Also I have a question that is kind of serious to me, Why is it that every one of my comments, even my thank you comments have been marked negative? Putting my karma points in the negative now? It just feels like my comments are being trolled

ok I see what you guys are saying. I hid the doll in the garage because I knew she wouldn't go down there. I covered it up mostly being paranoid. Say If my aunt or somebody went into the garage for my grandma and seen the doll that they didn't recognize it and brought it upstairs and asked my grandma where she got it or why it was in the garage (she collected dolls so it being in the garage would have been strange) I was just really trying to cover my tracks so no one would find it.

Kelly I understand how it must have been at that time when you had these experiences. A haunted house can be very appealing and at the age of 15 we really don't care much about things.
All I want to say to everyone here is that, YGS is a platform where we share our personal experience of paranormal, and every person has a different way of explaining and writing down things, for some it may seem true and for others it may seem fake but this doesn't change the experience that the person has gone through... We all know that paranormal doesn't have a definite shape smell touch or behavior and every person would surely feel and see different from others. Let's accept and move on...

I will admit, I am also confused by that, Luna. I was trying to hold my tongue.
Kelly, in the story, you stated that you had to hide the doll in the garage under things to keep your grandmother from finding it, but you have since stated that she was unable to go down the stairs and that you would have to go get things from the garage if she needed something. Which does beg the question that if she could not go down there, why would you have to hide it from her so carefully? I can understand leaving it down there, since she could not go down, but the combination of actually hiding it is where I am a bit confused.
Things like that are why people ask questions. It's not nitpicking or an attempt to be mean to you. It's important for a true ghost story site to make sure that everything makes sense. I'm definitely not trying to bully you and if you feel bullied, I apologize. We do get a bit cynical, at times, because of how often we have been tricked or had fake stories submitted, which often leads to many, many requests for clarification. Please do not take it personally.

I'm sorry, but I have to ask: Why did you feel you had to hide such innocuous items in the garage from your grandmother since she never went down there?

[at] tweed thanks for your input. I don't know what spirit we might have contacted but it was obviously trying to mess with us or make its presence known. Or maybe it could have possibly been my late grandfather? Thank you for reading my stories

Kelly regardless of if there's a normal or a paranormal explanation for this I doubt the motivation for moving the doll was particularly deep.
If this happened to me I would have been totally freaked out too. But also somewhat annoyed because, given what happened in that house, playing silly games with a doll is in pretty poor taste. I would also be somewhat amused because of the cliche nature of it.
Because you and your friends did this out of a bit of stupid teenage fun I'd guess you opened yourselves up to a bit of silliness from the other side as well.
I was very moved by your doberman experience and I think you were all very lucky to have had it. Even if you were frightened when it happened.
I would be inclined to think the doberman was connected to this house too.
Even if what happened with the doll was connected to this house. Even if the doberman encounter too was connected to this house. I wouldn't put both doberman and doll in the same caliber just because of the house connection.
I read some articles on that house, I found some pictures too. It's shocking what happened, just horrible. Unfortunately places like that seem to attract all kinds of immature ghosts. Anyone could have followed you home that night. Not necessarily someone connected to that house, or what happened there. It could have been some random prankster.

[at] mandyynicole that's a good point but my sister and I are very close and only a 1.5 years apart. I doubt she would do anything like that to "prank" me. We both still reminisce about the paranormal things we experienced together and she hardly thinks its a joke and honestly she is a bigger scardy cat then I am and she seems to be more disturbed by the incidents then I was.

Yes the house was very neglected and old the wood on the house was practically flaking off by itself (one of the links shows a picture of the outside house) and Yes we did plan the seance that's why I was collected items. And no, I hardly think it's possible my grandmother heard us let alone did that with the toolboxes and doll, she was in her late 70s and had health problems and could hardly walk especially not down 12 hardwood stairs. We had to go and get something for her if she needed something from downstairs.

Actually, if one googles, there are several links about the crime Kelly describes. In fact if you look at her first story, in comments, a couple of us posted links.
Also in this story she says, "As we were leaving, I stopped and pulled a small chip of wood off the house..." sounds like it was one of those old clap-board houses. Which I take to mean from the exterior and not the interior.
By the way, in my teens and even earlier I was one of those kids who went into 'haunted houses', usually on a dare. 😆 Sometimes part of that dare was to bring something back to 'prove' it. So...
Kelly, had you guys pre-planned to hold a 'seance' using items from that house? Or was that an after thought?
Is it not possible, that grandma had heard you guys screaming (being you were just across the street) or maybe was clued in by neighbors who saw you, and she decided to teach you a lesson by setting up the toolboxes and doll?

Mandy it may seem like nitpicking, I can see where you are coming from but even the slightest most minut detail can and sometimes does reveal much more than expected. I have seen someone completely change their advice over something so small the o/p didn't think it mattered in the slightest. Sometimes we need those details to properly advise people on what to do. So I ask that you and Kelly both don't take it as a personal assault on the story.

