You know the ironic thing about all this, my cousin who is a practising medium and charges around 100 dollars an hour warned me about 6 months ago... Told me blunt to loose weight or else, I didn't really pay any attention, it was only when I stopped breathing in my sleep for about 40 seconds and having a sleep paralysis attack in the process of which I believe was a god send not a curse... I have to say that my mom is similar. Whenever a ghost/entity takes something where she knows she put it she talks to it, "GIVE ME BACK MY _!" then she would find it again.
Me I'm a pansy and if I feel anything, ghost, entity, something supernatural then I either tell it to get out of my house/room that I'm in or leave myself.

I never thought about cheating at cards with it 😆 but it sounds like fun! I like that it can be used for fun, and I have used it on the dogs, still do. That's too easy really, but the kids find it entertaining as hell! "Do it again mom!" And the dogs know exactly where it comes from. 😆

My mother used to practice on us and our dad, lol. Never Anything mean, more like "bring home bread, pick up eggs, call me" things like that. Granted, I got caught at it cheating at cards with my two brothers, got lectured by mom and felt horrible (still cheat at cards when I play them today, lol, but it's more in fun nowadays) but it was a learning experience. I rarely do it with people that I don't know, but use it on the current boyfriend a lot. As long as it hurts nobody, including making yourself feel bad, I say go for it.

Yeah, I've been reluctant to try it on humans myself, I honestly don't know why, maybe I'm just lazy. 😆 Or maybe I don't want it used back at me. I do believe karma has a lot to do with the decisions I make. You know, sometimes I won't want to help someone simply because I feel they need to do it themselves. I'll tell them how and then leave them to it. It all depends, if it is someone that is constantly getting themselves into trouble you just have to let them suffer sometimes, or they will continue to be an albatross,

A mental push can be used not only on the spirit or entity. The same push can be used on the living (although its considered rude, but that's only if you get caught 😆) humans or animals. It can be fun to practice on your family members, you'll learn which section of your brain it takes to push different people or animals with, gain experience and use the experience to your advantage in working with paranormal things.

Exactly! Things are so much easier than some folks make them out to be, lol. People need to just keep to what they feel inside, and have more faith and confidence in themselves. If it takes a wand, a candle, salt, tarot, a ouija board (although I'm getting pretty tired of destroying these things, because of parents buying them for kids and then freaking out and asking for help) so be it. Use whatever you feel is necessary. No huge pomp and ceremony is necessary every time.

One interesting fact about my mother. She could get rid of a bad, or malevolent spirit with the power of her mind. The only way I can describe her method is that it was like an energy push, she blew them out of existence.

I have to agree, if it works for them, they should use it. The important thing is the result. What I do know is that it all comes down to faith. Not religious faith, personal faith that what is being done will work. To bring the problem to it's conclusion, you must have faith in your chosen method. That's all. It doesn't have to be complicated unless you feel that is the only way. So yes, it is personal, and that being said, I've always chosen the shortest, most simple solutions myself.

I've rarely used props, except when I'm very tired or the situation is very bad. Lol if I'm called to sage or smudge, I'll leave props as well for the living, as well as teaching them how to focus on whatever is in the home that's bothering them. Once they learn how to handle things on their own, they sometimes still font feel strong enough, so the props help them as well.

I think that the new age craze has done a lot of good, but it's getting to the point of being quite a profitable business, and that's ok also, I'm just not buying. I don't need to. If I read tarot, it's like using a screw driver for me. Just a tool. I can immediately tell which people are born this way (strong) and which have had experiences, want more, and use props to attain it. This us ok also, if only from the standpoint that it promotes peace and understanding. Everything is personal. Nobody can use one persons method and be as effective as the other person was.

My family was very strong, they used no props. I will often light a candle and focus, but nothing more. Works for me, lol.

No truer words were ever spoken! 😆 The funny thing is that my mother was the seer of the family, and she never used props. She never had a problem she couldn't take care of on her own, and we never knew anything about shielding. This kind of talk may be frowned upon here, but it's all true.

I go by gut instinct. Always have. Always will. The things that are written are merely suggestions. Many of us have no need for props most of the time. You appear to be one of these folks, like myself. I've used salt, sage, candles, feathers, etc. I only use things like this when I don't feel strong enough. These "props" in my humble opinion are for US. Not the spirits. It's to get our spiritual, emotional, physical, and psychic strength built up to the point that we KNOW we are invincible, and in turn, the spirit feels more raw power come from us. That's the goal. Props may help to attain this, but not necessary at all.

There's a huge trust issue going on here lately. And I'm of the mind that if I don't feel comfortable I certainly am not going to trust others with one of the more profound experiences I've ever had. So it will probably be a while before I post that one up, if ever.

I see what you mean. The only thing I used to know about salt is the superstitous spilt-throw-over-your-shoulder thing; and only recently have I read about its use for cleansing/protecting. The power of the mind is incredible, and I definitely think a lot of it does relate to whether or not you believe it will work. So you and I are eye to eye there. I am glad that George seemed to be playful and harmless, even though the chairs and candles trick must have initially been so frightening for you two. I hope to read more stories from you soon! 😁

Yeah, my mom was pretty straight forward when it came to messing around, she didn't care who or what you were, if you messed with her you were going to pay.
George wasn't the only one who tested her patience. I'll have to write more stories here pretty soon about my mom and how she handled the ghosties. All I know is everybody was treated equally, dead or alive, it didn't matter.

Here's what gets me about the salt, we never heard about using salt to ward off bad spirits. Which is why you never see me recommend using salt. I'm not saying it won't work, I'm just saying that in my experience it hasn't got the power it does for others. Like most cures, it's power has a lot to do with the users belief in the cure. And in my experience, like this one with George, salt was just salt.
The question of why George isn't as active as he was in the past has me wondering too. Like I said in my story, I do believe he had a thing for my mom, and maybe that has something to do with it. I don't really know.
