AMP. Perhaps you are right. It is definitely not as strong as you or WB. It is there none -the- less. Calling, dragging, nagging though in a good way.
WB & you are both younger in actual years than I am, but then I have never had a problem asking for help no matter the age.
Thank you for putting in the time to answer questions, you too WB! OSA

It may not be the blood of this life calling you to these areas. I am extremely fascinated by Egypt and Rome but do not have any blood ties to either one at least in this life.
I have had some very successfull past life experiences tho.
Sometimes a religion calls to a person because the one they are following now does not truly incorperate what they believe.
As for telling others a power animal, mine each have names that I do not tell others only their species and as I said before I don't think griphon is even truly what he appears to be but am not sure what he is exactly.

By ushers are you referring to those who help the spirit of a deceased pass on at the time of death or are you referring to something else.
Perhaps it is a different term for those I refer to as Healers, the healers in our family follow many paths of healing from physical healing such as doctors to spiritual healing and mental healing.

Thanks WB, I get being vague, although those with some sort of power would be able to figure the power animals out.

Sorry WB. Didn't know you were on the site right now.
Okay I am going to go out on a limb right now. Most shamans, of what I have read, have faced death, literally. Either they have faced death through most often sickness, or those close to them have perished. Am I right in this assumption?

Also sorry WB & AMP, but what of those that are called to shamaninism by other means?I'm talking about every time you go to the bookstore or library? What if everything resonates within you? Perhaps that is why I was called to this site.
I have Irish blood. My dad always talked about Great-Grand-pappy Clingensmith marrying an Indian squaw, (I thought it was made up). Why do I feel such an affinity to all things Native-American, as do my sister & brother? That leaves one out of four that does not.
Then there is the Scandinavian blood. The Celts fascinate me, perhaps I am drawn to them the most. I have always been drawn to Ireland & England. South America is another sticking point. My husband is from Peru. Macchu Picchu was an amazing place& I had always wanted to visit, I highly recommend it to all. 2007 we did. Now I feel the pull towards Central America. I have stories surrounding these areas but aren't able to quantify them in terms that everyone could accept. The two of you seem highly enlightened in these areas. Love to read your posts. Osa

To be a bit more "on task" Osa.
There are those that state calling the BREED of the animal does not harm. There are divisions of all kingdoms in the animal way, and of those divisions, it is "protective" to... Be vague.
In other words: When asked for the Animal totem, if you DO NOT know the person (as YOU can GIVE the POWER of your animal totem TO the person who is asking) it would be proper to say that your totem is a "cat", as opposed to stating your animal totem is a "black panther". You never want to give "too much" away, as it COULD damage a WEAK spirit.
Thank you. Did I clear that up enough? 😉

No, Osa, that is NOT correct, in MY belief system. In MY belief, it "calls" in OTHER strengths, as well.

Okay, sorry to pop in on your conversation, but I have always heard that saying (or telling people your animal totem) was equivalent to giving away your power. Am I mis-informed?
I had always suspected my own, but one night, She arose behind me & there was no denying who or what she was. (This is when I was meditating in my early days.)

It has been quite an interesting conversation I agree. As for my definition of a Spiritual Warrior it is rather hard to explain. I don't necesarily choose who deserves retribution I just can sense when a spirit is being punished for something, there's a spiritual fingerprint/signature that is placed in the aura of these spirits and I leave those spirits alone.
As for those I have "encouraged" to cross over whether they wanted to or not I only respond to them in defense of myself or others. I try very hard only to help those who want help but once in awhile there are those who are here only to torment the living.
I have acted as a go between for the living and the dead and worked out compromises to make both partys happy but if a ghost is unwilling to compromise and is hurting people then I send them on their way to the other side.
I agree it is a very fun discription of The Blackfoot Nation.
I am going to publish some experiences I have had with some Native American ghosts you might find interesting. The one is were I first learned about a Spirit Warrior. From the time I could walk I have been taught the path of the Warrior by my BlackFoot relatives it wasn't until after a certain event I will post on here that I became a Spirit Warrior.
My Irish side I had grown up being taught that great responsibility comes with great power and that by having the "gifts" I do it was my responsiblity and Duty to protect those who don't have the gift as well as those who have the gift to a lesser extent. I was taught that the most powerfull empaths and seers in our family become one of two things Healers or Warriors.
I chose the path of the warrior when I was very young I will also post the experience that caused me to chose my path.

