❤ I loved your story, Rook! Although I'm more of a dog lover, your story really touched my heart! I have had several babies (pet dogs) and it has always broken my heart whenever they would pass away. I remember having dreams about them being in a better place after passing on (one of my pitbulls, Golota, was very sickly and when he died, I dreamt of him that night. He was 'smiling' and jumping and running as if to tell me that he's all better). It just makes me happy to think that like people, animals too, move to a better place after death. And somehow, when my own time comes, I know that they will be on the other side waiting for me. I loved your story! ❤

Good story Rook... I too believe that spirits remain with there body and release themselves when chosen family members are in there presence... Both my dad and mum waited for me... I know that deep in my soul for sure and I can tell you, the lead up days to my mothers departure, I selfishly kept away from the hospital afraid of loosing her and sure enough when it was that time for her to go I was there... All that separates the animals on a spiritual level and makes us human is our conscious state of mind... But apart from that they are spiritually connected to the universe just like the rest of us...

Rook - Our friends have already posted most of what I'd have said, but I would like to add that I find it utterly amazing the bond your cats had with each other. Yes, I know, it's natural that animals bond with their people and give them signs either when passing or after they've passed 😉, but this is the very first time I've ever heard of a cat (or animal) coming to take their loved one home. Wow, yep, this makes me cry.
I've been told over the years that animals don't have souls. Never believed it and this just further cements why I don't believe some of the things I've been brought up to believe.
Great story, Rook. Glad you felt you should share that part of Blue and Stormy with us. ❤

Aww I really liked this story. I think cats do look out for their owners, just like dogs do. I'm glad your kitties have stayed together.:)

I have lived with cats all my life and I feel a very strong connection with them. They have raised and taught me and have protected me all my life. Even when they have passed on I still see them and they still protect me. I know how you feel but don't worry they will always be with you.

Rook: So sorry for the loss of your cats. It's really sad when they get old and sick. It's kind of like taking care of an elderly parent or relative. Blue and Smokey sounded like they were 2 very smart Cats. It also looks like they were meant to live with you and your family as you have a military background here are your animals standing guard every night. I love this story ❤ Going right in my fav's 😊

rookdygin -
Thanks so much for sharing this story with us. I write here with tears in my eyes. Such a sweet story of love and devotion. I truly believe our pets are more than "dumb animals", and your story has proved that out.
Blessings to your family and your wonderful cats. Prayers that they are together and resting comfortably in the spirit world - reward for a job well done.

So very sorry for your losses. Animals touch us so deeply during their brief lives; and when they leave us, they take a piece of us, too. To know that you and your family were/are loved enough to be guarded and protected by these independent creatures is really very sweet.
Thank you so much for posting this. What a lovely story.

Rook- That was such a great story! I almost teared up a little, because it reminded me so much of my cat, Lion, before he passed.
You'll always have them in your thoughts, and I hope Spot will give you the same joys. 😊 ❤

Thank you both... Animals can be such a wonderful part of our lives and these two sisters were a big part of our family for a long time.

I don't know what to say. This is so sad, but so very sweet at the same time. Amazing how our pets can become so much more than just "pets." They are true members of the family, each an individual who contributes something unique to the household. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Rook: Wow!...Cats are pretty cool... So sorry for your loss... But you have Spot now, and I'm sure that soon there will be another kitten/s for her to train as well, so the chain will remain unbroken! 😆...It's really cool how Stormy went to the carrier like she knew she was going somewhere...
Great story, thank you for posting! ❤ ❤
