I second BrokenTree and Rook and would like to know the answer to those questions. Also to this question: Did you tell your parents about what you experienced?

I'm not sure about the later part of your experience and I won't come to a judgement until you answer the questions but with the part about having the dream and then seeing the ghost girl behind your door, I have one theory. My theory is that since you just woke up and you mind was still on the dream, your eyes might have played tricks on you.

Dreaming that your a paranormal investigator suggest to me you have an interest in the paranormal and have been reading up on it RIGHT?... Feelings that someone is watching you, are on most occasion's signs of paranormal paranoia not always but often, admitting that your a huge scaredy cat are all vindications of what I just said and maybe more to come... Be careful mate, your mind and your spiritual mind can play some convincing tricks that might transform some of those dreams into to lucid nightmares and believe me you don't want that to happen, the mist may well be some type of negative energy or poltergeist as Rook pointed out... If I was you mate, I would refocus your thoughts and give the paranormal a big miss... Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I don't like where your heading with this.

You say this seemed to start 6 months to a year ago, with the latest experience being on July 1st of this year...

I have to second BrokenTree's question and raise you another one...

Have you just recently entered the ranks of being a teenager? I ask because the energy an individual produces while going through Puberty can 'stir' things up around them. The most common activity is Poltergeist in nature, but a 'dormant' spirit may have been stirred up with the 'energy output' of a changing 'teens body and emotions.

she doesn't seem to be wanting anything from you as such. She could just be passing through or attached to an object. Are you bothered by her presence? If so here is a quick and easy cleansing method.
Start by cleaning out any unneeded clutter, than open all windows letting light seep into every inch of the house. (also open closets ect) Leave it for a day to chase out bad energies. You can than use a technique known as smudging which is when you burn either incense or sage (sage is my preference) work the smoke all through the house, making sure you get it into corners. Note this is very simple and may not work for stronger spirits.

Hi! I think your girl 'unseen' just want to be acknowledge. If she didn't do anything to harm anyone in your family just ignore her or talk to her.
Ask what she want or why she is still in your house. Some spirit just want to hang out with the living and co-exist with them. Don't be afraid with her.

Did you recently buy something old from a fleamarket or antique store? Did anyone else? She's there for a reason and that could mean that someone in the house has a possession of hers that she is attached to and is following. At least she is not mean.
