Girlie,
No problem and no offense taken.

MannPower,
For these items being a novelty and this story being so unbelievable, you certainly put a lot of thought in to your response and into reading my story.

There are about 8 individuals who had this experience with this novelty item and... Well it sure seems as if during and after this no-occurance and sensationilzed occurance, the novelty wore off.

I do hope that your mind and soul open a bit more or... Well 'novelties' may blind side you when you least expext it.

Ouija boards are marketted and manufactured in great quantities. I doubt the companies who produce them have an occult department that 'infuses' each board with an endless supply of spirits.

As to their function, they operate on a scarecely known, but very real physical principle. It is due to this and the social 'mystique' that surrounds them that they sell; they almost always work, yet not everyone has a 'spiritual' encounter outside of a Ouija board. This should tell you something. It's a product, and novelty item.

I am unsure why it is necessary to fabricate events such as these, but I think it is the same reason why TV shows like "A Haunting" feature far more sensational ghost stories than, say, Ghost Hunters.

Judy,
My husband and all are fine after the incident, as I stated though, he will rarely speak of the incident at all.

As for me, well. I wouldn't know what normal is I guess.

Krista,
I agree except I don't think tha Ouijia boards should be used by anyone, (just my opinion).

Thanks,
God Bless!

woah creepy. I personally think ouija boards should only be used by professionals (like ghosthunters ect) and shouldnt be used by people that have no idea what there doing. Great story though, and thanks for sharing 😊

Take care x

Wow Kim. What a scary story that is. I don't have any words except that I hope your husband and all involved are okay. I don't like Ouijia Boards, they give me the creeps. I can't believe that happened to you, and the rocking chair? Whoa, that is scary. Have you had anything bad happen after this occured? Just thought I would ask. Talk with you soon, Judy

rsthaley,
Thank you for reading. This did shake up all of us, especially my husband! This is the only encounter he will even admit that he has no idea of a way to logially explain the events that occured.

I would LOVE to visit Waverly Hills! I can't wait to see a story of events when you return from your trip!

Stay safe,
God Bless!

Wow, this is a really scary story, and if it shook up your non-believing husband, it must have been severe. My husband is also very skeptical. He doesn't say that ghost don't exist, but he can't say that they do, because he's never seen one. He admits to having one paranormal experience as a child, but it wasn't enough to make him a believer. We are going to Waverly Hills Sanitorium later this month, however, and I hope we see something... But nothing too scary.

RebelBoy,
You are correct, you are not supposed to burn these boards, but like idiots, we did no research and had no clue what we were doing.

I know, the preist was trying to lighten the mood through out this situation. Unfortunately, he passeaway about 3 months after his visit to this apartment.

thanks for reading! God Bless!

TwistedWispers,
Most of the occurances I have experienced have been in Omaha, Nebraska. The experience in this story occured in Omaha, but I have been to the cemetary you speak of in Springfield Nebraska, it was not a pleasant experience there. I will have to write about it some time.

God Bless!

I know ya'll didn't think it was funny, but I laughed at the priests comments about the clean spirit. Hahaha. As for the Ouija Board. I thought you weren't supposed to burn those things. I hear bad things can happen if you do. I hope nothing did. And I also hear that you shouldn't continue talking to the spirit if it says no to the question if it wants to communicate. Hopefully you haven't had any experiences that scary since then. The story was very interesting though. Thanks for sharing.

my husband is from nebraska and he had some ghost experiences to. One was from balls cemertery in springfeild nebraska. And the other experiences he had were in the backyard of his grandmothers house. He had seen wraiths and he didn't know if they were there to attack him or what but they kept looking at him he said. What part of nebraska did this happen in and ill see if he knows where that is at?

NEVER EVER BURN A OUIJA BOARD! Varies thing's may happen!

1. The ghost may become furios, and feel as it it want's to kill you.

2. The ghost (or demon/intety) will haunt you the rest of your life. (possibly)

3. You can open a door to even MORE entity's that could possibly harm you. No, most likely WILL harm you!

Never mess with a Ouija boards! For it can open door's that you DON'T want open...

No problem, WB. I am always glad when individuals are instructed on the proper way to dispose of these things. Nothing good comes of having them, using them or trying to rid your self of them improperly.

SilverWolf77,
Thank you, I am glad you liked my story. Please be very certain to obtain the exact instructions for destruction of these things from the net. I can terstify that when destroyed improperly, well,... It does not simply end.

God Bless!

SilverWolf77,
(My apologies, Kim, for taking space up on your page, I just saw this question and thought to answer it 😉)
It is said that if you burn an Ouija board it releases the spirits of the board into the atmosphere and they will be FORCED to haunt you for the rest of YOUR time here on earth. If you look up the proper destruction of the boards on the Internet, it actually tells you the BEST way to destroy one is to dissect it into seven pieces and to BURY it.
Thank you.

Great story! I added it to my favorites.

One question: Why are you not supposed to burn Ouija boards?

Flutterofwings,
I am in absolute agreement! Just from the accounts read on this site, I have NEVER heard of anything good coming out of these things. It is terribly frightening tha tpeople are taken in and use them as if nothing... Whew.

thanks for reading!

