Take heart, wolf-mitchum. We are not all young. I'm a senior too, though I can't believe it. 61 years old and counting. I can honestly say that my mind and body feel as if I was in my 20's though I can't run as far. You had a very interesting story to tell and I'm glad you did. There is a lot we do not know and the telling of these stories may one day be helpful in putting the puzzle together.

Believe me when I say that we would never be disrespectful towards a poster, moreover a senior adult.
You must also know that the world is not as straight forward as we would like it to be.
YGS is a forum for people to share their genuine experiences of what they might suspect to be paranormal, yet there have been numerous cases since the inception of this site of fabrication and plagiarism.

We try to find what we think as inconsistencies in the story/narrative,and then debunk the story holding that inconsistency as a proof. Sometimes we make a charade out of it just for fun. It is a trial and error method, and is in no way foolproof.

I am only explaining this to you on behalf of my friends and myself out of respect for a senior citizen. We do not hold any personal enmity against you, why would we!

OK,one more comment on the subject of ghosts, the ghost in the web cam was not my first experience with the after world (and I am probably going to REALLY get the old B/S blankie remark on this one) I have had numerous experiences where deceased friends have spoken to me from beyond the grave, granted it was in dreams, but still they bought me messages, for instance a friend told me once the order in which my Sister and my Mother would die, not the circumstances of their deaths, just the order in which the deaths would occur, also my Dad once told me of an unexpected monetary windfall that I would receive of which did occur, so no... That was not my first experience, it just happened while I was awake, that's why I was not frightened by the young lady in the cam.
So for all you skeptics out there, well as far as I am conserned, the wind is up, and kite flying would be a great pass time for ya. LOL LOL and LOL.

Oh and by the way, just so you will know, that young lady lived in Gulf Breeze Fl, on the day of her accident she did not wear her helmet and from what Mr. Moore told me the accident happened on the "only hill in Gulf Breeze"it seems her boy friend was the skate boader and not Miss Moore.
As for the changing inscription on the head stone, if you believe in the appearence of a ghost from another realm, then I am sure that the matter of the changing inscription shouldent be much of a challenge for some one who can come back from beyond the grave.
I did not question Mr. Moore too closely on her death, He volunteered that information, and he always cried when he spoke of her, and I could not offer him any relief from his grief so I mostly kept my mouth shut and listened, from what I was told of the accident the young lady was taken to the hospital in Gulf Breeze where she lingered in a coma for several hours and then died there.

OK,I am 72 but I sort of resent the O/P remarks and the "nice warm B/S blankie remark and the "dream bus remark was just totally uncalled for. If you need any more info on that tragic little girl you can contact Miss Jan Moore her Aunt, she lives on Hamilton, Pleasentgrove road in Pine Mountain Ga, I am assuming that some of you bright "YOUNG" people might have the intelligence to look that info up on a computer, also the young lady in question is buried at sunny side methodist church on Whitesville road which "aint" too hard to find either. Actually if I remember correctly the lady I was chatting with happened to be a paranormal investigator "or so she told me at the time" and no I don't recall whether or not she saw the apparition in her cam, although I do recall that I did mention it to her, and don't ask me her name either because I don't recall what her name was, after all, I am 72 years old.
One thing I can do however is to assure all of you young whippersnappers that the story I posted is true to the best of my knowledge.

I have not broken out the Bus for this one, for a couple of reasons.

When I first read this, I went back and read it a second time... My first impression stood... Perhaps the O/P did see an apparition in the web cam... But the inscription... If the wrong inscription had been carved on to the Stone... And it was replaced with the correct one, Well that would explain the difference in the inscriptions... Including the addition of the carved animals...

That was my first impression concerning the headstone described by the O/P.

As for me I don't think it's very 'unlikely' for a senior adult to use webcams 10 years ago, cause as far as I can remember, installed webcams were used that time too, for chat in yahoo messenger,googletalk,rediffbol etc. The O/p has also mentioned in the beginning as the incident taking place 'About' 10 years ago and not exactly 10 years ago, so that could be less than 10 years ago as well!

Wolf-mitchum: It's really weird how the written inscriptions changed! After that finding, did you ever talked to/asked the old landlord about what 'really' were the words etched on that girl's tomb? May be he can throw some light into the matter of 'changing' words (in case). And like others, I am also curious to know whether during that particular chat session, the lady you were chatting to that day, also noticed anything on your 'side'? That could be another insight to the incident of the girl 'watching over you' (literally)! Would be happy if you could answer these questions.

I don't know quite why, but I am having a hard time with this tale... I just think it's very odd for a headstone to have an inscription that is more directed to the reader, instead of being a memorial to the person (especially such a young person)...a tragic skateboard accident, especially for a female, is unusual indeed - not that it couldn't happen, of course. (Just as perceived inscriptions on a headstone could change, I guess?) Did the woman you were talking to comment on the ghostly image that showed while you were web-chatting? A full 10 years ago, web-chatting with cameras was much harder than it is today, with slower connections...especially, I would imagine, way out in an isolated cabin. You are listed as a senior adult in the descriptor, so to be web-camming 10yrs ago, you must be much more tech-savvy than the seniors I know! Skype was first released 3 years ago in 2011 by Microsoft, although it was developed in Estonia before that. Not saying you couldn't find other platforms, but it would have been more difficult. Again, I apologize for being such a skeptic - if this story is the truth, some more detail on these points may help clear some of these things up? 😕.

I'm just pondering if it might just be more polite for me to offer, for your riding comfort, a nice warm B.S. Blankie for your trip on the magic bus...? All of these story happenings are Possible... But put all together, I just see them as very Unlikely... However, please don't take this personally, because of course I could be totally wrong. I wonder if Rook will be bringing the Ol' Bus 'round? 😊
