Yeah, the Mother asking for the OP left me confused too. I also don't understand why, when the knocking/pounding on the door started she didn't call out 'who's there?' or try to ascertain whom it might be instead of just freaking out. But then living on a remote mountain...eh, not so sure I wouldn't react the same.
The bed frame... Maybe it did have something attached, maybe it didn't. There really isn't enough to go on to be swayed either way. But, if the OP really feels it was, then for her, it was.

An object need not be destroyed is the point I think Tweed was trying to make... There are many, many different ways to 'detach' negitive energies or entities from objects they have become attached to. These methods are easier than an exorsism and do not require the object to be destroyed.

Heck now a days you can put the 'haunted' item up for sale on e-bay and possible make some money...

Msforgetmenott, I think it's great you and your family have those items. It's a wonderful heritage to pass to your family. You know the history of them and that's great. Our family will have things we've created as the start of their family heirlooms.

But purchased antiques and used items do not come in this house. I know it's hard to understand if you haven't experienced, but negative entities attached to items can cause horrible experiences. Despite what some might say, getting a negative entity unattached can be difficult.

So, to me, it's not worth risking. I'll stick with my reproductions.

OK folks the "this old lady" is finding she has to say something!

My husband and I have surrounded ourselves with items (small and large) that came down to us from family we very much loved. When I scan my living room, I see items that were once held, used and enjoyed by those in our family's older generations. Some have age of about 200 or more years, treasured by all that owned them. Their finger prints and ours blended.

We started a tradition during my Son's birthday and at Christmas. There are always two items, one from myself and one from my Husband's family. Watching my Son's reaction is priceless, plus we write who last owned it and all other history. Those gone before us, not forgotten.

Having said all that: I found your story mixed up and confusing, and misleading

This is why I do not like buying antiques; I am far from being an expert on the paranormal, but I had my own personal experiences. My opinion of your situation would be that something was attached to those bed frames. I have read and watched stories about objects that were haunted or had an attachment. I am glad that things didn't get any worse and you got rid of the frames.

Tweed, you've obviously never had an experience with a negative entity attached to something. Until you do, don't judge others for not wanting antiques in their home. It's certainly uncalled for to call their caution foolish and juvenile.

Rook, I understand where you're coming from, but I'd like to offer an alternative view.

My first experience is posted on another site. I'm amazed they published it because the writing is a convoluted mess. It would cause most YGS readers to scream in frustration.

My first paranormal experience was terrifying. Think horror movie and you've got what happened. Anyway, when I started typing it out on the keyboard all those emotions I'd felt when it happened came back. I was overwhelmed typing it out.

I think of that when I read some obviously true, but badly written posts here. Sometimes it's hard to retell a traumatic event.

Understood. Like I said it seems 'tacked on' as if the O/P is trying to validate their own 'feeling sick' around the bedframe.

I understand everyone is not a writer, and no one needs to be to submit their Experience (s), however getting it orginized using a 'word' program before subbmitting is greatly appreciated.

Whoops I really should have rephrased that.

I meant I couldn't grasp the same point about the mother. Why she was mentioned, from where did she ask after the OP (her status).
It felt like a weird detail to mention and I don't understand how it ties in. 😕

I was just wondering about the timing of things... Did the O/P's Mother ask about the O/P before passing away... Or not... The whole 'bit' about the O/P's Mother being ill and passing away seemed 'tacked on' as if to add some validation to how the O/P felt (getting sick) while putting the frame together.

URGH I hate this crap!
As an antique lover and somewhat collector who, is married to someone even more obsessed with old stuff, the fear of old stuff in your account really freaking annoys me.
Maybe it's because I've just wasted five minutes reading an obviously fabricated fictional story on here (not yours, another story).
There are details in this that I don't understand.
Please don't take this the wrong way, who arrived home in the truck? You referred to this person as your friend. I had a hard time following who this was.

Look, yes ghosts have attachments to things, old things are very popular and likely. But a fear of antiques or any old stuff is simply foolish and really rather juvenile.

I also didn't grasp Rook's point about the mother's status.

Blergh sorry to be a grump. I've lived with scary knocking I know how terrifying it is. It seems like the bed had something to do with it in your case. But if you ever come across this sort of thing again, look into other methods of getting rid of a negative attachment. Destroying everything is as good as vandalism.

It is a very interesting story and a high possibility that something could have came in the house with it. It's good that the spirit left when you removed it.

Ok gotta ask about this...

Did her Mother ask about you BEFORE she passed or was your friend telling you the spirit of her Mother was asking about you?

It is possible something came into your home when the bed was brought in. Did your partner have any weird things happen with his truck as he was taking it away?

I don't think your friend's mother asking about you had anything to do with the bed.