I think Ouija boards should not be sold anywhere, nor any site on the internet how to make one either. They are dangerous, they cause people to get hurt in some form or fashion, physically or mentally or both in some cases. They are not TOYS... But it's just the thought that something could be in it that stirs people up to get them, use them and see. Once seen most people don't want to talk about it or see or use one again... Was a well written story, a good story but not, good things that happen from the board.

wow.
nice story. Pretty scary though !
but isn't it bad to communicate with the outside forces through a ouija board? My mom used to warn me that when you use that is just the same as disturbing them and some ghosts just don't like getting disturbed.
I myself have witnessed one but I find it really scary;
thats a good thing you guys got rid of it, before it harmed any of you guys. Take caree ! 😁

great story, But remember, If you want to use an Ouija board you have to be spiritually strong, and know what to say, Playing with Ouija Board is like an Extreme sport, where you have to use your spirit strength and brains

Actually, the Ouijia board that was used here, no one seems to no where it came from. All of the boys have denied even knowing it was in the house. I don't think they had the board out. It was in the back of my cousins bed room closet, on the main floor.

it did definitely seem to affect my husband, he still will not concede to the possiblity of entities, spirits and ghost verbally, he just shakes his head when brought up and generally tries to leave the room or changes the subject.

believe me, those boards will never be used in my presence again.

i drove by where the duplex this happened in and the duplex, both sides appears to be vacant again with a for rent sign in the yard. I though about calling the land lord and asking if there was activity, but I got chills just thinking about the encounters and decided I did not want to know.

thank you to all who commented. I am comforted by those on this site who listen and truly want to extend their opinions and concerns and beleifs.

God Bless!

Well this is one story that I will comment on for sure. I am not a believer in Ouija boards and I will not use them ever. I find those things are a product of the devil and sinister forces. I believe that even owning one could have let the entity in the home in the first place. But if the Ouija was never in the home before, then I believe this incident to be the result of two possible situations. One the appearance of the figure yelling get out, was maybe at one time a resident of that very same place and had something awful happen to him. At first I thought that the entity was only being seen in the chair at that residence. But when you mention that when you gave it away to some one else and that they had saw the figure to, it then dawned on me that IT (the figure) held some sort of sentimental connection to that chair. Second, I believe that if the Ouija board may have been the cause of IT's (figure) arrival... If the board was in the home, I tend to believe that it some how opened a gateway to the other world. And I believe totally that this was an evil being. I believe that in death, these spirits are some times turned and then attack us for unknown reasons. Regardless the smartest thing that was done was the house was vacated immediately. Here is something you might want to check into. See if any one else has rented the place and see if any more occurences are happening there... Then again it is best to leave things alone. But pray in the name of god that the new tenents are not harmed. This story really got to me and I had a similar situation. But I cannot post it right now because the site is not taking any more stories... But I am glad that you and your loved ones are safe and may god be with you and wherever you go... Take care...

very difficult story, and if it affected
your husband so deeply, people who have
closed minds are the very ones who feel
it the most. Well, God be with you and
yours from now on, and stay away from
those awful Boards 😐

I feel there's more to this story that perhaps you're unaware of. Was the Ouija board used there before? Perhaps the boys used it to contact the spirit initially, maybe they asked it to appear or show itself.

If not, you certainly didn't need to use a Ouija board to contact it. If it hissed "get out" it was already in our realm and needed no gateway to communicate.

Leave the Ouija boards alone, and never leave them open. You could have made matters much worse, especially given the negative spirits already inhabiting the place.

I have since learned not to burn a ouijia board-ever. I had no idea what was going on and was a bit more than frazeled.

my family all moved away from the duplex and has never gone back. I am not sure what has happened since, if anything.

i will NEVER approach that house, even that street again.

God Bless!

Wow, what an amazing story, I was on the edge of my seat! I did however gasp when I read the following : They then went to the back of the house, placed the Ouija board, pointer and box to the board in a metal trash can and burned it. I had always assumed it was bad to burn an Ouija board... I would be so scared you handled it well! I think my hair would have turned white, and right now I would be rocking back and forth somewhere with padded walls! Good story! Has anything more on this ever happened again? ❤

thank you to all of you who posted.

i agree, strange for all to see this 'thing'. Normally, I see 'things' and others thing I am wacko. This situation was totally different.

i do have nightmares now and again, not as bad as they used to be. My son, he has them regaularly. My cousin will not talk about it at all. She is the tyoe that if they pretend it doesn't exist, then it doesn't.

this story was very difficult to tell. The priest still calls to check in on us regularly although we left that chruch about 6 months after this occurance.

again, I appreciatte all on this site and your support.

God Bless!

Hi KimSouthO,
WOW! I think you handled the situation very well, I am not sure how I would have held up. What an awful experience, I hope that your son and his cousin did not have any bad dreams after that! I am glad your cousin moved straight away instead of trying to fight off that entity. Thank you for posting your story!
Take care!

Wow that was a good story! It had to be a evil spirit. I hope you find peace in life. I agree with shane that it is wierd that so many people saw the entity. It proves how little we know about the paranormal. And how much we must learn. Love you All!

Very interesting story Kim. I also find it interesting that so many were able to see and experience the same entity. Normally they only like to make their presense known to a select few. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Peace, Love, and Luck be with you.
