Here it is in a nut shell...

Baal: According to Christian Demonology, Baal was ranked as the first and principal king in Hell, ruling over the East. According to some authors Baal is a Duke, with sixty-six legions of demons under his command.

Baal Berith: according to Christian Demonology was the chief secretary of Hell, head of its public archives, and the demon who tempted men to blasphemy and murder.

So they are not the same 'entity'...

Baal is kind of like a Title, like Lord, Duke, King... So for Baal to be called by that single Title speaks 'loads' about his Power...'Lord Berith' is an archivist and tempter... Not as strong nor as High Ranking as Baal himself.

Thank you for reading, this was part of my 'learning curve' when it comes to some types of 'Spirits/Entities' and why I am so very 'picky' when it comes to individuals using the 'd' word when it comes to 'naming' what may be causing the noises in their homes.

It was nice to have a 'Guide' at that time... To be clear Paula's Mother made sure we took responsibility for our actions, but she also gave us understanding and Guidance when we needed it... Heck I've called her Mom sense then.

Oh, Rook - I had to have a bit of a cry after reading this. Not for the grown you, but for the boy you were when this happened. Knowing that the thoughts you had were not your own, had to be even scarier. At least Paula's Mom was there to help guide you in what had to be done to free yourself, otherwise - who knows?

The Jinn are not 'Demons'. As I have recently learned they are individual 'spirits' consisting of 'smokeless fire' and each has their own free will, just as we as Humans do. They are not DEMONS.

I do believe in Jesus... And not only Him, but in His Father as well. So much so I hold the Priesthood in my chosen Church. You could go so far as to say I'm 'Born Again' as before I Joined this Church I was a practicing Witch.

I agree, they are not a toy and if used properly they can work with no 'ill' consequences. I do not like the 'mass produced' version you can find on toy aisles, nor the 'we drew some letters on a piece of paper' type. It takes more than that to create a 'safe' spirit board.

You know what bothers me, no one who talks about "Ouija boards", ever talk about the sun and the moon that is located at the top of the board. The sun and the moon mean something. I know most kids who get them don't think about it or care. I have used one my self. I call them "Spirit boards".You can buy the brand name"Ouija board" or you can make them you self easily. I do not recommend anyone to just make one and use it, do your home work on how to protect your self from unwanted mischief. Always ask if they are from the sun or the moon.That's my two cent's on "Spirit boards".I enjoyed you story rook, I just feel it is not a toy, but can be used safely.

To be completely honest with you, NO I would not use one, not for any reason. There are other ways to communicate with the Spirit Realm so I feel this method is not needed. Thanks for asking.

Really liked that story it was very intense! Just wondering as you seem to know a lot about them now and all the precautions to take, would you use a ouija again for any purpose?

I still just find stories like this amazing. I used to play (yes I will use the word play) with a Ouija board when I was a kid, totally ignorant and vulnerable. Nothing ever happened. I'm not sure really why it happens to some and not others. Perhaps I never believed anything would actually happen and therefore it didn't? I'm not sure.
One thing for sure though, you're lucky you wrote that down in a journal years ago as a kid as opposed to today as a kid. Can you imagine if anyone had found a journal today that says that stuff? That entry on October 13th would have authorities at your door in minutes!

After two days of reading all of your stories, I have finally reached this story!

First word that came to mind was Yikes!

I don't know if I could have handled it like you did, especially at that age. But hats off to you for going though that and getting rid of the demon. Like I say, what doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger. You are more wise now and at point in your life where you know better and also at a point where you are able to help a person in trouble.

Also, hats off to Paula's mother for taking the necessary steps to insure that you and Paula took care of the problem. Also, for believing you. I know you are going to say that the women on Paula's side of the family are Wiccan BUT religion doesn't matter in this case. Many adults don't or don't want to believe that their kids are going to problems let alone problems with the paranormal. I think many times it scares them more than us!

Ah yes you actually know what post i'm speaking of, perfect and I'll be adding this to a save file on this comp. I sent you an email with more details as to what is going on with an event in my life right now... Not sure what to do really it's nothing supernatural just a friend trying to be asinine.

This was posted earlier on another of my experiences... Is this what you are talking about?

