Mine's back too. Crazy.
I can't stress to the new readers how much I'm not and have never been someone into the supernatural. I honestly didn't fully believe it. I never thought enough about it to fully believe or not believe. But I'd lean toward not believing since I grew up in a Christian household where this stuff is forbidden. It was only recently in the past couple of years that my mother and I talked about it and she's had the same experiences as me though not as strong and not as often.

Anyway, yeah it's back. Not that it ever left but now it's full force. I get a lot of the mattress depressing and not only do I feel the mattress but I can hear the springs popping. So this thing has some weight. It's the most active when I'm awake in the morning. I like to lay in bed 30 minutes before I get up so I set my alarm earlier. It's like it knows because once I'm up it doesn't leave me alone. I've also felt a lot more of the "cat ghost" jumping on the bed and walking around. The other night laying in bed watching tv I felt a hand on my shoulder. I've started keeping my phone next to me so I can email myself to be sure I'm awake. So I emailed "hand on my shoulder 11:33" and the next day my email was there.
People will insist that you are dreaming or in a dream state but we all know you can't text or email yourself if you aren't awake. So while that hand was on my shoulder I managed to email. I'm awake for sure.

Will we ever find out what this is? I can find lots of stories of people having similar experiences. But the spiritual/metaphysical experts will say that it's either your spirit guide or higher self or both. With my Christian upbringing it's very hard for me to grasp spirit guides or higher self. I know the general idea of what they are but it just doesn't make sense. But then nothing of what happens to me makes sense!

As for the portal... I read this a while back and I've found it to be true. The portal is you. Rich and I are the portals. Which means the spirit, whatever it is, is attached to us. I always feel a rumbling by my feet and I know now that the portal is opening. But I can go on vacation and feel the same thing.
Our house is on the market right now and we will be moving closer into the city. So far this thing has followed me from our last rental and into this house. I'm anxious to see if when we sell this house and move if it will still be around. I'm thinking it will.

summerafternoon12: Mine's definitely back now in full strength. It has been for a couple weeks now. I wanted to tell you that I saw it recently in three different ways. This all happened just this past week.

I was sitting in my computer room which overlooks the central hallway. The door was open. In my peripheral vision I saw a pitch black shadow with glowing red eyes. It was at the doorway looking at me. It was moving a little which caught my attention. When I looked right at it, it disappeared.

This has happened several times. I was in bed trying to fall asleep. My eyes were closed, and I felt the ghost at the back of the bed. I started "seeing" with my forehead. I saw the ghost as a shapeless black cloud gliding across the bed, moving nearer and nearer to me. What I was seeing was corresponding to the movement I was feeling on the bed. It got closer and closer to me, then consumed me as usual. I don't know how this is possible to see this way, but it's been happening frequently. I wonder if this is the "third eye" that I've heard about?

The third way I saw it was in a dream. We usually dream together, but I never see it in my dreams - just feel it around. We usually fight, and I always lose. Not this time though! I finally could hold my own. I didn't win, but I didn't lose either. After our fight, I saw her for the first time in my dreams. She was transparent and glowing blue and white. She was either Asian or Native American, middle-aged, with long black stringy hair. She was wearing some type of patchwork gown that looked like a very ancient design. I hope this was for real and not my imagination. It was so vivid though.

Tweed: The portal theory is interesting, and I'll keep it in mind. There have only been three occasions where those particular doors have been opened. I would also expect other spirits to come through the portal. As far as I know, there has been only this one. There is other stuff that gets moved in the house. For example, it will pull the cushions off the couch, and it seems to like to hide my soap behind the trash can. This was before I started taking pictures though.

Wow what a read! I have just read all this from the beginning and it's the 1st story to go in my favs!

Guys all I can say to you both is that I think you are well braver than I would ever be. I don't kno what this is and I'm sorry I can't help but I hope you both manage to get some peace back into your lives soon.

May the light be with you. Xxxx

Hmm, seems to really love that cupboard doesn't it.

This is a bit out of my depth here but I've heard of portals existing in homes. You may want to look into this. Maybe this cupboard acts as some kind of 'gateway' for it between this realm and another.
I really have no idea, just throwing it out there in case there's anything to it.
There's definitely something attracting it to that cupboard.

I woke up and found three cabinet doors opened. I keep towels, pillows, and blankets in the upper cabinet, and home repair supplies in the lower. This photo was taken on Wednesday night, May 6:

Whoops, thanks for replying back so quick. 😊 I'm sorry I didn't see your comment sooner.

The high fives are very amusing.
I'm intrigued by its interest in the cabinets and placing a bath mat on you. Wonder if it was looking for extra blankets in that cabinet then one day decided to go with the bath mat instead. Maybe there's something about your body temperature it wants to regulate.
Perhaps it doesn't want to use the quilt your mother made for you out of respect.
Did you high five the ghost after waking up with the bath mat? If so did you feel it any stronger than usual?

On an unrelated note that chair is freakin awesome!

Hi Tweed. Yes, this post has gone on far longer than I thought it would. It must be quite a read for someone starting from the beginning, so I understand your "fog" completely. Since my experiences are ongoing, I'll just keep posting details of them here as sort of a log. Even if I don't get this figured out, it may help someone else going through the same thing.

That's good thinking about the K2 meter. I did some testing and have a good idea about the strength of household appliances. You need to be practically on top of them to get a reading. It is possible that the electric field of the house is interfering the ghost's ability to send signals to the meter. The only way to know for sure is to turn off power to the house.

Although I think the ghost is messing with me, it could be possible that the ghost has trouble forming the energy to send to the meter in a coherent or timely fashion. The reason I suggest that is that just about every day after we wake up, I ask the ghost to give me a high-five. I'll say, "hey Buddy, give me a high-five!". Most of the time I get nothing, but on rare occassions I'll get my high-five in the form of a strong tap in the center of outstretched palm. I'm thinking that a lot of the times, it just can't form the energy to do so.

I'm open to this being a demon. I'm not religious, so my understanding of angels and demons is very limited. From my reading I've gathered that a demon is a spirit that is close to the earth plane, and an angel is a spirit close to the celestial plane, and that there are good and bad demons and angels. I have a lot more to learn on this subject.

Thanks for your input on this very old post.

I started taking photos of all the stuff that gets moved around. Here's one from the other day. It opened two cabinet doors in the hallway while I was asleep. One contains a quilt my mother made for me before she died. It has opened this cabinet before:

Here's one where when I woke up a mat from the bathroom was on top of me. You can see an orb in the picture:

Hello Rich,

I find your story fascinating and it's gone to my faves. 😊

Please forgive me for my mind is a fog with information overload. (Just read your story and the comments.)

I've never used any such ghost hunting meter so can't speak from experience. But I have heard that they can be tricked by house wiring and household appliances. May I suggest doing a reading of your house, using the meter, to find your home's electrical hot spots. Then, find a place in a room which is least likely to give a false reading and try to talk to your friend there.
I know your ghost has no problem interacting with the meter, but even so the ghost may be having trouble using the meter to give honest answers because it's in an electrical hotspot. Perhaps your fan is making it difficult.
Or your ghost could just be messing with you, as this appears very likely too.

Anyway, just wanted to make that suggestion.

While reading your story and the information you gave in the comments I got the impression this is a demon. Even though it answered "No" to that question. If not a demon, then something of this ilk.
I don't wish to frighten you (I get the impression you're not easily scared anyway and that's why I'm typing this.) But as you mentioned you've had trouble finding answers and people to open up to about this I'd like to make a suggestion. Though it is highly controversial, especially in America.
You mentioned a blue mist/fog/light/shadow (sorry my mind's gone foggy remember?) Anyway you mentioned the colour blue. This is sometimes associated with demon (or the like) activity.
I believe, though not outwardly and openly in public, that demons and the like aren't all bad. They are temperamental, protective, can be overly sensitive. All this can lead to some nasty experiences. I strongly feel that communication and well set boundaries are the key to your relationship with this entity (whatever it is).
You have been very wise and successful in setting clear boundaries thus far and I'm very impressed by your actions and attitude.

This odd sleeping behaviour has clearly had a positive impact on your physical health in the past. I'm very moved by your story and do hope that you continue to keep us updated on your progress.

Take care.

oops I mean May will be 3 years. It started heavily in May of 2012. I've actually started keeping a journal and just a few times a month writing down what happens. It can't hurt to see if there is any kind of pattern going on.

Sooo weird! YES I know what you mean! I know it's there. It's still around. But the feelings are fainter.
Maybe it is a cycle. I kind of miss it though. As much as it was annoying me before, I miss it when it's gone. *smacks head* I was a normal person before all this started happening, lol. For me, May will be 4 years that it started full force.

Because it's not around as much I guess I've started falling asleep with my arm stretched out. And I have woken up to what feels like something holding my hand. And I'll still feel the light vibrations. Just everything less intense.

I so wish I could find a person who could say, "Oh yeah, this is what's happening" and then tell me exactly what it is. Keep posting here every so often and keep me updated. 😁

Mine sort of disappeared too. I say "sort of" because I know that it's still there, but it's just very, very faint. I have to strain to feel anything. I remember that this also happened exactly a year ago, so I'm starting to wonder if it's some sort of annual cycle? I have a feeling that you're going through the same type of thing, and that these things will be back in full-force within a month or two.

Wow I haven't check in in a while. How is everything going for you, Rich?

I've had the usual but during the month of February it was all heightened a bit. Whatever this thing is was holding my hands a lot. It was almost like a parent holding a child's hand. It was in a very sweet way. It was almost getting a little scary because it was so real. Then the past couple of weeks I haven't felt much. This is the first time in 3 years that it's been such a long stretch without any activity. Usually it's maybe a night or two. I'm not sure if this thing is gone and done with me or if it's on a break.
What's crazy is I don't know if I should feel free or if I miss it! I almost miss it.
Have you tried your machine for detecting energy again? I was thinking of getting one now to see if maybe this thing is still around but just not bothering me or is just not here at all.

summerafternoon12: To answer your question, no, I don't feel a heavy weight on the bed. I would say mine feels like an invisible basketball rolling on the bed, but maybe a little bit lighter. It then stretches out to my length, but there's some lingering waves that travel back and forth across the bed even though it is mostly still. I sleep in a semi-fetal position with my hands near my face. As the ghost mimics my position, I feel a jumble of arms and hands moving in front of my face. This is when I hear the mattress springs. It's almost like it's pushing down on the mattress to help roll itself over, much like I would.

The ghost has been feeling very solid the last couple of months. This is going to sound really weird, but the worst part of the joining process is its thigh bones (femurs). Yes, it has femurs. They're very dense, and they cause me a lot of discomfort as they go through my own. The ghost knows this and slows that part of the process down. That only increases my discomfort because it takes so much longer.

