Cassidy, I think I know you personally. I use to work with you at the call center and think I currently work with your husband. I also want to asure you that you could talk to some people during this difficult time in your life, you would be suprised who has experienced something themselves. No one would think you are crazy you seem very down to earth and a nice person from what I have seen. Just wanted to let you know that there are people who would totally understand and be willing to listen to you in a nonjudgemental way. ❀

I did get to talk to my brother the other day. He stated he would go with me to video tape but he would prefer it be during the day. His best friend refuses to go up there with him so he said he would wait for me to come down... I think I should call and ask him if the people he knew that lived there a few months had any encounters they told him about. That was something I hadn't thought of. I might call today and ask him about that.

You will have to change the [at] to the at symbol and cut the whole link, you can't just click on it... Do you guys know a way to delete your on comments... I feel I have posted so many just trying to get the picture up and they have become repetitive... My last few post have just been "oo I got them up, but wait ugh I can't find them, ummm the mailbox is full wait no uhhh", ha ha and I am an IT major that's sad huh:) 😁

So I feel dumb lol... Instead of searching flikr I should have just added the link...http://www.flickr.com/photos/54316792 [at] N08/?find=ophelias_tragic_suicide%40yahoo.com...It would have saved me a lot of comment posting...

O and on Flickr you also have to set the settings to "people" and not photos... Just thought I would add that in there:)

ok I figured out flickr... When you go to flickr go to search and set the search settings to All Flickr members. Then type in this e-mail address and my pictures pop up ophelias_tragic_suicide [at] yahoo.com (Yeah I know it is a ridiculous e-mail ha ha, it isn't my main one and I picked it out when I was really into Hamlet 10 years ago:)

The google maps link I put shows a lot of the front and side of the house. Also I don't know how old their maps picture is but it had to have been taken either after I moved out or before because I don't recognize the black S.U.V. In the driveway and the grass is short. I am just happy I found it there because it is a pretty decent picture and the yard and such isn't grown up in so you can see the house better.

If anyone finds the pics on flikr let me know... I tried searching on google and on flikr for my user name to see how easy it would be to find them but I couldn't get my name or pictures to pull up. I placed the settings to public.

I am currently uploading pics to flikr right now:) I included some of the house... Still looking for a full picture of the front. It is funny how I come across that picture all the time and now I can't find it.Don't you hate when that happens. I did set up a account. Thanks for the suggestion. My user name is CassidyW84. I am new to flikr so I don't know that much about it yet. I ended up just putting some pictures of my grandparents and people I mentioned in my story as well as a few where you can see the house in the background and one of the back of the house. As I had mentioned earlier, I talked with my sister in law and we are under the impression that it wasn't just one thing there. I know a lot of ya'll have commented on the graveyard next to the first house in Greenpond. Besides "Ray" being buried there it never really never bothered me living next to it. Graveyards still never really bother me. I am a little aggravated though at where my family is buried because someone did not buy a plot at the cemetery where my family is and the funeral home buried someone right in front of my grandfather (to close) with no headstone without consent from the church! And now his army marker is gone and someone keeps taking my fathers flowers. We have put two grave toppers on so far and someone keeps taking them off. That's a little off topic and defiantly isn't part of the story but it is still aggravating that someone would take grave flowers off. If I could get someone to come with me I might could go up to the house and take a video. I will not go there by myself and would prefer my brother to go with me because like I said I try to stay away from it if at all possible. I wanted to tell experiences and if I am going to tell them I might as well have something to show. I am also concerned to go out there because of the overgrowth and snakes. The floor has caved in in the kitchen (where I fell through a while back) windows have been knocked out and trash is everywhere inside (some people my brother knew lived there for a short time after I moved out). I almost don't want to show what it looks like now out of embarrassment. When I stayed there it was an old house, with horrible siding, ugly carpet, and in need of A LOT of tlc, but know it looks like a place hobos would spend the night in. The way it looks now is not what it looked like when I lived there so I guess what I am saying is I want to put a video up but I am embarrassed of the house. But I am going to do it anyways. Probably next week because my church is in the same area and I could ride by after service. I know the pictures I added only show pats of the house. If you use google maps you can sort of see it from the road. Just type in Crossville Loop, Vernon Alabama and the map will pull up, it has a green roof. I also want to say again, please no ghost hunting or anything. Do not try to go to this house. There is a neighborhood watch and for safety precautions. Also my brother will call the police if there are trespassers. I am not trying to be mean I just don't want my grandmothers house to become a spectacle.

Cassidy I have to agree with Miracles. If youre a loon youre in good company on this site 😊

You have a wonderful way of telling about your experiences in the house and have to say agree with those that have said it doesn't sound like it was a family member who was doing this.

