You see, Tweed, it is the humor in your comments that makes them more genuine, more real, I think. It is your rational spontaneity that makes your suggestions more believable.
And yes, CBT rocks. I think most people could use at least a little... Lol.

Just a quick thing before I go. CBT is soo underrated! You'll never hear a bad thing about it and yet so many people still don't know or have never heard of it, madness! I'm glad you chose to study it.
I learn mostly through others experiences on here too. Glad my babbling to others has been enlightening. Likewise your comments are always so calm and effortless I just *know* the OP will take heed of what you say. Which is more than I can say for most of my own comments which are usually laced with humour, designed to amuse me and me alone, because I feel an OP won't 'get it' but I post anyway in case it sinks in later. You know, the demon tales of woe aka too many details overlooked. See that's what I mean, I can't help myself.
I can lead horses to water, but you can actually make them drink, and full circle with animals again. Must dash!

Tweed, I ended up going to graduate school to study behavior and cognition to teach myself that CBT. So, I understand what you are talking about. It is amazing when we learn how much we control our thinking. Dr. Phil has had some very practical advice for people. He also would not take their s%$$t. We have to see through our own illusions we've built. I also believe we often hear the right thing at the right time. When you post, I often take notice. Even when you are posting for others. I love it when I learn from messages to others.
I agree, I love studying animals, too. How much complex conceptual thinking do they have. Not many animals have death rituals. But some help their sick and mourn loss. It is interesting.

lol yep I have seen that gorilla clip, it's great. It reminds me of how illusionists work their, well, magic. Direction and misdirection. I got into this kind of topic when I was doing cognitive behavioural therapy. (addict and anxiety self medicated for a while there) Anyway while I was in CBT I grew aware of how our attention *really* works. How I could focus on how this paper cut was going to kill me (really I was THAT bad), or I could focus on the fact all my vital signs are accounted for.
Thank goodness we can rewire our thinking. Also, while I was recovering, I watched a lot of Dr Phil. I'm not into daytime TV but he was pretty cool to listen to for me back then. He had a great saying: "There is no reality only perception" talk about hearing the right thing at the right time. I still have those words rattling around, had a profound impact.
That gorilla vid reminds me of how animals view the world, all species wired differently for different reasons. With us here counting basket ball passes because we're 'up for that challenge' probably speaks to our predator/survivor heritage.

It's the same as when you are in your music zone. Tune in/tune out. Focus on a specific thing intently and everything else fades. It allows us to turn up our sensitivity to hear/sense them better. Our intention and focus of attention are magic human qualities. This is why I spent so much time in school studying them. Our brains pick up information in ways our usual senses are not designed to, and we still do not understand it. Have you seen the youtube video on inattentional blindness, where a gorilla dances right through a little basketball match while the viewer has a task of counting the number of passes. And most of us miss the gorilla.

I show this in several classes. What we focus on defines our reality, and we miss much, even in the physical world. What fun discussion topics. Thanks for always being willing to explore and chat.

Aww thanks Hecate.
I never thought about it like tuning into other energies. I think about it more like tuning out what I call the commercial world. Or the restrictions society places on us and we place on ourselves. Then you start to pick up more, or other energies/frequencies become more receptive to you. Something like that, but yeah, I guess I must turn something 'on' or 'up' as much as I turn others 'off' or 'down'. Never thought of that.
I always got the feeling that anyone or entity has the power to choose their intent. Energy is just energy after all, it's all in how it's used. That Ezekiel describes this as a mere thought is very cool.
Urgh that stupid couple routine was awful, I'm so happy it's over. For the first day we had to stop ourselves from laughing because it was so ridiculous. Then after that we kept slipping up. Who knows if it made a difference but it certainly appeared to and we had a strong feeling it would. Here's to gut feelings.

Tweed, your openness surely helps you tremendously. You tune into your other energies very well. I am an empath, so feel them more with my emotions, as well as clairvoyant. I just get thoughts that I know are connected to other. You are better at discerning their subtle differences. My Ezekiel, when I asked him, through my son who is a medium, why he stays around humans and why he is "good" and not "unhelpful" (another way of thinking about bad), he told us, "the difference is a mere thought." I gathered from that, that on the other side, it is much like living humans, they can easily go either way. So, your assessment, that similar types can have different 'valences', if you will, is is quit apt. I just love how you guys did the "angsty couple" schtick. You probably deserve and Oscar. 😁 Great chatting with you again.

Hecate! Hello good to see you around again!
Yes! Definitely ask your guardians for help, and get your son to do the same if he isn't already. I hope everything is ok with you guys.
Mostly labelled myself a pessimist over the years because I have a tendency to be quite neurotic and a bit of a control freak. Urgh, hate that, I'm much more relaxed in recent years. Also in recent years, when I look back I realise I was really always a positive person to begin with. So I was full of crap giving myself that stupid label. I guess that's why I never really asked guardians for help for many, many years.
For pretty much all of this haunt I felt I was dealing with a human. It was only toward the very end when I saw the thing that I realised it was something else. (There's a bit about that in some of the older comments.)
After I saw the thing something clicked. Because ever since I was a kid I have had this entity visit me from time to time. Not the same individual, but one of the same entity type. I can't claim to be 100% sure of this, but more like 99% sure. Based on their appearance. The one which visits me sometimes looks very different to the deranged one I saw. But both have similar physical traits which I can't ignore. They also have trouble speaking and do so in a raspy quiet whisper voice. However the horrible one, who I heard with this haunt, sounds utterly different to the one I've known for years. So different I didn't put it together until I saw it.
Also the 'nice' one I always felt was from an entity type which could go either way. Not that the individual that I know is untrustworthy, but his ilk are, like humans are, subject to variation. I guess this one is somewhat of a guardian, however he hardly ever shows up. I'll have him around me for a couple weeks or so a few times a year.
My guardian detested him for most of my life. But in the last decade he warmed to dislike, then came neutral and now he likes him and they get on really well. Which makes me think this entity type has a reputation for being nasty or otherwise skillful with potential of using those skills for bad. So maybe, if they are of the same ilk, the nice one is what attracted the nasty one to me. I'll have to talk to T about this to see if he has any of these entities in his life. This could be the common link.

