I think it's really sweet that Susan thought of you as a mother figure. I really hope that she found her real mother, and that she is happy. 😊
Have you ever been back into the apartment to see if she is still there? Do you know how/why the earthquake woke her? Maybe she was killed in an earthquake many years before? Just a guess. 😕

Nor_Cal_Girl, thank you for the compliment I wrote and re-wrote it so many times trying to shorten it, it was much longer at first. LOL! I thought it strange also that the activity happened one night after the earthquake. We lived there for over a year and had not experienced anything. Maybe the earthquake opened a portal for her to come through. The block I lived on is a historical block so it is possible that there could have been a death on that land. I never researched it, but will take a look and see if I come up with anything. Thanks again for reading. 😊

Interesting, I've never heard of a story like this. (an earthquake awakening a spirit). It wasn't too long in my opinion just so you know, I've read muuuuuuch longer ones, not to mention that this one was well written. Have you ever tried looking up any of the history of the building? Maybe you could find out why she is still there. Thanks for posting!

Poor little girl... I thought the ghost was someone who died during the earthquake somewhere in the house accidentally without you knowing. I was wrong. Hahah...
