It was 1975 and my uncle had just gone through a very rough divorce, he lost his home and the custody of his children. The only thing he was able to hang on to was his truck. He needed a place to stay, so he stayed at his parent's house (my grandparents). Things seemed to have been going fine for a while, he still had his job and it seemed as though he was feeling better, at least that was what his family assumed...
One night they came home from a party, Scott's truck was in the driveway, his bedroom light was on, but the house was silent. They called out for Scott, but he did not answer. They made their way to his room and made a horrific discovery... While everyone was out at a party Scott had taken his father's shotgun, placed the barrel of the gun in his mouth, pulled the trigger and blew his brains out. It was a bloody mess in the bedroom, the bed had been stained with blood and gore had splashed up on the wall behind his corpse. It was a horrible time for the family and Scott was dearly missed... Time moves on and emotional scars tend to heal over. Scott's room was remodelled and cleaned up and turned into a guest room. That is when everyone noticed something funny about the room...
A stain in the same location of where Scott's flesh splattered on the wall had formed; it was a dull colour of dried blood and had leaked through the wall paper. Disturbed, but rationalizing it was simply a stain, they attempted to fix the stain and succeeded. A few days later the stain came back, they fixed it again... A week later the stain came back, they fixed it again... Another week passed by and the stain came back, they fixed it again...
And again...
And again...
Eventually they gave up on fixing the stain. Whatever the stain was, it was refusing to go away and the family just had to deal with it. It is still in Scott's old room, a constant reminder of what happened to my late uncle Scott.
I think your poor uncle scott's spirit was angry that people forget about him so maybe that was his own way of communicating and reminding your family that even though he is gone, he will never leave their hearts. Rest in peace.xxx