Tweed, what a time you have had! I just returned after time away from YGS. I saw your comments, realizing you had a new story. And what a story! I am so glad you have the guardian that you do. Your method was fabulous. You are so right, that sometimes you must trick a psychopathic ghost. I read all of the old Hans Holtzer Ghost books. In the 1960's and 1970's, he was one of the first paranormal investigators. His view was that many ghosts were formerly living people with psychological disorders such as what you describe with yours. I think we are lucky when they are the positive ones. But all those people who are very damaged, if they do not find balance and peace before death, carry that into their afterlife, I think what keeps them earthbound.
Anyway, I am so happy for your outcome. It is a testament to you and your husband and the positively powerful bond your have. Also, I really needed to be reminded to trust my own guides. My son has not been well, and some of it is psychic. I need to ask for help. Thank you for sharing, on all counts. I am glad you stay positive!

Thanks Rook! Your cleansing method has become a household must for us, seriously we can't thank you enough for it! We've just started doing it every two weeks, and so far so good. Before we were doing it once a week. It's definitely become a standardized method for our house. I never truly realised how powerful Dragon Blood was before, it's incredible!

UPDATE:
It's been a month since I tried a last ditch resort method to get rid of this awful, awful entity. So far it's been nothing but peace and quiet. I no longer get overwhelming fatigue, no more banging/knocking/tapping, no more floating head nonsense, no more shaking bed, no more feeling worthless, no more bloody meat stuck on things, no more stupid voice, no more sense of dread, no more manifestations of the disgusting entity. I feel like me again and I'm not jumping at my own shadow any more!
Ok, so I really have wrestled with whether I should post how we got rid of it or not. Because what we did, (I did NOT do this alone), we did with a truckload of preparation, conversation, observation, copious taking of notes and I mean PAGES of large size sheets. Hello paper and pen, yes I use stationary, but that's not important. Point is this was NOT done lightly and didn't come without risk of stuffing it up. This was a do it once and get it the heck right kind of a deal. Or be back at square one. Timing was everything.
Right so my guardian has a way of keeping the peace. He's always been able to get rid of anything and quick. Not that I have ever had much in the way of nasty ghost activity, I really haven't. But the occasional thing here and there that, without his influence, might have escalated into something much worse, but who really knows. Point is I've learned to trust his perspective over the years.
When I was a teenager I did stupid things like use a ouija board without any skills, attempted astral projection without shielding myself first. A few poltergeists were to follow. So then I learned how to protect myself, typical teenager doing it the wrong way around. One day, while reading up, I was flicking through one of Mum's books which had a chapter about animal protectors/guides or something like that. I read about dog entities and decided to see if I could call on some to help me out. I did this through meditation, and was shocked at the result, they really did clear the air so to speak. I forgot all about this until Mum reminded me and suggested I do the same for this awful entity. They helped keep it away, but could not get rid of it. Between dogs and my guardian things were kept at arms length, but arms length was bad enough.
I had about 4-5 days of peace and quiet after renewing the deep cleanse before things picked up again. Also I was jumpy all the time and this told me things weren't improving, only stifled for a few days at a time.
My gut instincts were telling me the slowness of the progression of this haunt was connected to its success in getting past protective barriers.
Meanwhile my guardian couldn't locate the entity, which was a worrisome detail. I've equated him with being so good at everything for so long now it was like 'dude no way'. Only less Beavis and Butthead. This entity was able to hide itself from him, possibly the dogs too, he would know when it was near or here but not where exactly it was. He came up with a way to locate it which would play off its strengths and my weaknesses. He suggested, and at this point we were communicating ONLY within the first 2 days of deep cleanse, for fear of the entity being able to listen to us otherwise, he wanted to trick it into thinking it was winning. He felt that it would manifest itself before long, not the same as some external random head object, but as its own individual self. He was right about that, I felt he was wrong and that it would never happened so I was shocked when it did.
Meanwhile my husband and I were also very particular about the days on which we spoke openly about what we were doing. Hubby was encouraging me to follow guardian's plan which was to mimic the results of succumbing to whatever this entity had in store. Not an easy feat. This entity was highly intelligent, but it was still psychopathic, and psychopaths can only go so far before their ego trips them up. This is what we needed so that guardian could do whatever it is he does.
Whatever it is he does has a smell. Over the years, for example if he's mad at me about something or some entity he doesn't like comes by there's this smell. It's not a pleasant smell but it's one I've come to like, because I associate it with safety. It's like a cross between burning rubber and that sickly sweet and a bit sour flavour/taste that milk gets just before it goes off. That's the only way I can describe it. I hardly ever smell this, it's only once in maybe 2 years, if that. I've gone a lot longer than that without smelling it. My husband knows this smell.
