This story will go to the top of my list of favorites. As I read, I felt as if I was there with you and this beautiful woman, Sophie. A tear slid down my cheek, not a tear of sadness but of peace and love and compassion!

Perhaps the reason she chose your maiden name is she was guided to, her time to cross over was near, she would need someone of your wonderful and caring nature and of your open mind beside her to talk with her and listen to her over her last few hours.

How blessed you were to be with her, and although you did not see them I believe her guardian angel, or guide or whatever 'title' you wish to give it was there waiting until the time was right to assist 'Sophie' to the other side.

You have many special talents and many special gifts. I appreciatte and respect that you share a glimpse of these with us in your stories.

(as I read your story the name Storm or Storm Cloud kept reverberating in my head. Does that name mean any thing to you or am I loosing my mind? What about the name Deb or Debbie or Deborah? )

God Bless!

Hi WB. God works in mysterious ways. God knows what each of us needs and when to give it to us. Consider yourself blessed to be a part of one of His miracles, to be a part of "The ticket home" of one of his children and the verification you needed on your own life`s journey. Bless you my friend.

Hello Buffy! Wow! What an amazing experience and a little scary for you at the same time. You were definitely chosen for a purpose. This woman needed you that night. Something told her to call upon you. You also needed some kind of acception for what was going on in your own life. It made you realize that you, for sure, were not going crazy. The spirit that was with her when you would leave the room must have been her guide or one of them, maybe dressed like you as to not frighten her. The guide may have kept walking out right before you were to be coming back to this lady. The person she was seeing at the wreath was probably either a family member or maybe her Husband who had passed before her, if she ever had a husband. How lucky she was to have you and all of those gentle spirits their to comfort and guide her to where she needed to be. What a way to go. I hope that's how it ends for me. Thanks for sharing another interesting story. By the way, the other night when we were in the chatroom, what ended up happening with all of the electronic stuff going off? Very curious!~Shelby ❤ 😊

I agree WB (Ive shortened your name, hope you don't mind).
Some things happen in a way that has to be more than coincidence, the way the lady chose you, its like she knew you would look after her and on the other hand needed clarification of things that may have crossed your mind in the past. You felt what was in the room with you that night.
This may seem odd but there is a similar sort of scenario with my boyfriend, we are really close and we have discovered over time just how closely linked we really are (not related) but through friends, places etc but we've never known each other until a year ago.
I used to see him around town and I really fancied but never spoke to him, then I moved in with my Dad, we met and got together when I moved into the downstairs flat, turns out, his friends are my Dads next door neighbours, his grandmother remembers my family from as far back as the early 1930s, another of his close friends has just moved into the bungalow of one of my grandmothers close friends from years ago these are just a few strange things, he says that he thinks we have known each other in past lives, he dreams about it. Its odd but fascinating.

Hi Kat,
Thanks for your comment.
I can not help but think that the reason I was chosen for this job was to see that there are strong people out there who, though others may not believe in what they see, are visited by things that some would say are hallucinations. I think the most important thing about this experience was not that she pulled a name out of her mind, but that at a time when I needed verification that I was not going crazy despite what was going on in my home, she was that one to teach me that. The Great Spirit sends us people and "things" as lessons, and if I would not have been in the right place in my life path, this would not have happened.
I am familiar with Hospice. Most of the nurses there in our city that I have talked to will tell you stories of visiting Angels. So many people, collectively, can not be mistaken. Or so I would think.
I find myself wondering about her description though. I love country sun sets. All that open space and the mystery of the animal life out there as opposed to in the city. Perhaps she knew of my longing for a house with plenty of open space for the children, or it was simply a picture from her past. But the "feel" of that description was so peaceful, I would think it would be hard to fear death if that is what awaits you.

Hi White Buffalo.
Wow, what a lovely way to go. She said "He looks lovely" like she knew who came for her. And you made her happy and comfortable in her last few hours.
This happened with my boyfriend stepfather, he was in a hospice and they had been told he would not last past 6 that evening, my boyfriend and his mother were in the room, he was sat next to the doorway, watching his father drift in and out of consciousness, talking when he was awake. At about half 5 he felt a cold breeze enter the room but no one came in, he looked up as it passed him and he knew what was about to happen so he told his mother he was going for a walk, when he got back half an hour later he met his mother outside the hospice, his father had passed minutes earlier, when he went in the room his fathers eyes were open and he had a look of surprise on his face, like he had seen someone who he hadnt seen in a long time.
