Just to specify, we speak French in my house so I will include what I heard and then a translation. I live at home with my parents, siblings and a cat. We live in my mom's childhood home (renovated of course, it used to be a bungalow with 3 very small bedrooms and 1 and half baths. We added a level thus 3 bigger bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms). My aunt lived here and so did my grandma before they died (both in hospitals years ago, like over 20 for my aunt and 10 for my grandma. Both on my moms side.) I never met my aunt.
Now that all of the housekeeping is done I can get on with the story (life experience it literally happened yesterday... Still really freaked out by it). My sisters (2) and my cat all left for the cottage. I went to work (I work retail such fun). And my parents both went to a wedding whilst I was at work. It was a 5 hour shift but I still felt really okay. I got in my car did a couple errands and came home.
The moment I walked in the house it felt... Off... It was too quiet. I felt watched somehow even though I knew I was alone. So I walk in felt really off but kept on anyway. I was checking doors and windows making sure none of them were damaged. I then proceeded to make sure the radio was off. I don't know why, I just did, I don't like the radio.
I was still feeling watched so I turned on some lights to get rid of that feeling. That's when I noticed it, some of the upstairs lights were on. I thought it was really weird because my parents, frugal as they are would never have left the house with ANY lights on.
So dumb old me even though I knew I was alone called out "maman? Que fait tu encore à la maison?" (Mom? What are you still doing home). And I got an answer "en haut Lylac" (upstairs Lylac) In my moms voice might I add. And so I naturally went upstairs to greet my mother. Only to find that no one was there. (naturally I should of known they told me they wouldn't be home).
I looked in every room; no one. I still felt watched and to add to it I swear I felt like something was laughing at me. LAUGHING. I have no clue what is going on in my house right now but I am pretty freaked out. So I calmly ignored whatever was laughing at me went downstairs and then turned on the radio and made myself diner and watched a movie on my laptop.
I have more experiences but this is the most recent one.