I have something REALLY interesting to share with you. Only ONE other person has ever been let in on this "prophetic dream" that I had, and I am not sure he really remembers it in detail.
We have had a very informative conversation, and for that I thank you. It has been enlightening and given me MUCH to research, and think about. It has made me curious about you and your upbringing. SOME of the things that you state are of the ancient teachings, and very much left to the past, as they have the "thin spirits" and should NOT be "overused" as to wear the atmosphere thin.
I will not dwell on these things, as I do not wish to damage the balance of MY existence.
I have honestly NEVER met someone who was RAISED in the Ways of a Spiritual Warrior. That is not something that WE train our young to do. It comes natural, there is no teacher, only the conscious to lead the way.
On the IRISH part of your lineage, I can see that happening, as there is a different definition of a Spiritual Warrior.
If the definition of a Spiritual Warrior is as YOU wrote... I do not want a part of that. The reason being that it is NOT my call on who is worthy of redemption. Only ONE can say who needs to be punished and who may Carry On. I can not pretend to be more important than another, as we are ALL equal in the eyes of The Creator.
I think, the best way to "explain" it out is to give you the description of a Blackfoot as per http://www.answers.com/topic/blackfoot. I think it almost humorous.
"A Native American confederacy located on the northern Great Plains, composed of the Blackfoot, Blood, and Piegan tribes. Traditional Blackfoot life was based on nomadic buffalo hunting... The northernmost tribe of the Blackfoot confederacy, inhabiting central Alberta. A member of this tribe."
My dream?
The Proverbial Buffalo Hunt.
Thank you.

My brother and I recieved completely different sets of teaching. His was more like you describe the gentle path of the solitary teacher. We also are Blood Siblings through ceremony not actual blood relation, we cam from different parents. I don't remember if I actually pointed this out before or not.
He is more of a healer than a warrior where I am more of a warrior than a healer. He is full blooded South Peigan where I am only half. The other half of me is Irish. He is usually the healer to my warrior, I do the fighting he does the healing afterward, or when necassary he loans me the extra strength needed to finish a battle.
From my grandfather on my Indian side I was taught the way of the warrior, from my grandmother and greatgrandmother on my moms side I was taught the way of the witch. (thats not the same as the path of most witches found today). It is not Wicca or any other established Pagan religion it is our own FamTrad (family tradition) the gods and goddesses worshipped are the Norse gods.
It is very hard to explain but between the 3 of them I have been taught the way of the Spiritual Warrior. If I come across a spirit who is wandering the earth as a form of punishment I do not send them over to the otherside. The spirits I help or send to the otherside are those who want to go but can't for whatever reason or those who stayed just to cause harm.
I hav only had 3 experiences like the one in the abandoned house the rest have been more normal, either those who have unfinished buisness or don't know they are dead or just moments of history repeating themselves or moments I step back in time however you look at it.
As soon as the submissions page is back up I will be posting some more am still undecided about the other experiences similar to the abandoned house one but maybe will post just so the truth is out there for those who want to believe and learn.
I will also try to be more detailed with legitamite questioners.
I have a couple of animal guides, A Panther I have had following since I was a few months old, a Raven I discovered when I was 16 and a griphon that showed up just after the incident in the abandoned house, I am not 100% sure the griphon is exactly what he claims but that's the form he appears to me in so... (shrug)
I was told by my grandfather that Panther appeared beside my cradle during my first pow-wow in Montanna, my mom and dad had left me in his care while they went looking for friends. As he sat there he saw from the corner of his eye Panther walk out of the trees stick Her head into the cradle and sniff me then curl up around the base of the cradle and go to sleep. Panther has been with me ever since.
Raven dropped in on me, literaly, when I was 16, on the way home from school Raven followed me from branch to branch chattering at me then just as I went into my yard he dropped down on my shoulder nipped my ear gently then flew off. I see him every so often but hear him more often.
Griphon appeared a couple days after the abandoned house incident smile and said "you will do nicely, youll make a fine warrior and companion." then he faded from sight over time I have gotten suspicious that hes not exactly what he says he is but only using the form of a griphon but I can't prove it yet and hope someday to know the truth but until then he is a great help.

