It sounds really scary what you went through. I have seen nice ghosts nice things. I have never ever been harm by strange things such as spirits and ghosts. I have been blinded once which lasted 2 seconds by a massive orb. I don't know why something is harming you like that. Have you done anything wrong?

After carefully reading your article again and again I have another possible conclusion to what you and many of your commentors experienced.
It is called Sleep Paralysis. It is a sleep disorder that allows your conscious mind to awaken before your physical body awakens. It is extremely frightening! Many people I have interviewed as well as my own experiences will state "it was as if someone was sitting on my chest trying to suffocate me". You, for all intents and purposes are stuck between the unconscious and conscious state for what seems like a long time (but it in reality is just seconds - in most cases) - and some very strange things are seen, heard and felt during these terrifing episodes.
Not to imply you did not see a ghost - but my explanation seems more likely and believe it or not just as exciting and terrifying.
I have had sleep paralysis since childhood. It comes and goes - and seems to manifest itself when I am experiencing stress in my life (but not always).
An interesting footnote is that I have since been able to experience incredible things since the removal of the terrible FEAR associated with Sleep Paralysis. Hard to believe for some but what I refer to is out-of-body experience (OBE) and Luicid Dreaming (to control one's own dreams). I would be happy to give more insight anyone that has had trouble or extreme fear with these issues.

I had a similar experience with a guy I just started dating. Three times I stayed at his house, three times I woke up gasping for air, feeling like I was being suffocated and something heavy was on my chest. After a couple days of not talking to him to much, he called me. Jokingly he said, maybe it was the ghost sitting on your chest and I said, what? Turns out his house is haunted. Some guy killed himself.

Ya its kind of scary to think there are spirits that can do that. I'm so afraid of ghost's and stuff, one time I was at my aunts and I stayed there for 3 days. The first 2 days I slept with the light on, and the last night I fell asleep with the light off. And I felt someone sit at the bottom of my bed. I was terrified, but I didn't want to scream incase I was just dreaming, this happened just after my grandmothers funeral. And it was my grandmas sisters house that I was staying at.

Could be the "witch". Ever heard of that? Supposedly a witch will choose a victim and either lay or sit on ones chest and suffocate them to death. I can't say for sure that this is what it is, but I have seen cases similar to this which relate to the "witch." Some people say that the witch is ones own personal burdens and anguish, and eventually catches up to you in a physical way. Check it out.

contrary to popular belief, death is actually portrayed in most culutres as being dressed in white instead of black. whatever that thing was Rebecca, it probably won't come back. things like that enjoy having power over you and since you fought back and drove it away, it more than likely won't try anything else...unless he gets help...in that case, I hope you're prepared. but, I understand where you were coming from with the whole cats thing. I got a pretty big one myself and I rely on him to sense things that I can't pick up on myself.

Hey that must've been scary, I'm so sorry it happened. and this is for Morning Star: how cruel and evil of you, I can't believe you want it to happen again to poor Rebbecca, how can you be glad that Rebbecca was near death? nobody deserves to die like this. Rebbeca don't listen to him/her wutever. If this happens again, maybe you should pray and do a bible session or something to drive the thing away.

Hi Martin,
Yes, I know all about "sleep paralysis", but I can guarantee you that I was definitely awake (I am a light sleeper, because of the cats) and, additionally, this went on for quite awhile...much longer than most cases of so-called "sleep paralysis". I don't know - all I can tell you is what I believe to be true based on my own experiences. Most "scientists" who debunk paranormal experiences due to "night terrors" and "sleep paralysis" have never themselves experienced them. If they did, they would change their minds. And, btw, I'm a scientist also...who severely poo-pooed all this stuff before...until it started happening to me. :-)

This is a horrible experience and you are very courageous to have dealt with it the way you did, without losing your will, or your mind, for that matter. I think you must have a lot of psychic sensitivity to be able to see these entities. I am wondering, however, if it is possible that you experienced sleep paralysis and simply got stuck in the etheric plane before fully integrating your body while trying to wake up? This is a far out ghost experience, way beyond the doors opening on their own or the subtle whispers in the ears... Anyway, I'm not doubting the story, just trying to analyze possible angles. Many would have gone crazy after such an event. Glad you didn't ;)
