Jav,
I thought a Living Residual was a 'recorded event' that played back just like a residual haunting but the 'person' that was involved with it's 'creation' was still living? Even in the case of a 'living residual' the 'recording' does not interact with the witness it is simply a 'playback' of the recorded event.
Respectfully, 😲 😉 😆

mystique20,
A residual haunting is merely a recording of something that happened. Certain events (anniversary for example) or conditions (thunder storm for example) allow the recording to play back. If this story was about a hitchhicker that climbed into the car, rode in silence... Pointing to indicate where it needed to be let out and then 'vanished' would be a good desription of a residual haunting. The story of Resurection Mary here in the States comes to mind.
An inteligent Haunting is a Haunting where there is some sort of communication or interaction of some type...EVP's, Automatic Writing... The apparition reacting to something the witness does or says.
I hope this helps, please ask any other questions you may have... There are those here that may be able to answer way better than myself...
Respectfully,
Rook

mystique20,
I think what many of us are bothered about is the holding back of information that seems odd here. If you had been in his place and were told about the things he claims to have been, would you tell someone about the whole thing and then NOT tell them that part? If so, why?

Living residuals... Hmmm... Would be interesting and freaky all at the same time. I know I did read a thread on YGS where that discussion (living residuals) was going on...

mystique20: Residual and Intelligent hauntings are 2 seperate things, although lately it has been discussed about people witnessing Living Residual Hauntings which is seeing the actions of a person whilst they are not presently there but are still alive. This also is bordered along with the Doppelganger theory. In regards to this story it is definitely Intelligent! 😊

Some aspects of this story can be true... Maybe the o/p went overboard and added in a few things "to spice up the story".
[at] Those who know more about these things than me: If the girl actually did appear on every death anniversary... And hitched a ride... Or tried to hitch a ride... It would be kind of "residual" right? But if she interacts with the o/p it would need to be an intelligent haunting? Can a residual also be intelligent?

Kryodrache,
Welcome to YGS! Yeah, you won't see a whole lot of overbearing attitudes ftom mods here either. We basically have zzgranny, who kicks butt when it's called for but isn't all up your face for little crap. That's one big difference here.

i really hope that this story is true because it matches a lot with what I have heard since my childhood. Stories about tantrics (wizards) would blow us away and stories of their deeds were incredible. I myself am no stranger to the paranormal and I have published two of the many events that have occured to me but never have I encountered such a friendly non-family ghost but yet it does follow the pattern of events that are said to happen in many instances our culture.

What I don't understand is why out of the billions of people on this earth this girl chose you to divulge all the information about the process of leaving the physical world and entering into the spiritual world! 😕
I understand how you may be able to communicate subconciously with the spiritual world but so can a massive amount of people. Not even the best psychics and mediums in the world have that kind of information that you received. Dont get me wrong I love your story but certain things do not add up. Would be great to hear from you.
Thank you
Dan

Kryodrache,
No, that's not how I see it. We do our own poilicing on this site. We like it that way. There are stories that get rejected for all sorts of reasons, but this story didn't really fall into those categories. At least that's my opinion. This was a whole separate situation. And the author still can return and prove me wrong.
Thar's the way we are here

I seriously thought about keeping my mouth shut on this because I couldn't find that other story. That lasted about half a day. I figured, what the hell, I'll get beat up if I'm wrong, so what? Like that doesn't happen once a week anyway? 😜 But if I never said a word, and I ended up being right? Besides, when have you known me to hold back?

I hear that! What bothers me about this is that missing information scenario is tailored just for a site like this. It really chaps my butt that someone thinks just because we are interested in the paranormal, we must be suckers for anything.

That's about how I see it as well. All they need do is return and offer up what they say they learned that is so mysterious. They marked the choice of participation they were willing to engage in, as noted above. But have yet to return and back any of this up.
Maybe they will return. I wish they would.

When YGS member posts a story, then bolts when the reaction is negative, that sends up a huge red flag for me.
Yes, there could be many reasons for that.
But stand by what you write. Have some character.
It's pretty preposterous. But I could be wrong...

Holy Moly Javelina, your last comment is scarier and far more creepy. I hope you are wrong, that a scam like that wouldn't come onto ygs... 😨
In my OPINION, it did seem odd that a spirit could communicate for such long periods, even subconsciously, while the OP was supposed to be driving... In India, no less.

Nysa and Argette,
The entire thing turned into an infomercial, in my opinion. I'd seen something similar on another site. That story's author had left out certain "unknowns" in the story as well. That was the thing that got people interested, they would then leave their email address and requested the information, only to be told that the author didn't feel comfortable sending the information over the Internet and would only send it by post. Here's where it got funky, the author offered to send it by post but would need to cover expenese, seeing that so many had requested the info, and for a nominal fee...
I just get a real bad feeling when I see something like this on this site. So I called it out.
That's all.
Jav
~If I'm proven wrong, and the only way that can happen is for the author to put the information out on this thread, then I'll take it all back. Until that occurs, I stand behind my first comment.

