Everything began happening when we moved into the new section of a small town not far from our old farm. I was only about 9 at the time when we first moved so I hadn't heard the stories about the bones dug up to make room for the new development of houses.
Anyways, I was a 9 year old girl excited to be moving into a nice big new house. I had everything unpacked and decided to go play in our basement. I always played with this porcelain doll my grandma gave me. So I was playing house downstairs and I left my doll on the couch and went to the bathroom, when I came out of the bathroom my doll was gone. Confused, I looked around the room and there was my doll sitting on the other side of the room, that I hadn't went anywhere near. I grabbed her and went back upstairs and refused to play down there anymore.
Then, when I was about 14, my parents decided to move me downstairs. So I packed up my stuff and moved into the basement. I set my favorite snow globe on top of my dresser. While I was asleep that night I woke up to hear my snow globe playing music, which I hadn't heard it do in years because I hadn't turned the knob since I was like 7. Terrified, I grabbed the snow globe and put it in my dresser drawer. A few hours later I awake to the sound of glass smashing and my snow globe was shattered on the floor.
I was so terrified of being in the basement alone that my parents got me a dog to sleep with. The first night I had him was the last time he was downstairs. I was woken up in the middle of the night to him barking at what appeared to be nothing. Suddenly he cried out and whimpered at the end of my bed, and when I looked at him he had a small mark on the end of his nose. He wouldn't come back downstairs again after that night unless we forced him and even then he'd run straight back upstairs.
Another time when I was 16 I was home alone for the night laying in bed. Suddenly I heard a door close upstairs and footsteps were in the room above me. I called my mom to ask if they were home and she said "No, we won't be home until tomorrow afternoon." Then the footsteps continued to walk across the house and then I heard them going down the stairs, and I heard the furnace room door open and slam shut. I was horrified and I climbed out my window and ran into the street and waited for my boyfriend to show up. I demanded he look in the furnace room and the rest of the house but we couldn't find anyone or anything.
When I told people about these weird things happening I was told about the bones that were dug up in our area but were tossed aside because the builders thought it was just a family grave site.
Weird things have continued to happen in the house such as sounds, voices, shadows and foot steps. I still refuse to be alone in the basement in the dark.
