This incident happened 29 years ago in New Delhi with my uncle. He was working at Safdarjung Airport in those days as a senior cargo inspector. He usually managed cargo for international flights during the night. He's fond of wearing strong perfumes and still owns a vast collection.
The Incident:
He usually left at 7:30-8 in the evening and returned early in the morning. When this incident happened, it was winter in India, and those used to be foggy winters back then. He used his two-wheeler to commute. The road to the airport in the 90s was not aptly built. It was a messy pass that connected to the airport. The pass was poorly lit with trees around.
That night, he was en route to the airport carrying some documents. With a slight jerk to the scooter, the documents slipped and were scattered on the ground. He parked his scooter aside and started collecting the papers. Now, I'll quote what he said: "Even though it was foggy, I saw a pair of legs. JUST LEGS. I thought someone from nearby came to help, but I was wrong. Those legs started to move around, and I was unable to process what was going on."
He left the remaining scattered papers and rushed home as his blood ran cold. I believe he broke all traffic rules that night.
The After-Effect:
He was down with a fever. My grandmother approached a priest & uncle narrated the incident. The priest applied Durga vibhuti and advised him to avoid secluded paths at night. Uncle was strictly advised not to wear strong perfumes at night because negative energies & ghouls are attracted to such fragrances.
Though his love for riding two-wheelers never faded, his addiction for wearing perfumes at night definitely ended. He still gets jitters whenever he narrates this experience.
Today, the road to Safadarjung Airport is properly built and well-lit. However, I'm unsure if such incidents are reported there or not.
