Fitzwater Cemetery And The Girl On Tombstone

This happened around 1953 in Upper Dublin Township, Pennsylvania at the Fitzwater cemetery, Twining Road. This cemetery has a large stone wall around it about 4 to 5 feet high.

I was riding my horse past the cemetery as I was heading for home like I normally do. I lived up the hill from the cemetery about 500 yards. In the woods my horse was always skittish going past that cemetery around dusk.

This evening she was especially skittish and had her ears up, her body and head turned, and was sidestepping. I looked over at the cemetery and I saw a young lady sitting on the favorite big tombstone every one likes to sit on.

This young lady waved to me so I waved back. I smiled and yelled over to her, "Hi!" She smiled back. As we watched, her raised hand started to evaporate at the top and continued on down her arm and then the rest of her just slowly vanished.

Well this raised the hair on the back of my neck and goose bumps ran up my spine. We crossed the road quickly and up the dirt bank I turned my horse towards home and we ran the rest of the way.

Since then we would give the cemetery a wide path and my horse was still always skittish going past but we never saw the young girl after that.

A very good story. I think its amazing how animals can feel things that most cannot.

That is a very good story. If you have read any of mine, you will see that I record a lot in cemeteries. Why the dead, hang around there, I don't know why...

To Hazzardsyndrome
My grandson looked at that grave and he says the big name in the middle of that huge tombstone is "ROYAL"
Belonging to an Augustin S. B.1854 - d. 1931, Robert P. B.1875 - d. 1884. Mary F. B.1857- d. 1935
that is all it has on it.

animals see things we can't because they never have had anyone telling them it is just your imagination or you were just seeing things. Maybe if we werent told this at such a young age, and our minds were open up we would see as they do. Consider yourself lucky to have seen something like you did and that it was as pleasent ghost. 😉 ❤

I will ask my grandson (who lives in the old house I lived in) if he will go check the name on that tomb stone and let you all know which one it is.
I now live in West Virginia which we have discovered is loaded with ghost.
Thank you all for your comments.

excellent story, this is defiantly going in my favs.
Seems your horse was right to be cautious of the cemetery, do you think the tombstone could have been hers? Can you remember the name on it?
Thanks for sharing

Very good story! And to think... You still had 500 more yards to go until home. I'm sure that was plenty of time to let it all sink in and scare you even more.

Reading your story made the hair on my neck stand up and sent shivers down my spine just like it did to you when you spotted that girl! 😨

I probably would have won the race getting home before the horse! 😊

My horse, Dayse was probably relieve that I could finally see what she had always been so skittish about all the time. That old horse and I had a lot of experiences with spirit's vanishing.
There were a lot of the Mundock Indian's spirits there. Everyone who lived on top of that hill had experiences with them. 😨

I like your story, I wonder what your horse were thinking when you said hi to a ghost 😊
