lynrinth, no we are not Christian. We're actuly Atheist, and no that's why I came on here because there wasn't anyone I could actuly talk to about it without having them think my sister and I were crazy. As far as I know neither of us did anything to trigger this. My sister is the only one who communicates with it, like I said before. One knock for yes, two for no.

Funny thing, everyone is talking using holy water to banish this thing. Or invoking the name of Jesus. One thing you never told us was are you even Christian? Maybe the religion you do use, whether Christian or not, can help you. Is there someone who you even think you can talk to? There are things you can do to begin to even understand. Look up the history of the house, or land, if something tragic happened. Do you or your sister do something recently that could have triggered this? Or your uncle or relative? Try communicating with this thing? That could be touching. Still, it could be a dark entity, maybe something, just taking from my point of view, prayer, or try banishing it some religious way? Hopeful some more helpful hints will come along. Good luck.

To explain Miracles51031, we share the same bed we just sleep about two to three feet away from eachother. It's a twin thing, and to your question, she's younger than me by three minutes. So really she's my little sister, always will be.
Also shamby, Kadan is a male name. And yes it does have long hair, but that's from a side view I guess because when it looks up at me when I turn the lights off again, it looks like it has broad shoulders. Also she doesn't like Ouija boards, her ex boyfriend liked that sort of thing until she told him it would only turn on him. He left it alone after that, and yes she does have some communication with it.

After reading the story and all the posts (BJJ and I usually agree), I don't think its a poltergeist. That doesn't seem to fit. Who owned the house before your uncle? Do some research on the house, try a local library or the internet. Library might have more specific information though, look at old newspapers and local things. Talk to family as well. Even your parents, tell them what's going on because they may have noticed things, and believe me you aren't crazy. Because if you are, we all are.
Clearly the entity has more of a feminine energy (you mentioned it looked like it had very long hair) and your sister named it a feminine name. Your twin spacing out is frightening... I don't like the sound of that. To your knowledge has she played with an Ouija or anything of the like? When did it start coming around? Try asking your sister for a bit more information on the entity. You mentioned she has some kind of communication with it... It sounds like it has music in common with her. That could be a link between them. Music is a powerful thing, and it wouldn't surprise me if it can link two beings together from very different places. Best of luck, please keep us posted!

DH - first...Granny, darn it, here I thought I had an awesome idea and I look and you've already suggested it! What the heck?! Great minds and all that 😆
The only thing I would suggest is don't discuss the switch in the house where the ghost, entity whatever you have can hear you. Wait until you and your sister are totally away from the house to do it. Make sure it's a natural action when you switch beds. Don't make any obvious moves like "oh yeah, shoot, I forgot I'm supposed to be in this bed, not my bed." Be normal. Do everything you normally do, just opposite.
You keep referring to her as your little sister? Just how much difference is there in your age?

Well zzsgranny, I'll be sure to try the 'switcheroo' idea. We always did that to confuse other's back in grade school so it might work. And no, it's not just at night that she experiences that thing, and when I see it it's hard to explain. Yes I feel fear when I see it but why wouldn't I? She's my little sister, I'm worried for her. But it just seems like when it's not looking at me, the room feels somewhat peaceful. When it does look at me, the room seems tense and the air feels heavy.

DH: Here's something I would try if I were you and your sister: switch sides... You know, the old "twin switcheroo"! 😆...Also, I don't know how much you look like your sister, but could the entity have been perplexed by the resemblance, and so, glaring at you?...
Is night time the only time she experiences the entity?...And what kind of sensations do you get when you see it: fear, curiousity, nothing extraordinary?...I ask because, one of the things this points to is a possible OBE (out of body experience) on her part...
As far as her actions of late, not eating and spacing out, that could be from inadequate rest and lack of sleep... Sleep deprivation can wreak havoc on a person...
❤

I'll try the holy water idea BadJuuJuu. I don't really think my mother and father would take lightly to the fact that something is bothering my sister, paranormally anyway. Our mother and father are rather strict, and because of our family they expect the best out of my sister and I. So telling them is basicly asking to be disowned and sent away, but I'll try to bring it up the way you mentioned. I'll keep updates on what happens to, 😕 thanks for the help though, it's really helpful knowing that I'm not going crazy and I might be able to help my sister.

I don't really know whether naming an entity makes a difference. My husband swears it makes an entity more powerful, but the few I've taken the time to name haven't seemed to grow stronger. Also, I only name the ones that have been around for awhile so I can't say if a name will make an entity want to stay. That's just been my experience though, it may one of those things that changes entity to entity.
Now, just to be clear, I'm not believing this is a demon, but I will tell you what one of our posters, a demonologist, would say. Get, and use, especially at night, catholic holy water. Put it on your bed, and call on the names of Jesus, Mary, and St Michael the arch angel. I don't know if that will help (I'm not a christian) but it can't hurt. If nothing else it's reaction should tell you something about it's nature. That will provide more information on how to deal with it.
I spent years afraid to tell my mom the paranormal stuff I went through. I thought what you think, that I would be considered crazy. I finally told her when I was around 21-ish. To my surprise she believed me and had experiences of her own. Think about telling your parents, or at least one of them. You don't have to come right out and say the house is haunted and picking on your sister. Start off by asking "hey did you hear that piano music last night?" Or mentioning you think you saw something but it wad maybe a dream. Start with something like that to guage their reaction. They just may surprise you by believing.
I really wish I had an answer for you. You have me stumped. I'll keep thinking though, something may click.