Let me ask you a question. When you roll over in bed, what does your ghost do? I always start to sleep on my left side. This is what the ghost is most comfortable with. When I roll over, it just goes nuts. It will go back to ball form and start rolling all over the bed, flying over me, and wedging itself between me and the bed to get me to roll back over. I can sense its agitation (or panic?). It will also do this if I bend my legs too much or stick my arms out too far. I'll ask it, "what's wrong?" I'll then feel a sharp tap on each of the offending limbs. The taps feel like being zapped by a door knob but without the pain. This goes on every day when I roll over, and I'm really tired of it. The ghost has been getting extremely aggressive lately, and that has me worried.

I did a K2 session earlier this week. I asked the ghost if it could answer some more questions. I got no response. I asked it to max the meter out into the red. If you recall, it only got into the yellow my first time. The meter scale isn't linear; it's logarithmic. It takes eight times the power to get it into the red as it does into the yellow. The meter went into the red! It kept doing this, over and over again. I think the ghost was either having fun or messing with me. It answered every question with a yes, even contradictory ones. I gave up and got mad at the ghost. As a result, I had a really bad night terror that day.

I've improved my ability to keep it away. Yesterday I was able to push its head out of mine. I simply used the telekinetic power on it. It requires a lot of concentration, so I couldn't keep it out too long. Today however, I applied the telekinetic power down the length of my body to push away anything that got near it. I was basically using the ghost's power against itself. I had it completely confined to the rear corner of the bed. My concentration would wane, and I could feel it creep back forward, so I stepped it up and kept pushing. I continued this indefinitely, even as I was drifting off to sleep. It kept trying, and I would keep pushing it away. It was getting weaker and weaker. I could hardly feel it anymore. The ghost finally gave up and just stayed in the corner. I let up my pushing and said, "Do you feel that? I can keep you out of me as long as I want. From now on, you're going to be nice and polite and answer my questions honestly, and don't you forget that!" It felt very empowering. All this time, I've been at its mercy. I've finally got a sense of control back.

Rereading this, it sounds so insane! I think you're about the only one who understands what I'm going through. Lately I've written to several ghost experts and even a demonologist. They seem willing to help until I tell them my story. They then ignore me - every one of them. This whole thing is really frustrating for me, and I'm sure it is for you too. We'll have to keep at it though. I hope eventually we'll find out what these things are.

Please let us know more about your k2 experience and asking questions. I'm not brave enough to do that at this point!

What you said here Rich,

"When this spirit comes, I can feel it moving across the bed. I can hear the springs compressing. I can see the blankets moving, and sometimes even see the spirit itself. It responds intelligently to my voice. This phenomenon is something that I can perceive with multiple senses simultaneously, and that tells me that this isn't a hallucination. "

I know exactly what you are talking about. Now I haven't seen it because I won't look at it. Not brave enough for that either. But I feel it moving as well as the blankets themselves moving. I can hear the springs compressing.

Have you ever felt the mattress pushing way down? It will sometimes feel like it's the shape of a ball, a very heavy ball and just push the side of the mattress way down and I hear the springs making noise.

Sometimes in the morning, all of a sudden my eyes fly open and a couple of seconds later, I'll feel the mattress pushing down. It's like even in my sleep I felt its presence.

I haven't had any of the telekinetic stuff but I haven't even tried to do anything like that. Another thing I'm just not brave enough to try. Freaky! 😨

And another thing I thought of if anyone is questioning if I'm on any type of drug, actually I feel this thing LESS if I take certain pills.
I'm not on any regular medication. But last year I fell off a horse and took muscle relaxers for a couple of days. I didn't feel any activity. It was like my muscles were deadened to feeling the energy of this spirit.
On nights I take a sleep aid, I don't feel anything either. So medication seems to kill the experience rather than enhance it. (This is for anyone wondering if I'm high or tripping! Lol)

Rich I'm going to read in detail later but wow! How exciting!

I just want to reply to jynantonnix quickly... I don't blame you one bit for reading and thinking bullsh*t! Lol. Believe me, as I would describe what's happening to my husband, ALL I could think was how crazy this sounds. I never believed in this stuff. I still don't know if I believe in it because to believe something is to somewhat understand it. I can barely get my head around it.

Reading about Ascension, the spirit world, kundalini and Eastern religion? Completely foreign to me. I can barely understand it.

All I know are the symptoms that are happening to me and Rich are very similar. Then I found other forums where people had the same symptoms. Their conclusions were different. Some feared these experiences swearing they were demons. Others felt it was a beautiful and spiritual experience.

I know how crazy it sounds and if it wasn't happening to me I wouldn't believe it either. 😆

I'm wide awake for this stuff though. When I first lay down and then as I'm waking up like 6-7am and even when I'm wide awake. I mean like having a conversation with my husband, that's how awake I am. I have no medical issues and I'm not on any medication. There is just an undeniable energy that is with me that I can feel lightly through the day but much more extreme when I first go to bed and early morning hours. I'm a very light sleeper so I'm not sleep walking or dreaming. I know. It's nuts. I'd never tell anyone in real life.

Sadly I can read posts on Facebook from people saying that Jesus told them this or that, or the voice of God told them to do something. But mention spirits and people will be ready to lock you up! Lol.

Thanks for the clarification, Rich. I do tend to take the skeptical stance when I can, but this truly is baffling. I'll be following further additions to your story.

That's the thing with just about every supernatural tale out there... They all, even the truly compelling ones, seem to be just short of actually being verifiable. I wonder why that is? Not challenging you, just thinking out loud...

Religious types will tell you that God cannot clearly reveal his presence since that would negate faith/free will... But one wouldn't think that ghosts have to work under the same constraints. Still, evidence for their existence always seems pretty sketchy, even given some of the high-tech ghost-hunting gadgets out there these days.

I think I'm pretty open-minded, and would actually sort of like to believe in all these things, so I'm always on the lookout for those stories which I can't easily debunk:)

jynnantonnix, My MD is mostly in remission and has been for some time. I'm at my worst when I wake up. I'm stiff and sore and sometimes lose my balance and fall. I'm not in any significant pain, at least nothing more than an aspirin would take care of. I have a job where I do a lot of walking and climbing stairs. This gets me loosened up, and by the end of my shift I go about as if there's nothing wrong. It's nothing like it used to be. I guess what I'm getting at is that my brain doesn't need to make this stuff up to escape from pain because I really don't have that much.

When this spirit comes, I can feel it moving across the bed. I can hear the springs compressing. I can see the blankets moving, and sometimes even see the spirit itself. It responds intelligently to my voice. This phenomenon is something that I can perceive with multiple senses simultaneously, and that tells me that this isn't a hallucination.

You asked about the telekinesis. Let me tell you how that started. One day I woke up, and the ghost was in me. I felt my pillow moving around randomly under my ear. It was somewhat strong and felt like a finger wiggling against my ear. I thought the ghost might be massaging my ear to keep me from rolling over, because if you remember when I roll over we have to go through the joining process again, and that takes a long time. A sore ear is one of the big reasons for me rolling over. The pillow movement would happen one or two days a week at first. This went on for a few months, when one day I wished for the movement to go to the back of my ear which was getting sore. It did. I found I could move a small portion of the pillow around using only my mind. I could also pull the pillow up tight again my face or push it away. I tried this also with my hands on my second pillow which I use as an armrest when sleeping. I could make the pillow swell in size using my hand, and I could feel my hand rising up with it. I could also pull my blankets into my hand or push them away. The ghost doesn't need to be inside me, just near me. The closer the ghost is, the stronger the force I can get. I use what I call "the pillow test" to see if the ghost is near me or not since most of the time I can't see it. If I can't pull my pillow against my face, I know the ghost is gone for the day. I don't believe I personally have this ability. I'm somehow using the ghost's ability to manipulate objects. The force I'm generating is not very strong. I could maybe only lift an ounce or two, but this is enough to verify scientifically.

summerafternoon12: Here's my first K2 experience! Let me describe it so you know how it works. The K2 is a small, hand-held unit that measures electro-motive force, or EMF. It has five LED lamps arranged in an arc at the top. There are five lights, each a different color. The first one is green, the second green also, the third yellow, the forth orange, and the fifth is red. The first light indicates power and is always lit when the unit is turned on. The stronger the EMF, the more lights light up. I got my unit from a ghost hunter supply shop, and from what I understand, it has a modified switch that keeps the unit on without you having to keep pressing it.

Here's the strengths of the lights:

Green = 1.5 mg
Yellow = 2.5 mg
Orange = 10 mg
Red = 20 mg

This experience was about an hour ago as I write this, at about 6:00am. This is the time of day that the ghost feels the strongest to me. I grabbed my K2 and got in bed and turned out the light. I felt the ghost bump the back of the bed. I turned on the K2 and kept it under my covers while watching it. As the ghost slid up next to me, I expected the meter to go full scale and light up all lights. Absolutely nothing happened. It was lying practically on top of the meter. I was very disappointed. It seemed like I wasted $60 on this thing.

I sat up a little in bed and held the meter up for the ghost to see. The movement startled the ghost, and it went back to ball form and was at my feet.

"Hey Buddy, look what I've got. It won't hurt you. It just measures energy. You can make the meter spike by directing energy at it. Go ahead and try it. Try to spike the meter." After about five seconds, the meter spiked into the yellow!

"We can use this to communicate. I can ask you yes-no questions, and you can answer "yes" by spiking the meter. Do you want to answer some questions?" (YES)

YES in the following means the meter spiked into the yellow. It never went to the orange or red section. NO was a complete lack of activity on the meter. All questions were answered after a delay of about five seconds. I would give about 15 to 20 seconds before moving on to the next question.

"Are you a relative of mine that has died?" (NO)

"So no, you're not a relative." (YES, but this could have been a very delayed yes to the are you a relative question)

"Did you die in this house?" (NO)

"Did you die in a hospital?" (NO)

"Have you ever lived in a body?" (NO)

"Are you a demon?" (NO)

"Are you an angel?" (NO)

"Are you me?" (NO)

"Can you spike the meter again for me so I know you're listening?" (YES)

"Do you want to go to sleep now?" (YES)

"Ok, that's enough questions for the day. Let's go to sleep."

After I got up, I was curious as to the scale of the meter. Holding it about 6" from a fan running a low speed would put the meter into the yellow range. Holding it right at the motor would make it go into the red (full scale).

I'll try to ask it a few questions every day and will keep you updated. Hopefully I can find out who it is and what it wants from me as long as it's being truthful.

Whoah...I just got done reading this story and all the comments (being new here, it's interesting to see some of the older stories where new comments still pop up from time to time), and this definitely ranks among the stranger and more compelling experiences.

Not meaning to say I don't believe it, because the detail and extended time period involved certainly give it credibility, but I do sort of wonder that no-one seems to have even attempted to think of non-supernatural explanations.