Cant wait to see those photos of the house too!

Truly terrifying. I am glad you are out of that situation. I don't get the sense that the entity that you were communicating with was just a spirit from the graveyard.

I wonder if you might have better luck posting your pictures to a photo-sharing site like Flickr or Photobucket. If your camera was a better quality one, the digital images might be too large to upload directly without sizing them down to 640x480 pixels at 72 dpi. That would be an option with either of the mentioned sites as well as Pikasa and others. You could post to here after that or just post a link in your comments.
Good luck and God Bless...

Still no luck on getting the pictures submitted... I can possibly get a video in maybe a month or so if I am in the area. I try to stay away from the property a much as I can but I feel I owe it to you guys to add a picture or something. When I sent the pictures like the e-mail directed it was still telling me the e-mail I sent to was full?

So I have searched everywhere for that picture of the front of the house and cannot find it. Hopefully I can find it when I wake up... I did send pictures of me and Maw Maw in the kitchen of the house, my grandmother in the swing on where you can see the side porch, An older picture with my grandmother and a friend so you can see the side of the house, an old picture of my grandma and grandpa and my dad as a kid on the front steps, and a picture of the back of the house. Honestly they might not look good because I don't have a scanner and had to actually take a picture of the picture. I will try to actually get some better ones put up when I can find them. As you can tell this is a very old house. I actually went to Shelia's house and talked to her today. Living in this house is something we don't talk about much but I brought it up today. She has her own experiences in the house and I am hoping she will post them in the comments section here if she gets time because I would not want to tell the story from her side. I will leave that for her to write down here. She had a different kind of experience while she was there. She did read over what I wrote and thought I should add in that when we moved in all the plumbing etc worked fine but within a week the pipe under the sink busted the plumbing backed up, the washer broke, the linoleum that had recently been put down started coming up... It was like we moved in and everything broke. Probably a coincidence but if so a very aggravating one ha ha. To reply to the comment of fixing it up. The truth is when I moved in I wanted to get the money up to fix the house... Like the pictures showed it was a very old house and probably not the prettiest thing anyone has ever seen. A bit of an eyesore. The siding is ancient! I had this plan when I first moved in to reside the whole house and maybe put a tin roof on it when we got some money together but I grew to hate being there. I feel really bad about the house being abandoned but I do not want to live there. (and now it is uninhabitable). I kind of feel I let my grandma down. The best thing we could do would be to tear the whole structure down at this point. Like I pointed out earlier I came back to the house a few months ago and fell through the floor! It is amazing how bad a house can get when no one lives in it. I will reply a little more to comments tomorrow. Between being a full time college student,aunt,sister-in-law and wife I have now been up for 24 hours and plan on sleeping all day tomorrow:) I just wanted to get on here and post what little pictures I had:) I hoped this comment made sense I am sooo tired right now.

Maybe your grandma wanted just you in the house, and no one else. She wanted you to keep her house pretty too but as far as you mentioned it has been abandoned and does not look in good shape... As for your brother, you could ask him help you with the repairs, fix up the garden so at least you keep your grandma happy, you never know he might change his mind and become a believer...

You are one brave person! If I was in your shoes and my boyfriend was telling me that, I would most likely slap him and ran off! The story was great, don't worry if it's too long I think we all like long detailed stories, yours has a lot of details where I could picture everything, even the color of the built-in book shelves πŸ˜† and now I'm wondering what were the other things that happen in the house that you didn't mention😭

Great story!

well now you realize that whoever spoke through John was not that of a family member.
This was obvious because recalling from your story (perfectly written by the way) you mention how you have been told/heard there are good and bad entities there of which were trying to claim your soul.
Being next to a graveyard may not have helped, perhaps the bad entity was not even from the house, just a lingerer from the graveyard opposite.
I think demons can also take forms of loved ones (but at least one part of the body will be disfigured, apparantly), so I'd be skeptical of who your daughter was 'really' talking too when she said the guy looked like your family member (uncle?). Perhaps and probably she was talking to the guy she recognizes in the picture.
Way to much within what you wrote, suggests that whoever was unsettling you was nothing to do with your family.
Posession and poltergiest activity means the entity in question was pretty strong and so you was wise to take your family away from this house.
Evilness can be sneaky, this could be talking to you through someone else, visiting you in the pretence form of someone else (look closely, you will see/feel something is not right... If it is not right) .
You definatly have a gift, and I think that unfortuantely for you you was living next to a graveyard where a evil entity was well aware of the gift you have.