We went through the motions of cleansing BUT we did it with low intent, so that it was weak. We needed this thing to let its guard down, to believe it was winning. That we were weakening. Also I had this thing of projecting everything was for nothing. It's weird I was mimicking a weakened resolve but I had to 'feel' it on some level, in case this entity knew what I was feeling. It was separate from truly feeling it though, like a conscious choice. Not exactly healthy mind you and I wouldn't have kept this up for too long. My husband was mimicking a man giving up all hope and for 4 days we pretended to be cold and distant to one another. We have an incredibly strong bond so this did nothing but irritate us for those few days. The irritation kept it convincing probably.
Guardian laid low, we didn't feel him around as much, I think he was pretending to be exhausted or something, not sure, maybe he was recharging his energy or whatever it is he does.
On the 4th evening of acting in this crazy way I went to bed before my husband, and he played the part of a brooding, frustrated man pretending to watch TV to avoid 'the wife'. We did that for a few days in a row. Yeup, it was a full time meticulously planned 24 hour deal and totally unconventional. But, but BUT it worked!
Because on this night the same bed shaking happened, fatigue then I was out, asleep so I didn't hear what happened next.
Hubby was downstairs and felt movement above, like someone was walking briskly. Quickly after banging, really loud apparently. This was the FIRST time he'd ever heard the banging. It was coming from directly above him, which was the spare room, which we use as a storage room. We hardly go in there. The banging lasted about 5 minutes and was incredibly loud and fast for about 1 minute. Then fluctuated. He said it sounded like a fight, but it was just banging, no object throwing sounds or footsteps, only loud bangs. He said it sounded like banging on all surfaces in that room, including the floor, which was the ceiling above where he was. After it stopped he felt a pressure like sensation in the air, like the air had become thick and heavy. Then the pressure, his words, 'clapped out', but there was no sound. He said it was like the sensation of when your ears have water gushing out. Then he could smell that old familiar smell, the weird burning one. He said the mood in the house became calm, or calmer than before. He wasn't worried when he heard the banging, he had a good feeling about it. He came upstairs to go to bed and the smell was even stronger. He said it's the strongest he's ever smelt it.
The next thing I remember is him waking me up asking how I was, telling me about the banging and did I hear it. I didn't hear a thing. But you know what, as soon as I woke up I felt normal again, I didn't even think of pretending to be Mr and Mrs Idiot, it was as if I knew instinctively what had happened. The smell hit me like a tone of bricks. Over the years every time this smell occurs I always check outside and everywhere, just to make sure it's not actually smoke. Because it has a smoke like quality to it. I wanted to get up and check around, usually I do. Hubby warned me that the smell was even stronger on the landing outside our room and was definitely coming from the spare room, the door was closed to that room, as it usually is. So it must have absolutely reeked in there. For the first time ever I didn't check and I'm usually anxious when I don't follow through on something like that. Not this time, totally peaceful and loving the calm atmosphere.
Sigh, anyway, what was supposed to be an update has turned into a submission length event. To be honest I just want to submit nice ghost encounters now. I'll be happy to help anyone who has any crap like this and maybe my experience and how we dealt with it will help someone out there. But please understand what we did worked for us because of who we are as a couple and individually. I really believe strongly in individuality and that every single experience, paranormal or otherwise is utterly unique. Also my guardian is an incredibly patient, observant and disciplined person. This is mostly down to him.
One more titbit, T! Oh Em Gee, Hubby and I are still a bit shocked about this but T is totally sensitive and cluey about paranormal everything! But he's so gosh darn private and good at concealing his true ways, that we NEVER picked up on it. Just goes to show you never truly know who believes in what!
When he was going through this he contacted a few relatives on the other side as well as some other ghosts he'd come to trust. Together they managed to get rid of this. It took a lot of effort for him too over many months. He felt the feeling change once it was gone too. Like a huge weight had been lifted. Now, I'm glad to say, we know exactly what he means. He never went through with any trickery, as we did, but he pointed out that his defenses were probably down which may have helped the entity stumble into false confidence which lead to his guardians successfully banishing it from his life. We're all going to keep an eye out for anything else, but so far so good. I feel really confident this is over.
Never underestimate the power of guardians, they rock!

Hi Sam,
Pink Floyd are great, I love them too.
Thanks for the link. Yeup those are the devices I was thinking of. From what I understand they have an automatic trim which boosts when the input signal is low and it's this which picks up any paranormal sounds, within the static white noise.
My question was more rhetorical regarding whether or not it would help. I'm more interested in these devices for other ghosts. Not this one. I wouldn't risk undoing my efforts by communicating with it. Which is what I would be doing if I whipped out one of those devices in its honour.
I already have many recordings I could enhance. However these recordings are made with professional microphones and not made for paranormal reasons. I have thought of going through some of the dead air on some recordings to see if anything is 'there'.
There is one which does have an already audible 'something' on it. I'll have a fiddle with it and see if it's something. I'll have to find it first. If I find something noteworthy I'll upload it and post a link. But I'm definitely not going to record/communicate with this horrible thing intentionally. Especially since I'm sure I glimpsed it.
Actually I've been meaning to enhance some recordings for a good while, out of curiosity. But alas I am lazy and would rather be listening to music than enhancing a bunch of silence.