Just the fact that this appears to be such a rare phenomenon, and all but a couple of details involved are completely subjective does make me wonder whether there might not be some sort of hallucinatory side to this. Especially paired with the MD, might there not be an element of the mind attempting (and even succeeding, to a point) to deal with the illness? The mind can be an incredibly powerful and little-understood power in its own right.

I'm not sure how to fit the bits with objects moving around and the telekinesis into this theory, or even if I quite understand what was going on with the telekinesis. Was Rich saying that he personally had the power to control objects when "paired" with the entity, or that it was part of a less-defined "dream" sequence?

In any event, I can't help but think a bit of the movie "Phenomenon"...and while I'm not about to use a work of fiction to explain real-life experiences, it does sort of boil down to the fact that the mind is capable of feats we cannot explain or even fathom sometimes. Just look at the things savants can be capable of. Things which no "normal" mind could even conceive of. Yet we don't really know whether those exceptional feats are the result of a truly exceptional mind, or just one which somehow has the capability of tapping into things beyond the rest of us.

I know I'm sort of rambling here, but just trying to make some sort of sense of it all. In this sort of scenario, though, mightn't even telekinetic ability arise from a mind so tortured through a physical illness that it manages to tap into a way of overcoming it?

Let us know how the K2 meter works. I was going to order something like that at one point.

The ascension stuff is so weird and hard to wrap my mind around. All I know is that the people on those forums experience the exact same things that we do.

And yes there is absolutely more than one "being" in the room with you. According to these people they could be anything from guardian angels, spirit guides to ancestors. And not just people you've known who've passed but people related to you from hundred of years ago.
So they would be kind of like ghosts.

The Higher Self thing is weird to me too. It would make sense though why a lot of times I start to hear my heart beat loud. Not fast. Not like when you're scared and you can hear your heart. But more like I'm laying there and I can suddenly hear my heart. That's one of the ways I know something is there. Another way is the vibrating that I'll feel.

Now I haven't seen "me" yet like you have. Let's hope that never happens. I can barely digest this stuff most days. 😕

summerafternoon12: Wow! Just wow! That's an amazing theory. In your case, I could very well see that being true. I've read many of the accounts in that link, but not all of them. That's five years of posts. I don't understand this "ascension" thing much. What are we rising to? You've given me a lot to think about and learn. I have had some of the symptoms of the posts though:

1) One day last year I woke up and saw gold and silver symbols on a dark grey background completely surrounding me in the air. They were like Egyptian hieroglyphics and written in columns from top to bottom. They were very beautiful, but faded away after a couple seconds.

2) This was just a few months ago. I was falling asleep, and the ghost was in me as usual. I felt a somewhat solid human hand cup my ear. The palm was toward the rear of my head, and the fingers were resting on my temple. A couple fingers were stroking the hair there. It was soothing, and I didn't feel the least bit threatened. So, there were actually two spirits in the room with me at that time.

3) For the last six months or so, I've had the feeling of something being stuffed into my left ear canal. It feels like someone trying to stuff a piece of cotton in it. This happens at random times throughtout the day and night.

4) I've also seen the bright blue glow that would fill my visual field when I woke up. It would fade away after several seconds.

I never really thought of these as metaphysical. I figured they were just my over-active imagination. I can sort of understand a future self, or higher self. That would be the perfected you after all your lives. I however don't believe my visitor is my higher self. I would expect my higher self to be much more graceful and respect my free will to be left alone. My ghost is very clumsy and a downright pest at times. As more time goes by, I have a feeling that my ghost is just a ghost that wants to be in a warm body again.

There was something strange that happened last week. I went to bed and had woken up with the ghost completely inside me. Nothing abnormal there (ha ha!) but, I felt a second one moving around on the bed. It felt like the cat from when my experience first started. I used the ghost's vision and was able to see a small, shapeless black mass moving all over the bed. It hasn't returned since.

I've finally ordered a K2 meter and am waiting for it to be delivered. I should be able to use it to ask yes/no questions. I'll keep you updated.

Hello Rich!
I'm so glad I checked back at this post.
Well, I THINK I may have found what we are dealing with. I did a ton of reading online trying to find real experiences like we've had.
And I found this thread that I'm going to link below.
It seems that we are going through what is called an "Ascension process". If you read about ascension symptoms, it's like okay, that applies to me.
Then I started reading people's actual comments and experiences and so far this the closest I can find.
It's known more in Eastern religion and even pagan practices. Having been raised Christian, I know nothing of this stuff other than to fear or shun it. But I can tell you that I don't believe there is anything to fear. It seems ascension is some type of evolutionary process.

As you are going through the ascension process, you are dealing with your "Higher Self" which is you, but kind of like "future you" or "other world you".
This could explain your doppleganger stuff.

I've been reading this little by little for months but it's very hard to get my head around. But the main thing is, there are people out there who have the symptoms we have and this does not fall into the category of paranormal, which would explain not having luck on this board finding anything other than your post. This falls under metaphysical. I've had much more success on metaphysical boards.

It's crazy stuff and it's the weirdest, scariest and yet most wonderful thing that's happened to me.

Here is one of the comments from the post below that describes what you just mentioned.

"I can see them flying here and there. Seeing means like a glimpse here and there. They are like hairy smoke of energy."

The newlightbody.org board is the first place I found other people's experiences that were like mine.

Here is the blog of Elle who comments in the new light body.org page. She has a blog about her experiences.

I have a feeling we are going to go our entire lives and never exactly know what this is. But at least it's getting warmer, at least for me!

summerafternoon12: I hope you are doing okay and check back from time-to-time. Well, I think it was bound to happen eventually. We shared a dream. It was like no other dream that I've ever had, and I just knew it was in it with me and that we were actually interacting. It appeared to me as a dark blue magic carpet with a silver heart in the middle. I got on, and we'd go flying around in a very strange landscape. I was worried about falling off, but it insisted that I wouldn't and even did some gentle rolls to show me. I was much more lucid in the shared dream, but not like I am when I'm awake. I was able to talk to it and have it talk to me back. We had a very simple conversation within the dream. We both had difficulty getting the words out. It had a very tinny voice, and the conversation went something like: "That was fun, wasn't it!" "Yes, it was! We'll have to do it again!" "This dream is ending now, isn't it?" "Yes, I think it is." "Ok, goodbye." "Goodbye". Even though I'm more lucid than in a normal dream, I didn't have the presence of mind to ask, "who are you and what do you want with me?"

I managed to get a good look at it for the first time ever. When I turn over in bed, the movement startles it, and it will fly away temporarily and wait for me to settle down before trying to enter me again. I can feel it dart across the bed when it does this. My room is normally blacked out because I sleep during the day, but this particular day I had the door open, and there was good light coming in. I turned over and immediately looked toward the open door hoping to get a glimpse of it. I saw a wisp of black smoke dart from my bed to the far side of the room. It moved in a swimming motion and reminded me of a tadpole. It was very creepy to see. I almost wish I hadn't.

I want to add that it did follow me to Europe where I was on vacation a few weeks ago. In fact, I got the tingling feeling on the face when I was on the plane half way over the ocean. I get the feeling this is something I'm stuck with and can't just move to a new house to escape it.

A quick update. About a week ago, the ghost was inside me as usual, but I felt a third body partially covering my back. It felt very soft and light and was resting in between my shoulder blades. I felt this two days in a row, then it didn't happen any more.

Two days ago, I denied the ghost. This is the first time I've done this, and I can easily do it by just moving a little in bed. I was very tired and just didn't feel like playing this game. It got very aggressive and lifted me off the bed a few inches. I felt the mattress swell up with a huge force which pushed me up into the air. It then got only partially into me and started moving the finger in my right hand. It has been obsessed with doing this lately. I tried explaining to it that you're only pushing my fingers around and not animating them from within.

I'd say it almost sounds like the spirit might be trying to learn how to posses you. I could very well be wrong but, it is always an option. You could always ask it, and if you want to try to communicate more why don't you write down a question (like in a diary) as you ask it and if you get an answer later if you can look back to where you wrote it down you will know what you asked.

elnoraemily: There are drawbacks such as the nightmares and lack of privacy, but I do have to admit that the whole experience has been very interesting. I'm not too worried about it taking over my body though. It has been trying to move my hands and fingers around a lot lately, but it's not very good at it.

I meant to post this earlier with the original comment, but I also have a chronic pain disorder involving my nerves. I found it beyond fascinating that it helped you to the point where you no longer required medication. I am a tiny bit envious, actually.

It blew my mind.
I can't quite put it into words.

Absolutely fascinating!
I find it sweet that it would put the antacid in a place you could find it, as if/he/she it was saying that it knows you need them.

I agree with a lot of what others have said, about allowing it to continue possibly being a negative thing. I would not call it a demon or an incubus- possibly just something that is very lonely, hence it not leaving you alone until it gets to connect with you. Either way, I believe that everything intelligent has an agenda.
I would love to be able to experience the out of body sensations that it is allowing you to get, though the watched-to-many-movies part of me is slightly concerned that it would take over your body (didn't that happen in Insidious? See, too many movies).

The copying your form at work is creepy, to say the very least. The sweet antacid gift doesn't really cancel out the fact that it's trying to walk around as you.

I am going to leave the majority of the theories to those who are more well versed than I am.

Thank you very much for sharing with amazing and unique account and for continuing with the many updates.

I'll stop rambling now.
Best wishes!

I've definitely felt what feels like a small dog panting. All of these things feel very similar but there are little differences between them. I've never thought of the butterfly wings but now that you say it, yes I can see it.

My husband is a very sound sleeper in the early part of the night. His sleep is lighter in the early morning hours. I'm the opposite. I'm a very light sleeper especially in the first few hours I'm in bed. My deepest sleep comes the last couple hours before I get up. I go to bed after my husband so by the time I'm up there he's sound asleep so that's why he doesn't feel anything. Times we've gone to bed at the same time, he said he's felt the small footsteps on the bed. He's definitely felt some of the things I've felt but not near the intensity or the frequency and he's never felt the vibration. The small earthquake is definitely the closest to what the vibration feels like.

Last night was another good night. I felt the energy around me like I always do but no hands touching me. I think maybe it knows I'm terrified of the human form. I used to think that the small dog or cat and the ball were different things but now I'm thinking these are all one in the same. Like this thing is a shapeshifter.

I spent hours yesterday trying to read to find anything of what this may be. There are lots of other people who've felt the small animal on the bed. If you google "ghost cat" there is lots of info out there. I've also found a few people who have felt the energy vibration thing. But I cannot find anything regarding the ball.
I see LOTS of stuff about sleep paralysis. To rule it out, I always will move my arms and legs to be sure I'm able. I'll also do multiplication tables in my head. If I can think clearly and move when I want, I know I'm awake and this is not sleep paralysis.

I will find out what this thing is at some point!

