The Stair Walker

It about was 2 years ago. I sleep in the same room with my sister, but my bed is closest to the door which goes to the basement.

It was pitch black. And it was a school night. I was half asleep I might say but could hear everything around me. About 5 minutes into my sleep, I hear walking-a walking so fond you could hear the creaking in the stairs that's been there for years.

It was very frightening, because every time I opened my eyes and just stared at the door waiting until something comes creeping out, the walking stopped...

I lay back in bed, my eyes closed. It begins. I don't know what it is but it was scaring me. Cold wind shivers up my spine. I look at my sister sleeping as usual. Not noticing what was going on.

I wake up my mom and tell her what's going on. All she says is "it just the pipes". I rarely believe her. I know it not the pipes because what pipe would stop every time I look at it?

So I tell my dad and he actually understands me and he told me that I can sleep in my older sister's room. She wasn't home and it's always dark, but as long as it's away from that creepy door I'm alright.

But nothing changed, I could still hear the walking, one by one it'd creep up the old stairs. I tried to fall asleep, I eventually did. But it kept going ever since...

Any answers to where this is coming from?

Thanks for giving some time to read this:]

You should get a background check on the house.
About how old is the house?
Can you find out anything about all the previous owners?
I'm sure some neighbours that have been there longer might know, or you can ask your parents to ask the real estate agent that sold them the house.

Just like moms not to believe:P My mom is the same way -_- She doesn't believe ANYTHING I say about ghosts, and yet she takes a panic attack at the mention of a ouija board because she's afraid that demonic spirits will enter the home (she also says my atheism is going to bring in demons -_-"'). I don't see how you can believe in demons but completely deny the existence of anything paranormal at the same time O-o'

Sam I believe you because I had a similar experience when I was young after we had a black out. My whole family was so frightened by the lights going out that we all slept in the same room. All night I heard the creaking on the stairs, I was actually at my Grandmother's house and that house was very old. I just knew someone or something would come in the door that night. This was no creaking from the house being cold.

I agree with these guys - more info needed. You obviously have your heart set on it being on a ghost, but realistically it is probably something silly. Remember houses creak when the temperature drops at night time.

Did this happen just the one night, or has it been happening every since it started? It might be paranormal, it might not, too hard to say without more information. Keep in mind that if it is indeed paranormal it might not be anything more than a spirit screwing with you (they have to have their fun too), and always remember they can feed of the energy you put out from your fear.

Sam Hi and welcome to our company!

You ask a very difficult question as opposed to the little information you provide concerning your experience. Can it be something "paranormal"? Yes and no. Just because the noise stops whenever you turn towards its direction doesn't make it an intelligent haunt. It might be a coincidence unless that has happened too often.

How long have you been hearing this noise? I refrain from asking if you have had other experiences since I feel that if this was the case, you would have already mentioned it.

Thank you.