Wow CassidyW84 what a story it was well written and very descriptive. What can I say that house seemed horrible, but my overall feeling is that whatever was doing this to you and your family was not a loved one the events you experienced seem out of character to how you described your past loved ones.
I found the conversation you had with who was speaking through John to be quite intriguing, so pretty much something possesed in some way and spoke through him! It would have been interesting if you questioned it further but you don't think of something like that at the time suppose, this being seems quite powerful.

I am glad that this has passed for you and you are happy and trouble free.

Thank you for sharing your story!

Oh my, I just read all of the comments, including the explanation of the conversation you had with whatever got a hold of John. That must've been truly unnerving. It was for me, and I was only reading it! Like Miracles said, its very good that you were able to keep calm.

I just don't know what to make of this being... I haven't known human entities to do this sort of thing, but I, like everyone else, have so much to learn from otherworldy shinanagans. Hopefully some other posters will have some sort of idea. 😊

Cassidy, if you are a loon, you fit right in with everyone else on this site! So, you're in good company. All of us have felt that way at least once.

You know, in your original story, when you were telling about the "being" who was talking through John, sneaky and conniving was the impression I got. Oily and snakey are two other words that fit too. I still say, good for you for being able to hold it together and try to get information out of him. And for standing your ground. You've got a good head on your shoulders.

I'm glad you have your mom's support behind you and that your younger brother is a believer too. As for your other brother, he may never come around. And it's okay if he doesn't. My sister doesn't believe either, but she loves me. We just agree not to discuss this part of my life. And that's okay too. That's where my friends come in πŸ˜†.

You know I am very confused about my uncle in all of this. I do know that he was a very big mama's boy. He loved my grandparents very much. He was also a very wonderful father and uncle. He had Muscular Dystrophy and was very depressed. I don't believe my uncle was the so called one that wanted to tear us apart... I believe there was defiantly more than one force that was around. I do not believe what I spoke with was anyway related to my uncle. I will elaborate on our conversation now since no one has thought I was losing my mind on here. His voice was very low and smooth, almost sneaky. At one point in the conversation our dog walked up growling and it said "I hate that dog, I want to kill it." I looked at it and said "John loves that dog you know that's his dog" it spoke back "But I'm not John and you know this don't you" and I then replied "Yeah I know that. But you better not hurt our dog" It spoke back "I have better things to do than hurt your precious little dog" I asked it how old it was and it just replied "I am older than you, than your parents, than your grandparents and your great grandparents. I am older than you think I am, I have been around for a long time, but talking about me is not what I want to do, Lets talk about you for a spell." that's when the conversation went to what was mentioned above. So I am under the impression whatever that was would be the one trying to tear us apart like he told me... I wish I could remember the whole conversation word for word but I am only going to write about the parts that I remember clearly so as to not misinform anyone about what happened. The main thing I wanted to do on here is not hype up my story I want it to be as accurate as possible down to this conversation, but that is one part I do remember almost word for word. As for my brother believing. My younger Brother Mark does believe me now. He has experienced things before and knows I wouldn't make things up like that. He also is the one that shuts the door and locks it all the time. My mother also believes me too which is good because She was the first person I told this to besides the people living with us. I would call her all the time and ask her to pray for us and pray for me to get some guidance in the situation. My older brother on the other hand unfortunately will not believe me. He says things like "I think you guys think you saw these things happen." Or "When did your imagination get so vivid Cassidy."I don't blame him I was the same way before all of this happened but it would be nice if he would just believe it." I am still looking for some pics to put up... I know I have one of the house that my grandmother took somewhere in the closet. I just found one of the back of the house. I have to leave soon to do some errands so hopefully when I get home I can find it... Writing this was really spur of the moment I should have got these together beforehand but I just saw the site and was like hmmm I need to get this off my chest. Thanks for reading an for not thinking I am a loon ha ha I was afraid of that happening but so far so good...

Thank you for sharing your story. I really did enjoy reading it. As mentioned by another poster, I actually felt I was living this. The image of everything was so clear in my head. My you and your family certainly endured some very unpleasant happenings. I have not read the other comments, but I was wondering why your Uncle Vic wanted to tar your family apart.

I am sorry for the loss of your father. But happy you managed to move your family to a safer home.

Cassidy, that kind of makes me wonder if perhaps a relative or relatives distant past might not have wanted you or anyone else to live in the home. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense that your MawMaw would tell you she wanted you to fix it up and make it pretty for her, just to turn around and run you out, huh?

I am very impressed that you were able to keep your composure when "whoever" was speaking through John. A lot of people, with a lot more experience behind them than you, would have completely freaked out and thought he was possessed by a demon or something! Kudos to you, Cassidy. You did good!