Ah, good, a ball! To answer your question, in my original story I tried to give an impression of what it feels like when I said it was like a small dog panting. When it's still on the bed, it feels just like that but somewhat lighter than a real dog. When it's off the bed, it feels like a giant butterfly flapping its wings quickly. It disturbs the air and that's how I know where it is when it's not on the bed. Now when you say a buzzing, I assume you mean a fast vibration like an electric shaver. Your entire bed vibrates like that? Your husband must really be a sound sleeper!

lol Last night and the night before I was actually so tired that I thankfully fell asleep not long before getting in bed. I remember falling asleep feeling the mattress depressing a little bit which is usually the beginning of the ball showing up. No people hands touching me! Yay! 😆

I don't remember if I've asked but before these things show up, do you feel sort of a buzzing, vibrating energy? I always do. And sometimes the vibrating energy will immediately result in the ball, the cat/dog animal or in some cases the human. Other times the vibrating energy just happens. I can feel it but nothing results. The past two nights I feel asleep with the vibrating so I know they were around, but if it did manifest into a person, I was thankfully asleep when that happened.

A couple of weeks ago here in Virginia we got an earthquake. We'd had one back in 2011 but we were living in Connecticut at the time. We moved back to Virginia in late 2011 so I'd never experienced an earthquake before. So a couple of weeks ago I'm walking into the kitchen and I feel the rumbling of the earthquake but it was a soft rumble. I didn't think anything of it. My husband shouts from the living room, "Do you feel that? What is it?" We looked online and turns out we had a small earthquake.
The reason I wasn't thinking of it at the time I went into the kitchen was because that little rumbling, vibrating is very close to what I feel each night before they come around. It feels like a small earthquake. I've asked my husband if he's ever felt it but he said no. When this stuff started two years ago, it felt like the whole bed was shaking. Now it just feels like a small rumble.

If anyone is reading these posts and has any kind of idea of a name for this stuff please let us know! When I search for any key words involving "ball" it always comes back to this post. There has to be other people feeling this.

After the hands go through me I can feel the rest of it going through me. It's so hard to describe but it feels like it's moving through me and then synching up with me. Then I fall asleep. When I wake up during the night, sometimes I feel it and sometimes I don't.
Then in the morning all I feel is the pushing, pushing on the mattress all around me. I hate that too because it's my last bit of sleep and the pushing keeps me up.

That is fantastic advice about being nice to it instead of ordering it away. I'm definitely going to do that. What exactly do you mean by it got worse when you yelled at it? Did you ever feel like it got mad at you? I will definitely be nice and gentle but firm. Usually I do sleep well once it's synched up. That part is never the problem. The movement of it and the mattress pushing down can be annoying. But really it's the part where it's felt human and the human hands touching me, even though it's a nice touch, it still freaks me out. I just can't deal no matter how hard I try.

It must have read my mind because last night it actually went back to just being the ball. I didn't feel any hands on me. We'll see tonight. 😉

summerafternoon12: So the hands go through your shoulders, then what happens? Is it with you all night? I used to go to bed with that same feeling of dread. I would lie there, and I knew it was coming for me. When this first started happening, it would take several minutes to show up which caused me increasing anxiety. Then, I would feel the ball moving all over the bed if I was facing to the inside of the bed, or if I was facing outside it would pace back and forth and poke me and grab onto my wrist. I got to really hate it and wanted it gone. One day I just decided to accept it and make friends with it. My life changed for the better because of that. I started calling it Sleepbuddy a while back. It's seemed to have taken to its name. The only bad thing now is the very vivid nightmares where I'm paralysed and being twisted and squished.

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I sleep in two shifts. I've done that since my twenties. After getting off work at 7:00am, I get something to eat and then go to sleep for about an hour or two. I then get up and don't go back to sleep until about 4:00pm or so. Lately almost all of this activity takes place during my short morning sleep. In the evening or during the night, during my second sleep, I can barely feel it. If I didn't know about it and know what to feel for, I would never suspect anything's there. However, on my nights off I'll sleep in past midnight, and it's on those nights that things tend to get moved around the house. For example, it'll pull all the towels off the rack and pile them on the floor. Or it will throw the bar of soap across the bathroom, and I can tell it's been thrown because it's got a huge dent in it from the impact. Or, there's the knocking on the walls. Sometimes things get moved when I'm away at work, but that's rare. I'll get after it for that. I'll say, Sleepbuddy, if you're going to be here in this house, I expect you to behave yourself better. I'll pick up a feeling of remorse from it, and the bad behavior will stop, at least for a little while. I've found that dealing with a ghost is like dealing with a two year old with OCD. They can be very tempermental and have a short term memory and will do what they want. There doesn't seem to be any reasoning with them. Yelling at my ghost to go away just seemed to make things worse. By making friends with it, it will somewhat try to not upset me. That would be my advice to you. You're stuck with this thing, at least in the meanwhile. You said yourself that you get the best sleep when it's clinging to you.

regarding any trauma that could have started this, no I really don't have anything that could have triggered it.

Back when I was 19-20 when it started, it would only happen maybe a few times a year. It was always what either felt like a cat walking on the bed (my cats weren't in my room at the time), the mattress pushing down during morning hours only, or the bed would shake a little. All of this would happen while I was either getting to sleep or early morning so I always blew it off as being just my imagination. Plus it happened so infrequently.

Then two years ago this nightly stuff started.
I forgot to tell you the most important part in all of this... It happens to my mother also. I only found out recently. I started asking her questions about it wondering if this happened to my grandparents or if there was any family history of it. She's had very close to what we had. She doesn't have the ball thing. She's had the mattress pushing down like someone is there and she's had the poking. She also said that in the middle of the day it's felt like someone poking her to get her attention. She believes it's my grandmother who is her mother who died in 2007.

But I just don't think so. I didn't want to say that to her because it obviously brings her comfort, plus maybe it is my grandma visiting her. But I don't feel that with me. This is something else.

Rich your first paragraph describes exactly what it has been this past week for me. The "ball" now feels like a person. Oh my gosh, I can't tell you how happy you are going through the same thing.

Yours has progressed much faster than my experience has and I wonder if it's because you're more open, accepting and all around much braver than me.

I could handle the little critters or what felt like a kitty or small dog. The orb/ball thing was creepy but I learned to deal. But this thing of feeling like a person is just over the top for me. The other morning my husband was sleeping and I could feel it prodding me and I just yelled out, "Leave me alone. Go away. I don't want you here anymore." It did leave for that day. That night, same stuff.

I did feel better reading your posts and they give me some bravery knowing that at least one other person is feeling this (I know there are more people like us. We just need to find them) But for now, your posts give me comfort. So I laid down to sleep, my husband was already sleeping. I'm laying there in the dark just knowing that the hand is coming. It did. So this time, rather than jump and pull away and freak out I just let it touch me. What I felt was two soft hands this time, one on each shoulder. The hands just sat there with a soft touch. Then I felt them go inside and it's exactly as you describe where you feel it going into you. I mean, I can actually feel it moving through me.

Before it was just the orb thing that would kind of form around me like an amoeba. But this past week it's like a person. I tolerated it, but I honestly don't care for it.

All kinds of things run through my head like maybe are we some kind of portal and it's using our body to get somewhere? But then like you, I'll wake up and I feel it there. I don't feel like it's hurting me or taking my energy other than the lack of sleep that I'll often get.

Also I do not have any kind of telekinetic powers. That would actually be cool. I wouldn't even know where to begin to explore that. And at this point, nothing sounds crazy anymore, so yes I totally believe you!

I seriously think I'd have a heart attack if I saw a doppleganger though. Please don't tell me that is the next stage of this "journey". I read what Miricles posted about dopplegangers and let's just say I don't have near enough passion for sci-fi or fantasy to find that cool in any sort of way. It sounds terrifying.

Unless it works like the movie Back to the Future 2 where the old you comes back and gives the young you the winning numbers. That I could deal with, lol.

summerafternoon12: Wow, ok, things are escalating for you. You're not alone. Keep in mind that I'll be here if you need support. I wouldn't worry though. You said yourself that the touch is gentle and loving. What I think is happening is that you are becoming more sensitive to it and becoming more aware of what it really is. It's probably been doing that for a long time, and only now are you starting to feel it. I went through a similar experience but in a shorter timespan than you did. I'll admit it was really creepy at first, but now I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me any more. I first only perceived it as like a ball rolling around on the bed. After a few minutes, the feeling faded, and I was no longer aware of there being anything there. Over several months, I became more and more sensitive to it and could perceive it as human. Mine has a pulsing, swimming motion that disturbs the air around it. It's the air disturbance that I feel and use to know where it is. If I'm not laying on its preferred side, it will pace back and forth alongside the bed, then stop and grab onto my wrist and squeeze, almost as if pleading. My ghost feels like a person made out of static electricity. I can feel its hand and fingers when it grabs me. It can also squeeze really hard when it wants to. It will also tap me as if politely trying to get my attention. When it sleeps in me, sometimes it gets bored, I think, and it exits me and sits at the end of the bed and plays with my feet. Believe me, I'm used to the touching and after a while you will learn to tune it out and go to sleep.

So, tell me what happens. You feel this entity in your room as you're going to sleep. It caresses you, then what? Does it eventually get behind you and carry on as you normally know? You've had this for 22 or 23 years now. Can you think of an incident of trauma or stress when you were around 18 or 19 that could have started all this?

Mine has recently changed behavior back to letting me fall asleep first. When it is 100% synced with me, I'll wake up with a jolt. When you wake up, you're probably aware of having a head and two arms and two hands, etc. When I wake up, I'm aware of having two heads and four arms and four hands. I know this is going to sound really strange and unbelievable, but I can fluff the pillow or move the blankets using my mind only (telekinesis). The ghost doesn't even have to be inside me to do that. It just has to be nearby. In fact, that's the test I use to tell if it is in the room with me. If it is, I can pull or push the pillow. If not, then I know the ghost is no longer in the house. Usually after I roll over a couple times, the ghost leaves. It take so much time and effort for it to sync with me again that it just doesn't bother.

I have listened to Michio Kaku many times on the Art Bell radio show. Yes, he's brilliant and can make very complex ideas easy for anyone to understand. A future me? Who knows. I strongly suspect but I'm not fully convinced this ghost and the workplace ghost are the same. Their showing up at the same time is almost too much of a coincidence. I now know that I do have a doppelganger at work. That part is for sure. I have never seen "me" in the house though.

Well, hang in there and keep me updated.

Also Miricles, thank you for contributing. I have to run but later I want to read more about your theory.

Seriously I've spent so much time googling words and it always brings me back to this thread! There has got to be other people experiencing this. So the fact that I can't find anything makes me think we aren't using the correct key words. So I want to find a name for this and then maybe I can find other people experiencing the same thing and learn more about this.