Tweed, your welcome, and yeah that's fine it really doesn't make a differences if you post it all in one. (Except that it's long. Lol).
Yeah featuring does remind me of rap music too, but I think it's quite a fine word for what you were using it for. Hahaha. Wasn't sure you would know who she was cause I wasn't sure how different music is in UK or if they listen to lots of music from over here. (I like some music from over there (pink Floyd fan)).
Your question about the recording device, well um if you just a recording device (which is good for many things) (kind of rectangular shape) I don't see what harm could be done, and will anything show up? Know one will know that until you listen to the recording. You can also learn things from what is said on the recording (if anything is), and these things you learn may help, or they may be usless (probably not). And I wouldn't think it would give it a reason to scare you, but that's my opinion.
I was thinking you were talking about one of these which are cheap:

Unless you want a more expensive one specifically made for the paranormal.

Sam and Biblio thanks to you both for everything. I'm not the kind of person to reply to everyone using separate posts, tried that once, annoyed the heck out of me. So this'll be one big reply addressing both of your responses. With an 'Update' at the bottom.
Sam,
I'll try to answer your questions.
In the first dream the knowledge of T being close by, outside of the room somewhere, was a past tense awareness. Meaning that in the dream I had knowledge of his presence before entering the room. It felt like he was watching this room via something akin to video link, without physically being in the room.
Funnily enough I struggled to find another word for 'featuring'. Featuring reminded me of rap music collaborations or cameo appearances in shows. But it's a word everyone knows and understands so it went in.
Lol Yes I know who Lady Gaga is and that is quite amusing.
I've looked into those electronic dicta-phone recording devices, the ones used by ghost hunters. I saw these used on a documentary a few years ago and was intrigued. I want to use one of these for other nice ghosts, but for this particular ghost/entity/whatever it is I fear it would encourage it. That said there are times, when I feel scared, that I wonder if I hit record on one of these devices, during these moments, if anything would show up on the audio. But would that help me in any way or just give it a new way to scare me? I really don't want to take that risk.
I love what you say about our gut being one of our senses. One of the lesser celebrated senses I feel.
The thuds on the house are something I keep thinking about lately. It slipped my mind completely because I was in the midst of grief about the cat who passed a couple days after the thud night. I really don't know what to make of it. It's so bizarre that I can't believe it was paranormal. Okay I'm 50/50 about it. But if it was paranormal and connected to this 'thing', well that's nothing short of shocking. When I look at it in a supernatural light the thuds on the house become a direct retaliation to it being kept out of Mum's house by my guardian during that time. That's my impression of it, if it was paranormal and connected to this. Urgh some of the details suggest it was paranormal. Here's hoping it never happens again.
Biblio,
Firstly, I burst out laughing at Moses imploring everyone not to be a prat! It sounds like we have similar views on religion.
Don't worry about late replies, I'm the queen of late replies. I only check my email about once a week.
Sorry if this is inflaming your OCD. I suffer from it myself from time to time. Used to have it quite severe. So I sympathise, it ain't fun.
I know exactly what you mean about a piece missing. It drives me nuts sometimes. It's like something is right there staring me in the face but I don't get it yet.
Also don't worry about panicking me. I'm not superstitious and don't scare too easily.
T recently told me he started to see what looked like bloody meat on the side corners of walls and on furniture around his house. He said it was hard to touch like it was baked on. But it would always disappear by the time someone came home. This reminded me that I'd seen exactly the same thing at Mum's place. Before the cat died, there was something like blood/meat under the linen-press door, which is where the cat bed was. I saw the cat sniff or lick it. I assumed it was pet food that had somehow ended up there. I got the paper towel and wiped at it but it was hard and wouldn't come off. So I moved the cat and his bedding away, assuming it was rancid cat food that I didn't want him consuming. When Mum got back I asked her what it was, she had no idea, I showed her but it was gone. I thought the cat must have had a cheeky snack and ate it. But now with what T said about bloody meat around his house, I think that's what I experienced too. Urgh the fact it was down at the cat bed, in a place where he'd definitely lick at it, urgh makes me wince.
Next time I talk to T I'm going more in depth into our histories to see if we can find a common denominator. I agree there must be one. Also I will really drill him about how the heck he got rid of it. So far we've only been comparing notes on crap that's happened to the both of us.
I agree also that this is going to take a lot of effort and support. I have a support network around me. A few of our friends are Christians, they've suggested keeping a bible open in the bedroom, which we've done. We're not religious but what the heck, it certainly can't hurt. A few of our friends are Wiccans. One Wiccan couple are coming over this weekend. We're going to try a... Erugh now I can't remember what it's called. How irritating. Well it's a spell or ceremony of some kind.
Bit of an update on this since my last post:
My mood is pretty good and I don't feel scared or threatened as much as I have been. I feel like a weight has lifted. That said I won't bury my head in the sand either. But it's nice to feel closer to normal again. The bouts of fatigue are lingering still. I'm having a bad day today with fatigue. But I'm also having a lot of good days, without fatigue. On to the...
Update:
The other night I woke up to the raspy, loud whisper voice it said:
"____, look at me"
With the underscore being a big swear word. Personally I'm not offended by this word and hubby and I are potty mouths. So it wasn't a shock to hear it. I wasn't happy with *it* using the word however. What's most interesting about this is that I wasn't the least bit afraid! Also my husband was asleep beside me, which is a first for this thing. Though I'm sure it was aware he was asleep. When it woke me up I instinctively looked to where the voice came from, in front of me, to the side of the bed. I realised what was going on, and what I'd just heard, rolled over to face hubby and went back to sleep. I vaguely remember giving it the finger as I did this. Though I may have just thought about it, not sure if I flipped it the bird or not.
The other update is something I saw. This was about a week before it woke me up. I'm not sure what I saw but I think it was this thing, based on what I felt in my gut.
You know when you know someone's looking at you? Well I had that and looked to see this very peculiar human-esque being with cracked and deeply wrinkled skin, the colour of an old carrot. It had very, very thick black eyebrows and very small eyes. Its hair was shortish and black also. There was something very creepy about the eyebrows. They looked like gigantic hairy caterpillars. The eyes were so small they looked like pin pricks. It was very grotesque, but not in an endearing way, the way some nature spirits look. It was looking straight at me. I guess it looked calm in mood. But jeesh did it look psychotic. I love me some grotesque looking entities but THIS was something else all together. I can't shake the feeling I saw 'it'. But I still live in hope that what I saw was some kind of nature spirit which I occasionally see. But they're always outside.
The visual wasn't a solid manifestation, more like the strength of a reflection in a window. But there was no window. With about 4 meters distance between us. I saw it for maybe 2 seconds, if that.

