Anne,

Check the history of the house, prior to you living their who did? How long did it take for the house to get sold? Spirits often enjoy living in areas where no human life is found. Thus, not being bothered. At times when I am sitting alone, I hear someone calling my name, yet really, no one is there. What is the cause of that? A dead being? A spirit from another plane? Or even maybe a Jin (demon)

Definately do some re-search on your home. Also, I'd often pray in it and ask the being to leave the house and go find the light. If you were experiencing this back in 1995 and never solved the issue. Trust, the girl is somewhere in that house now.

I probally would have thought it was cute for a ghost to say that to me yet, i would probally do further investigation in finding out why the ghost girl called you mommy and why she is there.

I think there's nothing to be afraid of... I mean, there are ghosts very mean but if she meant any harm she wouldn't act like that... Probably the little girl doens't even know she's dead, you should try and talk to her and tell her she has to "follow the light". I know it isn't that easy, but if she called you, or just called to her mother, she isn't aware that she doesn't belong here anymore.

Things like these are frequent, don't fight it, talk to her.

Most human spirits and ghosts that I have met are quite friendly and very lonely. They may be a bit apprehensive at first of you, especially if you are moving into 'their' home. Once they understand that they can stay as long as the behave, there're usually aren't many incidents. I don't think she's a residual haunting - a physic imprint made by energy while the person was living. These fad and disapear over time. At the very least she's a ghost and may very well need help. She may have 'missed the boat' so to speak and may not know how to move on. Talk to her - she's probably looking for her family. Find someone competent (which can be a challenge) who can help her move on, or help her finish anything she may need.

Thats very intresting theory Luke. It would explain the heat-cold differences. Instead of running though, why not stay and see? Of course we should use wisdom and be careful, but if we need to protect ourselves we can simply envision positive energy forming into a barrier around us. Whether we have bodies or not, we are still capable of powerful actions.

It seems to me that almost all ghosts arent mean (theyre just like ordinary people but much wiser). I think we often have bad feelings when around ghosts because its a part of the world we dont know alot about (causing fear). And because ghosts are at a loss for chakra/chi/lifeforce (etc) and have to gather it from thier surroundings and us, we interpret that as threatening. Im not saying its nothing to be afraid of, never go driving wearing a blindfold! But after you run screaming stop and think about what it might have needed.

Perhaps she was manifesting through to the physical plane at those moments, when the whole time she could have been in that house, speaking as well as asking questions. I suspect that many times these entities are around, yet for some reason perhaps somehow the vibrations shift so that they are visible to those of us in the physical.

For most, I think it's human nature to want to ignore what we're afraid of, especially what we can't see. I guess I could try and talk to her *gulp*. I also wonder too how much if a door opens when you start doing that? I mean, not that that should stop me but is there an "entrance only for you" energy that can be given off? I wonder.

When I read the story didn't make me feel like runung out of the house. I would try to find out who she was and how she was coming and asking questions.
Whoever wrote this story I would definetly find out the history of the house and try to help the little girl

I think I would have reacted the same way as your ex husband. It's rather humouristic considering he was guilty of searching for hidden cigarettes and he then got caught by a little girl that is, hum, not of this world. But yeah, I'd be running out of the house pretty fast. It is quite the dilemma when it's *your* house though. Eeeck.