Rich right now I get such comfort from your posts knowing that you are okay and this thing isn't hurting you are affecting your life in a bad way. Stuff may be creepy but the unknown can be. But so far that while things seem scary we don't have a reason to be afraid. If not for your posts, Rich, I'd feel very alone... And afraid at this point. I've always liked animals and when it felt like animals on the bed or even a spirit, I was never afraid. But feeling a human like form, and a human like hand touching me does scare me. I don't like it. If I knew what it was, I'd feel a lot better.

oh my gosh Rich I just read your update.

I'm here again because I had some changes happen this week and they were scaring me. I've had a lot of trouble falling asleep because it feels like someone is in the room with me. There is a presence there and while I don't feel it is evil or trying to hurt me, just its presence is enough to prevent me from falling asleep.

Ususally the mattress pushing down around me happens toward morning. Now it's been happening at night like someone sitting on the bed but it happens in different places around me, on my one side and even in the middle of me and my husband.

The part that is scaring me is now I feel like a hand is touching me. I'll feel it graze my shoulder or one night I was on my side and I felt it just graze down my side. It does not feel like it's touching me in a sexual manner not one teeny bit. More loving if that makes sense. Just like you'd just touch the shoulder of someone you are close with. But a touch of a hand in the dark is not something I want to deal with.

You are much braver than me and I know you seem to be wanting to explore this much quicker than me. I'm so apprehensive that I might find something I don't want to find. I don't want to go deeper down the rabbit hole so to speak but at the same time, I want to be 100% sure this isn't something I should fear. I don't think it's something we should fear but really, how can we be 100% sure of anything?

Now what you are saying about seeing yourself... I wondered this very thing this past week. I only wonder this because of a show I saw with the theoretical physicist Michio Kaku. Have you ever heard of him? He's a brilliant physicist who claims that time and space is not in a straight line but in waves and that time travel is possible. He said something to the effect of "Dont be surprised if your future self knocks on your door one day." He was on one of the talk shows talking about this and it sounds nuts BUT this guy is brilliant. Is it possible that this is what is happening to you?

I have NOT seen myself yet. It's just what felt like first an animal, then more of a spirit, now feels more human like to me. And for a brief moment I wondered if this thing was human and could it be me.

Sometimes I feel like this is a gift. Other times I feel like I just want to live and be like a normal person. I don't want this. 😢

Here is the link to Michio Kaku if you want to read. He's hard to understand but he definitely believes in time travel.

Rich73 - before I check out the link you provided, this is a general explanation for what I was talking about.

Living residual is energy we, the living, provide by going about our daily business, doing the same routine over and over. You said you have worked there for 8 years, so it's safe to assume you have built up a fair amount of energy in that amount of time to "create" energy of you.

Keep in mind all of this is just theory, but it could explain why people see "people" that they cannot possibly have seen in places they weren't.

Don't know if any of this helps, has merit, is crazy or whatever but it is what I thought when you mentioned you and your coworkers saw "you".

I just wonder if there could be two? 😕 I've been following your experience from the beginning and still have reached no answers that make sense to me.

I found this explanation interesting:

Perhaps this could have happened to me after getting MD as other people have suggested? One thing I forgot to mention is that when my coworker saw the transparent me walking down the hall last week, he said that I had on my old jacket. It's cold in the computer rooms where we work, and we wear jackets indoors all year long. This particular jacket was old and tattered, and I threw it away about four months ago and bought a new one.

Miracles51031: No, actually I haven't. A search turned up one article on this site, and the rest was financial stuff. The word residual, to me, means something left over. This thing interacts with me and shows intelligence. I'm starting to wonder if I'm psychically projecting this thing, much like a poltergeist emanates from a young girl.

summerafternoon12: Things have gotten a little stranger. There's something I left out of my original story. I work with a small team of guys in a very large building at night. We spread out and are often alone. When the paranormal activity starting increasing in my house last year, one of the guys at work saw an apparition. This guy was visibly shaken and refused to go to that part of the building again. In the back of my mind, I thought the ghost might be following me to work. The timing was too coincidental to not think that. I've worked there a long time, and we never had any paranormal activity until last year.

After a little while, another coworker sees it. He thought it was me playing a trick on him. The ghost, upon being seen, ducked behind a low wall and ran away. Then came my turn. I'm coming around a corner, and I see a man just standing there looking at me. He looked like me. He was even in the same uniform that I wear. When I looked directly at him, he disappeared. I told the guys that I finally saw the ghost, but I kept the part where it looked like me to myself. That was just too much for me to talk about.

I saw him several more times. Sometimes I would be walking down a corridor, and I would get this strong feeling of someone behind me watching me. I would turn around and see him just for a split second before he disappeared. Other times, I would be in the computer room which has windows all around. I would see a shadowy figure peek at me from behind the glass, then duck out of sight. A couple times I felt someone invisible run their finger across my cheek.

The other day, another coworker tells me that he saw me walking down the hallway. I was transparent and after a moment I disappeared. This coworker knew I was in another part of the building because he could hear me working there. This confirmed that this workplace ghost was really me and that I wasn't going crazy.

So, it appears that I have a doppelganger. I'm so confused right now and really don't know what to think. Could the ghost in my house and the ghost at work be the same?

OMG you hear someone yelling? I wonder if that's just dream related and not ghost related though. You know how sometimes you just start to dream something that startles you? I have never heard any kind of voice or really any type of noise thankfully. That's funny that it moves your hand like that. I just feel it congealing to me every night now just about.

I'm 42 now and as I mentioned in my first post, I had felt things like the mattress pushing down or the bed shaking going back to when I was 19 or 20 I think. This would happen maybe a few times year. But this... This stuff only started two years ago this May. I really am thankful that nothing like this ever happened to me as a child. Because I probably would have ran around telling people and I easily could have been labeled mentally ill. I know I'm not crazy now. Heck my husband has felt the moving on occasion. Nothing like I do but enough that I know it's not just me.
Have you ever wondered if people who are labeled crazy by society really just have experiences like this but even more intense? Like people who are schizophrenic because they hear voices, maybe ghosts or spirits are communicating with them and they are in fact hearing voices. Just a thought and there is no way to prove it. It's actually kind of heartbreaking to think about people being labeled crazy when they are just experiencing something like we are.: (

summerafternoon12: I agree - ignorance is bliss! I'm like you. I'm almost afraid to find out what it really is.

It's interesting that you mentioned the pressure on the throat. For me, I sometimes feel pressure on my face when the back of the ghost's head is moving into mine. It's like someone stretching a latex sheet over my face only much, much softer. Individual eyelashes will be plucked like a guitar string and will tickle.

Lately I've been hearing yelling from below the house when the ghost is near me. I can't explain that. It just started happening. I'll hear something like, "HEY!" and then some other random words. The other day a rough male voice said, "Get outta my way!" right into my ear. I'm starting to wonder if I'm creating these voices myself just like I'm creating the attacks myself.

The ghost can now move my right hand fairly well. Sometimes I'll wake up to find my right hand moving slowly back and forth across the sheets. Other times, it will close the fingers to make a fist, over and over again.

oh regarding the cocoon and the squeezing that you talked about last month, that happened to me a couple of weeks ago. While the thing was moving over me, I could feel the pressure of it on my throat. Nothing hard enough to hurt me, but your throat is someplace that there is unmistakable pressure. It did not feel at all like it was trying to hurt me. It just happened to be moving past my throat. So I moved my head and then the pressure stopped. I could still feel it moving around me, just not in the throat area.

Thank you for posting that link Rich! Wow interesting. Her experience is indeed similar to what I go through almost each night. I'm really trying to take note but while sometimes it just feels like something behind me, a lot of times, its the syncing up like you talk about. Like the thing is inside me.
It's funny that she mentions not being scared. That is what has surprised me most about all of this, is that I'm not scared. Sometimes it will feel a little creepy but never anything that makes me want to jump up and turn on the lights.
I still haven't talked to the shaman. I know I will one day but in the meantime I just try to read and find similar stories so maybe I can figure out what this is. Your story is the only story that comes closest to mine. In fact when I google certain key words, this post comes up pretty frequently! I guess there is a small part of me that the shaman might tell me something that scares me. Right now I'm not scared at all but ignorance is bliss as they say, lol. 😆

When I say it rotates, I mean different things each night. I don't get all of that in one day.

I do think whatever this ghost thing is, it is definitely something positive. That part I have no doubt about. I'm sure yours is too. I think we would have known by now if it wasn't!

I'm glad I came back to read.

The cocoon thing is cool except for the squeezing part. I've been really trying to take notes of what I feel. For me it rotates between what feels like a small dog or cat walking on the bed, the orb like thing that moves back and forth, something that feels like it's sitting on my mattress where I'll feel the mattress pushing hard and I'll actually hear the springs on the bed, and then of course the amoeba thing that feels like it's laying with me. I have to say I do get the best sleep when it's there.

The moving of objects in your house is definitely weird. I only had one experience that there was no other explanation for. I always sleep with ear plugs because I'm a light sleeper and all noises wake me. I always keep them in the bathroom on the counter. One night I grabbed them and left them on the kitchen counter and then got a drink, did something else like check the dog's water bowl or something. Then I went for the earplugs and they weren't there. So I went back and checked the bathroom and they weren't there. I'm going back and forth and could not find the earplugs. I checked the bathroom and counter several times feeling like I was going nuts. I ended up just getting out two more earplugs from the box. The next day the earplugs were back on the bathroom counter. I asked my husband if he put them there and he was like, "huh? No." I thought maybe he found them on the floor or something. It was definitely weird with no explanation. But because I live with my husband I'm sure that there could be things out of place that I'd never notice. Do you live alone? I can imagine that that you'd notice every little thing out of place.

I still haven't contacted the shaman but I want to. I just found him my googling shaman and virginia. Whatever your state is, just google shaman with your state. I tried looking for psychics/mediums but the results come back with sooooo many I don't know who to ask. And it's not like you can find Yelp reviews on these people. And not to mention I can't tell this to anyone I know. Surely people would think I'm nuts. It sounds nuts as I type it!

summerafternoon12: Ok, the hunt for a good psychic is on! I don't even know where to begin looking. The yellow pages? 😆 It may take us years to find one. Good luck to you.

My ghost has started doing something a little different lately. Instead of getting inside me, it will make itself slightly larger than me and then totally cocoon me. I'll feel my body being completely squeezed, as if I'm being hugged all over my entire body at once. It's mostly comforting, but sometimes it squeezes so hard that I find it hard to breathe. It will hold my hands especially tight. I can feel its fingers twitching which will wake me up. On some days it is also making my entire body tingle very intensly.

When I come home from work, I make it a little game of mine to find out what's been moved around the house while I've been gone. Yesterday, I found one of the cabinets in the hallway open. Inside that particular cabinet is a quilt my mother made for me when I was younger and before she died. I'm trying not to read too much into this, but could it be a sign?

