Just to clarify sulfur does not always mean a demon. In the old catholic belief, the angel Uriel gave the same scent during his apparitions. Non demonic entities I have encountered gave the same sulfuric scent.

Hoochler: I am not a devout catholic. I learned to pray latin prayers from my grandfather. It is a fairly normal for grandparents of our culture to learn counter prayers in latin. In our culture the old believed in "Malidisyon". A form of curse that grants a painful and slow death to those who are unlucky enough to be a victim of this god-forsaken ritual. I seek council since I know very little in these things.

The most accessible source of information to me is the large amount of occult documents of my father. I suppressed my natural attraction to it ever since I was born and I will never delve into the occult. My father's family made their mistake and I will not make mine. So reading from those is not an option.

It is very normal for a catholic (even non devout ones) to feel safe around religious things. We are raised where these images means protection.

I carry a rosary always since even as a child I felt like a beacon attracting malevolent entities. I always attract A trick I learned from my father's last remaining brother is to close my mind and focus on something that can boost my courage and a rosary does that for me.

Apologies to those offended. I did not say pagan worships are horrible. It is what was included in those pagan rituals of our culture. Human Sacrifice and Blood Rituals (pertaining to Harvest rituals) to name a few. Screams of those in my vision still haunts me to this day.

I am a Catholic, and as such I am open minded to the fact that God takes on many forms. We Catholics do not assume our religion to be the one true religion but rather live our life in accordance to the way our messiah lived his - A LIFE OF HUMILITY AND RESPECT.

I do hope I have clarified some parts and have properly apologized to those offended

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice. This is in no means intended for a religious propaganda. I could not say with absolute certainty that there was divine intervention when I prayed for help. The reason the prayer worked for me is that it removed the fear in me. By reaffirming my faith I was able to remove the fear that it was feeding upon. I was able to focus and close off my mind.

As for the notion that this was a demon that attacked me, I have considered that one but I could not find any reason as to why it hunted me down and singled me out. I talked to my father's side relatives but all I get is to how my father's clan once delved into the occult but it was cut off about two generations before I was born.

Hoochler--you took the words right out of my mouth! Not to sound offensive in any way to KL, but I think that the way this was written made it sound a bit more like religious propoganda than a retelling of an experience. All the same, thank you for sharing your story, KL. I hope that you are safe and without disturbance now.

Warmest blessings,

DA

This was an interesting experience, thank you for sharing it. You have already been given some good advice by Rookdygin, I tend to agree with what he has already said here.

I also noticed your use (and constant carrying) of a rosary, displayed knowledge of many memorized prayers (one even being in Latin), intolerance of other religions (the pagan remark that DeviousAnngel took exception too) and your comfort at being surrounded by religious artifacts. All of this suggests that you are a devout Catholic. There is nothing wrong with that all by itself, but it makes me curious why you are on this site seeking input (mostly from non-Catholic "pagans") about an event that your faith is quite clear on?

Hmmm... Sulphur smell, mocking you at prayer, use of deception and terror, attracted by a Ouija board... Aren't these textbook examples of what the Catholic church would call a demon? Anyone who displays as many religious trappings as you do in this retelling would already know this, which makes me curious why you seek our council and not your local priest, especially with your first question "What was it?"?

If nothing else though, this serves as yet another example of how Ouija boards are a bad idea.

I don't mean to come off sounding condescending, I am just truly curious about the points I raise.

Hello. Firstly, I want to clarify one thing. I'm a bit offended that you call pagan worship a "horrible" image. "Pagan" only means "not Christian" so you could be referring to any number of religions other than Christianity practicing worship, many of which do not contain torturous or "horrible" rituals.

Anyway, that aside, I think this was a case of a strong spirit summoned from the game your cousins were playing. It was taking advantage of your fear. The more you fear a spirit, the more strength you will give it, and it sounded like you were having a panic attack in the midst of this haunting. That's truly the worst thing to do! Have faith in your god and your prayers and do not allow a spirit to bully you. I don't think this was a demon or anything like that, just a very strong spirit. It's possible that there were multiple spirits working to harass you at the same time. A spirit cannot kill you, so I don't think you were in any imminent danger (except for grasping that rosary too hard!) Just don't let a spirit know how frightened you are of it, no matter how powerful it is!

Warmest blessings,

DA

Thank you for this story, I may not have any answers for you, but a few possibilities I can offer...

First: As far as how it got out of the room your friends were doing the ritual in... If they just sat down and started reaching out to make contact then no one took precautions to help contain anyone/thing that was contacted. So any spirit (s) contacted were free to go/do what they wanted.

Second: I don't think CALEB came alone and while the one that called itself CALEB was causing havoc with your friends another was attracted to the strength of your spirit and you proved yourself beyond a doubt. 😁

Third: These spirits/entities call them what you will can cross the boundary between the spirit world and the physical world. I feel that they can 'pull information' from our minds, it allows them to 'know; things about us and to use it for/against us. (depends on it being a benevolent spirit or an 'evil' spirit.)

Fourth: It also sounds as if your actions closed the 'portal' your friends had opened when they started their ritual. I'm glad that your Aunt had the room blessed afterward.

I am not saying these are the correct answers, but they are very real possibilities. Again thanks for sharing.

Respectfully,

Rook