1st: Ouija is NOT a GAME! Do not treat it as such, nor sit down to use one with an individual who treats it that way. Likewise do not use it with anyone who deliberately wishes to contact 'a demon' or any negative type entity.

2nd: Clear the Board, this can be done any number of ways. Some people repeatedly move the planchette (pointer) back and forth between the yes and the no until it 'feels clean'. I personally have a 1x1 (1 foot by 1 foot) Silver Silk Handkerchief that I use to wipe of the board. As I do so I concentrate my thoughts on 'wiping' the board clean of any negative energies that may be attached to it. I then exit the room and shake the handkerchief off outside the house.

3rd: (Applies only if using candles) Place 2 or 4 candles (or more in EVEN number increments) around the board. Color's represent different things, choose ones that represent Purity, Protection, Safety...ect.

(Here are some good options: Light Blue: Harmony in the Home, Healing, Psychic Awareness and Safe Journey. Brown: Earth, Concentration, Overcoming Uncertainty, Steadiness. White: Grounding, Protection, Purification, Purity, Spirituality.

Point is choose colors that will help draw in positive energy / protect you as you use the board.

4th: Cleans and Shield yourself and the others using hte board with you. NEVER USE THE BOARD ALONE!

5th: Open the session with a 'Blessing or Prayer' for Protection (Blessing for you Wiccan / Non-Christian Types and a Prayer for the Christians who wish to 'tempt fate').

6th: BE RESPECTFUL of any Spirits you may contact. Do not treat them as a 'know it all' answering machine... Ask them their name, ask them their age... Keep in mind that if a spirit says they are 8/9/10 years old that is how long they have been separated from their physical body... Not the age when they crossed over. Ask them how old they were when they crossed over. If answered this will let you know if you are communicating with an adult/teen/child. After 'getting to know' whom you've contacted then begin asking your questions... Again do not 'play around' and ask silly questions, be respectful and serious. Do not let the Board 'tell you things' without asking any questions... There is a good chance this is a Malevolent Spirit trying to show off (See Step 7).

7th: Close the Board. When you are done, or you feel something 'negative' may have made contact with you tell the spirit Goodbye and move the planchette (pointer) to the word Goodbye. You my feel a 'good spirit' moving it that way anyway... Resistance is an indication of something not so nice attempting to communicate. Once the session is closed again 'Clear the Board' again with however you have decided to 'Clear' your board.

8th: DO NOT USE THE BOARD ALL THE TIME... Even with all these precautions we are HUMAN and can be mislead or make a mistake. Again this is not a 'PARTY GAME' nor a way to 'SHOW OFF' to your friends.

Please ask any questions you may have... These are very basic 'rules'.

Well Rook i've seen quite a few of your blogs... And or posts on this site and I will say i'm impressed with someone such as yourself. Now the real reason that I decided to comment on this is maybe you should post the right way to use said Ouija board, so less of these things occur.

First I'd like to thank everyone for their comments. This was a 'life changing' experience to be sure but I am noticing a trend in some of the comments concerning the Ouija Board.

It is not the Board itself that attracts negative entities... It is HOW IT IS USED...

The fact it is has become a 'mass produced' GAME that includes a bear minimum for instructions... And none of them include any 'shields' or 'guides' on how to contact 'positive spirits'. All they say is basically this...

'Place your fingers lightly on the Planchette (pointer) and ask questions like... Is there a spirit in the room that wishes to speak with us...'

Yes the people 'PLAYING' have focused their energy on 'opening a connection' with the spirit world... Yes this connection can open... But absolutely ANYTHING can respond to the 'call' being put forth...

Here's the rub... Most people using a Board for the first time are treating it like a GAME... It was bought in a toy store or in the toy department at 'Wal-get' and they sit down and treat it like a GAME.

Contacting Spirits is not a GAME... If treated as such then bad things are bound to happen.

We must also consider that 'bad news' or 'other peoples misfortune' make for better stories and these are the ones that get re-told...over and over again.

If the Ouija Broad is treated like the TOOL that it is and the rules for using it are followed then it can work as advertised, with no 'ill effects'.

