answer is that the Animal shadow is a Familiar Spirit. It is a lesser demon, that is controlled and sent out on behalf of more powerful demons. These demons have the ability to shape shift, thus they appear as an animal spirit.

I hope maybe this will help anyone else who has seen a dark shadow animal sprit.

The answer to your question is that I am not going to answer your question. It is my belief the best way to learn is to do the work or homework yourself. I wish to kindly suggest that you investigate and find the answer that satisfies you from resources like the internet, as well as your local library and bookstores. After you have exhausted all resources, then by all means do ask others for answers, suggestions and/or solutions if they have them available or can help you. The more you search and research on your own; the more the door to knowledge will open up and present not only answers, suggestions and/or solutions, but other avenues of new ways to see things and new directions in which to follow and begin a new search and investigation.

Just out of curiosity. Does anybody know about Shadow animals. A couple of years back when working, I saw a shadow animal. Ie It was a black shadow of an animal. When I looked at it, it ran up the wall and over the roof of the building. It was just a small shadow animal, like the size of a cat, but it wasn't a cat.

I thought, that's wierd, becuase I could see the shadow, but no animal. I looked around at the light sources, and there was no way a animal could have produced that shadow, because there was no lighting around for it to create the shadow.

Thinking back now, I have come to the conclusion that it was a shadow animal. Has anybody else seen or heard of shadow animals?

Hello Shane and welcome back from your long week-end break of being missing in ghostly action. Missed ya'! 😆

As for wisdom ah,--- well, its just a lot of hard knock, life experience, dabbling in this and that, and a lot of my own nosy, curious, motivated, homework investigations.

I actually had to refresh myself, though I did post a similar post about the little girls and guys, little people on another story all by my lonesome, self. I am also thankful for dusty books on my dusty
bookshelves, and the net for the additional refresher course.

It's there in the noggin', but more than every now and again, the noggin' needs a re-joggin'. 😊

Throughout human history in every culture there has been a belief in "nature spirits" and/or elementals who are like caretakers or nature workers who keep the earth and its natural elements in balanced working order. In each culture these nature workers have different names for the same or similar type of nature worker (elementals, devas, leprechauns, elves, brownies, fauns, fairies, gnomes and so forth). They come in all kinds of different looks, temperaments, personalities, shapes and sizes (very small to 3 or 4 feet) and each have their own work assignments which they take very seriously. They like to keep to themselves and perform their important duties without the interferences of human beings. They generally go about their joyful business undetected by a majority of human beings, except for those who might be sensitive. In some belief systems, like pagan belief, it is Pan (half man and half goat) who is the god of nature spirits. Elementals are based on the four natural elements; earth, water, air and fire, and are considered nature spirits or a class category of nature spirits which consist of gnomes as earth elementals, undines as water elementals, sylphs as air elementals and slamanders as fire elementals.

There are many thoughts about what the dark, very tall, robe hooded figures truly are. You can research it on the net or find other media resources at a bookstore, library and so forth. These entities are mentioned in many cultures' (Norse, Germanic, UK-English, etc.) folklore and religions, as well as in the UFO community of believers. These dark entities are a part of pagan religion, magic or religions where fairies, trolls, and nature spirits (earth, wind, fire and air) are believed to exist and are given gifts by followers, like food to appease them and attain their help to look after the water, land and so forth.

Many times these entities mostly scare people by the way they look, they like to smile or smirk what appears to be a not very nice grin and may resort to some poltergeist activity. Often they just appear with a grin and do little else.

In my opinion, it may be a few of these things I mention. It may be an entity that is not human that comes from another dimension, universe or is an ET. The shadow types may not be stable in their physical energy manifestation and because they cannot or have chosen not to manifest in this 3D physical reality, they remain like a shadow.

It is also my opinion that they appear dressed as they do, so as not to show their true appearance which would be quite frightening to human beings.

I would say that using one's common sense and determining whether these entities mean well or do not mean well is up to the person who encounters them. Each person has their own perception. I believe any being showing up dead or alive, human or not as an uninvited guest should be treated as one and common sense boundaries should be drawn as one would do so with other people one does not personally know or has not personally invited into one's personal space.

Frankly, I would handle the being like one would handle a ghost or spirit and try any and all things to stop unwanted visits.

