Wow a lot of experiances! Just like my grandparents house, I believe there to be a doppelganger type entity there too, just finished a huuuge meal and I was in the scullery washing up when the voice of my grandmother shouted my name in my ear and there was nothing there. Keep the posts coming and let us know about your parents experiances 😁

Thank you so much for reading and for the positive feedback. I am truly glad you enjoyed my story. I agree about Doppelgangers, they are quite ominous. If I would have known when that happened that it was possibly a Doppelganger, I would have been incredibly paranoid. Maybe it was for the best that I didn't know that it was more than anything but disturbingly frightening.

PrettyInPain: I must say that I loved your story because of the different elements to it. Dopplegangers alone freak me out but just the whole old house atmosphere to your story was intriguing. Overall, it was a fantastic story, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the advice. I have only been lurking here for about a week, so I'm still learning. I do not consider that an excuse and I really do appreciate your advice. I can understand how the ending comment could be taken the wrong way. I noticed a lot of stories began with the truth claims, and maybe subconsciously I figured it was a change from what I've read. However, I really didn't think about what it would come across as based on the past, and I do appreciate you pointing it out. Thanks for reading and the advice!:)

I am looking forward to reading about the things your mum has experienced too.
This is very well written with plenty of information and background but can I just say the last comment you added~ "everything is 100% true and I would not waste my time or anyone else's if it were not"
To be honest would normaly get the flags going with me, I mean that there was no need to write that part as some of the stories that have ended like that on here before have turned out to be a pile of bull.
I AM NOT SAYING YOURS IS!
I do think yours it true but others like me have said before that a ending comment like that does get the mind working overtime.
Just a bit of advice hope you don't mind.

Thank you so very much for reading my story! Yes, I was definitely scared when I saw that white figure approaching me. The way it was swaying was really strange and really creeped me out even more. I certainly did not want to stand around and wait for it to approach me. 😲

I have always wondered why whatever entity it was thought it could imitate my mother. I was very intrigued to read others' experiences here, because I had not heard of a doppelganger previously. I know they are not supposed to be able to talk, which is curious since others have also experienced such entities talking. I still don't know what it wanted. Maybe it was just curious, but it went out of its way to wake me up, so maybe it did want to tell me something or something of the sort.

I do not live there anymore, but my parents still do. They did a LOT of remodeling in 2009, so I was worried the activity would get worse for them (since I have heard of such things happening during remodeling or rennovation). They said it was not worse but my mom still has experiences that are scarier than mine in my opinion. I wanted to write about her and my dad's experiences seperately because I did not want my recollections to be too long.

Not much has happened since I moved out about 6 years ago. The weirdest thing that did happen was in an apartment I rented with two friends. I was home alone, and someone knocked on my bedroom door (it was closed). I told them to come in, but no one answered. I investigated the apartment, but I was home alone.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and well written story! That white figure experience sounds really scary. I certainly wouldn't want anything like that waddling up to me. It's very interesting that something thought it could mimic your mother. I wonder what it wanted, what its intentions were. I take it you have moved out of that house. Have you had any other experiences elsewhere? Great theories at the beginning, by the way. That seems to be a common, yet hardly mentioned phenomena; spirits just wandering through.