WOAH!What a wonderful and excellent creepy story. I really enjoy reading it. Only one in millions could communicate with paranormal entities and your one of them. Can you please describe how ratna looks like? Because I am really interested to know more about her. Infact I would love to know life after our death. Could you make another post with the information? Once again, this story of yours is the best among all the stories that have read so far.Ya,it made me to know the otherside of paranormal entities. I have learnt that sometimes spirits also could be as friendly like ratna.Well, thanks for this amazing story. Hope you will participate in the discussion soon.

[at] evilmonster,
Glad you weighed in. I was wondering who it would be. You don't need to like my comment, my previous posts, my attitude or personality. Makes no difference to me. But your comment seemed so well thought out that I just couldn't let it go by without acknowledging you for your trouble.
However, your obvious attempt at intimidation does not impress me. It's far too familiar. I can smell the gasoline from here.
So, before the flames get too high, I'll take my leave. I'm sure you have a lot of work ahead of you, what with all the besmirching to get to. It does make for good kindling, does it not?
Have fun dear, your visits are so rare, I wouldn't want you to leave... Unsatisfied with your work, which is certain to be a masterpiece. Can't have you waste all the planning and preparation it must have taken for just this moment to come along. You did say you were prepared tp publish your thoughts about me? In an unflattering way at that.
You certainly don't expect me to try and stop you, do you?
Jav ❤

[at] Javelina:
I would and I am sure many of us here on this site would prefer it if you would refrain from attacking the author personally. You could just have said "I don't buy it" and left it at that.
I would like to assure you that through reading your comments on this site, my perceptions of you aren't very high nor would they be agreeable to you. But I do not see the need to flaunt them as you have just done. I could very well publish my judgement of you (which you definitely would not like) and then I guess you would be on the receiving end.
I come from Nepal which is culturally very similar to India so I can relate with a lot of things that the author has written about. Just because our culture is different from yours doesn't mean you have to discriminate against us. If you didn't understand how the author might have come across the things that he has written about, you could have just asked before passing judgement, and that too publicly.
So you don't believe what the author has written? Fine. You want to say it out aloud? Fine, that is your opinion. But I can see no need to personally attack the author. If any mods are listening in, then I would like to urge them to take necessary action.

My dear little BhatakatiAatma,
This story sounds just like a "got ya".
The length of this post
Was longer than most
And it sounds like you're high on the 'ganja'
So spare me the long dissertation
For I will not join the elation
You're thowing out bait
Then lying in wait
You'll jump them with no hesitation.
The story you've told is fictitious
You're playing on lost hope and wishes
What you're doing is sad
And they'll see they've been had
And I hear they can get rather viscious.
Run away little man, you'd better move fast
Once this post goes up, they'll know in a flash
That you have been planning to cheat them
You have no real secrets to tell
What you want is their money
Good lock with that sonny!
I really don't think it will sell 😆 😆
What a Maroooon!
Jav 😆

I'm not a skeptic when it comes to paranormal activity. It happens. Everyone seems to experience a little differently- sort of like those who experience life after death. Many come back with similiar stories, yet there are so many different details and everyone's experience is in some way unique.
I will always be skeptical when it comes to one thing- those that claim to have the answers to life after death. Those with a real experience can tell you what they learned from the experience- first hand or perhaps from a haunting. Never do they come out of the experience with "the answers"- Those who make such claims are a turn off for me.

Please, can you share that information here in the comments section, or maybe make another post with the information?

I find this story really interesting. Especially because November 17, 1996 is my birthday, and I'm 15 years old. Also September 10, 2005 is five days after my little sister's birthday. Strange indeed, but probably only a coincidence.

Fascinating account and thank you for sharing it... The fact that this girl died before her time and continues to help those who cross over suggest to me that her meeting with you was no coincident... Remember she pointed out, we'll meet again? I believe her mission all along was to help steer you away from taking that apartment and think about how your life would have changed if you did?...our lives are mapped out, but unfortunately from time to time things do go wrong like the un timely death of this young girl, there are those in the spiritual realm, angels, guardians that work on the cuff of our existence doing there best to keep us in this realm until our time is up and I think that's what this young girl was doing... Interesting observation that she said to you... Not all people can connect sub consciously? I believe our sub conscious is our spiritual consciousness and the fact that you was not frighten enabled you to connect to the level that you did, I wonder if others would have seen her in your car? Or whether it was just you connecting in full with the spiritual realm?...once again thank you for sharing it!

I really really like the story. It is just different from most of the haunting stories here. It makes me understand a lot about how spirits feel and think and a lot of puzzles we will never figure out by ourselves. It would be wonderful if you can share more details about your conversation with her. I am not nosy about people's privacy, but I'd like to know things on the other side. I love this story and I like this little girl.

I am confused on one point. Your grandparents told you, upon your arrival, that the road was haunted but you could not find any indication that Ratna had been seen before. Were there other ghosts in the area that gave it the reputation for being haunted?