I, Am a Warrior.
Though I have no right to be.
A warrior runs, "singing" the war cry, hell bent for the enemy. They "take care" of the issue, and leave no dwelling upright, in the event there MAY be a surviving warrior of the opposing tribe.
When ALL is said and done, the Blessing Fires burn, while the men dance and the women sing. Great feasts are prepared in victory for what has been won. And MANY chants are said to protect the innocent souls of those lost. Chants are said to separate "bad" souls from the chance of "soiling" (Yep, "soul" - "soiling") and possibly sneaking into The Other Side. MOST would that the souls wander forever with their severed limbs in search of the "star" of perfect body (Stand flat footed. Put your arms out as far as comfortable. LOOK at yourself via a mirror, window, shadow. You ARE a STAR)
It is the Way of the Peoples, No matter the lineage, to be quiet.
It is the way of the WORLD to war without reason.
It is the Way of the Peoples, no matter the tribe, to LISTEN to that which will be whispered to us on the Wind.
It is the way of the WORLD to cut the trees to get rid of the shadows of the wood.
It is the Way of the Peoples to Speak as if in your last words, Love as if with your last bit of heart and Go, as with The Spirits.
It is the way of the WORLD to walk heavy and carry a bludgeoning club.
This last comment of yours spoke to me probably MUCH more than any of the others that you and I have shared in this running conversation. I DO believe the reason being is that to have a BROTHER who is a SHAMAN, one MUST have been privy to The Teachings.
Were you NOT? I am asking in that it would FEEL as if MOST of the initial lessons are NOT present. Certain aspects of the Way of Life SHOULD have been received within your heart just because of the closeness of the brother.
PERHAPS that is the lesson to be learned here. The gentility. The serenity.
I am sorry, I made MYSELF unclear. I thought there MAY have been the chance that I claimed that my son WAS presently a Shaman. I thought perhaps, as THIS commenting is occurring on a separate story than whence it began, that in a typo (I have been VERY bad with those lately) gave him his gift.
The part of Shaman-ism that sets it apart from Medicine Men, Witch doctors, and other forms of Religious leaders is the point that they ARE wrapped one in the same.
Shaman-ism is virtually nonexistent in America. WE have been searching for a bone-fide mentor FOR my son. Yes, we HAVE our Medicine Man, and HE has been wonderful.
BUT...
That does NOT teach my son the Ways of The Shaman. Http://www.shamanlinks.net/ outlines QUITE a bit about the points of Shaman-ism. It also CLEARLY points out that it IS rather rare for someone to be chosen.
The MOST disturbing thing for ME, in MY sons Christening is that he will leave us. He will strike out on his own, and in the prayers of the Elders he will strive to be all that The Great Spirit SEES for him to be. A Shaman operates outside established religions, and, traditionally, they operate alone. Some HAVE been known to have apprenticed.
Our son would be as a traveling Minister. As THAT is what he TRULY would be.
Thank you again.

I totally agree. I am no longer paying any attention to the haters but will answer legitimate questions only.
I am done trying to please everyone. I KNOW iam tellingthe truth and those who don't believe it will find out sooner or later.
No matter how hard you beat someone with a fish if all they want to see is a rabbit then a rabbit they will see.
I am sorry for not making the distiction between your son only being Christened a Shaman. I get a sense of power about him when you talk of him as if had already become a Shaman. But until it happens I will remember to make the distinction.
"Patience. Self control (mine slips often) and TRYING to be understanding are the keys."
These are a few things that do not come easily to me. I am a very direct hands on type of person. I am not one to walk small and carry a big stick, I tend to walk very large and carry a large stick. Lol if that even makes sense or not I don't know.
Anyway I am one of those who takes life headon with great passion and energy. The past couple days has been real hard on me because life circumstances have frayed my empathic shields a lot and I was barely hanging on by a thread. I am back to my usual self now thanks to some deep dreamwalking and meditation.
I hope that now that I have gottenmyself balanced out my attitude is gone from my words at least to those who are undeserving of it.

