here is an interesting article... Appears to be the same family, sounds like it is a problematic house http://enquirer.com/editions/2003/06/04/loc_mrdd04.html

The thing that makes me question this is it seems like the year the o/p states as the murder is the year your article was written. This was several years after the murder occured but again ill give her a chance

Valkricry you are correct the o/p stated "I have never dug that deep for evidence but I do know that back in 2004 the same mother and son that still lived in that house"...not to say the o/p is presenting a false story but it does begin to bring up the validity of it. I will however in the occasional moment of human trusting give her a chance to explain...

I'm nosey: http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2004/03/12/loc_engelhardt.html

However, I believe the OP typoed the year as 2004, when it took place in 2002.

Thank you all for your input! You all make good points about the dog not being demonic he didn't growl or anything at us I guess he just looked demonic because its eyes were red but I know for a fact that the man in that house DID commit suicide and that he did have Doberman dogs, whether he actually murdered his dogs, I can't say for 100% fact, I have never dug that deep for evidence but I do know that back in 2004 the same mother and son that still lived in that house. The son ended up murdering his own mother with a hammer and dumping her body in the cistern behind their house. You can Google "son murders mother on pippin rd" and read the Story on that. But I know for sure that this family had a haunting and troubling past. I will post another story soon about the things we experienced after we broke into this condemned house after the murders. Thank you all for listening! -Kellyann

Dogs eyes will glow in the dark (well, reflect, but it makes them look like they are glowing). Depending on the light sources in the room, it can be anywhere from yellow, green or red coloring. It definitely does not sound remotely demonic to me. Nothing it did seems demonic at all- just dog like. Wandering around, jumping on things, walking.

I do agree that the story with the dying dogs does sound very urban legend-y. While people do horrible things like that, it just seems a bit convenient- especially the Halloween part.

If anything, it would seem to just be a dog's spirit.

I agree with the previous posters, the ghost dog was just visiting, though I think it is interesting that it would go to a house where it didn't live. -Do you know if any of those three dogs used to go to your grandparents' house?

Did your grandmother ever tell you more about her friend George?

I'm looking forwards to read your next story.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to YGS.

BJJ I agree that the story about the neighbor and his dogs sounding like an urban legend. I have found that when something like that happens one of two things happens 1. Everyone finds out every tiny detail and it then becomes the neighborhood gossip and people tend to remember it all for what seems like eternity or 2. People find out someone committed suicide and the rest becomes a bad case of fill in the blanks that turns into a urban legend, where a man was dabbling in the black arts and sacrificed the dog to a dark being and went crazy before comitting suicide and his spirit still roams the neighborhood at night looking for sacrifices. The lack of available details tends to make me towards the latter of the two.

As far as the dog I agree it was just a curious spirit, although on a stretch it is possible it could have been your animal guide materializing, just a thought.

I also don't think this dog was demonic, just curious. If you want to confirm the story about the other house it shouldn't be too hard. First try some older neighbors who might remember it. Or you could go to the library and look through old newspapers.

I again agree with BJJ. It would have done something worse and it sounds as if it was just curious. Horrible that the people of that house killed the dogs ugh, makes me mad.

It doesn't sound demonic. It made no attempt to hurt you, it just looked at you and left. The red eyes, meh. Even my living dogs sometimes look like their eyes are red depending on the light. Its just an animal trait, and doesn't really seem scary when you put it in the context of eyeshine. To me, it just sounds like a curious ghost.
The story about the neighbor and his dogs, no offense but that sounds very urban legend-y. Have you been able to confirm the story at all? It could be true, but sometimes stories go around that have no real basis in truth. Sorry, I know that sounds harsh, but it never hurts to dig a bit deeper into local legends.
