Miracles,
Congratulations on your 1000th post! Woo Hoo!
Lady, you have done a whole lot of wonderful things here by just being who you are, a nice person.
You exemplify what a nice person should be, and to tell you the truth, I don't like to think about what it would be like here without you.
Thank you for all the times you've been there for me, and all the laughs too.
I'm proud to call you my friend,

JamesRobiscoe - First, thank you for commenting on my story. I was, frankly, surprised π when I saw that you had. But then when I read your first sentence, I was speechless. It's taken me this long to figure out how to respond to you. It always amazes me when someone says things like you did. I think I'm a nice person π and have a good heart, but for someone (a stranger) to think that just from entries from my Journal, it always take me by surprise. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart (or the top, whichever is the best part today LOL).
And the second thing I'd like to say is this, you asked if the mother was thanking me too. Obviously I never mentioned this, but when I crossed the little girl over that is who I thought was waiting on her. I mean, literally, not just an idea. I was sure I saw the outline, not face, just hair and arms outstretched and I thought, for a second, that the "mommy" looked at me. Now, this could have been my imagination or my "want" that created this scenario, but I did see a "glow" in the shape of a woman. Guess I should have included that in my story. π Darn.
Seasoned-gifted ones? LOL Thank you for the compliment, but I think I'm more of a "learning as you go gifted one." But I do agree that there seems to be more awareness of the paranormal part of our world. I work in an office of 14 people. Out of those 14, half believe in "ghosts" and have had experiences. A couple are "on the fence" about it. And then there are the few who "ghosts don't exist and people are going to think you're crazier than you already are." There is even one who believes everything in my world associated with the "paranormal" is demon-related because of his heritage.
Someone asked me recently how ghosts know that I can see and hear them. I told them I think there must be something only they can see that sets "us" apart from those who cannot. It would be interesting if a group of us from here were together. I wonder if the activity would be increased?

Daz - you know I'll always be ready and willing to listen to your stories and theories. By then I might have forgotten them, so they'll be new to me every time I read them π. I get what you're saying about the chills associated with the spirits you encountered versus the feeling you felt when your mom hugged you. You and your mom share a bond, so the feeling of coldness (chills) was absent when you touched.
There was a time that I wondered if this little girl might have been the spirit of one I had lost. But this little girl was the ghost of a child whose life ended at the hands of someone else. This much I know in my heart. There is no physical proof. Actually there is no reason for me to believe it other than what I feel in my soul. When I saw the psychic, she asked me if I thought this was the spirit of a child of mine and I told her the thought had crossed my mind. She reassured me that none of the babies I'd lost were my "ghost children," which made me feel so much better. So this lost little girl, although she was someone else's baby, I think because of the emotional part of it maybe that's why I felt the "bond" with her and got the "fleece blanket feeling." Maybe. I guess that's something I won't know until the next time.
You always make me think, Daz π

James, its always a pleasure reading your thread too mate, I think you have a well rounded perspective on things and not only in the spiritual realm... In regards to increased activity or more openness to the activity, I think it has elevated in recent times and forums like this go a long way in finding the truth and gauging to what degree... There are all sorts of gadgets, real science investigators devises and forums, that will contribute us all to a better understanding of what happens after life.

Miracles - When you post a story I know I'm in for a flood of experience and insight. The goodness of your character has long been evident, and this particular story exemplifies it. I also wonder: Was it the girl or possibly the mother too thanking you?
I'd like to add, if I may, how terrific I find the conversations and revelations that spring amongst certain in our good community. I learn such breadth and scope from you seasoned gifted ones. I expect that many of us, even the newbies and youngsters, listen to what you have to say - and follow how carefully you discern and express yourselves. Thank you, Miracles, and all who write seriously about these dimensions opening up for us.
And is it my imagination, or has the incidence of reports risen exponentially? Is it simply that we have forums and TV shows? Are more people open to reception, and spirits know this and attempt to reach through the veil to us in a more palpable way? Could it be a signal of a greater phenomenon? Thanks again for the past, the now, and the future. ~ James

