I sense no preachiness. Whenever I make mention of the church I attend/denomination, I try to focus on what is relevant to the situation at hand.

It is something I became very conscious of when I was invited to assist a military chaplain with an online spiritual/religious counseling service and at his insistence we followed military chaplaincy protocol: only preach to the person's faith.

I learned a lot about Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. It has not changed what I believe. (In fact, in 2017, I may take monastic vows.) But it has opened my eyes to what makes us, individually and collectively, human.
