Fascinating. Have you had any communication with the 'others' in your home? Just curious-there may be some unfinished business that is keeping them here. From the activity you describe, it doesn't sound as if they mean any harm.

Thats good that the girl confirmed what you seen heard and felt. The girl walking the staircase sounds like a residual haunting imprinted in time, the girl death was probably involving the staircase. Regarding the other experiences I am not to sure about, you mentioned the house has seen a lot of negative activity this can often attract certain types of entities. Angeldemon brought up a good point in regards to the couch, sometimes used goods have spirits attached to them. Just a thought.

Wow! When I hear about people that witness ghosts that do repetitive movements (in this case walking up and down the stairs) it always makes me very curious and a little upset. What could be possessing this spirit to behave this way? Something traumatic, I'm sure. Also, I wonder how it is for them to be around humans so much. I mean, sitting on furniture with other people, and what about when someone uses the stairs? Does the girl just walk through them and ignore them, continuing the repetition? I wonder. It's rather sad to think about. 😢

maybe something tragic happened in the house while you guys were away. Something no one knows of. I am only talking about the girl. Maybe something happened to her. Can you tell the person who saw her identify her? Who she is? And perhaps link her to a possible recent police case.

And about the man. Perhaps its related to the sofa. Where did you purchase it from? If it is from an antique shop things make a lot of sense 😉