I'm so sorry you had to go through all this and at such a young age. Good thing is that you fought and beat it. I can't imagine how scary it must have been for you.

On another note. Maybe you putting your story out there and writing it so well, with such detail will stop others from using a Ouija board. I also used one as a teen but got lucky compared to most and didn't contact anyone.

Thanks for sharing your story I really enjoyed reading it and I'm adding it to my favourites... I have read the comments and Miracles has touched on the first thing that went through my mind (I have a feeling I'll be pondering on this for the rest of the day)... How many people have faced capital punishment or sit for years on end in a 6x4 cell for crimes and atrocities that have been caused by demonic forces... I mean you can't prove it in a court of law can you? I know there's bad and evil on earth but I don't believe anyone is born this way obviously something happens along the way but how many times is that something of a paranormal nature... 😢

Rook: Ooh ok, I understand better now. Thank you for breaking it down. It is very shocking that you got a 'name' for the entity. I think God brought the name to you and Paula when you saw the entity, and then Paula's Mother helps kick this demon out. That's a pretty good tag team. You also said you found out your spirit name, that's cool! Great experience bro, i'm sure you learned a lot from it.

Well Rook, we learn it the hard way ain't it? I am not so experienced as you but to be frank, I feel that the Ouija session would have had its effect and I have done it many times in the past in my comments through this site that, Ouija sessions, generally, open up a gateway from the other side to enter our realm. Many persons have experienced bad encounters soon after the Ouija sessions. Personally and after reading your elaborate account, I feel that, all of us learn lessons after the event and start advising others to be wise before the event. Great narration and thanks for sharing. I hope the advise from Paula's mother had come as a boon to both of you. I can understand what you must have undergone during the period of your ritual. Its a good thing that after this experience, you started perfecting your cleansing method and helping others also. Truly divine and great. Keep up the good work.

I held off from reading this one until tonight. I wanted to do this when it was quiet around here because I had a feeling it was going to be a tough one to get through.
I was right.
Three good things came out of this experience, I'm sure, to you, there are more. Here are the three immediate ones for me:
1) Lesson learned. That's all that needs to be said here.
2) Your compassion for others was something I believe you were born with, but this experience gave you something to fall back back on in times of confusion.
3) Rooks Recipe was born!

It scares me to think of what you went through over that weekend. Thank God you had Paula and her mother to help get you through this. Anything else I have to say will be done privately.

The confusion may come from Baal (Baʿal) being a title meaning "lord" that was applied to a number of West Semitic gods.

What is shocking is we received a 'name' at all... I still count my blessings that Paula's Mother helped us develop ritual that allowed us to do so.

This story should turn away anybody that wants to use an ouija board. I was shocked to see that 'Baal' was after you. That is no little puppy. I'm glad that everything is better for you now. A lot of people can't say the same after being oppressed by demons. Thank you for sharing.

I know for a fact that the night of the birthday party the board was closed properly... (please read this experience for details:

The board in that experience is the same one as in this one. Paula may have rushed closing the 'session' she had opened before I knocked on her door... I know she closed it properly after everything had fallen, I know this because I saw what she did. I think this 'entity' was lurking before that and somewhere along the line I opened myself up way to much, purhaps during the session the night of the birthday party, It found it's way in... And attached to me... It then proceeded to Oppress me. As far as what I mean by that...here's a definition...

Oppression: 1. The act of subjugating by cruelty, force, etc or the state of being subjugated in this way 2. The condition of being afflicted or tormented 3. The condition of having something lying heavily on one's mind, imagination, etc.

By doing this this 'entity' sought to weaken me to the point that I could be Possessed.

First of all I enjoyed this story. Very scary and really makes you think about the very real and scary side of the paranormal.

Firstly (and I apologise if this is an obvious and silly question) but what is 'opression'? I understand it to be a feeling one gets when something has an 'opressive feel to it' but is this what you are referring to?

Secondly is there a chance that Paula did not close the ouija board session fully when you visited that day and that is why this negative energy chose you? Were you simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and were unlucky enough to have this energy focused on you?

I understand this must have been an extremley traumatic and personal experience for you and I completely understand if you don't want to eleborate any further, I admire you for publishing this story thankyou!