Tweed:
Sorry for the delay in response, it's the mad rush toward end-of-term exams (Americans call them "Finals" which sounds far more daunting to my mind) and I'm in almost complete chaos. When I mentioned "a patient entity," it was merely a descriptive term. Skipping over residual hauntings, it seems many spiritual interactions (with all manner of intelligent entities and hauntings) fall into a few clear categories: protective, peacefully coexisting, parasitic, resentful, etc. Patience is a trait common to the first two of these, as there is a nurturing bond or willingness to cooperate in the intent of the entity. The other hauntings typically are characterized by the immediacy of the entity's need to provoke a reaction from the individual/individuals experiencing the haunting. Resentful spirits either feel ignored, leading to their becoming frustrated & angry, or dislike the idea of others taking over "their" property; the parasitic entities provoke fear (oft-alleged to be a source of energy, though I have some doubts on this score); elementals and fae who choose to be seen or to interact with human beings do so as a warning, as the opening gambit in a psychological/supernatural deceit (game, trap, trick, whatever), or out of sheer whimsy (your profile indicates some fae experience, so I'm sure you know what I mean about the impulsivity: like cats, their verbs are always in the present tense). For a haunting 1) to stalk T then you, with a decade's separation, on three different continents, 2) to be determined to limit the number of witnesses who can corroborate events, 3) to demonstrate all the hallmarks of a certain and determined patience, without the need for immediate escalation, it sounds to me as though you're dealing with something very old, very powerful, and almost certainly inhuman.
As an agnostic, I don't believe in the idea of fallen angels; that's all based on a mistranslation in the writings of the prophet Isaiah, muddling up the supernova of a morning star (a 'Shining Herald' to announce the dawn, bright enough to be seen just before sunrise) with the name of one of the angels, Lucifer (meaning 'Light Bringer' as in the angel who reminds God of the details of mankind's sins -shedding light upon them- like a prosecuting barrister). That said, there is plenty of room for the existence of paranormal entities who have chosen to be beneficent/good and for those who have chosen to be selfish/evil. Just because the English translation of the Latin adaptation of the Greek mistranslation of the Aramaic version of an archaic Hebrew prophet is flawed, it doesn't mean that the general idea is entirely wrong. The English version of the Bible doesn't even get the 10 commandments right ("Thou shalt not steal" is a very literal translation, but the verb in Hebrew is only used to describe kidnapping, i.e.: "to steal a child.") However, Moses is one of my heroes from history because he came down the mountain with 10 pretty damn good rules which treated everyone equally! It was the inception of Egalitarianism; ten rules, that's it, no exceptions, and most of them boil down to "don't be a complete prat."...and I'm rambling. Back to the topic...
I know you're aware of the utility of cleansing rituals, but my concern is akin to soaps which kill "99% of bacteria," leaving one to wonder exactly how close to invulnerable is the remaining 1%, and will it now thrive because the other 99% are no longer in the way. I fear you're going to need a lot of support to shift this entity, let alone exorcise it; it may even retaliate if you try to evict it by yourself. Now, please don't go into a panic over my prognostications; as I've said before, I tend to look at a given situation and seriously ask "what IS the worst that could happen, and how am I going to deal with that?" In this case, I think you need to get more data out of T about how his interactions with it ended. You may not like what he tells you, but the information that was lacking initially has yet to be uncovered. Something vital is still missing. There's part of the puzzle which either is rooted in a personal past trauma (shared/similar trauma in T's past?) or there's something unique in both you and T which attracted the attention of this thing... Which makes me wonder where it was in the decade between these two incidents. Something here is bothering me, like an itch behind the eyes. Something which has kicked my OCD into overdrive because I'm not seeing it and I suspect that it's going to be connected to how you're going to get rid of this sinister presence.

Tweed, yup that's about how long it took me. Lol.
Yes I know who Mackenzie Crook is, I don't care much for him as an actor, but I have seen the office (but I hate that show) and I have seen the Pirates of the Caribbean. It's interesting how you have dreams with him in it, (very random but some dreams just are that; random).