Wow! This has been a very enlightening read to say the least. When it comes to someone (anyone) mistreating an animal, my blood runs cold. Shame on them. I believe they will get back what they gave 10 fold and let me tell you, I've seen it happen. But the only person asking why me? Is the one who inflicted the pain. They can't see how their actions come back to bite them in the ***. Some people get a thrill out of that and it really ticks me off. So my heart goes out to you and your beloved cat.
If something happens by no real fault of the person involed, that's one thing. Some core makeup of violence harbors deep within the person or child to carry out such a mean and cruel act. What do you think of kids who placed a kitten in a vice and squeezes it to death just to see what happens...well, this is fact and proof of the wickedness some people possess. And childhood is no excuse.
Again, I'm sorry for your loss and pray you will be able to see that boy for what he is and what will come to him.
PS--an eye for eye may backfire... They get what's coming to them from a higher being.

You know, AmberMoonPriestess?
Forget them.
Forget those that are petty enough to waste their time sending off the belittling comments and the "hate mail". Believe THIS, you are NOT the only one that some of the casual members of this site have hand chosen to be irrational about. It makes no sense, they have no foundations for their accusations, and they are only acting in an immature fashion.
When I first got on this site I had some questionable experiences that seemed unbelievable to some. Heck, they seemed like down right DREAMS (well, not really DREAMS, but false representations of life, just the same) at times. I was not here (and AM STILL not here...) for gaining experience in being a writer. The only ones that I REALLY write stories for are my children, anyway.
The point is, you WILL HAVE those that are pious and "above us all" when it comes to experiences. Who really gives a rip?
<shrug>
Really. WHO gives a rip?
This is not a contest. It is not a competition to see who has the most amazing and astounding situations and experiences. This is NOT a forum to work on the newest screen plays or be the sounding board for an up and coming suspense thriller.
Personally, give me a story about a whispering ghost instead of all the hype that SOME would post, and I tend to believe it more. Face it, in the adult world, the Spiritual war (and you ARE right, there IS a Spiritual war going on. I stated that MONTHS ago) is not so much in the swirling winds, majical sprites and dancing visions of the night.
It's NOT.
It is in UNDERSTANDING, or in the STRIVING to understand, that these stories hold their import. It is in preparing ourselves for that time in which ALL will be as it was CREATED to be. It is in CORRECTING our mistakes, and trying to make things right in this world, because, Hon, there is COMING a time in which it will all be too late for that.
To ME...
<sigh>
To me, THAT is the lesson of The Spirits.
To ME, that is the purpose of their showing to CERTAIN people, and not others. It is NOT in their INABILITY to see ghosts, it is that the MESSAGE is not MEANT for THEM.
OR, they simply are not ready to obtain that information. For WHATEVER reason.
And you are absolutely right. There ARE some on here that are NOT here to learn. Some DO enjoy a good read. SOME post some very asinine comments, but THAT IS LIFE. Not everyone will believe you, ALL THE TIME.
There is an older saying (I REFUSE to say it is OLD 😊) that is escaping me in its actuality, (MUST be because I am getting old) but the gist of it is, You can please SOME of the people all of the time... Sometimes you can please a few of... The... Uh, yada, yada, yada.
You are NEVER going to make EVERYONE believe you.
Face it. You are not.
If everything you have written happened EXACTLY as you have written it, in each and every one of these stories of yours... You are NOT going to be able to DO it.
Why worry about it?
WHO really CARES?
The IMPORTANT thing is for YOU to be TRUE to YOU. Forget everyone else. If YOU are being absolutely truthful... Who CARES what others think? YOU know the TRUTH.
You KNOW the truth.
My son is NOT a Shaman. He was CHRISTENED as such. There is a HUGE difference. He is not yet of age, he has not yet had his vision quest and he has not yet received his growth totem.
Pleases, do NOT let me misrepresent him.
There IS a way to rid this world of all that negativity.
But it does NOT have to be by swinging a really big club at everyone who asks questions. It is in gentility. You DO NOT have to have the shrieking ghosts, the petrifying sights and the media induced visions that seem to be surrounding a LOT of stories here lately.
Patience. Self control (mine slips often 😉) and TRYING to be understanding are the keys.
You will see. The truth will sneak through the cracks, and there WILL BE no hiding from it.
Praise Be.
Honor to All
Thank you.