In defense of the author, it truely does seem like a lot of nitpicking is happening here. I feel like I can relate to teen-kelly, her experience seems like exactly something I would have done at same age. Stopping to pick up a wood chip and everything. It's really a shame that people can't seem to move past irrelevent tidbits in this account.
Maybe i'm not as nitpicky because it sounds exactly like a teen-me lol.
Kelly, I misread about your grandpa having passed away. My mistake! It seems as though there may have been some trapped energy, or maybe even a harmless tag along spirit. But there is still the possibility your sister was playing a prank on you. It doesn't seem like, if it were anything paranormal, that it stuck around for too long. Thankfully!

kellyann - try not to be so defensive. The members on our site ask questions if they don't understand something. We, on the whole, don't take everything for granted. We've been misled, lied to, deceived, mocked, etc too many times to just accept stories that may have questions that need answered or clarified. Getting upset and antagonizing our members may cause some of them not to believe your story. Just some advice, take it or leave it.
I've been a member for a couple of years, have some of my stories on here as well and I've been questioned about the details and even basically told they didn't believe me.
You know what, at the end of the day it's a website full of strangers. So what if they ask you to confirm something. If you don't want to, don't. But getting upset doesn't help.

I don't see people asking for clarification a nitpicking- especially when a mod is one of the people asking the questions, as is her responsibility to do so.
Clarification is often needed. There are people from all over the world on this site and there will be many, many questions from many different types of people. If there is a communication error and something in the story that seems to be odd, asking is quite normal and needed.

Kelly I am sorry that you feel we are nitpicking your stories but as it was explained on the last one you posted many people push false stories, IM NOT SAYING YOURS IS. Also we need to gather information to ask questions on things we question so we can make a logical decision to give you the help or information you need.
The only way to rule it paranormal is to rule out the normal.

[at] newhunter30 I was never scared for my life ok, I wasn't scared of my family's either I already explained that I didn't want to get in trouble. I didn't want the doll in my house only because it was creepy and didn't know if it could have possibly opened the door to potential paranormal activity, which I had not experienced nor wanted to for that fact I have children now. Anything else you all would like to nitpick? Since that seems to be all some of you want to do instead of trying to understand and help.

elnora I think the issue is just either bad wording or a misunderstanding. I had to reread it a few times because to me it sounded like the wood chip was grabbed in the house. I thought the same thing but after rereading I realized that the wood chip did seem to be grabbed outside.
Although I do have one question, if at 15 you had time to go investigating a "haunted house" then why didn't you just take the box and/or doll and throw it in the garbage the night before trash day?

In fairness, where the confusion is coming from on my part at least, is that you stated all of you panicked and ran, which makes the stopping to pick up a wood chip a bit odd.

Kelly
I believe the reason that people think that is the implication is you felt the doll was possessed which in turn implies there is something demonic about it. I can see what ifihad is saying about not telling your grandmother.
Again this may be due to a communication issue but you appear as if you were scared to death of the doll even as an adult, that it may do something horrible. I think many people may find it hard to believe that you feel concerned for your safety but have no apparent concern for a family members safety.

Thank you Mandyynicole EXACTLY! And it was odd that my deceased grandfather's boxes were open maybe it could have been him giving us a sign that he was upset over the doll and seance.

[at] ifihadyoux - Yes I knew everything about the house and that is what was so appealing about it. We were ghost hunting I guess you could say. I wasn't scared? People go in creepy places all the time. Also we ran out of the house because one of my friends got startled and came out into the backyard and stood there a minute and collected ourselves. We WALKED backed to my house and I grabbed the woodchip on my way out of the yard. And No I didn't tell my grandma about any of that because it would mean I had to explain what we had done and I would have been in BIG trouble. Ok? You have to remember I was only 15 at the time, I didn't exactly have the best judgment back then.

Are you sure it wasn't just your grandma or grandpa (or anyone else in the house) moving those things? Kind of odd it was the toolbox laying open though, eh? I understand if you were hesitant to tell anyone (your grandma) about these experiences... As a teenager I don't think I would have either because I would have been ratting myself out on the illegal shennanigans lol. I wouldn't have wanted to keep the doll either. I hate dolls!
I did a little googling and I did seem to find a legitimate link to the crime within the time period it would have occurred according to the story.

This is intense and would make a good script for a cheesy horror movie! 😨
Could you please share the link to the news of such a horrendous crime?
Do you know if the doll kept on opening your grandfather's toolboxes after you moved out of their house?

I have a few questions in regards to this story. You know the history of it yet you chose to touch and take the doll that was in the house? Also you guys were running and you stopped to get a wood chip from the same house? And now your grandmother's garage is/was haunted and you chose to NOT tell her?