Dream #1:
Interesting, I can picture that, the table in the middle of a dim lit room is like what's on cartoons sometimes or some movies.
And you said " T wasn't there but waiting some where in another room", so was it one of those things in dream you just know like it was knowledge that was just already there?
Wasn't much of an ending, but kind of weird.
Dream #2
Yeah I guess that was very quick, I could just about perfectly see that in my head.
And I probably would've woken up too!
Do you have any idea what the meaning of this might be? Cause I'm not sure.
Side comment- I thought it was very funny how you said "featuring" in a dream. It made me laugh because I have had quite a few "features" in my dreams, quite odd ones too, for instance; one of them was lady gaga, not sure if you know who that is, but if you did you'd probably find that funny.
Tweed is there anyway possible you could get a recording of these noises and things by audio or even video?
I'd be interested to hear it.
I also like badjuujuu's opinion very much. And also, miracles is right about the gut thing; never ignore it. I'd consider it one of our sense, because we defiantly have more than just five senses, I don't care what all these "smart" "professional" scientists and doctors, and etc say.
The second paragraph in bibliothecarius's comment, I'd say is important, I agree with it, and I think these questions need to be answered, but unfortunately you won't always have the answers and that is okay.
I read the update, and holy cow! What could have made a thud (that loud!) on the Roof?!?!? I mean unless you've got birds flying around outside the size of donkeys where you live (lol). Then I have no clue. And obviously nothing came from the sky, because if it had then It would have been going so fast it would have gone through your roof.
And yeah, your right about what you said in that other comment; stay away from *those* boards. Because 99% of the time they don't invite guardians, they invite *those* other things.
Thanks for getting back to me tweed! 😁
Yes I know who Mackenzie Crook is, I don't care much for him as an actor, but I have seen the office (but I hate that show) and I have seen the Pirates of the Caribbean. It's interesting how you have dreams with him in it, (very random but some dreams just are that; random).

Oh yeah. Reoccurring dreams are nothing to shrug off. Some GP's in Europe ask their patients about their dreams. The mind is very powerful indeed.

Hi Miick, thanks for reading.
I'm with you on looking up bed shaking! When it first happened to me I went searching online. Couldn't believe how many people out there experience it. Really quite astonishing.
Your reoccurring dream sounds very scary and atmospheric, especially for a kid.
I believe the best person to interpret dreams is the person who dreams them.
I'm open to the possibility of *some* universal symbolism existing in dreams. But to read:
"A black cat in a dream denotes you will find your soul mate on a rainy day" Yuck, what nonsense!
Your reindeer and hunter scenario could mean anything, only you would know. But if the overall fear in the dream remained the same it sounds like you were distressed by something back then. Or maybe your bed shaker was 'giving' you the dream and it was their fear you felt in the dream.
Or your bed shaker was trying to prevent you from having the dream by shaking the bed. God who knows.

hello tweed, firstly thank you for the comment regarding my bed shaking story. Thought I would return the courtesy and have a read of your story. Most interesting, I'm glad to say, I have not experienced the degree of activity you have, nor do I hope too. I hope you can find a way to get some peace from your haunting or whatever it is? I was just going to let you know abit more about the recurring dream I use to have as a kid.
As I mentioned it was about 10 seconds or so, it involved me seeing a small herd of reindeer, calmly grazing in bushland/forest surrounds. Then I would hear I stick snap and suddenly the deer would look up, as if looking for a predator type thing. I would see a hunter holding a gun, taking aim. A gun shot would ring out, then I would see one of the deer fall... The end. Doesn't sound real scary, but I would wake up shaken from the feeling I use to get. More pronouced as a kid no doubt.
I have no idea what it meant!

Hi Sam, 15 minutes approx, I timed how long it took to read before I submitted it lol. So thanks for taking the time!
These are the omitted dream segments copy pasted from the story document:
Mackenzie Crook is an actor and comedian.
For over a decade he's been a reoccurring theme in my dreams. He only crops up in dreams once in a blue moon. I've only ever seen him in The Office and a few other British shows over the years and I never dream about celebrities. So it's beyond me why my subconscious latched onto his identity. Mackenzie dreams are always warning beacons that something isn't right.
(I just ran his name through a search engine to get the correct spelling and turns out he's been in Pirates of the Caribbean and Game of Thrones. I've never watched either, not to my taste. I guess people outside the UK would know him from these. But who this guy is on or off screen is seriously NOT important here. For he is only symbolic of a warning in a dream.)
Dream 1 around August 2014:
Location a windowless medium size blue-stone room. In the middle a table or desk with a light hanging directly above which lit the table well but left the rest of the room dim. Mackenzie was sitting at this table.
I enter the room from a door which Mackenzie is facing. I walk up to and sit opposite him at the table. T wasn't there but was watching somehow from another room. This made sense in the dream.
Nothing was said. Mackenzie looked directly at me with a taunting smarmy look on his face and appeared to be enjoying some kind of power trip. I was calm, and after a minute or so, felt any attempt to understand this was futile. I stood up and walked out of the room through the same door where I joined T.
End dream.
I didn't see T in this dream, only knew he was there.
The location of this dream is why I thought of the dripping torture method in the kitchen that night.
Mackenzie never speaks in my dreams and he's always in the background or in a group of people. This was the first time he'd featured in any dream.
Dream 2 a few days after first one:
Location a stream or creak at night. I was laying in the water, felt something watching me, turned to the right. A head of a man I didn't recognise was bobbing in the water next to me, close to my face at eye level. The eyes were glazed over staring into mine, his mouth was agape. Woke up with a start.
This was a very quick dream.