Based on research done into the name we were given (Baal Berith) I learned that it was a Hebrew 'Demon'...A...

Let me do this the easy way...

From the Bible Dictionary:

"Baal-berith definition

covenant lord, the name of the god worshipped in Shechem after the death of Gideon (Judg. 8:33; 9:4). In 9:46 he is called simply "the god Berith." The name denotes the god of the covenant into which the Israelites entered with the Canaanites, contrary to the command of Jehovah (Ex. 34:12), when they began to fall away to the worship of idols."

Baalberith was the chief secretary of Hell, head of its public archives, and the demon who tempted men to blasphemy and murder.

The fact that the name both Paula and I 'Received' is mentioned in both Old Testament Scripture (Hebrew Lore) and in Christian Demonology made me realize that there was 'something' to both those Religions... And those Religions despite their differences Worship the same God. This Fact led to much research into different Religions... Which led to noticing most have more in common than they truly differ... Which led to an interesting view of 'Creation' and where spirits/entities come from... What the afterlife is comprised of and what I feel is how it all works. Then nearly 21 years ago I met a woman who took me to her Church, one I hadn't researched much, and I was confronted with the majority of my personal belief's in an organized Christian Church (I think I was pretty clear which Church that is not so long ago 😉).

From there, after a bit more research and some soul searching on my part I became a member of this Church.

I'm being kind of vague on purpose as this is not a Religious site...Let's just say I believe in Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit... But I cannot forget (nor do I think He would let me) the other things I learned about...

So now I try and use what knowledge I have to try and help people at least understand what they may be experiencing.

Firstly I am glad that you were able to remove that dirty oppresion that was put on to you Rook, as Marjie mentioned being that age is difficult enough without having to deal with all that.
That is great that you until this day have your shield up consistently, what followed after this account spiritual wise? I know that you followed the Wiccan path for a while am I correct?
As you mentioned a huge differance between the oppression and possession, with possession no doubt having you act out those thoughts instead. Thanks for sharing this with us Rook very interesting indeed.

Hi dear rook I love reading this story, its going in favourite ❤ I enjoyed reading it...
I have also face this sort of experiance I was stuck in "BLACK MAGIC" and fight four years of HELL...
This change my life, I learned that even close family members of family are more dangerous than enemy... The black magic was done by my family member/relative...

Paula's Family... Mostly on her mothers side were... For lack of a better word...Wiccan's. There is some American Indian on her mothers side of the Family as well as some Hispanic and German... What I know for sure is that as far back as her maternal Great Great Grandmother they had practiced 'witch-craft'...and as I mentioned in that first experience they were kind of Dark.

As far as 'fighting' the urges at that age... I knew the thoughts were not mine... Had Paula and her Mother not 'leaned' towards the 'spirit world' and an Oppression then I was ready to ask my Mother to take me to a Doctor... From there a 'head shrink' but this was back in 1983/1984 can you imagine the 'drugs' and therapy that may have been recommended or prescribed?

All that would have been for 'naught' from what I know now and based on what I have learned and learned during this experience 'treatment' would not have helped me... Though without the incident during the birthday party and then the Planchette (pointer) tapping the door I think seeing a Doc would have been the 'first line' of treatment that should have been pursued.

We have to be so careful when it comes to things like this. The line between 'mental illness' and 'Entity' Oppression/Possession is so, so very fine... But the 'natural causes' must be ruled out. I my case my Journal and events leading up to the week-end we did this help establish it wasn't just in my head. It's also one of the reasons I ask for so many details when trying to help people.

Rook - lots of thoughts going through my mind and I probably should take the time to sort them out before commenting, but one thing I want to say before I take a step back is this: to have had to deal with this at 15 is more than anyone should ever have to, but... I think the reason you did is so you are able to share your experience (s) and knowledge with others.

Guess I'm going to give the other thoughts their voice after all 😉. Too many people (age doesn't matter) would have bowed to that oppression and become the serial killer they were being driven to become. To have those visions haunt you, day in-day out, could cause someone to do something they would never do under different circumstances.

How did Paula's mom know what to do? I think right now that's the only question I have. The comment is, Thank God she did. ❤
