You know that is a good suggestion. Yes I am a descendant of the Hatfield clan. Now that is a very interesting thought! The ghost of a murdered McCoy coming back to haunt the Hatfields! I'm not joking either. The guy that my grandpa was talking to is a Hatfield also...

Funny that you found that link. I wrote that a few months ago! I stopped writing for that site when I found this one.

Mreaglesfan127,
Maybe it was a McCoy? You are descended from the Hatfield clan, are you not? I know the fued was for real. And no, I am not trying to make a joke here.

Mreaglesfan, you tell a great ghost story. I could actually feel my stomach tying itself into knots as I read it. Creepy indeed! I can believe anything these days.

By an AMAZING coincidence, there is a mention of a Picklebean Ballfork Creature listed in Urban Legends Online...

The writer of the story also mentions that Picklebean is an ancestor...

Well, if you visit this site often and see my story published (I titled it "Attack avoided"), I describe what it was like after an attack that I just barely managed to avoid before it happened.

It was probably my scariest experience ever, and sometimes I think about what could have happened if I didn't get out. >_<

But anyway, sorry for being off topic.

I know I would've been scared out of my wits if I'd seen a figure like that start to move towards me, and barrier or not, I would've run into the house. The fact that the entity disappeared right in front of your eyes would suggest that it couldn't care less about you knowing that it's an otherworldly entity.

That is a scary thought... One I'd rather not think about!

I'm skeptical about the cannibal family. If you lived in Pike County, KY then you would know people there like to exagerate things. But the spirit was 100% real.

That's too creepy...
I have a story submitted awaiting posting where I encountered something (s) malicious, and in that story as well as here I can't help but wonder what would have happened if that entity could have reached the human involved...

Yeah... It might not be so bad if you were to hang out at night whenever you feel like it. Just... Don't go to the hollow. To me, it seems like the spirit can't venture beyond it. I'd probably be careful with the spirit nonetheless, because you mentioned the cannibal family that lived there... It could easily end up being a hostile anomoly.

It appears that some spirits do have a limit on how far they can go and some sort of invisible barrier that they can't cross.

Yeah I know! Now people just don't go outside at night, or at least not alone.

I believe your explination is a good one. Thank goodness you were far enough away for it to not have come any closer.
