Hello Tonith. Thank you for your comment and I'm glad you liked the story. I try not to show fear too often but there are times it does get the best of me, especially if I can't "recognize" who's there. The ancient one may be residual but we "feel" that he's intelligent-it's just that he is extremely old and cares very little about what he left behind. He is like an old eccentric friend-you don't know why you like him, you just do. Yep, they pretty much come and go at will. Take Care.

Glad to see you take this all with a grain of salt. Apparently the old lady is an intelligent haunt while the ancient one may be more residual. I have cats too and always think it's them making noise to find nothing out of place. Of course there are other times when I find out it was their antics. As long as you are feeling no fear I guess you don't have anything to worry about. They will just come and go as they please. Great story and very believable.