Maybe you are right and people question more here because they want to learn more I am not so much frustrated with the comments on this story as I am on others. In particular the abandoned house one, and the grandmagreat saves my life.
In many posts on the abandoned house one I am called a liar or told thestory has to be a fake because things like that just don't happen.
I am trying to give as much detail about each story as I can but some of them happened many years ago and I don't remember every last little thing.
I am NOT trying to come across as hostile to questions but I am having a hard time answering legitimate questions (like yours) in a civil manner especially after some of the private emails I have been getting.
I have posted offers of help to others on this site with my email addy in and have helped a few of them but unfortunately others have taken advantage of it to send me hate mail, and yes that's the only way to describe it.
I came to this site because I was told it was more serious than many others but I don't know so far my experience has not been good. Maybe as you said many of you question because you want to learn but many more don't do their research and just automatically deny the truth of what I say because they or someone they know hasnt experienced the same thing.
With your son as a Shaman you know there is MUCH more to the spiritual world and spirits than moaning and groaning and playing with lights. There are some very powerfull things out there both good and evil and not everyone can or will see them and even less will stand their ground when facing something truly powerfull. Most people run the minute things get the least bit scary especially if things get physical with just the smallest touch.
Maybe it is arrogance maybe I am insane maybe its just stupidity or heartlessnes I don't know, but maybe it is bravery and a sense of duty to rid the world of evil that others can't fight the same way I can. Duty calls many to be soldiers and to fight for their country, perhaps I have been called as a soldier in a different type of war.
I don't know why I am compelled to go to places where I find things such as I faced in the house but that was not the last one I have found and faced. I faced a similar spirit in Huntsville park altho not as dramatically and I faced another similar spirit out at Dead Horse Drop.
I was going to post both stories once the submissions page is back up but am now unsure about it.

I am so sorry you lost your beloved pet is such a harsh way. Our pets become parts of our family. Violence for violence is not the answer though. I am sure you have learned that after this whole incident.
You have my sympathy for your loss,

My mistake, I apologize.
If you take a look at the way in which the return comments are made, there is a different FEEL to how the answers were given.
I am not just talking about my own answers, I am talking in general, and it would appear, just by reading others return comments, that others sense it as well.
Forgive me, I must have been mistaken.
I personally never called you a liar, neither am I putting into question every word you are writing. Who am I to say whether every word typed is gospel truth or not?
I am NOT judge, nor jury.
Perhaps this site questions more than others as WE are trying to research, look into the phenomenon, and get answers. We are not here merely to entertain one another with campfire stories. Some of us DO take this a mite more seriously than some do on OTHER sites.
In fact, I am ON several other sites. Yet THIS is the only site that I have posted stories to as I welcome the questions, and welcome the opportunity to research and see if there really ARE answers out there.
We ALL feel and sense different things in the words we read, perhaps that is why it may seem as if the story is being dissected at times. Take a look at a couple of the comment sections in my own stories. Questions about just about each and every detail.
If I do not ask the question, I am robbing MYSELF of the opportunity to learn something, and I am preventing myself from knowing all I am ABLE to.
In that you do not seem to like the challenge of making every detail crystal clear, ("I am just getting extremely tired of every word I put up here being called into question.") I shall refrain from asking you any more questions. <Shrug>
Comfort zone.
Thank you.