Tweed, I'm interested in reading about the dreams you mentioned. If you still have them typed somewhere just copy and paste them into a comment, or you can email me, that's always a choice.
Thanks for sharing your story! 😁
P.S. That was quite a long story, but no worry the longer the more details, and the more details the better. I read it yesterday but I was really tired after so that's why I'm commenting now. 😊

Oh and guardians can come in the form of animal spirit guides, angels, all sorts depending on religion too.
With regards to finding yours or communicating. Use a method which you're comfortable with; meditation, praying, astral projection or just plain speaking out aloud.
Just stay away from those boards, yah, *those* ones. 😉

MaybeADreamer I was raised to believe we all have a guardian and some people have more than one. They come in the form of relatives, or people we don't identify with or know. Naturally a ghost can become someones guardian simply by looking out for them and caring/loving that person.
That's how I was raised to think and it still makes sense to me today.
In my case my guardian showed himself to me when I was very young. My story Bumping Into An Old Friend is about him. It wasn't until my early 20's I started to realise he was my guardian.
It may be the same with you. You probably have encountered your guardian or one of them and haven't realised. I'm of the opinion that your Grandma has become one of your guardians btw!
Anyway that's my understanding of it. My Grandma is one of my guardians too but she's uncomfortable with my other guardian AND she has a hard time getting her head around me talking to ghosts. Something she never knew in life. Awkward and amusing in equal measures!

This happened a few days before our cat died. I don't know if it's relevant or what it is. I just remembered it this morning for some reason.
This was at Mum's place. I was half watching something on TV, it was late, mum was in bed. The cat was on my knee and I was dozing. This MASSIVE and I mean massive thud happened on the roof of the house, I think. It made the WHOLE house shake, everything in the house was rattling. It didn't feel like an Earth tremor but I told myself that's what it was. The cat had his head up and was looking around. I sat there not knowing what to do. Then maybe 5 minutes later it happened again. The cat was now looking at me like 'what the heck?'. It was about 11 or so at night. After the second one I went to Mum's room, she was sound asleep, I woke her and asked her if she felt a thud or an Earth tremor. She said no. Mum and I looked around outside and found nothing. I checked the meteorology reports for a few days after this, nothing came up for Earth tremors. Mum's neighbours didn't feel anything either. I don't know what to make of that. I don't even know if it's connected.
BJJ,
You've summed up pretty much what my thoughts and feelings are towards this. I can't think of anything else I could do either, except try to understand 'why me' but I just keep going around in circles with that and may never know. I've considered that it's using me to get to T.
I also keep thinking that it eventually left T alone so will do the same to me.
Val,
I'm glad you've learned to trust your gut, I can relate to self doubt. It can kick just as hard as an outcome from going against our gut feelings.
Your story about your friend Hank was one of the first stories I read on here. It actually really got me to sit up and take real notice, of what I'm not sure, but it made me take notice. I was seriously speechless and telling myself that joining a paranormal website was a bad idea! Well I think about Hank's story sometimes and imagine him belting whoever that was up on the other side, it's strangely comforting.
Biblio,
I agree this feels calculated and extremely patient. When you say 'patient entity' is this an actual entity type or do you mean it as a description?
There is more to T's experience but he clams up when we ask him more. What he has said is that it got worse before it left him alone. He said he avoided being alone as much as possible and thinks that helped. But as I pointed out to him it might have been around him all this time. He's never been the sort of person to go in for cleansing rituals and the like. But he's starting to learn because of what's happening to me.
At first I thought the bed shaking was silly and lame. I wrote this story over a few months and didn't update the part about bed shaking.
After a few bed shaking incidents (spread over about 2 weeks) I got this horrendous impression the shaking was of a sexual nature based on the characteristics. My impression about this is that it's an assertion of power and intended to make me feel hopeless/worthless. There have been very brief moments where I have felt this way. Indeed to think about it is very difficult. I think it's doing it via some kind of, what's that stuff called, psychokinetic energy I think that's what I mean. I don't feel the mattress move or anything that would suggest something is making contact with the bed by touch.
T never experienced anything like this, but so far hasn't said what else he did go through. I'm going to press him for more details regarding how it left him, there must have been *something* he did. Maybe something he doesn't realise is important. You're right, it ain't going to just leave if it can follow and wait patiently for years.

Hi, Tweed.
The fact which bothers me most is not *what* this entity is doing, but **when.** There is an uncomfortable thought in the back of my mind that you're dealing with a rare phenomenon: a patient entity. Look at the time scales: 10 seconds between taps is maddeningly slow (a 5-second gap in a conversation can feel uncomfortable); months of events before escalating to the next step in the haunting ritual; calculated delays to ensure your solitude, except to let you know when it can hear your conversations about it; and about a decade since T's experiences with almost-identical events & timelines; slowly whispered threats (ok, I cheered your interruption!). When condensed into a few lines, these deliberate, ritualized events begin to look more like the behavior pattern of an obsessive/psychopathic mind.
How did T exorcize this entity from his life? He confessed to running away from a floating severed head baning itself against his bedroom wall (this, I believe, would be the reaction by a distinct majority of witnesses). Did he tell you what steps he took to get IT to leave? Running away in fear isn't the answer if this thing, which haunted him in the U.S.) can follow you from the U.K. To Australia. I suspect that there is a detail you've left out, or one he didn't tell you in the first place. If the latter is the case, you're missing a vital piece of information with the potential to make your life easier.
Take Care,
-Biblio.