That's a nice thing to say Miracles and right back at you too mate...β€ you know when my children put me in a nursing home, I'm trading in my dentures for a lap top π I don't think the doctors alone could stand listening to all my stories and theories so hopefully you'll be putting up with me for a while yet Miracles...lol, getting back to your story I have been doing some thinking on it this morning and in regards to your smile less the cold chill during this time of separation and sending her into the light... I think I can offer you something based on my own experiences you may find interesting... Bear with me for going through some of them but hopefully it may make some sense to you when I do... Firstly I was thinking about the times I'd experienced some cold chills - spirits and the significants to them... I remember walking through an apparition some years ago... (yes silly idea I know) and I remember vividly the cold chills I felt as I crossed through this person when both our bodies met on impact... It was not like the chill you get in winter... There was something unique and I guess wrong associated to that experience and my reasons for doing so... Another time I remember when my ex girlfriends previous boyfriend who died in a car accident jumped into my body (no jokes please lol) and that too had a awkward intense chill feeling about it... And last August as well explained in some of my stories I walk into my kitchen one night to walk into something that was giving me the same types of chill feelings... Although at the timeI thought that may have been my mother, I'm think today it may have well been the women in black and keisha who were both murdered and looking for help...
Now!...here's the thing, when may mother came to me last May and spoke with me, she lent down on my bed and gave me a hug?...I don't recall any chills or feelings of discomfort... What I do remember is how calm and passive my mother and I was and the whole experience?...see where I'm heading... If you feel in your gut that this little girl is related to you in some way... Well I say that would make sense why you were smiling and not getting those predicted chills... Perhaps with mother and child those two are spiritual connected in a way less the chills if you know what I mean... I don't know if that's who you think this child is... But if it is then like with the two little boys the same thing may have happen to you Miracles...lol

[at] louslips mate that was so touching thanks for sharing π
I have personaly experianced the "family member" comming to help someone pass over but it did not go as I assume was expected.
3 years ago my partners mum betty had alzheimers and also cancer (she had brest cancer years before and beat it sadly it returned)
She was in her late 70s and her husband dennis was almost 80 so it was hard for him to cope with her the whole family helped out even myself but it became to hard for dennis and the doctors recomended betty go into care.
One night in september we receved a call from the home betty was in, she was having difficulty breathing and was in hospital, we rushed to collect dennis and went to the hospital, fearing the worst.
While dennis and pete (my partner) spoke to the doctors I sat on bettys bed held her hand and spoke to her, she was not realy answering me but making slight noises, sudenly she lifted her head opened her eyes wide and let go of my hand and raised hers a bit "not yet, not yet" she said to someone she could see over my shoulder, turning I saw nothing but I took her hand and said to her " that's all right betty if your not ready yet" she smiled at me and said "christmas" then fell asleep.
She improved over night, stayed in hospital for a few weeks but her alzheimers got worse very quickly after that we guessed she had given in to it and had stopped fighting.
We spent christmas day together the whole family around her bed in the home, even though she was out of it 95% of the time until her two granddaughters put on a tape of christmas carrols (betty loved christmas) she actualy started to sing along, I had to walk out after the 3rd song through crying.
She passed on dec 28th but she got her final family christmas like she wanted.
I never did tell anyone in petes family about that night in the hospital.

Lou - I think it's absolutely wonderful that your dad came to tell you goodbye when you couldn't be there with him, which leaves me with even more unanswered questions. Like how do our loved ones know where we are? How can they find us so darn quickly? Oh the things that boggle my mind sometimes. No wonder I don't sleep at night π.
In complete seriousness and sincerity, I hope you were able to keep a copy of that tape. Even if he isn't visible or audible on there, just to know he was there, with you for even a short time, during that investigation would be reason enough to hold onto it.
I cannot begin to imagine the emotions your mom must have felt when her classmate told her the story of your dad coming to walk with the woman's sister on her journey. Kinda makes me wonder how and why certain ones are chosen for that honor. Just more questions π. Hopefully one day I'll find out.