Think about this, what person do you know shows up only at night or if in the day, in the unseen shadows. What person shows up covered, cloaked and hidden in a hooded robe only in a dark color like brown or black. What person never says a word and only smirks a scary grin. What person causes noises, objects to go on or off and some even moved without your permission or knowledge. What person scares the stuffing out of you for no reason. Unless you can find the reason and how to stop them from making their visits, they will continue. It is up to the person to decide what these entities are and how they wish to handle them, as they would any other being, dead or alive, human or not human.

You may want to research some of the rituals and tools used to clear a ghost or spirit, as well as use your own belief system or religion to help guide you.

For myself, I would do a protective shield for myself and for the area, as well as consider having the area blessed.

The best defense is to be armed with as many guides, rituals, tools and investigated, researched, knowledge as you can find and that are comfortable to you and your belief system. This way you can use some or all of what you learned to help you and others in all varieties of experience that may be encountered.

In regards to land or buildings on land, it is best to have the property investigated, as well as the history. There are many clues to be found in the history of the land, the buildings built upon it and previous owners.

I hope this has helped in some way, as this comment is but my own opinion. Please do the research and investigation needed.

Thanks for all your replies to my story. They have been very helpful. To answer some questions, the black robed figure appears, generally after midnight, although it has been seen before midnight. It has never been seen during the day.

The dark robed figure has no red eyes, it has no face, it's completely black.

A land spirit. I've never heard of those, but it sounds interesting. I'm afraid the retirement home is well into construction. We have no control over this, but it may be upsetting the spirit. I feel sorry for all the elderly people who are going to move into those retirement houses.

Anyway, I was talking to some other security Guars about it tonight, and one said he had the knocking on his car window, last Tuesday and a very cold feeling in the car. He turned on the heater and it was still freezing.

I have sent him the link to this story, so he can come on himself and maybe explain it.

Hi Des Young, I guess you've realized asking for a little help on this site yields much. Take it, or leave it here's my feeling. You are one of the lucky few who are seeing a land spirit. A spirit who presides over this land. It is part of the earth. People give them many differnt names including Drakes. Drakes, for example, are an english term for a 'house spirit' and they are benevolent. They are linked to the element fire. Legend is they smell like fire, but I am betting that ancient trees have been felled on this site and the land spirit is immensely concerned. Drakes and other earth spirits are usually thought of as active in twilight and dawn.
Time most sctive: From nightfall until just past dawn. It sounds like this spirit wants your attention. Likely it is because it wants you to change something. Don't build there. I hope that the landscape will not be more destroyed I think that will upset this spirit. What about Mikes' questions? That could help determine what type of entity you may be seeing. Please thread it here, inquiring minds need to know! 😜

I myself have experienced a dark robed shadow entity. I never saw a face. This one spoke to me. It asked what I was doing here?
I actually felt a different pressure in the room. I prayed the Our Father and it disappeared. It was very frightening.

i am not so sure I believe in the actual 'grim reaper' but I do believe different spirits and entities manifest themselves in different ways with the use of different energy.

i would not provoke it at all, but if it is doing no harm , leave it be and maybe once the renovations are done and the site is secure againl it will be able to move on.

Don't be surprised about seeing the grim reaper looking figure. You'd be surprised how many people see these things. Read through the stories of this site and you'll see that these figures are very common and don't always mean harm. I've heard about these things paralyzing people too though. I am not a ghost expert (nobody can be), but I will warn you not to provoke it or do anything such as yell at, swear at, or make fun of it. I personally think that the grim reaper character was created in response to people in history seeing these figures. So the figure you saw does not take after the evil grim reaper, but rather the grim reaper label was given to these figures. You might want to research that area's history (even back to the B.C. Years). Anyway, can I ask you two questions? Does the figure tend to appear between 3-4 AM? For some reason, people believe that this hour is more 'active' in terms of ghosts. Second question: Can you see it's eyes, and if so, are they red? Many people report seeing black, robed figures with red eyes.

There are too many different explanations for shadow people. Some claim they are just that people. While others claim they are demons, and yet others like myself believe they are just spirits who do not possess the knowledge or energy to fully manifest themselves. Sounds as if this person may have died on that land durning a fire. Would be interesting to know the history. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
