Dandk, I'm not sure if the 7 second delay necessarily accelerates the rate of microtubules and conscious moments per second, because intangible particles can defy the speed of light, pretty complicated stuff and it will get confusing if you try and use Darwinian thinking, I understand the angle your coming from, but I think the results in the experiment, suggest the tail is wagging the dog... Main point I'm driving at.

Dandk, I was going wait a while until you had a look at the links, but I'll lay down what some very intelligent physicist think about our universe. Michael tablots, holographic universe was written in 1991... In 2013 I think? Leonard Susskind formulated a brilliant mathematical thesis on a holographic universe which was so profoundly indisputable, Stephen Hawkins had to eat humble pie and admit his theory on black hole was wrong due to Susskinds excellent work, our universe according to Susskind, is made up of pixels and black holes are 2 dimensional, if you fell into a black hole, you would be 2 dimensional and the mathematics support it...Ok, so if our universe is a hologram and the double slit experiment suggest there is no solid matter, then what is projecting our reality and what is receiving the signal?, because with our technology already, we kind off understand how holograms work to some degree... Enter to the stage the brain, is it possible, why the signal is taking 7 seconds is because of the time it needs to travel, be processed and physically responded too, it may also vindicate, that the soul or our conciousness is outside our body and not with in, if consciousness was inside the brain, there would be no delay and probably no paranormal... Does that explain the paranormal?...the body perishes, but the consciousness continues in the field of projection for what ever reason...love,unfinished business, denial etc, can the consciousness still pyshically imprint itself in the field? Plenty of ghost stories here to suggest it can... Anyway food for thought.

Daz, The 7 second pre-conscious decision is really something. If each 'moment' that we can experience occurs every 1/40th of a second, that means that it takes a minimum of 280 microtubule communications before it becomes a conscious thought. I wonder how accurate that 7 seconds is. I'd really rather see that number be 257! Then it could be intimately tied to tunneling (the communication between microtubules) because that number would be the same as kT at room temperature (with a 10^-3 scale factor).
I may be way off on this since I've still got to get to the other videos and finish the review article that I started the other day...I've got lots of questions so far, but I'm getting some answers as I go, so it won't be too bad at the end I think.
Thanks again!

Dandk, yes I do agree it may explain why children can see things adults seem to miss...here's some more stuff to check out... Apparently scientist through experiments involving a mri, can know 7 seconds before their subject does, what conscious choice they are about to make 100 percent of the time, how about that one mate, the rabbit hole gets a little deeper. I do have a theory on it, but I'll leave it for a while until you absorb all of the links here and on your other account.

DandK, I don't think I said the Orch orr links the soul to the theory, I'll just paste my quote again here from the other account.
" In regards to the coin analogy and the collapsing of the wavefunction, what Stuart Hameroff and sir Roger Penrose hypothesised in their book "the Orch Orr"... We have conscious moments, about 40 per second according to the theory... In between each of these moments, is the collapsing of the wave field... With in this collapsing of each moment a product of the brain referred to as microtubules are in a sort of spasm with the quantum depositions of neurons thus nature, presenting us our reality in the macroscopic fragmentation of which we all exist... As a side note, People who have had near death experiences or a car accident, fits etc, often report the slowing down or the freezing of time and I have actually experienced this first hand and I know one of the mods son here at YGS did also. The adrenaline rush, somehow interferes with the microtubulues and the quantum deposition of consciousness causing those 40 spasmodic moments per second of consciousness to slow down or even freeze in some accounts. When playing basketball, Michael Jordon claimed that sometimes things went into slow motion, which makes sense for a freak like him right?
Ok, I'm mostly paraphrasing Stuart Hammeroff here, not directly from the Orch orr theory, but more so from one of his many youtube links... I would say it best if you check them out yourself, Penrose kind of backs away from the spooky action elements... And whilst you do, check out Michael Tablots theory on a Holographic universe... Along with Robert Lanza theory on Biocentrism...
You'll find plenty there to open your mind up to consciousness and it's relationship to our reality...

Daz, with respect to the Orch OR that you mentioned to me in another poster's story, I wanted to ask you a bit more about this if you don't mind. I'm just getting into reading a review paper published in Physics of Life Reviews by Hameroff and Penrose. It's slow going for me because there is a lot to wrap my head around. But I seem to have a problem seeing how the concept of a soul fits into the theory of orchestrated OR. I am also having a problem seeing how the minimum time correlating two states (which looks a lot like Heisenberg's uncertainty principle only in the Einstein energy form to me) depends on an energy referred to as gravitational energy.
I'm just getting into it, so perhaps I should wait and see if things make sense as I learn more and understand more as I read. But I can see their point, and it resonates more with me than materialism, so I think I like the track. Just some things don't make sense yet.

I was just reading a story from 9 years ago, where zzsgranny said "A "poltergeist", most believe, is a manifestation of one's own negative energy, and demon is, well, a demon... An entity in it's own right, and not a form of anyone's energy, but it's own..."
This makes me wonder if I didn't somehow cause the water faucet to turn on because of stress at wondering about the person in the stall and also from stress at work.

Helena123, I think it may be season 3 episode 9. The second investigation in this episode has the faucet turning on and the attic events that sound like what you were describing. Pretty interesting. Thanks for mentioning this!