We waited until she was 3 because we wanted her to be a mommy at least twice. In my experience it helps calm some animals down.
I do not remember all the details on the explanation exactly its been awhile but I will try, it had something to do with the way the lung punctured and folded around itself when it deflated, it covered the hole and allowed her to go on as if she was ok.
I had noticed a week or two before that she had been limping and weazing but she got better so I didn't think anything more of it.
When she was put under for the operation her one lung couldn't handle it and she died.

Yes I meant that literally. I am glad to have had her for the time I did and for the time she decides to stay with me. She taught me a lot about caring and helped me through a bad period in my life when my parents got a divorce.

I am not understanding the tone you are reffering too, I answered your question as completely as I could. If any negativity came across I am sorry but I am just getting extremely tired of every word I put up here being called into question. I didn't have this kind of negativity on any other site I have been to and posted my experiences on.
Makes me want to leave here and go back where peoples minds are truly open.

Alright, I find I have to say something about this story...
I'm glad Brat-Brat comes back to visit, being a Cat Person myself we have one that has passed who comes back and checks on us as well... She also visits her sister who is 14. 5 years old. (another story)
I do have to ask a couple of questions though...
1) Why did you wait until Brat-Brat was 3 to go and have her fixed? The older a cat is the more risky that operation is and this is possibly why a wavier woud be asked for.
2) If her rib (s) were broken/lung punctured why wasn't she showing any symtoms of this?
I can understand the Vet investigateing why the cat passed away, but I still think the Vet would never, never had attempted to nuter Brat-Brat with the symtoms she should have showed if she had a punctured lung and broken rib (s)
I feel for your loss, I'm glad you have two more cats. But for me, well some things just don't add up.
Respectfully,
Rook

Well.
By the tone of your answer to me, I guess I was not supposed to ask any questions about that.
Let me quote MYSELF please, I wrote "I do not know a THING about vet's in Utah, so please forgive me."

Brat Brat was lucky to have had you in her short life, to have felt loved and cared for and I wish she is now in Peace.
Smack him again if you ever happen to see him!
Thank you

I have wondered the same thing. I have a thought that with animals, especially cats who arent completely of this world anyway otherwise how could they vanish when you are looking right at them, find it easier to travel back and forth across the barrier.

Why is it that we are contacted so easily and so assuredly by our beloved animal friends? Just thinking out loud. My old cat stills comes around once in a blue moon. The last time was after waking up from a horrific nightmare. By the way, it had been 15 years since she crossed.

I am beginning to think shes come back in more ways than one now but that's another story and it may just be a coincidence, or family traits coming through

"WHY would the doctor ASSUME you would sue?"
There had been several lawsuits over animals that died when the owners felt they should not have.
"Did you NOT have to sign a "release form" in the event of anything unprecedented happening?"
No
"Is there, or rather WAS there a time in which many vets were putting innocent cats and dogs to sleep, for their OWN reasons?"
It was wrongfull death suits by owners who thought the vets had done something wrong and caused their pets to day, like the malpractice suits on human doctors
"Where was this cousin that assisted you with the neighbor boy?"
He was in the front room with me when my mother told me what happened. He saw the look on my face and knew something was up so followed me outside.
Touching story, it really is touching when our loved ones come back to visit.

Being a cat lover, I can't blame you for breaking your skateboard over your neighbor's head--and I hope it was grip side down! Anyone who'd harm an animal that way deserves every consequence that arises from the action.
Okay, opinion stated.
I found it interesting that you could feel your cat jump on your bed--for years I experienced the same phenomenon, and always when my resident cat (I've not been without a cat in attendance for more than a month or so since 1973) was not in my room.
Poor little Brat-brat--hope she's in a place of all the fish and catnip her little kitty heart could desire!