Miracles,
I have made my religious beliefs known in the past, so I do not feel the need to reiterate them again. But I truly know, that death is more of a beginning than an end.
I lost my dad in November of 2009. I had seen him the previous weekend and he was failing, pretty much incoherent from the cancer that was eating him alive and the chemo that destroyed his liver and elevated his calcium levels to the point where he rarely knew who was there with him. He was admitted to the hospital on a Monday and passed on a Saturday, when I was 500 miles away, and of all things, in the midst of an investigation.
My sister had called earlier and said that his breathing had changed slightly, but he was so strong that they thought he could last weeks. A friend of ours who is a minister showed up at the hospital and told him it was OK to go... And within an hour he did.
Before hearing back from my sister again, I was in the basement of a home that we were investigating, setting up a camera for the DVR system. I was in a typical basement, but immediately adjacent was a dirt floor crawl space where activity had been reported. My walkie-talkie wasn't working, so the person who was supposed to be directing me from the control station wasn't able to tell me where to point the camera, or if they were getting a good reception, etc.
I was getting frustrated because I could hear everyone upstairs joking and laughing, and no one was helping me, because they could not hear me calling on the walkie. So to try to get there attention, I was sticking my ugly mug in the camera hoping someone would see me and wonder what I was doing. I heard a very distinct laugh over my shoulder from the crawl space... At the time I did not really recognize it. We got a couple hours into the investigation when I checked out my phone and saw my sister had called. I called her back and got the news. I told the group and left for home.
In the mean time, one of the more sensitive members of my group had seen an apparition of a man when we were gathered together. She said that he paid particular interest to me. She had never met my dad, but later when we spoke, she described him perfectly.
Several months later, my mom went to her high school reunion. She saw a classmate she had not seen in a while and asked her how her sister was doing, she had heard that she was being treated for cancer. The woman's sister had passed, but she told my mom a story about her sister's final days. Her sister was in the same kind of shape my dad was at the end, she was in the hospital with no machines hooked up, and they were just waiting for her to go. She had not moved or spoke in days. The woman and her mother were in the room when suddenly her sister began to stir. This woman who had been incoherent for a week, opened her eyes, sat up, staired blankly into space and smiled, and said, "Oh,...Bob ------, is here." She laid back down, and slipped away. And as you guessed, Bob ------, was my dad. They had endured hours of chemo together and had known each other in high school... And he showed up to show her the way.

Lou - no psychic ability needed here, thought it might have been your idea π, so thank you, kind sir. That is a wonderful way to help ease their journey.
I've often wondered (here I am... Going to be late for work LOL) about those who die and know nothing of the afterlife. What is it like for them? Or those who die and don't know anyone who has gone on before them? Are they afraid? Hesitant? Is that why they linger here because we are the "known" and the afterlife is "unknown?"
My boyfriend's mom and sisters work in a nursing care facility and they have told me countless stories of residents, as well as staff, who have seen the Angel of Death, recognizable past loved ones, even previous residents who come to take a loved one home. There is one story about a "ghost couple" that is there every time someone is near death. Since my boyfriend's mom has seen them, I have no doubt as to the validity of this story.
Lou, you have become one of my favorites on this site. I enjoy our "conversations" and, at the risk of losing my internet privileges, can't help myself from sneaking a peak at YGS every day just to see what words of wisdom (**cough, cough) you have come up with.
Thank you for sharing your stories and for being here when I need your advice or have questions. Especially when the mood is right and the tone is light β€

Miracles,
I guess that was my idea. I never really shared with our group how it felt to me, or how it presented itself to me. We were not the light, we just showed it to them, we opened the door and to some degree, got them ready for it.
Some didn't seem to know it existed, others were afraid and resisted, some...didn't seem to know that there were people waiting for them... Which to me, is very sad.
My mother is in no way sensitive, but she used to work as a nurse in a facility for the elderly. Regardless of the conditions of the patients, the staff would always experience something paranormal, just before a patient died... Even if that death was unexpected... To the point that they could predict when they were going to lose someone... Even though they did not know which person it was going to be. She came to the conclusion that the activity was from the patient's deceased relatives who were there to help them and welcome them into the light.