Hey again - yes I've just had a watch on Youtube and that is not the right episode *but* still interesting how it is the same subject matter and TAPs again could not debunk the facet coming on.
In the episode I saw, you actually heard the tap come on (full blast) while Jason and Grant were in the hallway investigating. Then a bit later after they tried to debunk the tap but couldn't, something ran at Jason as he entered the loft (you could hear the loud, running footsteps on the film) it caught Jason by surprise and he nearly fell down the loft hatch stairs. I have looked online under key words but I can't find it yet 😭 If I come across the right episode I will share the link on here 😊 x

Helena123, thanks for the leads. I did some searching on the Syfy network site and found an episode with a description that might fit what you describe. It is season three, episode ten, called Toys of Terror. I'm going to see if I can watch it.

Hey! The first time I heard about it was when I was watching Ghosthunters and the video footage clearly showed the tap coming on in the bathroom by itself. Since the hosts were plumbers (TAPS) they tried everything to debunk the tap coming on but they could find nothing wrong with it so they decided it was more likely paranormal 😁 I watched it in about 2011, unfortunately I don't know the exact episode otherwise I would give you a link to it but someone else on here may remember the one. If not you might want to look out for the episode on repeat as you may find the footage as interesting as I did to watch! In the same house they also heard very loud footsteps in the attic, I think in memory, it was so loud poor Jason nearly feel through a loft hatch, it was quite scary! X

Thanks Helena123. I'll have to go look for some of those shows or videos. Are the investigators claiming something paranormal or do they try to debunk by looking at the faucet operation?

Red, now that is weird. Starting with the locked stall. Any sign of feet or shadow under the door? My mind is trying to make some rationalization out of this, like maybe the person in the stall was very shy and trying to be as quiet as possible. Maybe the flush was a way to mask any sounds they thought they might make. But then, why would the faucet be on if the door was still locked? Interesting.

Thank you SDS. It was definitely disquieting. I think I was so shocked that I had a hard time focusing at work the rest of the day. I actually found that I never could go in that restroom again without trepidation.

Miracles, interesting experiences with the faucets. I've heard about faucet issues before, but this was my first and only experience. Hearing the faucet run, but seeing the sink was dry like you did would really spook me!

Great story thank you for sharing 😊 I have heard on a few paranormal shows people talking about taps coming on by themselves (there are even Youtube clips of it happening!) and interestingly one of the posters on here are saying it happened to them above (Miracles51031) - quite unsettling how common this type of scenario is reported, take care Helena.

Mack, I am also very conscious of the other sounds in the room (like you, especially my own). I don't think I would have really thought enough about it otherwise, which would have led me to completely miss the water turning on, if it would have still. I have to say based on my thoughts at the time I turned around, I think it was trying to scare me. It was timed so perfectly and came on so fiercely and then shut off so abruptly when I finally got my senses back.
I still have doubt in my mind though, like this could've been a coincidence with a strange faucet occurrence, and did I really see that door closed with dark shadow under it in the stall. But, I also can't rule out something paranormal because the odds are against that much coincidence.

I've been in brand new restrooms where a stall door was locked. I didn't bother knocking because other stalls were available. I wouldn't hear anything but the toilet flush, thought I heard the door open. I would come out of my stall as the sink was running but nobody was there. What really freaked me out was that the door was still locked and people entering didn't see anyone exit when I ask if they saw someone leave.

I had a restroom ghost experience once, at Chuy's. I went to the next to the last stall, the door was partially open but when I looked in, I saw a woman standing in there. I looked away quickly, said I'm sorry and went to the stall next to her. After a few seconds, I noticed I hadn't heard any noise, such as the door opening further, her leaving, water running... I looked under the stall wall, saw nothing. No feet, nothing. There was no one in there but me.
My imagination? I could describe her though!

DandK - I have experienced something similar a couple of different times at two different Walmart stores. One time as I stepped into the restroom, I heard the sink start running. Of course, I automatically assumed someone was washing their hands. Nope. No one in the restroom at all. And the sinks were dry. This Walmart only had 2 sinks in the restroom I was in. (For the record, I was nowhere near the sink area when I heard the water, and was too far from the men's or family restroom to have heard water running in there. Definitely the women's restroom.)
Another time I was just exiting a stall and heard the water in the sink. Since I knew the restroom was empty when I came in, and I heard no one enter any of the others stalls, I figured someone came in just to wash their hands. From where I was exiting the stall, I could see the sinks. Not a soul there. My kids were waiting for me outside the restroom so I asked if anyone had come out before me. No.
I do believe the automatic sinks can become defective overtime, which I believe is what I experienced. But considering you saw something as well makes me think maybe this wasn't a faulty handwash system.
Thanks for sharing with us 😊

HI DandK - thanks for sharing that experience.
Yes, that would have been quite terrifying. I think that had there been someone (flesh and blood) in that stall, you would have absolutely heard them either leave, flush, get toilet paper etc.
Personally, when I have to use a cubicle and share a restroom with others, I am very conscious of any sounds (especially the ones I may be creating 😆)
It's strange, to me, that there are so many reports of spirits "using" toilets, or hanging around in rest rooms. This spirit was either trying to scare you (success, well done...sigh) or it wasn't aware of it's passing and truly believed it needed to use the toilet (which may explain the tap coming on).
Either way, an unsettling experience and very well told.
Regards