A psychic medium is a great idea too! I need to do a search for one. The problem is getting a true, good reputable one. I think that probably 99% of them are con artists but I do believe some people have a gift. So a good psychic-medium-healer may be someone that can give us a clue.

From what you are talking about with the weight on your chest, this is the only thing that seems to have a scientific explanation and that is sleep paralysis. I've experienced it a couple of times. Where your mind is waking but your body is still shut down. Apparently your body is kind of paralyzed while you sleep and this is so you don't hurt yourself. So while you may be running in a dream your body is doing tiny movements. But if your mind wakes up too soon and your body is still asleep, it can give the sensation of a weight being on your chest.

The problem with sleep paralysis is that people will use it as an explanation for everything. In reading these forums people will ask about spirits or ghosts waking them up and people will always try to pass it off as sleep paralysis. In your case, the weight on the chest and feeling like you are being held down is the paralysis. Yes it's frightening. When it happened to me, in my dream I was thinking it was a man holding me down. Ugh awful. But people who have zero ghost/spiritual experiences will experience sleep paralysis so the two don't seem to be linked at all.

And yes I agree that it would be nice to be left alone once in a while. Every so often I am. Like it will skip a night but really that's not often. But if it left totally I would miss it.

Oh and eels are a good way to describe it too. And it usually does start at my feet. I feel the vibrating energy and then the dog/cat thing shows up. Almost like it entered here from another dimension. The eel like swishy thing just shows up and will start crawling on me. Boy this sounds so scary typing it and yet it isn't. And I'm one of the biggest chickens going. I HATE horror movies and won't watch most of them. So it's not like I'm some brave person at all.

Why this doesn't scare me I don't know. I just hope when I do talk to the Shaman guy or the psychic that they nod and understand. My biggest fear is that one of they look at me like I'm nuts!

summerafternoon12: A shaman! Yes, that would be interesting! I'm like you though, and lately I've been considering consulting with a psychic medium to come to the house and try to communicate with the ghost. Every day I think about this ghost and am trying to figure it out. I know what's happening. I just don't know why. It's been almost a year now, and still it doesn't seem real. Sometimes I laugh at the absurdity of it all.
Like you I felt the cat/small dog sensation on the bed, but that was only when this first started happening to me. Over time, I've gotten more sensitive to it I guess and can feel its movements better. Now I would describe it as a bunch of eels swimming on the bed. Sometimes it's weak, and I can barely feel it. Othertimes, it's very strong and almost like a real person getting in bed with me. Here's what happens to me every day. I'll lie down and get comfortable. About 10 seconds later I feel the familiar bump at the back of the bed followed by the swimming eels at my feet. It then slides across the bed like a baseball player sliding across home plate. It's very quick, and in an instant it is lying right beside me. It then mimicks my position and slowly and awkwardly moves inside me. After it is inside me, I still feel the swimming eels all around me. The movement slowly dies down until about 10 minutes later, it is finally still. Then we can go to sleep.

This morning I had another attack. I had the total paralysis and felt the crushing weight on my chest and the feeling of being strangled and punched. This somehow caused by the ghost moving around while I'm sleeping, but I'm not sure exactly why it's happening. I'm curious if this happens to you? I've told the ghost many times to keep completely still, but this morning it gost restless and was moving around quite a bit. It's this movement that triggers very vivid nightmares and sometimes the night terrors like I had this morning. It's almost like the ghost is magnifying any negative energy in me while I'm sleeping, and these manifest as extreme dreams. This is not every day though. Most of the time the ghost stays still and we have a good sleep together.

The ghost is not unwelcome here, but I would like to have a day to myself every once in a while where I am just left alone. Every time I get in bed, it is there with me and it can be a nuissance some times. If it ever left for good, I would really miss it. I like to think of it as my spooky little friend. I too am wondering if this will fade away over time or if this is for life.

Rich thanks for the reply! Yes I forgot I asked about blood type. So you're a negative also. That's another interesting layer. Not that this happens to all negative blood types and not to positives. But I remember reading on a paranormal/supernatural website that it seems these weird phenomenons are disproportionately higher among the negatives.

Since there are so many ghost forums I really wish I could find more people that this has happened to. I kind of want to know what happens over time. Does it stay forever or eventually go away. Should we be allowing this to happen? I did find another site that described this being angels as some people talking about what feels like honey pouring over them slowly. I can relate to that part. But still it doesn't explain all of it.

Like I said, I've had what feels like a small dog or cat on the bed for the past 20 years. I say cat because I've always had cats and larger dogs so when I'd feel the motion I always thought that one of my cats got into the room. If I had a small dog I'd think it was them. But that was very sporadic over the past 20 years. The intense stuff I have now that you describe has only been for the past two years.
Even though you are soothed rather than healed that is still wonderful to hear! I mean it's pretty amazing. Can you imagine trying to explain this to a doctor?

I was honestly thinking of going to a Shaman healer to see if he can tell me something. Let me tell you, I know nothing about this kind of stuff. I was raised as a Christian and just never dealt with any of this. I don't even know if I believe it because the skeptic in me tells me all of it is hokum. This is why I became Episcopalian because they allow to to question and even doubt things. But I'm really kind of desperate to find out that while everything feels like it's okay, I want to be sure that it is. I've never heard of a ghost hurting anyone but who knows. The guy I found has a site called White Stage Healing and if you search it under the services page, you'll see a lot of stuff that is just so hokey and foreign sounding to me but yet the other part of me wants to keep an open mind. Why try to make sense when everything that's happening to us doesn't make any kind of sense in the real world anyway? I do not know this guy and I'm NOT trying to advertise anything. I just thought that maybe this was someone who'd have some clue as to what is happening. I've thought of asking ghost hunter type people but it seems like they just deal with hauntings and the negative things.

summerafternoon12: Sorry for the late reply. (B-) You did ask about my blood type, didn't you?

Ghosts can attach themselves to anything - people, places, or things. I've read stories where someone buys an antique, and suddenly their house becomes haunted. They can be whatever size they want. I don't personally believe that ghosts are people that didn't pass on. I believe everybody passes at the time of death. Sometimes there's energy that is incompatible with the afterlife that lingers on, like extreme anger or sadness or something unaccomplished in life. This energy can take on the form of a pattern that repeats itself again and again and again. In some cases, that energy can take on a life of its own and be strong enough to be able to manipulate physical objects and show intelligent behavior. This is what's known as an "intelligent haunting". By acknowledging a ghost, you are feeding its energy and making it stronger and stronger.

In my opinion, you just have a regular ghost that is showing intelligent behavior. The catlike motion you're feeling is just the way some ghosts move. Some accounts I've heard people will see the ghost as a black smoke that moves snake-like up walls and across the ceiling. Except with the ghost, the motions is up and down and not side to side. It moves almost in a swimming fashion. This description matches the movement that I feel on my bed. Once the ghost is lying on your bed, there's still some residual energy that is moving around and takes some time to die down. Even when my ghost is completely inside me, there's still quite a bit of movement for awhile. After about 15 minutes or so, it is completely still. Sometimes, long after we've fallen asleep, it will wake up and start moving around. This wakes me up. I'll get a little upset and tell it to stop moving and go back to sleep.

I've read other accounts of movement being felt on the bed - maybe even here at this site, I don't remember. I think this may be more common than what we think. You are, though, the only other person I know of that is conciously aware that a ghost is sleeping with them. I do think we are providing comfort for them just like you said. Oh, and I want to clarify something. The ghost did not heal me. It however sooths me, much like a hot bath is soothing to achey muscles.

Rich your 5th paragraph down, the last sentence says,
"I'm B-, BTW." What does that mean? It looks like a word was cut out.

Well that's two of us having these weird experiences. There has got to be more people who deal with the orb/amoeba thing that conforms to your body. There has to be.

The two things that made me think it wasn't a ghost is that
1) I could be wrong but aren't ghosts supposed to be people who've died but haven't moved on? This thing doesn't feel like it's human in any way. It doesn't feel male or female. It doesn't even feel like an animal. I compared it to a cat because of the soft footsteps but really it feels even lighter and more floaty. I thought ghosts were human at one point.
Plus like I mentioned, I thought that ghosts are assigned to a place, not a person. And this thing has come place to place with me.
Again I could be wrong. Honestly, before these experiences started getting strong in the past two years, I wasn't even sure I believed in ghosts or any of these types of stories. Now I don't know what I believe. I do know that we as humans, know very little about this world and next that's for sure.

The second thing that made me think it wasn't a ghost is that there are soooo many ghost forums and ghost stories and I have NOT been able to find any story close to what I've been experiencing until just last week when I found your story. I would think that if it was a ghost, there would be more stories like ours out on these forums.

But maybe it is a ghost. Who knows. Sometimes I'm laying there and feeling it move around me, or feeling the mattress pushing down around me in the morning, I'm wide awake, thinking of what I have to do that day. Then it will hit me, what IS this thing? I mean really. What is it? I don't feel like it's communicating with me. I don't feel like it's telling me anything.
I think it's awesome how it's healed you. That is truly amazing. I don't have any illnesses so I can't say that it's healed me. I feel like if anything, I'm providing IT comfort. Like it enjoys hanging out with me.

Thankfully my husband is very open minded about this and I can talk to him.

My mother is the only other person I've spoken to and she has told me how she has felt the cat-like thing many times over the years. It makes me wonder if it's hereditary. She seemed so relieved the day I asked her about it like I was confirming that she wasn't crazy.

But as I'm typing this, it all sounds so crazy to me. It sounds like a made up story. I'm experiencing it myself and it still doesn't sound like it could be real. It shows how much of an impact the world has on us. Someone could post on Facebook how God got them a new job or helped their son win the football game Friday night and nobody I know would ever question it. If I mentioned this, I think I'd have a few people saying "Burn witch burn!" lol. Seriously though. I wish I knew what this was. If it had a name, I'd know what to look for when I Google.

summerafternoon12: Welcome, and wow, what a story! I'm very glad you replied, and am even happier to find I'm not alone in this type of experience. You're the only other one I know of going through this, and believe me, I've searched.

I believe you have exactly the same thing I do. When this first started happening to me, I too thought at first it was a cat walking on the bed. When I'm working in the garden on nice days, I usually leave the back door open. There's a neighbor cat that has sneaked into the house unnoticed before and has woken me up. So, when I first felt movement on my bed, I looked and expected to see this particular cat. The weight and movement felt about right for a cat, but there was nothing there. My comforter was moving though. My neighbors small dog had passed away, and since I was open to the possibility of animal ghosts, I figured this was maybe a ghost dog that had come to rest on my bed.