Well to answer your first question BadJuuJuu, I asked her that too. She told me she made a rule for the thing to follow until she knew what to do about it. One knock for yes, two for no. She told me she got one knock, and she named the thing Kadan. I've seen her space out a lot ever since that thing started showing up on her side of the bed, so maybe she communicates with it that way or something? I don't know really, it's hard to say. I may be her twin but we still don't know each other's thoughts.
The only thing she tells me about it is that it follows her to school every now and then, and she asked if it likes music, she got one knock. My sister loves playing the violin, sometimes she would just walk out of the house into the backyard just to play it so she doesn't wake anyone up. The fact I'm hearing piano music whenever she plays her violin is weird. I would be sitting in my room, she would be playing the violin and I would hear a piano playing also. I would get up, but the closer I got the lower the sound would go. Until it stops all together.
I also want to know if it's a bad thing that she named it, will it stick around if she keeps calling it that name?

I've never heard of a confused poltergeist, but I imagine I could fill a million libraries with things I've never heard of. Ok, several million libraries lol.
How did your sister know this entity wanted a name? I guess a better way to phrase that would be, how is she communicating with it? Is she picking up thoughts through empathy, using EVP, or some other type of communication? Also, how long has she been talking to this entity? Communication and acknowledgement can increase activity.
Deciding how to get rid of it depends on what sort of entity it is. Professorfink's suggestions work IF you are dealing with something demonic, and if you have full faith in what you are saying. A human ghost couldn't care less about being rebuked in the name of Jesus. You can pray a ghost crosses over and finds peace, you can tell a human ghost to leave, you can set rules for a ghost's behavior. But ultimately, because humans have free will and demons do not, telling a ghost to get out in Jesus' name will likely have no result.
So, figuring out what you have in your home will have a lot of bearing on how to deal with it.

Yes we are teenagers, and yes I've heard of poltergeists. The thing is though my sister is the least stressed person in our family, and the only person who is stressful, is never around.
For your second theory, no my sister didn't insult the house or anything inside of it, she loves this place. We both do, we spent most our lives with our uncle here in this house until he died and our mother and father gained the property.
For your last theory, I did try using sage when this first started happening, I want to tell our mother and father, but I'm worried they might send us off thinking we're crazy or something. I could care less if it goes after me, I just want whatever it is to leave my sister alone.
If this helps any though, the shadow always looks like it has really long hair, really long. Down to your knees kind of long. She also gave the thing a name, so now when I hear her up in our room she tries to talk to the thing. She named it Kadan, which means companion in Japanese. I told her not to name it, but she just told me to be quiet because it wanted a name.
Do you think it might be a confused poltergeist or something?

K, not sure what to make of this, but I'll throw a couple theories out here.
I'm assuming the two of you are teenagers, which gives me Theory A. Are you familiar with poltergeists? This type of manifestation typically happens around teenagers. Stress, hormones, all the fun stuff that makes teens miserable sort of coalesces into it's own energy form and makes a "haunt." It usually focuses itself on one person in the household, the person whose energy spawned it. In a few poltergeist cases the energy can cause harm. Poltergeists can be mild, just a few noises, or can involve moving objects, disembodied voices, slamming doors, occasionally injury. The Phelps Mansion in Stratford, Connecticut had a fairly famous poltergeist haunting. It was an extreme case, most aren't that harsh, but this one is pretty well documented and you should be able to find it online. Also, the Atlantic Paranormal Society has a decent article on their site on poltergeists. It's a place to start research. When it comes to the paranormal, I always give the same advice. Read and research. Learn. Never stop looking for answers, whether those answers are paranormal or normal, keep looking.
Theory B. Could your sister have insulted something in the house? Even accidentally she may have ticked someone off. If she has disrespected the house in some way a former resident could be trying to tell her about it. If she remembers having insulted the home ("stupid house! I hate this place!" "Omg my room is the ugliest shade of blue! Who picked this color!" "This place is so out of date!") She may try apologizing to the house. If she ticked someone off they will probably forgive her and quit hassling her.
Theory C. Don't know what your religious beliefs are, but if stuff just won't leave her alone have the home cleansed and blessed according to your belief system. If you have no particular belief system, sage is amazing. Go to a New Age shop, grab a sage bundle. Light it as you would incense, go from room to room letting the smoke drift over everything. Envision the smoke driving out all negative energy. Once you have smoked each room, put a line of salt at each window and outside door. Salt is pure, evil can't cross it. This has worked very well for me.