Tweed,
I wanted to let you know I did read your account. I don't think I have any real advise for you. Could be because work has kicked my tuckus once again. I am with Miracles on not ignoring your gut feelings though. It's taken me decades (seriously - DECADES) to learn to listen to mine. That gut instinct is generally 99% right. So if yours is screaming don't look, then don't.

Mmkay, so I've been trying to get my opinion of this into words. Here goes nothing.
I think T somehow blocked this entity's access to him, and that the entity is trying to reestablish the connection to T by going through you. Why it chose you to use, can't even begin to guess. Maybe it feels your energy is similar to T's, who knows.
Your fear and discomfort of this thing says it all concerning the entity's intent. I suspect it would physically try to do something if it could, but only has the strength to make noise. It could be able to manifest to you as it did to T, but you refuse to look at it. I think that's probably wise tbh, getting a visual might increase fear, making it more difficult to stand your ground.
So far you seem to be doing a good job of standing up to the wretched thing, keep it up. I can't think of anything to suggest that you're not already doing, just keep doing it, keep being stubborn, keep on refusing to give in. It eventually quit bothering T, it will eventually give up trying to harass you too.

Absolutely Miracles other peoples perspectives is exactly why I got off my behind and finally submitted it lol.
I certainly won't try to contact this ghost or extend a hand to shake anytime soon. But the idea that it could be someone T has known and that what I'm feeling is emphatic is a new angle to consider.
Honestly I'm usually on the ball when it comes to others' experiences but it's a totally different kettle of fish when it's my own, turns me into a jumbled up muddle I tells ya!

Tweed - never ignore your gut. Sometimes that's the best thing we have. If you think it's bad, or not exactly nice, don't ignore that. You're the one living it, not me LOL But I had to put those possibilities out here because it was bugging me not to say what I thought 😆

Oh wow and good grief! Thank you Miracles! That is quite the something I would have never thought of.
It's not like me to get scared and I've been going on my gut feeling throughout all of this. But maybe my feelings have clouded my judgment. I'll ask T about his family or anyone he might have known. It could be that someone just wants me to pass on a message or something.
I really don't want to look at this ghost though. My gut just screams don't look whenever things get intense.

Tweed - I've read this a couple times and can't shake the possibility that it/he wants you to see him. Not necessarily just acknowledge (even in a vulgar manner LOL) but to look at him. Like when we were children and told to look someone in the eyes when you talk to them. That sorta thing.
Any chance, however remote, that this could be a family member or friend?
The other thing that has occurred to me is the possibility that empathically you are picking up on his fatigue and not your own. Or he's draining your energy trying to get your attention.

Thanks for your kind words and well wishes MaybeADreamer. I hadn't thought of it wanting us to talk about it together. That is a possibility. I had feared that bringing it up would make it worse. As in making me more afraid and it feeding off the fear. But had not thought that it wanted T and I to discuss it. If anything I thought it wouldn't like us discussing it, as in it would prefer me to be clueless to everything.
We've thought a lot about possible links and can't really come up with anything that makes sense.
So maybe the mere act of talking about it is it's aim.
There's an update to this which happened the evening of the day I submitted the story. It's as if it knows what I'm about to do, seek advice/opinions, and it tries to discourage me or something.
Anyway that night, went to bed feeling pretty confident about seeing the end of it. Got into bed, saw sort of the outline of a man standing by the bed, felt the fatigue, bed started shaking. It was the hardest it's ever shaken. After about a minute or so of meditation it weakened and stopped. Then I got two loud knocks on the end of the bed frame. I felt it wanted me to look, I DID NOT look! I threw the blankets over my face and waited for my guardian.
Ever since that night, if ever I go to bed first, I've been calling my guardian over to escort me to bed! I feel like such a lameo. Sometimes my husband works late, and sometimes I work late so there are a few nights we go to bed at different times.
Now we do the deep cleanse once a week and I've been burning a lot more incense than usual which helps too.
I just keep expecting it to get bored and move on but I guess it doesn't work like that.
Since that night, and our more regular cleansing, things have calmed down again.
Jeesh every time I hear the slightest tap or noise in the house I tense up now!

Tweed - Oh my word, these strange noises seem to happen to most of us 😕, although I cannot say what I think this is as I don't really know, however I do know what it is like to live with strange things going on around you and I know its not a nice feeling.
I have had a thought that may possibly help you, what if this spirit is the same spirit as T's and for some reason it wanted you two to discuss it. Does talking about a spirit give it any more power? I don't know just a thought. Or maybe there is something that you and T need to do together one day but it just hasn't told you yet.
Anyway, I am deffo NO EXPERT on all this and can only offer my thoughts. I wish you well and please update if you sort it or it gets worse. Xxxx

AAARRRRGGGHHHH! 😭
(I guess the program finds our agreeing too distasteful!)
I was trying to shout "YAYYY! Go, Tweed!" so you could hear me, 7 thousand miles away & 5 days in the past, before reading the other responses to your update, because we all need to hear positive outcomes from dire situations; all too often a supernatural narrative ends with "so we left" which is not a resolution to the story. (Sorry; typical English teacher's search for meaningful catharsis in experiences.) This was a FANTASTIC update! ("Tweed II: Outlasting Evil"?)
Ooop! Got to go!
-Biblio.
P.S.: Congrats!