Lou - there are times you leave me speechless with laughter and then there are times, like now, that I'm so touched I can't find the words to express how I feel.
I've been sitting here trying to figure out how to put into words what I want to say, other than a simple "thank you."
First, though, the image you and your group presented for the spirits is wonderful β€. I've always been afraid of the dark. I think I've mentioned a time or two that I have nightlights throughout my home. They're more for me than my kids. I'm not afraid of my ghosts. I'm afraid of the dark. Doesn't make sense, I know, but there it is. So the image of a nightlight is probably the best thing you could have done. You projected safety and security for them. That is truly inspiring and I would like to thank whoever thought of that idea and I will definitely use it when the time comes LOL.
Now, here's where words are going to fail me, Lou. How do I even...d*mn, Lou, just d*mn. Thank you... β€ When I can string more than two words together without tears blurring my vision, I'll tell you how much you've come to mean to me.

Javelina - let's see, this was 7 years ago, give or take a few months. It's amazing how far our world has come in opening their minds and eyes in that time. When this happened, I'd never seen a TV show on ghosts. Unless, of course, you count Hollywood (and I don't for the most part). I'd never talked to anyone who'd experienced anything like what I had. I had no one. Absolutely no one. Even the one psychic I talked to before this one never talked about crossing over or anything. No one in my area, social network π, whatever talked about this so I had no clue what to expect except what she told me.
So the cold chills are what I was expecting. Maybe that was the bottom of the ladder in expectations? Eh, who knows π. Anyway, lady, thank you and I don't have to tell you I adore you, do I? π

Daz - I was wondering how long it'd take you π Glad you were here on time for this one π because you hit it right on the head. It was closure that I needed. She kept calling for her mommy. I had to bring peace to both of us.
And you're right. It sounds so simple in words: you have a gift. You can use it to help them crossover. But in reality, there's so much more to it. There wasn't just me to consider. Dalton was a toddler and Jerrica wasn't even a teenager yet. The decision I faced ultimately affected their lives too. I don't regret "postponing" it. Maybe in a few years...
So happy to see you, Daz. I've missed you β€

Miracles,
(sigh) Not much to say. You did an amazing thing, not only for the girl, but for her family members that were waiting for her and those she will wait for herself.
This is going to sound pretty wierd, but when I used to participate with the group and help spirits to the light, I envisioned us as little night lights in a dark hallway, outside a bright room. We showed them a glimpse of what was to come, we made them feel comfortable as they stepped out of the darkness, and we took their hands and helped them across the threshold into the glory that awaited them.
I am honored that you felt my story inspired you to share this with us. I know you attribute your username to your kids... But darlin', you are ours.

Miracles, This is so very cool. Plus, I feel like I got the answer to the question that I keep forgetting to ask about.
When the psychic told you it would be like a cold chill, that didn't sound right to me. Maybe that's how it is for some but I have to believe that what you experienced was more to the truth than the other. Just my opinion.
What I love the most is that it was you that helped her cross because that completed the circle for you and her.
Thank you Miracles, you're aces in my book! β€

Well Miriacles, it looks like I'm here on time for this one, lol... And thank you for sharing it... Knowing you and knowing the heart you have, I can understand how important it was for you to have some closure in your life and for the little girl who has been with you for some time... I think she may have been frighten a little and felt safe around your presence and like with everything there is a time for all of us to move on and the fact that you were grinning with a smile and not experiencing cold chills just shows how in your heart you knew she was moving on to somewhere better... I think the cold chills normally associate when there not willing to let go and are clinging on...
I too believe you could help others but agree its more complicated then what people think and disconnecting yourself from inviting others may be a wiser choice... Thanks for sharing Miracles I think this site has plenty of room for stories like this one... π β€

otteer - thank you for your kind words. This little girl absolutely broke my heart. I've had other little girl ghosts since her, actually have one now, but I've never had one cry for her mommy like this one did.
I have to be completely honest here. I'm not sure if what I did was for her, or for me. Regardless, it was a beautiful experience and I am so happy I found someone to help me help her.

granny and BJJ - because you are two of my closest friends, I'm going to address you together, okay? Thank you very much for reading this and for commenting. Y'all know I how I feel about you and how much I've grown with your help and your ears to listen and the "no, you're not crazy" πspeeches. I've said it before, family isn't always those you are related to. You have given me strength in so many ways to realize potentials I wasn't even aware of. I treasure our friendships.β€