I do not know a THING about vet's in Utah, so please forgive me.
WHY would the doctor ASSUME you would sue? Did you NOT have to sign (or your parents) a "release form" in the event of anything unprecedented happening? I guess I just do not understand WHY the doctor would go through with the "extra expense" of an animal autopsy ON HIS OWN (as I am SURE no adult would pay for a procedure that they did not order).
Is there, or rather WAS there a time in which many vets were putting innocent cats and dogs to sleep, for their OWN reasons?
Where was this cousin that assisted you with the neighbor boy?

It must be so comforting to have your pet come back and stay with you. I've lost so many pets that I've lost count. (Used to live on the highway and people do NOT slow down.) None of mine ever came back that I know of.
Too bad your cousin stopped you, if you're like me, you can't stand cruelty to animals and I would have strung him up by his feet and beat him like a pinata.

jessica
It is very comforting to have her with me even today. I am begining to wonder tho if she has come back in a physical form. The reason I wonder htis is she vanished about 9 months ago and then I got a kitten bout a month after she vanished.
The kitten is black and white with golden eyes but he does the exact same things Brat used to do right down to climbing into bed the same way and sucking on my ear.
I also have only felt Brat when the kitten, who I named Ghost, is nearby and I haven't felt brat climb in bed with me, I haven't seen her at all since Ghost came.
Maybe I can make this my next story

If I had the chance I would have done more but my cousin stopped me. Brat-Brat wouldn't go near my younger sisters lol she was my kitty and didn't like anyone else, not even my mom and mom kept the food dish full lol, but Brat was mine and only mine, she even tried to follow me to school a few times.

wow... I wasn't sure if this was a ghost story until the end came! Seems calming to know that a loved animal is still there!
I went to a psychic once and he had told me that a little white dog, very playful always ran around my feet in my oracle!
It was strange because I had a little chiwawa (spell check) LOL... I named him chip and he was about 6 weeks old when I got him... He was white... With little brown spots here and there on his body! My mom got for me for my twelth birthday... But sadly not even a year after having him, he got hit and killed by a car... He escaped through the fence in the backyard... And he died!
And about a year went on... And when I went to the psychic... He had told me that chip was always with me! I was the only owner he knew... And I guess he loved me! Because now I am 19... And still when I go to a psychic no matter who the psychic is... They still tell me that chip is with me!

devious
I only had time to smack him once with my skateboard before my cousin grabbed me. My cousin had seen me grab the board and run out of the house so he followed me to see what was up.
It was a rough time but I am glad she is with me and I feel her with me still.

If that had been my kitty I wouldn't have stopped with the skateboard... My cat's a brat too, but I feel sorry for him cause he has to put up with my little sister. If he suvives her childhood it will be a miracle.

😭 That's really sad! I would've tanned that boy's hide for hurting my kitty! I'm so sorry that it happened to her, and to you. At least you know that she's watching over you now, and that she's no longer in pain.
Blessings,

Your neighbour needed more that his skateboard broken over his head. Oh you poor little cat. I don't know what I would do without my little kitty. It must be really magucal when Brat-Brat comes to snuggle up to you at night to let you know she is still around for you. I was touched by your story.