I am so happy for you and your brother that your dad visited you in your dreams. Sometimes our family members will visit us that way to reassure us that they are okay. Sometimes, as it appears in this case, they deliver good news too. Is your brother a believer now? LOL!

I'm glad you have a happier memory to help balance the bad ones. That's the one to hold onto.

Don't worry about the spelling errors. We all make them!

The one thing I don't understand is that all my family members loved me very much and I don't know why this was happening to me... I do think that whatever was there had been there way before me. My grandparents were simple people and my grandmother especially had a strange attachment to the house. I remember growing up I can't recall how many times MawMaw would say "When I die Cassidy Fix this old place up, make it pretty for me."As far as the history of the house I know it is at least almost 80 years old if not older. It was made to be shared between two families. When you walk in the front door there is the kitchen, to the left a living room. If you go through the kitchen there is a bathroom right in the middle of the house and you have to go through the bathroom to get to the two rooms in the back. So back in the old days there could be a family living in the front two rooms with a,separate door leading to the side porch, and family in the back two rooms and a shared bathroom. I do have a happier thing to share though. The one thing I can say is through all of the encounters the only time I was not scared was when I was talking to whatever it was that was speaking through John. I was scared afterward but when I was actually talking to it and asking questions I just felt like "What can I find out about this thing?"I do have a happier side to the story though. After I moved from the house I had a dream that I was at my fathers house with my family having a Bar-B-Que.I looked down the hallway and I saw my dad! He had a strange glow around him and he was holding a baby. He was smiling so big and looked so happy so I had to smile back. I woke up and it felt so real. I mean I could still smell the Bar-b-Que in my dreams. I thought about this for a few days. I just knew it meant something. Two weeks later I found out my youngest brother's wife was pregnant! I didn't tell my brother right away because my brothers are so skeptical about things. Then months later We all took a trip to the Beach. We were sitting outside and I was about to tell him about the dream but then he piped up and said "Cassidy I had this weird dream while back."I was like hmm this is weird I was about to tell him the same thing. My brother said "I had a dream that dad was standing over a baby bed and he looked at me and smiled and said "She is so beautiful Mark, you have to take care of her she is so precious." Mark said "this was before we knew if she was a boy or girl or what." It is strange because my brother actually moved into my dads house and fixed it up and the doorway, in the hall I saw my dad smiling with a baby in, now leads to My nieces Nursery. I just think about it a lot. Even know the hair is kind of standing up on my head. Ha Ha but in a good way.

Cassidy, first I'd like to say I truly enjoyed reading your story. It's unfortunate that your's is not a "feel good" story, but rather one of the scary stories. What is worse is that it is actually your family members who are doing the "haunting." The messages by "Ray" were terrifying enough, but to be ran out of the home your dad wanted you to have...that's just wrong.

It is obvious that you have a gift. I guess you realize that by now, huh? In some people, the gift begins very early in age (toddler even). Some "lose" their gift, whether by society or what have you. Sometimes the gift lays dormant for years. Then there could have been signs that you just may have overlooked πŸ˜‰, but hun, you definitely have the gift of seeing and hearing the paranormal.

Please don't let these incidents, as bad as they were, sour you on this part of your life. There are some truly wonderful experiences out there. Not all "ghosts" want to tear your family apart, run you out of your home or scare your and yours. If you haven't had the chance, there are some really great stories on here that others have shared about their experiences with the softer side of the paranormal.

I'm glad you found this site. There are many, many wonderful people on here. And sometimes it helps just to get it all out. To talk to people who understand what you went through.

One thing I always recommend, because it has helped me: keep a journal. Write these things down. You have great writing skills. Put these things down on paper or even on the computer. Even if you just copy them from here. But my journal has helped me tremendously. It's almost a form of therapy. Makes you realize you AREN'T crazy!

My best to you and your family ❀

I am going to post some pictures of the house and such on here probably tonight when I get home. I wish I still had the picture I took in the orchard but unfortunately it was taken on one of the cell phones that I mentioned so I don't have that one anymore... I am thinking of talking to my brother about the recording. I only see him about once a month so it might take a while to get that on the net but I will absolutely put it on my to do list. Thanks so much for the kind words. It was a very horrible time in my life. Losing my grandmother, the strange occurrences, getting married and losing my dad within a few months time... I haven't told many people about my encounters in fear that they would think I was crazy but it has weighed on my mind for almost 2 years and I found this site and felt relieved to actually share it with people!-Cassidy

Oh my! Your story is the first in a while that freaked me out a bit! By the way, your writing skills are great.

Anyway... It sounds like some things definitely happened in that house, prior to your move in. I'm glad you were able to move, though, and get your life back.

I would love to hear the recordings you were able to capture, as well as see pics of the house. 😊