The more time I spent with this ghost, the better I could perceive its shape without seeing it. It was definitely a human shape. When I get in bed, it lays right next to me before getting inside me. I can perceive its head, shoulders, arms, torso, and feet. The ghost is lying completely still, but there's this residual motion that moves back and forth across my bed that I felt when all this first started happening. Its some sort of energy that is still moving inside the ghost. After a few minutes, this wave, for lack of a better term, dies down and becomes two smaller waves that are moving on the bed but not so much as the first wave. These two waves die down and split into four waves and so on. After a while I feel just a bunch of small, random movements on the bed almost too weak to feel at all. Eventually everything becomes perfectly still. This happens after 10 to 15 minutes. The best analogy I can think of is let's say you have a bowl full of water. You come up and knock on the side of the bowl. At first you have a big disturbance on the surface of the water. The larger first wave becomes smaller waves that become small waves and ripples, and eventually the surface of the water becomes still again. I don't understand why this happens; it's just the nature of the way the ghost moves.

I don't believe this spirit that is with me is my guide. My limited understanding of guides is that they don't interact with you on such a day-to-day basis. Once you're on earth, you're on your own, and your guide leaves you to your own devices but may send an inspirational thought during your times of need. There was a lot of speculation here about what this thing is, but I think mine is just a regular ghost that has found a neat little trick. By getting very close or moving into a body, it can feel some of the sensations of that body. Why it would want to do this is anyone's guess. Perhaps we provide some sort of comfort for them, and in return they comfort us. Besides, mine does the typical ghost stuff like knocking on the walls and pulling things off shelves.

It's interesting that your ghost followed you to other states. I recently took a vacation, and mine didn't follow me. I flew though, and perhaps the ghost couldn't keep up with the plane 😊 Like you, I feel the ghost the most in the mornings. By late afternoon, I hardly feel it at all. Also, the more time I spend in the house, the less I feel it. Recently I got snowed in for a few days, and after about the third day, I didn't feel a thing all day. Only when I left the house for a while to go back to work did I start feeling it again. I think the ghost has been doing this to me for a lot longer than I realize, and last year I perhaps finally became sensitive enough to start perceiving it. I'm B-, BTW.

I want to say something else. One of my previous responses was written out of ignorance. I'm learning more every day, and in hindsight, this ghost never attacked me. I was the one attacking me. When the ghost first showed up in my house, the night terrors started. I would become paralysed and with a crushing weight on my chest or sometimes on my groin and unable to move or scream. That sort of thing has been experienced by many people here. I would feel a swirling energy wrap itself around my head and squeeze hard. The attacks were very swift and vicious. They never left any bruises or marks, but they were extremely unpleasant. In my original post, I incorrectly wrote that the ghost wasn't impacting my dreams. Well, it wasn't at first, but as time went by it was having a strong influence on my dreams. In addition to the sleep paralysis, I was having incredibly vivid nightmares where I was fighting the ghost. In my dream, I would usually get out of bed and confront the ghost and start puching at it. The ghost would lift me up off the ground and make all the things in my room spin around me. It would then drop me, and I would wake just before hitting the ground. These dreams happened again and again. They were so realistic that it would take me a moment after waking up to realize that I had been dreaming. I currently believe that somehow I am drawing energy from the ghost and using it to have extremely vivid dreams and using my own fear to attack myself. Because the ghost and I are now so close, we are sort of telepathically linked. I can't read its mind, but I can sort of tell what it's thinking. When I'm in distress, like during a nightmare or night terror, it moves out of me real quick and just lies next to me on the bed. I can sense the surprise and concern in the ghost over what I'm experiencing. This is how I realized that it wasn't the one attacking me; I was the one attacking me. Once I knew this, my fear started going away, and the attacks and nightmares lessened and eventually went away completely.

Rich I just read your post from 9/25 and thankfully that isn't anything like I've ever experienced! I've never had an OOBE that I know of. I don't think I want to. I'm not telekinetic either. The idea that you made the spirit angry is scary to me, but that you weren't afraid yourself when it came at you is very impressive!

What I'm finding is that honestly though reading about these experiences is almost scarier than having them don't you think? I can read your story and get goose bumps but then I have the amoeba/orb like thing with me at night and it's comforting. Not scary at all.

I do like your use of the word "synergy" better as I think that is a better description. Reading that it's inside you sounds like possession. But that's not what this is. Though I have not seen through its eyes like you have. We aren't THAT synced up and that's fine with me! I feel the orb like thing conforming to me, kind of congealing, and that's good enough.

Can't wait to see your next update!:)

Rich two more things...

When this stuff started getting stronger two years ago, I started really reading and from what I've read, ghosts haunt places, not people. And for me, this thing has followed me on vacation. The cat walking on the bed has happened in 4 different states and several homes. This spirit thing has only happened in the past two years but it came with me from Virginia to Boston recently.
I just do not think it's a ghost. I think we are getting more into something supernatural than paranormal.

Two, do you know your blood type by any chance? I'm A negative and if you search blood types you'll see that there is a disproportionately higher number of people with negative blood types that have these weird experiences. All kinds of conspiracy theories on that so be prepared your head will spin! Lol.

oh Rich I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found this story. I had to sign up to his forum so I can post. I have been having very similar experiences to yours for the past 2 years. I have Googled my heart out and until now I haven't found anything close to what I'm experiencing other than your post.

Some brief info about me: I'm a 42 year old woman, husband, no kids, two dogs, 4 cats and a horse. I was brought up Christian, somewhat evangelical, but am now a very happy Episcopalian. I CANNOT tell this to anyone I know because as you know, people immediately think, "Demon! Devil! Evil!" and I truly do not believe that is the case with our nightly visitors.

Two years ago I had my St. Michael candle, statue and Holy Water by my bedside. I prayed that if this was anything evil for God to send it away. I was scared but felt strong. I told this thing if it was evil it had me and God's army of angels to deal with. I was prepared to fight. I used my heart to decide if it was evil. And I can tell you even now two years later, I don't believe it is.

What it is, I have no idea! The closest I have found is exactly what spiritwaiting said on 9/25 about angels. I've been reading lately about angels and working with your guardian angels.

The difference with my vistor and yours is that mine starts out as what feels like a cat walking on the bed. I have felt this on and off for the past 25 years or so. Two years ago, I started doing yoga and meditation and I don't know if that is coincidence but shortly after, the cat visits became stronger. Like I'd feel it jump on the bed as soon as I laid down and it would lay behind me or next to me. I've lost several kitty companions over the years and didn't know if it was one of them. But then the kitty visits became paired with the "amoeba" that you are talking about. So not only would I have the kitty laying behind me (our bedroom door stays closed so I know it's not our cats) but then about 5 minutes after laying down, I feel the bed have this vibrating energy. Like something is coming through a portal that is at the foot of the bed. Then I feel what feels like other little critters. Then I feel the amoeba thing come around. Just like you said, it lays with me. Sometimes if I move my arm, it moves also. Almost like it's mirroring me. Mine always comes from behind me on my back, never the front. And I never felt like it's been totally inside me, but I'd say partially inside? If that makes sense. And yes it's comforting.

Like you, it used to have the courtesy to wait until I was sleeping but now I have a freaking zoo on me as soon as I lay down. My husband goes to bed a couple of hours before me so he's always sleeping while I deal with the critters. I'll get the kitty, some other things that feel like maybe little mice or something, and then the amoeba. Sometimes it will lay on my hip or the top of my arm and other times behind me.

The mornings is actually when I feel it the most. And this part actually just started happening a couple of months ago. It will feel like a glowing orb behind me moving back and forth, back and forth. I don't know that it's glowing but it feels like energy and like it would be glowing. Then it stops and I feel the mattress indenting. I hear the springs creaking. Again, I don't feel like it's anything malevolent.

At times, I have felt the cat walking and the energy. Almost like they either hang out together or they are one in the same. Have you felt anything that feels like it would be a cat? The two are definitely related in some way.

I've read about spirit guides and maybe that's what these things are? I've told my husband and in the past two years he said that he has felt a few times what feels like the cat or that something is laying behind him. But nothing like I deal with each night.

I'm so sorry for babbling like I have. I am just giddy to have found something close to what I'm experiencing. Your post is the closest I've seen yet. I'm also so happy to have found this board! I'll be reading a lot here in the future! You all are awesome!

samtillie: How are you, my friend? I have just a minor update, but you're going to like this one. Okay, here goes. Without an alarm, I tend to wake somewhat slowly. My mind wakes up first, but my eyes will remain closed for a short while. On some days, the ghost and I are so perfectly joined that I have some control over its body. I can see with its eyes and move its head and look around my room even though my own eyes are closed. It's really freaky! Its vision is very strange. If I look at my own body, it is a brilliant, almost blinding white. Everything else in the room is shades of grey. There's no color at all. I can also move its hands and fingers, but only a little and not too far away from my own. I can only do this for a few seconds after waking up. The ghost doesn't mind me doing this, in fact, I think it gets a kick out it. It started trying to move my fingers I believe out of curiosity, but only by directing force from the outside. In other words, trying to push them. One other thing. I've gotten better at perceiving the ghost without seeing it. When it gets on the bed, it starts at the foot and slides up next to me. I can sense its head and body even though I can't see them. I know that it is lying very still next to me, but there's a wave or a force that moves back and forth across the bed. It does this for awhile then settles down to nothing. This explains what got on my bed and moved from head to toe in my original story. It wasn't the ghost moving back and forth, but some type of energy in the ghost. I still don't understand what this is though. Other than that, its gotten somewhat routine.

Triskaideka: That's certainly a beautiful idea. There isn't a day that I don't think about my whole experience and wonder who or what it is. You've definitely given me something more to consider. As for the significance of the side I sleep, it has to do with the ghost's entry. It always enters from my front, and by front I mean face/chest/belly and not the front of the bed. I almost always sleep on my side in a semi-fetal position. I have always slept on the far left edge of the bed. If I sleep facing away from the middle of the bed, the ghost would have to float in mid-air to enter me, and it doesn't like to do that. It will stand at the side of my bed and grab onto my wrist and squeeze almost as if pleading me to move over. It will do that all day. The only way to stop this I found was to sleep always facing the interior of the bed. In other words, if I need to roll over, I will have to scoot to the opposite side of the bed. I've been doing that for several months now and have had no more problems with the ghost squeezing my wrist. On very rare occasions I sleep on my back. If that's the case, the ghost will get on top of me and sink vertically into me. I've tried to fake it out by moving my pillow to the opposite end. No luck. This ghost sees everything.

This whole story is absolutely fascinating. I actually had flashbacks to a time when I used to feel as though someone were wrapping me in their arms. And no, I don't chalk it up to ghosts. I feel that perhaps this is a piece of your mind, or your spirit, that is giving you reassurance. A part of you. And maybe these parts of you were split somehow, and now they're trying to merge. Errr, I'm not really sure how to say it in a way that it makes sense. It's not you as in the person you are currently feeling yourself to be, but it's part of you in that the two of you make a whole being. So in a way, it's like you're fighting with yourself, perhaps. And that's why it won't go away, no matter what you do. It's still you, and somehow you got separated from that half, and being with it =makes you feel whole again. And perhaps having that piece of you outside your body is actually a benefit, because it's absorbing your physical pain without having to experience it. The downside is that side doesn't get to experience the fun physical things, and I bet that never sleeping, even when you don't need it, can drive a person crazy. So really, you're helping each other. Your other half is taking away your pain, and you are helping it to rest on occasion.