And Yes, you ARE correct. MOST people who have been "called into Shaman-ism" have been brought on the wings of death. I am NOT going to say ALL of them, as there ARE those that misdiagnosis their "calling", and it was ONLY a "tugging".
There have been MANY an "outsider" that likens Shaman-ism to Martyrdom, and that is NOT, at all, too very accurate. It is IMPOSSIBLE to BE a Shaman... If you ARE a martyr. (You would be DEAD. HOW could you LIVE the LIFE of a Shaman?) The idea surrounding the "near death" thought is that you MUST be WILLING (it IS near death. NOT death) to give up ALL, in order to RECEIVE all. Willing.
When you hear the word "shaman-ism," most people picture feather head-dresses, buffalo hides, medicine wheels and dream-catchers. Those are all images associated with Native American cultures. But contrary to popular opinion, a "shaman" is not an Indian medicine man, and "shaman-ism" is not a Native American religion. In fact, many Native Americans find the terms "shaman" and "shaman-ism" offensive.
The word "shaman" actually originates among the natives of Siberia, where it describes a specialized type of Holy Person. The Shamans of Siberia interact with deities and spirits not only with prayer, ritual and offerings, but through direct contact with the spirits themselves. With the aid of rhythmic drumming and chanting, the shaman enters a very deep or "ecstatic" trance (In discussions of shaman-ism, the word "ecstasy" is used in it's original sense, from the Greek roots "ex" and "histanai" meaning "out of place" or "out of the physical". In other words, an out-of-body mystical state). This trance frees the shaman's consciousness from the body, allowing it to "fly" into the realms the spirits inhabit, and to experience these "Other worlds" with all the senses of the ordinary physical realm.
There are MANY people who have been called to the MEDICINE ways who had no "footing" in Shaman-ism. For instance, there is a very strong BOND with anything "Ancient". Now, let's face it, ancient does not MEAN Indian. And when we are speaking of Shamans, we are not necessarily talking about the Good Medicines.
Shaman-ism is not the same thing as Native American Spirituality. It is HIGHLY likely that someone can be bound to the theories of the Spirituality. After all, it is Purity in its simplest form, so I DO NOT find it that hard to believe that you have a pull toward the customs as well as the peoples.
According to Lothar Tuppan of North American Tribal Societies (Hi *waving* Thanks for letting me post this!), "One of the most common misunderstandings is the belief that the term 'shaman' is indigenous to Native American culture, usually assumed to be North American. This leads to confusing 'shamanism' with the various religious practices of the North American Indian tribes. Some indigenous Americans did incorporate shaman-ismshaman ism as defined above, but many did not soul journey. Subsequently their healing methodologies were very different than those utilized by a shaman.
Even within North American tribal societies some shamans were also medicine men and women but, again, being a medicine person doesn't mean that you are also a shaman."
Jack D. Forbes says (Powhatan-Delaware, Professor, Native American Studies, UC Davis) "At least until recently, the word 'shaman' was one of those terms which would lead most indigenous people to figuratively 'reach for their shields' and assume a defensive posture. 'Shaman' has been pretty much of a dividing line word: those who use it are non-Native and/or anthropological, or are ignorant of Native Americans' feelings. Indigenous people refer to their own holy people and curers by other terms such as doctor, medicine person, spiritual leader, elder, herbalist or diagnostician, recognizing a wide variety of callings and skills. Of course, before 'shaman' became popular in the anthropological literature, indigenous healers and religious persons were often referred to as 'witch doctors,' 'sorcerers' or other derogatory terms, words still used reportedly in right-wing Christian missionary propaganda. But 'shaman' is not an innocent term either, because it rises out of a clear misunderstanding of, and denigration of, non-European cultures."
You are ALSO right. Those who already posses SOME power would be able to figure out the "life power" of ANY animal. THAT is precisely why we keep it vague. The life power of a cat is much more generalized than say, that of a spotted leopard. In that a person would NAME the spotted leopard as their GUIDE, you have PIN POINTED an EXACT animal. You have NARROWED it down, and made it THAT MUCH MORE easy to KNOW the ACTUAL guide (think like this: Those who HAVE power, KNOW the GUIDES. IF I were to tell a "deceiver" that a gopher was my guide... Process of elimination. "Knock" them all off until you got to the specific guide that claims ME. MUCH like when you are describing someone in a crowd. Pick out SOME thing about them that is unique. Their NAME signature.) Those with "bad" power COULD "figure them out" but they COULD NOT unlock their BLOOD, if they were not specific.
**To be completely honest with you, the answer I GOT for that question threw me off a bit.**
"...It is definitely not as strong as you or WB..." I disagree. The Spirits of the animals have been present from the beginning of their lifeline. Nothing is as strong as the hidden spirit of the souls of all animals. In order to LIVE, one MUST have the "spark of life".
I AM NOT strong, I am Blessed, and IN those blessings I carry with me the Love of my Great Spirit. I am HUMBLED by the Spirit, and NOT stronger than it.
I have MUCH more, but fear I took over this thread 😉 without fully intending to. Anymore questions, I would be happy to try to assist.
