Manafon, now it is the picture of the live oak and lighthouse that sounds enchanting. I can feel it from here. Lighthouses and hope, and trees and the powerful earth connection. ❀

Learning I could sense the trees with this rumbling openned many doors for me, helping me to explore my various abilities and to allow them to add strength to my life. Funny that I moved to a place with few trees. I bought my house here in Tempe, AZ mainly because it has a 60 foot evergreen tree in the front yard, uncommon here in the Sonoran Desert. I sat on the ground with my back to it, feeling its energy when deciding to by the house. It invited me here.

Thanks again for another riveting, well written story. It is a pleasure to read your work.

Best!

Tweed--Thanks so much for your nice words. You are obviously a sensitive person and that is why you had that experience with the Jacaranda. It is very nice to know others have had similar experiences. Also interesting that we both shared our nature spirit experiences only with our significant others for so long. It's just not something I ever felt I wanted to bring up over dinner with friends. Thanks again! Sorry about causing any tears--even though they are the good type.

Hecate0--I love the subtlety of your tree encounter. That rumble you mention sounds like something very enchanting. The trees sensed your angst and connected with you it seems 😁There was a live oak (it's still there) that stood in front of an abandoned lighthouse when I was growing up on an island off the coast of South Carolina. There was something about that ancient tree that captures my imagination to this day. I actually have a painting of it with the light in the background. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Sushantkar--Thank you for sharing your thoughts and how such things are tied up within the folklore of your culture. I have always felt lucky to have seen this spirit and you have made me feel even more lucky! Thanks much!

Manafon umm I'm actually crying right now because I have experienced something remarkably similar (minus the face), I too was on a balcony and the tree for me was a Jacaranda. I felt the same, beauty and wonder. It's something I've never shared with anybody except my husband. It happened late in the evening same as you. But I don't drink, so that bit's different. You're not crazy, there's something truly magical about trees. Damn I'm all emotional now, but it's nice. Don't need to say it but I will anyway, thanks for sharing and very well written, unlike this comment of mine, ha. 😊

Oh, Manafon, another great story! Thank you! And I needed the reminder of my own tree connection. I was going through a particularly difficult time in summer 1985, in the process of a divorce. No matter how amicable, they are terribly painful life events. I was reading on my porch and could feel this rumble. It happened several days in a row. Our home was in northern Rhode Island in a beautifully wooded area, a monastery down the street, very pastoral. After several days, I finally just had an 'ah ha' realization, "it is the trees". I have been able to feel them since. I agree, I wish everyone could tap into this cool feeling. This rumbling I feel is ancient and beautiful. Thanks for your story. 😊

Hello Manafon! I think whatever you had seen that night could be referred to Forest God (God/Soul of the forest).

I am from India, and its description is present in our primeval, mythologies, legends and folklores also.

You are very lucky to see it.

Thanks for sharing it. It was a wonderful read.

Regards