And maybe the reason it's better for you not to merge would be that if you did, you'd be wholly whole in your physical body, and therefore both (or all) of you would experience the full brunt of the pain, which wouldn't be worth it to either (all) of you. So the you-you in this physical form, recognizing that on a deeper level, is preventing that merging.

I do wonder about the significance of sleeping on a certain side as well as how air-flow would affect this phenomenon. What happens if you move your pillow to the foot-end of your bed and switch to this being's non-preferred sleeping side?

Rich, this thing doesn't seem ghostly to me at all, other than it's got consciousness without a body. It's almost like it's an inter-dimensional traveler visiting you in this dimension (as if it is used to having a physical body but could not travel between dimensions within it's physical form), or maybe it is a part of you that somehow detached when you got sick with MD but has returned to heal you by making you whole again, if only for a little while. At any rate I am fascinated! Good luck dear

valkicry, yes, I was in that situation before. I was in so much pain I felt that I couldn't go on. Symptoms started to ease and for a long time I was about 50% recovered but not expected to get any better. I was still miserable, but at least I had some quality of life back. Since the ghost started sleeping with me, I would say I'm 90% recovered now. My symptoms eased the day this started happening. You're theory could very well be correct. I thought about giving it a name, by the way. The problem is that I don't know if its male or female. I would have to give it a unisex name like Chris or Pat. I'm going to try to eventually better communicate with it and maybe learn its real name.

Mayamie, I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of it. None of them worked. I think of cleaning rituals as a way to get rid of what is unpure, or filthy. If this thing is pure and well-intentioned, the cleaning rituals aren't going to work in my opinion. I did not consciously invite it. We operate on different levels simultaneously. Science describes this as conscious - subconscious - superconscious. I could very well have invited it on an unconscious level. I could have even invited it before my life started in order for us to work together. This would be part of my "life contract" which I touched upon a few posts back. Right now, as I see it, I really have no choice. I'm not able to battle it on its own terms, and it could be that I might not want to. At this point, its all speculation. I've been very wrong about a lot of things before. I think I'm going to stop speculating and just go along with it and gather facts and information only.

1directioner, thanks, and welcome to YGS. I do feel fortunate. This could turn out to be something wonderful.

i would actually say this is a heart warming story because it seems like the ghost only wants a friend and he has chosen you and to not harm you is a great deal because they normally like to kill and it seems as if he is a different, kind, and caring type of ghost and you shouldn't be freaked out you should be touched

Rich, I have been thinking again... Many of the reply posts have shown concern that this entity has come uninvited into your life. You, yourself have stated you did not do so. But given that you suffer from a form of MD, I have a question. A long time ago (about 10 years now) I, myself suffered from an airborne virus that attacked my muscular and nervous system. I only mention this, because I want you to realize that I do understand pain. There were times it was so bad I would beg God to either take me or heal me, but to stop the pain. It took a very long time to heal and a couple of years of PT, but I made it back. Now, what does this have to do with you? I was wondering if maybe at some point you too had asked the same thing of God/ the cosmos? And in doing so had inadvertently asked this 'thing' (can't we give it a name? Bob? Dave? It seems wrong to call it 'it' all the time) in? It's just a thought.

Holy Cow. Let me get this straight. It does what it wants and you can't do anything about it?

Sort of a lost ghost, alien or whatever that actually seems to be a very uninvited, unwanted entity. Have you tried asking for an army of other "kindly" spirits to gently but firmly get rid of it? I mean to pray for "peace at last" from whatever higher source you may believe in, that sort of thing?

It has "boundaries' but apparently you have none that this "thing" cares to respect? Sounds like rape to me. I guess we, the living don't quite know what to do with things we can't quite see nor understand, so I say you have the right to ask for intervention on your behalf. I'm telling you, if it were me, I would have been screaming for help long before the thing tried to become one with me.

Valkicry - that's a real interesting thought, it molding itself into me. I think that's exactly what it's doing.

As for the finger yesterday, I think I've got that figured out. There's something I forgot to mention, and that's this ghost has become real fickle lately. It does not like to sleep on its right side. You see, when the ghost comes into me, it always does so from my front. I sleep on the left side of my bed which is closest to my alarm clock and my fan that I have on my nightstand. It's still hot here, and I have my fan on every day. If I sleep on my right side, then the fan is blowing at the front of my body and the ghost will have to struggle against the air to get in me. I don't think this ghost likes that fan being on at all. I think drawing circles on my ear was its way of saying "roll over please onto this ear". It's innocent enough, but it still gave me the willies! Normally its touch is so soft that it's hard to pinpoint exactly where it's touching. If it had tried to use its normal touch to draw a circle, I wouldn't have even been able to tell it was drawing a circle. I would have just felt soft, vague impressions on my ear. By concentrating its energy to a certain place, it can seem more solid and therefore give a more definite touch. If you remember from a couple posts ago, the ghost pushed me on the legs real hard. Again, I was lying on my right side facing the fan. It wanted me to roll over. I got a little upset at it for doing that, and I think the circle on the ear was it just trying to tell me to turn over in a nicer way. This morning I went to sleep on my left side, and the ghost was able to come onto the bed and enter me from the front. We ended up having a very nice sleep together. This is all just so weird, isn't it?

Last I heard Rook had gotten a promotion at work and it is playing havoc with his schedule.
*****
The fleshy finger 'episode' (sorry for lack of a better word for it) I was thinking about that - why would someone trace a circle around an ear lobe? Now, this might sound like a leap of logic, but bare with me: In the beginning this thing was rather a shapeless mass, but reformed itself to mold to your body - legs, arms, etc. And melded with you. In art class, we learn to break things down to basic shapes. If you look at an ear, the lobe is basically a small circle (here comes the leap) could it be this thing is trying to figure out how to form the more intricate features of your body? Ears, then facial?
Could this be a 'mimic' in the making? Or perhaps nothing so invasive as a mimic, but something studying your (our) form and trading you removal of pain for it? This just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser.

Getting in touch with some investigators sounds like a good idea. The more you talk about it, the more I'm getting the impression that this isn't a typical spirit either. It seems to be 'learning' and for lack of a better term evolving.
This is a bit 'out there', but remember how long it took to touch your cheek? Back when you thought about using the cheeks and forehead as communication. At work, I'm often spoken to in Spanish, which is not my native language, and sometimes there is a delay between what I 'hear' and my taking action, because I need to translate it first. I wonder if something similar is in play here.
A Ghost or Spirit box might be the way to go, as they do seem clearer than EVPs.
Please keep us posted.

I am so creeped out right now! It did something new today, actually about 15 minutes ago as I write this. It was standing on the side of the bed, and I felt the most clammy flesh-like finger tracing a circle around my left ear lobe. I asked it to stop, and it wouldn't. This continued for about 30 seconds or so until I just couldn't take it any more and got out of bed. I can still almost feel it. Ehwww! I don't think I can sleep the rest of the day.

I have never felt this thing feel so "solid". I thought I felt the fleshy finger the other day, but it was just for a split second. For the last couple of weeks I've got the impression that this thing is evolving in ability over time. It used to just plop down crudely on the bed and move in jerky, bouncing movements. I've noticed that its movement is becoming much more fluid and graceful. I really starting to wonder if this thing is even a ghost at all because I have never heard of a ghost behaving like this. Things may end up getting very interesting over time. I'll keep you all updated.

Ok guys, the video is going to be hard to get. I've already tried to video and photograph it, and absolutely nothing showed up, not even an orb. I'm going to probably have to get in touch with some paranormal investigators that have experience doing this and see how they do it. Since I don't feel a temperature change, I don't think taking video in infrared will work. This thing feels almost electromagnetic in nature, and I'm going to have to find a way to detect it.

Samtillie, I've heard EVP recordings before, and they have always been very difficult for me to understand. I'll consider it though. The K2 meter seems to be more real-time communication, and I think that's the one I'll try first. There's also a device called a Ghost Box which uses white noise within the radio frequency spectrum.

Well, I guess I really am tired after all. I'm going to try again to sleep. Off to bed now 😢

...when I did a spiritual cleansing years ago, I entered into an altered state of consciousness and became coherent again as I felt the sensation of an entity being pushed out of my physical body through my chest and solar plexus. It really, really disturbed me that whatever it was had, even for a moment, lodged itself within my physical body. How rude. My temple. Mine. Lol. You spook sounds much friendlier. Perhaps it is a mutual curiosity and openness on your part that made it drawn to you.

Rich...quality experience and very credibly described. I definitely understand how a spirit can hold and amalgamate with your physical body and yet not " possess" you as such. I sense that the difference being, possession is done without consent to the person, and the amalgamation of entity and person is done without malevolent intent... Perhaps the difference between carjacking and hitch hiking... Heh.

Again, some very nice replies here. Thanks to everybody. You're about the coolest bunch of folks I've ever hung around with. I'll keep everything you all said in mind, and if something changes I'll post a part two. I've learned a lot from you all and from this site, but I clearly have much more to learn.

My future plans are to try to communicate with it somehow. I'm thinking of trying a K2 meter. I would also like to take of video of it entering me. From reading this it made me think that maybe whatever it is or whoever it is could sense that you are in pain and felt that it needed to help you relax at night without hurting.

I wouldn't worry too much about this as I have something following me that comforts me when I'm poorly as I've felt something rub my back when I'm sick and playing with my hair when I can't sleep due to being poorly.

If it stills worries you read up on it 😊 I'm sure there's something similar to what you've experienced 😊

Rich73: Thank you again for such an informative reply. I apologize if I've offended you by mentioning that "something" missing. I didn't think you were being deceitful at all, but meant to imply that there is more going on beyond your writings here. Sorry!

Anyway, the "something missing" having been revealed, have you ever thought that possibly this being is something you picked up during an OBE? And it's funny you should mention that, as it did indeed come up in conversation outside of the site 😆.

Sorry if we're getting too crazy with the theories LOL. We, on this site, love a puzzle and you've certainly presented us with one! 😊 I've learned a lot from this thread, and to quote a dear friend and fellow MOD, Miracles, "the more I think I know about the paranormal, the more I realize I don't know". And I literally went to the public library to try and find anything on this type of thing. The only thing I came anywhere even slightly close were angels. Now it may be a possiblity that one is trying to help you enjoy the rest of your time here. Maybe there is a bigger picture there. Hey just a thought. I hope you find some way of figuring this thing out.
