Odds And Ends

I have several more paranormal experiences I'd like to tell all of you about so I decided to combine them into one story since each incident doesn't take much explaining. First I'll tell you about the EVP I recorded back in April of 2008. I was living in an apartment building at that time that was built in the 1960's. I had just bought myself a digital recorder and wanted to try it out. I put it in my bedroom on top of my dresser and left the room. I let it record for about 45 minutes. When I played it back, I got a nasty surprise! There was a voice on there, about 38 minutes into the recording. A scary sounding voice, sounds like a male whisper. It's hard to make out exactly what is being said, but it's either 1 word with 2 syllables or it could be 2 words spoken very quickly. To me, it sounds like it could be saying "Toby". One person I played it for thought it was saying "Help me". I was chilled to the bone when I heard it and didn't want to sleep in that room again!

This incident took place in that same apartment. I have no proof that it was paranormal but it's certainly very possible that it was, so I'll mention it here. This took place in mid February of 2009. I had gone to the movies with my daughter, her boyfriend and my son. We had just come home and I was the last one in the door. My son had gone into the bathroom and my daughter and her boyfriend were going to sit on the couch. I had my back to the room because I was closing and locking the door. I heard my daughter gasp and her boyfriend said "What the hell?" I turned in time to see a DVD along with a piece of paper come sailing off of our television onto the floor! They both landed at my daughter's feet! We didn't know what to think of that! I don't see how it could have happened all on its own because DVDs have some weight to them so I don't think they can go sailing around a room all on their own! Very strange! I'd like some feedback on this particular incident just to see what some of you have to say about it. That would be great!

There's one more thing I'd like to tell you about but it didn't happen to me personally, it happened to my daughter. This story revolves around a very sad incident in our lives. You see, my daughter's boyfriend, the one I mentioned in the previous incident, died unexpectedly last June. He was only 20 years old and my daughter was devastated, as was I. They had been together for 3 years and had plans to get married and have a family. I'm sure you can all understand how badly she was hurting inside. She made lots of trips to the cemetery where he was buried to visit his grave. She loves taking pictures and putting them on her Facebook account, so she naturally took pictures of his headstone. One evening she was missing him badly and went to the cemetery to visit him. She had her camera with her and was near his grave taking pictures. In one of the pictures, there's a very strange misty figure. It almost looks like smoke, but where did it come from? My daughter doesn't smoke, so it couldn't be that. It wasn't cold out at all, it was still summer so it wasn't her breath. She showed me the picture and asked me what I thought it was. I told her maybe it's her boyfriend making his presence known. I think that gave her some comfort when I said that because she was thinking the same thing. Even in death, our loved ones can still find ways to let us know they're still here with us, watching out for us! What a lovely thought!
