Very bizarre story. Raises the question was it best that you wasn't able to answer the caller or not? 😨

😆 I remember hard wired phones. AND party lines LOL! What a trip. There was a way to unscrew the mouthpiece on the handset so we would remove the mic and listen in to the old biddies at the end of the street without them hearing us laugh 😆. Which brings me to my point. When we would call someone on the line, the ringer would act just as you described it. After you dialed the code in you had to hang up and both phones would ring at the same time.

Yeah, wonder if the ghosties in the first floor apartment were calling? 😆

Fascinating story! Who was calling and who were they trying to reach. It's almost as though the box was some sort of portal from one dimension to another. I love this story, Val!
