Rhodes68, thanks for sharing yet another engrossing experience with us from the Old World. I hope you will keep us current as events transpire and someday elaborate on your own experiences (and maybe those that your husband has experienced there but not yet accepted) at Anima. Thanks!

Hi Irene and thanks for the support. I'm just saddened by the aggression some young people exhibit.
Thank you again for your kind words.
Take care 😊

Thank you Kim. I also think he's seen or felt much more that he's letting on but there's a difference between him and the rest of the people who have worked at Anima. To be more specific, John worked endless hours until his hands bled to help fix the place up. He treated that place with the same love that my husband and I did. Even now, we're close friends and I have learnt to respect him for the dedication he showed even if it lasted for a shorter time than I would have hoped.
Two months ago he was with us at the garden and, after inspecting every little corner of that place, he came up to me to say that certain things have worn down and that he would like to fix them up again. Who would bother about a place that's on sale? I think the things he must have seen, and I have a good suspicion that he had, were little ones like what I experienced and if he doesn't speak, it's partly because he doesn't want to ruin the bar's reputation or because when he didn't deny the little accidents with El, he was mocked by his peers. Now, we all know how powerful peer pressure can be.
As for El and the others, it's a different story. They're studying at the local uni in the department of Business and Tourism. My husband offered them some work to help them acquaint themselves with "customer service" and, since the place attracts business men and various hotel owners, what would be better for a start. They liked being there but they weren't attouched to the place like we were. For them it was a meeting place to mingle with the right people. I don't blame them.

It's part of kip's mo, Tammy, to throw out nasty comments. You're right, it takes too much effort to actually say something constructive. I love your stories... Keep them coming.

Tammy,
Once again a very frightening and beautifu account as to the goings on at Anima!
It sounds to me as if John may have experienced far more than he let on concsidering he quit not to long after your talk.
Keep the stories coming!
God Bless!

Thank you Kiptere for taking the time to read a long story but it strikes me to realise you would bother to go into all this trouble just to write a very rude comment.
Being rude and having an attidute for no obvious reason is the easiest thing in the world. It takes no intelligence or effort to do that. But sometimes things are not as simple as they appear. Yes, it would have been easier and cheaper to have fired her. But then again I didn't do that, did I?

Just a foot note:Last night, I called El and asked her to clarify something for me concerning the accounts. I found out something else which to me comes to add credibility to what the cleaning lady had claimed. The bar has 4 doors but only two were used by our guests. When the cleaning lady would finish cleaning up, she would then exit from the side door which was, her responsibility to lock before leaving. She was also responsible for locking the front door as well. The rest were to leave through one of the back doors. While leaving, a part of the bar would be dark and many times El would feel watched. Then, when outside and ready to leave she was drawn to look at the front door where on many occasions she could see a figure standing behind it.(half the door, from the waist upwards, is made of glass)
